Chapter 24 p2
A green trash can filled to the brim.
“Time for buns! Steaming hot buns!” Father Jiang came back with a big bag of buns and called out in the living room.
Bai Xiaocha ran out, “Grandpa, I’m coming.”
Five people sat around the dining table and ate together. He Renyuan touched the peanut milk, it wasn’t too hot, and put a straw in it for Bai Xiaocha to drink.
The morning news was on TV, and the small apartment was filled with a warm atmosphere.
He Renyuan’s heart was slightly touched, and he had the idea of taking Bai Xiaocha and Bai Qingyu back to the He family to show his parents.
He and the Jiang family were strangers, yet they could sit together and have breakfast. It seemed that as long as they got along, they could become a family.
“Is there a portion for me?” Xu Zhao also came early, pulled up a chair familiarly, and asked Bai Qingyu if he was going to the He family.
“Professor Jiang asked me to make sure to see you off.”
Xu Zhao confirmed with He Renyuan, “Does Uncle He know about Cha Bao?”
He Renyuan nodded, he was going to let his father meet Cha Bao, his parents would definitely like him.
After breakfast, Cha Bao said goodbye to his grandparents and got into Uncle Xu Zhao’s car.
He Renyuan’s car was transporting the trash can.
He Renyuan: “…” What was wrong with the trash can? It could hold so much.
Xu Zhao grandly sent Bai Qingyu and Bai Xiaocha to the He family. Before getting out of the car, he took out a red envelope, “Professor Jiang gave this to Cha Bao.”
Bai Qingyu, “Why?”
Xu Zhao, “He said that if Cha Bao could make the elders stop thinking about having grandchildren, he would give Cha Bao a salary of five thousand.”
Bai Qingyu, “Can the red envelope be exchanged for the perfume in your car?”
Xu Zhao pointed at the green tea car air freshener, “This?”
Bai Qingyu, “Yes.” This was the best artificial green tea scent he had ever smelled. If He Renyuan became suspicious in the future, he would say it was perfume.
Xu Zhao stuffed both the perfume and the red envelope over, “The perfume is for you, the red envelope is for Cha Bao.”
Housekeeper Qi Yun was waiting at the door. Seeing a car stop, he hurried over and found that it was actually Young Master Xu who got out.
Xu Zhao got out of the car, cleared his throat, and said, “Qingyu and Cha Bao are my lifesavers. From now on, their business is my business. Mr. Housekeeper, if anyone bullies them, please let me know.”
The housekeeper, “Don’t worry, no one in the He family will bully Qingyu.”
“That’s good.” Xu Zhao finished his act, “Then I’ll be going, I still have class later.”
Bai Qingyu was reminded by him and remembered that Bai Xiaocha also had class. It was Friday, and if he didn’t go to school today, it would be the weekend again.
He Renyuan arrived a step later, carrying the trash can, “You go and rest, I’ll drop Cha Bao off at school on my way to work.”
Bai Qingyu, “I’m not tired.”
He Renyuan frowned, “Don’t push yourself, how can you not be tired after climbing a mountain?”
Bai Qingyu paused. Should he be tired? Having extraordinary stamina would also be suspicious, so he might as well pretend.
“Okay, then I’ll go check on the hens.”
Bai Qingyu couldn’t wait to go with the housekeeper to check on the sick hens.
The housekeeper said worriedly, “They wouldn’t eat anything I fed them this morning, you should try.”
The He family’s chicken coop was more than five times larger, with a henhouse and a fence. The three hens clucked and ran over as soon as they saw Bai Qingyu.
Bai Qingyu scattered a handful of rice, and the hens scrambled to peck at it, their beaks working like pile drivers.
The housekeeper’s eyes showed surprise at the right moment, “It has to be you, Qingyu. They eat as soon as you feed them. Even the young master can’t do anything about them. The family can’t do without you.”
Bai Qingyu’s lips curled up, “Really? The young master is too fierce, even the chickens are afraid.”
He Renyuan wanted to send Bai Xiaocha to school, so he didn’t drive himself. He sat in the back seat with Bai Xiaocha, reading a story while sending a message to He Wangzhong.
[He Renyuan]: I’ve acknowledged a nephew.
He Wangzhong: Son, I heard you’re being an uncle for someone? I didn’t know I had a daughter.
He Wangzhong’s message came in at the same time. He Renyuan wondered, how did he get the news so quickly?
[He Renyuan]: I’ll bring him to see you when the time comes, you’ll understand. Please treat him as your grandson in advance.
He Wangzhong: Alright, Old Xu just came to congratulate me and even gave me a valuable gift. I was confused.
[He Renyuan]: I see, thank the Xu family for me.
He Wangzhong: Of course.
His son naturally had his reasons for doing things, maybe it was related to business.
He Wangzhong pretended to understand and accepted the neighbor’s gift, “Old Xu, you’re too polite, we’ve known each other for decades, there’s no need for gifts.”
Xu Yuan was sent by his youngest son and was also sincerely congratulating his old friend, “Haven’t you always wanted to hold a grandson? A grandson from your daughter’s side is still a grandson, you should cherish him. I haven’t even held one yet. I heard the child is almost two years old, we should have a belated first birthday celebration.”
He Wangzhong said cheerfully, “Next time Ah Yuan brings him back, let’s have dinner together.”
Xu Yuan, “Definitely. Xu Zhao said he looks just like your grandson, very well-behaved.”
He Wangzhong didn’t take these words to heart, after all, it sounded like polite talk, “Of course, my grandson is naturally well-behaved.”
