Chapter 32: Differential Treatment
The handcuffs that had been tightly fastened around his wrists were quickly undone by Wen En.
Wen En did not act rashly.
He wasn’t sure if there were cameras here, or anything else monitoring him. If there were, and news of his escape reached Peter, he would be a sitting duck with no weapon.
Fortunately, he didn’t have to wait long. A turning point occurred.
It was the same subordinate who delivered the bread. The subordinate pushed open the door, took a piece of deathly hard bread from the cart, and casually threw it in front of Wen En.
“Your dinner. Eat up,” the subordinate said, his eyes looking at Wen En as if he were a stray dog.
Wen En’s face darkened. He looked furious and said loudly, “Hey, how am I supposed to eat this?”
“Huh?” the subordinate sneered. “That’s not my problem.”
“If you treat me like this again, Peter won’t let you off,” Wen En said angrily. “There are cameras everywhere. Your every move is under Peter’s watch.”
“Cameras? Cameras!” the subordinate bent down and laughed loudly. “Please, it’s hard enough to even install a light bulb here.” At this point, he suddenly remembered something and quickly shut his mouth. He said sternly, “Anyway, eat it or don’t!”
“Then you feed me,” Wen En said.
“Huh?” The subordinate thought he had misheard.
“I said, you feed me,” Wen En said. “It’s a simple task, isn’t it?”
The subordinate’s face turned red, like a steaming hot iron. He was furious. Did this stupid Beta think he was some kind of big shot, and was treating him like a waiter?
The subordinate rushed over, almost tripping over the bread on the floor. He saw Wen En give a contemptuous and mocking smile, which made him even angrier. Didn’t this brat understand his situation? How dare he order him around?
“I’ll only make you suffer!” the subordinate shouted, raising his hand to hit Wen En.
Now!
Wen En suddenly raised his hand and blocked the subordinate’s punch with the side of his arm.
What? Shouldn’t this brat be locked up? When did he get free?
Oops, I’ve fallen into a trap.
Wen En grabbed the subordinate’s wrist and pulled it back. The subordinate was uncontrollably thrown towards Wen En due to inertia.
Wen En seized the opportunity and chopped the not-so-pitiful subordinate’s neck with his elbow.
Then the subordinate’s eyes rolled back, and like a slimy, fat catfish washed ashore, he slid down to Wen En’s feet.
Wen En used the iron pin to quickly unlock the shackles on his feet. He then stripped the subordinate, put on his clothes, dragged the subordinate to the position where he had been sitting, and fastened the shackles.
Wen En changed his clothes.
He felt the key in his pocket. The facilities in this place were relatively old, and they still used very old-fashioned keys.
He glanced at the bread on the floor and thought, I can’t eat that again.
He walked to the cart, took a piece of food that wasn’t clean, but was cleaner than the bread on the floor, and simply filled his stomach. He then pushed the cart and, in place of the subordinate, walked to the next room.
There were more rooms here than Wen En had imagined. Most of them were empty. A few held people with broken arms and legs, or even broken spines, who were on the verge of death. Even if Wen En unlocked their shackles, they had no strength to escape.
Wen En couldn’t save so many people. He could only put the bread in their hands before he left, so they could have a full stomach before they died.
He closed the door and pushed the cart, continuing on his search for Romeo.
Suddenly, he stopped and looked up.
On the wall not far away, there was a camera.
The subordinate was not entirely right. There were cameras here, but not many. The cameras were usually placed in the corners of the ceiling in the hallway, like a bat, staring gloomily at the ground.
But this surveillance was not foolproof. Compared to the cameras at F.I.A.D. headquarters, these were far inferior.
First, it only had a fixed angle. Second, if Wen En was not mistaken, the storage method of this camera was not connected to the cloud, but used an old-fashioned memory card, which had to be cleared periodically.
However, this old-fashioned camera had one advantage: it was secure enough. Since it couldn’t connect to the cloud, it meant there was a smaller chance of it being detected by F.I.A.D.’s Skynet system.
Compared to high-tech, Peter clearly needed security more.
Wen En observed the camera. He walked forward, hugging the wall. That side was the camera’s blind spot.
