Chapter 26
The busy father and sons of the Shen family left for work, while the little busybody, Shen Tiantian, stayed at home to prepare for his grandma’s arrival.
First, Shen Tiantian inspected the lawn.
The sunlight dyed the lawn a sparkling golden yellow, making the green even more translucent. The air was filled with the pleasant, fresh scent of grass and trees.
Shen Tiantian trotted around the lawn on his short little legs. After confirming that there were no ugly little weeds mixed in, the looks-supremacist little cub was very satisfied.
Just as he was about to go to the back garden to check on the sunroom and the swimming pool, Shen Tiantian turned around and heard his cousin’s voice.
“Tiantian!”
Although his cousin had become strange, Shen Tiantian considered himself a big-hearted child and could tolerate him.
Tiantian bared his white teeth, flashed a bright smile, and bounced over to his cousin.
“I’m here. Why are you here, cousin?”
His cousin ran in from the door, a thin layer of sweat on his brow. Without wiping it, he quickly took Shen Tiantian’s hand, avoided Auntie Mu who was not far away, and whispered:
“You know that Grandma is bringing a child over, right?”
Shen Tiantian nodded, the stubborn tuft of hair on his little head bobbing happily. The little cub was like a sweet popping candy, lively and bouncing around.
“I know. Grandma is bringing me a hen to eat. I’m going to grow tall and be taller than my two annoying brothers!”
At this, Shen Tiantian got angry again.
“Cousin, my two brothers, they… they are so, so bad. Today, they almost sawed off my head!”
As Shen Tiantian spoke, his little expression was vivid, his eyes filled with terror as he recounted the morning’s events.
“It scared me to death. Luckily, I’m super, super, super~ awesome! I gave them a punch here, and a kick there…”
Ye Jiabao couldn’t be bothered to listen to Shen Tiantian’s exaggerated description and told him to stop.
“Alright, alright, I know. We’re talking about Grandma now. Can you not go off-topic?”
He wasn’t interested in the story of Shen Tiantian fighting two evil brothers at all!
Shen Tiantian said “oh,” nodded, and obediently picked at his little hands.
“Okay, what’s up with Grandma?”
Ye Jiabao was completely speechless at this clueless, foolish cub.
Why does he only know about Grandma? The main point is the little male lead that Grandma is bringing, okay!
“Grandma is bringing a little boy. Tiantian, you must remember, that child is not a good person. He’s even worse than your two brothers!”
Shen Tiantian immediately took a sharp, exaggerated breath. His entire little tummy was sucked in as if all the air had been taken out, instantly deflating and losing its round curve.
“Worse than my brothers?”
Ye Jiabao smiled and nodded affirmatively. “That’s right!”
“And that child will also hinder you from taking over the company. He might even destroy the company you worked so hard to get in the future!”
In Shen Tiantian’s little brain, the number one priority was seizing control of the company.
He had to inherit the company before he turned five.
“This child, why is he so bad!”
Tiantian furrowed his little brows, put his hands on his hips, and huffed a breath out of his little nose.
Ye Jiabao continued to add fuel to the fire. “That’s right, he’s that bad. And Grandma is even letting him live with you. You must not be deceived by him!”
Tiantian shook his head, his round, bright pupils filled with a small sense of triumph.
“I won’t. I’m very smart. I won’t be deceived by anyone.”
Ye Jiabao sneered. Smart my ass, he thought.
Let’s see how you’ll be a child star in the future after you offend the little male lead!
Ye Jiabao’s eyes darted around. Still not feeling at ease, he put on a righteous expression and patted his little chest.
“It’s okay. I’ll wait with you for Grandma to come and help you defeat this bad child!”
Tiantian nodded, his little feet impatiently stomping on the spot a couple of times. He clenched his little fists and said:
“Okay! Then, cousin, let’s go to the back garden first and check on the flowers!”
Tiantian was also very busy. Before Grandma arrived, he had to make sure that the flowers in the sunroom were all growing obediently.
Ye Jiabao didn’t want to do these boring things. There were no live cameras today, so he waved his hand and walked towards the living room.
“No, I’m exhausted from running all the way here. I’m going to lie down for a while.”
Ye Jiabao knew that the three Shen family men would definitely not be at home during the day.