After seeing Xu Yuan off, He Wangzhong took out his phone, just as he was about to ask for details, He Renyuan’s housekeeper sent him a piece of information.
[Qi Yun]: Chairman, the young master has been in a good mood and has a good appetite recently. You can continue making delicious food.
He Renyuan was in such a bad mood the past two days that he couldn’t eat, and today he was better. It seemed that this little child was the key.
Was it because this little boy facilitated some big contract?
Anyway, he could show off his skills again.
“Take out Madam’s bird’s nest!”
In the afternoon, just as Bai Qingyu was about to leave to pick up Bai Xiaocha, he received a call from He Renyuan.
“I’m leaving work early today and will pick him up on the way.”
“Oh, thank you, young master.”
There was a bit of traffic. He Renyuan arrived home at exactly four o’clock.
The housekeeper took Cha Bao’s backpack, “Cha Bao, are you hungry?”
Cha Bao, “Baby’s not hungry, Grandpa.”
The kindergarten had a conscience today and improved the food. They even provided a meal before school ended.
Cha Bao now ate three meals a day at kindergarten, and he ate heartily every time.
He Renyuan led Cha Bao into the house, recounting the food he had eaten today.
When passing by the mute sisters and Jiang Mengmeng, he noticed their admiring gazes.
What?
He Renyuan used to only see awe in the eyes of these three sisters. Was it because he effortlessly brought Cha Bao back?
He had to say, it felt good.
The housekeeper brought a bowl of bird’s nest with fruit, “This is from the chairman.”
The portion was large enough for the young master to eat too.
He Renyuan, “Where’s Bai Qingyu?”
The housekeeper, “Feeding the chickens.”
He Renyuan, “Call him to come and eat.”
He Renyuan took out three small bowls and divided the bird’s nest. He added milk, strawberries, and papaya to it. Judging by the mix, it was something Bai Xiaocha would like.
“Sweet things with sweet things, it’s delicious when mixed.”
“Sweet things with sweet things!” Bai Xiaocha held the spoon, waiting for his dad to come and start eating.
After finishing the bird’s nest, Bai Qingyu took Bai Xiaocha to see the chicken coop. There were not only three hens, but also a pair of Lady Amherst’s pheasants.
Bai Xiaocha squatted down and fed them millet, playing tirelessly for half an hour, then suddenly shouted, “Dad, Baby’s itchy.”
Bai Qingyu saw him scratching his arm and hurried over, “Did a bug bite you?”
He rolled up Bai Xiaocha’s sleeve and saw a red rash, on both his left and right arms, unevenly distributed, without a fixed pattern, clearly not a bug bite.
What was going on?!
Bai Qingyu didn’t bother to find out the reason and directly placed his hand on Bai Xiaocha’s arm with the rash, his divine power pouring out, seeping into his skin. Soon, the rash disappeared, and Cha Bao’s arm became white and tender again.
“Thank you, Dad!”
“It’s okay.” Bai Qingyu closed his eyes and rested for a moment, then recovered.
“Dad will analyze the reason, what did you touch just now?”
Bai Xiaocha, “Nothing, Dad.”
Bai Qingyu carried Bai Xiaocha into the house, away from the chicken coop, and happened to see the housekeeper leading a doctor upstairs.
“What’s wrong?”
The housekeeper stopped, “The young master is having an allergic reaction, he has hives.”
Bai Xiaocha shared without any sense of privacy, “Baby too!”
The housekeeper was stunned, “What, Cha Bao too! The doctor’s initial diagnosis is a bird’s nest allergy. Doctor, please take a look at Cha Bao first, children are more important.”
“So it’s an allergy.” Bai Qingyu murmured. Tea deities weren’t allergic to anything. Bai Xiaocha had eaten too much human food, and his own divine power hadn’t fully developed yet, so there was a possibility of allergies.
“It’s okay, Cha Bao only had a little rash, it’s gone now. Please see the young master first.”
Bai Xiaocha rolled up his sleeves and showed Grandpa Housekeeper, “Baby’s all better!”
The housekeeper saw the insignificant scratch marks on his arm and breathed a sigh of relief. He said to the doctor, “The young master is in the study, please go up quickly.”
Bai Qingyu, “Is the young master’s condition serious?”
The housekeeper, “It’s okay, it’s just his hands, face, and neck that are more serious. Besides the itching, there’s no other discomfort.”
Bai Qingyu frowned worriedly, “I’ll go and see.”
The housekeeper awkwardly stopped him, “The young master said he wants to be quiet for a while.”
Probably because he was afraid the allergy would damage his handsome appearance.
Bai Qingyu looked at Cha Bao in his arms. Alright, he would coax Cha Bao to sleep first and then go see him, so Cha Bao wouldn’t say “It doesn’t itch anymore after Dad touches it” in front of He Renyuan again.
Bai Qingyu carried the child to the third floor.
The housekeeper looked at the father and son’s backs, vaguely feeling that something was too coincidental.
Three people ate bird’s nest, two people had an allergic reaction.
The two who were allergic, one big and one small, were not father and son. Was this reasonable?!
And the two who were allergic also looked alike.
The housekeeper had a big guess in his heart, but as a housekeeper, he couldn’t make the decision himself, he had to find a helper.
He had a brainwave and sent Cha Bao’s photo to the chairman. Since the young master had already planned for the whole family to meet, it wouldn’t hurt to let him see the photo in advance.
[Chairman, this is the nephew the young master acknowledged.]