Suddenly, to his surprise, he saw the camera move.
The second before the black lens turned towards Wen En, Wen En, with extreme speed and silence, darted to the other side of the corridor.
He pressed himself against the wall, holding his breath.
Fortunately, the camera did not make any further movements. Wen En secretly breathed a sigh of relief and continued to walk forward. Soon, he finally arrived directly under the camera.
The camera was located high in the corner of the wall, but this was no problem for Wen En. He spread his arms and legs, bracing himself against the two walls of the ninety-degree corner. Then, he used his core strength to climb up. After reaching a certain height, he reached out one hand and pressed a spot on the back of the camera. In less than a second, a memory card popped out and fell to the ground.
Wen En jumped down from the wall and stepped on the memory card, crushing it to pieces.
After dealing with the camera, Wen En pushed the cart and continued to walk forward.
Things were not static here. The further he went, the newer the decor became.
In front of a door, Wen En stopped.
There was only one piece of bread left in the cart. Wen En just hoped that when he opened the door, Romeo would be there.
He stared at the keyhole below the doorknob, took out the key hanging on the cart, and opened the door.
“Creak—”
The door, which needed lubrication, let out a distorted scream.
But Wen En’s expression became grim.
“Romeo!”
He ran over and saw the Alpha leaning against the bars of the cage, his eyes closed, unconscious.
His body was getting hotter and hotter.
Romeo finally struggled to wake up from the nightmare. Fortunately, it was just a bad dream—although the reality was not much better than the dream.
Romeo’s eyes darted around, looking at the Omega far away from him. The Omega was good at reading expressions. Seeing him turn as red as a carrot, covering his mouth and trembling, he was probably not feeling any better than Romeo. But the desire to survive had overcome lust. No human, or creature, would want to reproduce when their life was not even guaranteed.
Romeo reached out his hand. The wound on the web of his thumb was red and painful. Although the wound was no longer bleeding, it had become infected and swollen due to the poor environment.
But Romeo had no choice.
The Omega did not come over, but that didn’t mean his pheromones wouldn’t. Pheromones were pervasive, blending into the air. As Romeo was in a daze, the feeling quickly returned.
Romeo did not hesitate. He didn’t even bother to look at the Omega. He raised his other hand and bit down on the back of it.
The pain and the smell of blood swept through his brain, but it also made him more awake.
Was he really awake? He was suddenly a little confused. In a daze, he heard a familiar voice call his name.
“Romeo, let go!”
He saw the cage open, and then Wen En’s face appeared before him. Wen En was frowning, looking serious and confused.
Romeo felt a strong force on his chin.
“I’ll say it again, let go,” Wen En said, his fingers forcefully prying open Romeo’s mouth to prevent him from biting his own hand again.
Romeo did let go. But for some reason, he looked very defiant, as if he was annoyed that Wen En was being too nosy.
Wen En was speechless, but when he saw the self-inflicted bite marks on Romeo’s hand… Forget it, this kid is really ruthless to himself. Wen En couldn’t be bothered to argue with him.
The strong Alpha and Omega pheromones in this room made even a Beta like Wen En feel uncomfortable. When Wen En had served in the army, he had also seen an Alpha run into an Omega’s heat. The scene was quite exaggerated. Wen En and two other strong Betas had to use all their strength to pull the Alpha off the Omega.
Fortunately, the Omega was not harmed in the end. The Omega was a military doctor and was later transferred to another area. The Alpha soldier was given a major demerit, demoted, and had to undergo retraining to control his pheromones. According to the laws of the Interstellar Federation Army, if the Alpha had really not been able to hold back and had raped the Omega, he would have been discharged from the army and imprisoned.
—The reason for such strictness was, one, because soldiers represented the face and weapons of the Interstellar Federation Empire, and two, because every citizen, before becoming a formal soldier, had to undergo half a year of adaptation and physical training, which included how to control their desires and not become a beast dominated by the instinct of heat.
And Romeo, Wen En looked at Romeo. He was one hundred percent sure that Romeo had never received any relevant training. His method of control was also simple and crude. Wen En looked down at a certain hill that had become a peak. Uh, the effect is limited.
“Don’t bite your own hand anymore, okay?” Wen En said. “Please bear with it. I’ll help you find an inhibitor.”
“…”
The corners of Romeo’s mouth turned down, as if he was not satisfied with Wen En’s words.
“No,” Romeo refused.
“What do you want?” Wen En lost his patience. He would not coddle Romeo. He said sternly, “Oh, you don’t have a choice.”
“I mean, I want you,” Romeo stared into Wen En’s eyes and said. He didn’t know if it was because he was hungry or what, but Romeo felt a cramp in his lower abdomen, an indescribable discomfort.
Damn it! I want to release it!
Hearing his crazy words, Wen En’s face contorted as if he were constipated. “Huh?! Are you serious?”
He can get into heat over this?! Oh, no, Romeo is in heat right now, so it’s not surprising that he would say such a thing… as long as the object of his words is not Wen En!
“Then I’ll say it one last time,” Romeo said, word by word, “Wen En, I want to take off your clothes and f**k you.”
Wen En: …
The Omega on the side covered his mouth: o(╯□╰)o
This was definitely the worst thing he had ever heard in his life. And why did he suddenly switch to another language? Was he ashamed? If he still had a sense of shame, then he shouldn’t have said it!!!
Seeing Wen En’s look of disbelief, Romeo couldn’t wait any longer.
He no longer hesitated and pounced, directly kissing the lips of this unromantic, straight-as-a-steel-bar Beta.
“Mmmph!!!”
But Romeo was too impulsive. He couldn’t stop in time, and the two of them rolled together.
Wen En looked at the Alpha on top of him, felt the branch pressing against his waist, and his vision went black.
Alpha stereotype +1
“I’m sorry, did I hurt you?” The Alpha looked extremely wronged, as if Wen En had pushed him first.
Calm down, calm down. After all, he was in heat right now. His intelligence level might have dropped to the same level as his dog, Jack, due to the sex hormones. Wen En could only comfort himself this way. Don’t argue with a stupid dog. It’s just a stupid dog, not a working dog…
“Yes, it hurts a little,” Wen En forced a smile, and at the same time, he softened his tone, trying to sound as gentle as possible. “Can you get up first, please?”
“No…” The Alpha’s eyes grew redder as he spoke, as if Wen En had said something harsh. “You’re not mad at me, are you? Please don’t be mad at me…”
“I’m not mad at you,” Wen En patted the Alpha’s waist and said, “Get off me first.”
“Really?” Romeo said, looking wronged.
“Yes, really, really,” Wen En tried to smile.
“That’s good,” Romeo suddenly gave a cunning smile.
The next moment, Romeo bit the Beta’s lips again.
Wen En: ???
This brat is acting like a white lotus again!!
“Bang—”
Wen En raised his fist with a blank expression, while Romeo sat next to him, clutching his face, his eyes teary.
Wen En smiled, but Romeo, with his sharp Alpha intuition, sensed a dangerous aura from his smile, like an antelope drinking by a lake, while a crocodile lurked beneath the surface.
“Did you think I was joking just now?” Wen En’s smile was laced with menace.
Romeo shook his head frantically.
“Then why didn’t you take what I said seriously? Hmm?” Wen En waved his fist.
Romeo: “I was wrong, Wen En, I was wrong… Ah! It hurts, ugh, ugh, ugh…”
Wen En: “I haven’t hit you yet.”
Romeo: “Oh, oh, oh.”
Romeo touched his nose. “Hahahaha, I almost thought you were going to hit me again. Wen En, you’re really the gentlest Beta I’ve ever met in my life.”
Wen En smiled. “You’d better not be sarcastic.”
Romeo: “Haha, how could I be?”
Wen En rolled his eyes. He couldn’t be bothered with Romeo anymore. He walked to the cage and said to the Omega who was sitting in the cage, trembling:
“Come on out.”
“Me?” The Omega pointed at himself, a little in disbelief.
“Yes, let’s go. Let’s leave this place together,” Wen En said with a smile.
Romeo, on the side: ???
No, isn’t Wen En’s attitude towards the Omega a little too good?
Why is Wen En treating them differently?