These three were natural workaholics. Seeing them during the day was as likely as seeing a ghost.
So Ye Jiabao sat down on the sofa with a clear conscience and enjoyed the refreshments and little snacks.
Shen Tiantian looked at his lazy cousin, shrugged his little shoulders, and sighed helplessly. He could only go to the sunroom by himself and check if the flowers were growing properly.
The sunroom was taken care of by an uncle who had graduated with a degree in horticulture. The temperature inside was comfortable, and some out-of-season flowers were also blooming well.
Shen Tiantian was a cub who valued looks in all aspects. He walked back and forth in the sunroom, and finally, with his little bottom in the air, he struggled to move the flower pots, placing the large, gorgeous flowers at the entrance.
The flowers with small, scattered petals were pushed to the back.
After doing all this, Shen Tiantian let out a long sigh, wiped his sweat, and felt a great sense of accomplishment.
He squatted in front of the flower pots and said seriously to the flowers with small petals:
“You’re not being serious. You’re not growing beautifully anymore. The flowers you’re blooming are so small. You have to work harder in the future.”
After saying that, without caring whether the flowers understood or not, he ran off on his own.
Shen Tiantian then ran to the guest room that Auntie Mu had prepared for his grandma, patted the pillow, and then peered at the window, holding onto the table.
Seeing him inspect so meticulously, Auntie Mu smiled and asked:
“Sister Zhang already came to clean this morning. If Tiantian sees anything missing, I’ll go and get it.”
Tiantian’s little eyes darted around. He turned his head and said:
“A sweet little cheese bread is missing. Can you get it, Auntie Mu-Mu? I’ll put it on the table for Grandma.”
Auntie Mu suppressed a laugh and teased:
“Are you putting it on the table for Grandma, or in your mouth?”
Tiantian hummed. He wasn’t angry at being exposed and ran out with a red little face.
After a busy morning of inspecting the house, Shen Tiantian was so tired his little feet could barely move.
Fortunately, just before lunchtime, Grandma finally arrived with large and small bags.
Grandma was wearing a cotton coat that looked a bit dated and black cloth cotton shoes. It wasn’t quite winter yet, but she had already wrapped her head in a scarf, afraid of catching a cold.
She was carrying a large cloth bag and also had two hens tied with hemp rope in her hand. The wrinkles at the corners of her eyes were like a blooming chrysanthemum, and she smiled before she even spoke.
When Shen Tiantian saw his grandma, whom he hadn’t seen in a long time, he quickly flew over and hugged her leg.
“Grandma, wuwu~”
Grandma’s heart ached for her little grandson. She quickly put down the large package and reached out to hug Tiantian.
“Tiantian has grown so big. When Grandma left, you were only up to my knees, always following me around, asking for roasted oranges to eat.”
Tiantian reached out and wiped away his tears, took his grandma’s hand, and led her into the villa.
“Grandma, the chef uncle has made a lot of food. We don’t have to be hungry anymore~”
Grandma said “yes” several times, carrying her large package, her eyes moist.
In the past, she couldn’t earn money, and only relied on Tiantian’s mother’s work. It was really hard to raise a child.
When Tiantian was little, he had often cried about being hungry.
Thinking of this, Grandma couldn’t help but look up at Tiantian’s father’s villa.
As expected of a king-level villa in the city. Just looking at it was enough to feel the luxury. The floor tiles underfoot were so shiny they reflected one’s image, and the paintings casually hanging on the walls were all priceless.
The more Grandma looked, the more her brows relaxed. The thought of her little grandson being able to live the life of a precious young master in the future made her heart feel more at ease.
Thinking of her daughter who had died unexpectedly, Grandma couldn’t help but sigh, thinking that fate was truly unfair.
The luxury of the villa was beyond Grandma’s imagination, making her feel that her shabby package and old hens were a bit out of place.
But Tiantian had already dragged the tightly bound old hens and, with a wide grin, trotted off to the kitchen.
“Chef uncle, I want to eat the hen that Grandma brought. After eating it, I’ll grow as tall as my brothers!”
The chef uncle laughed, nodded, and took the old hens to boil water and pluck them.
Grandma followed him in and said:
“There are two. Leave one for Tiantian’s father to eat.”
Grandma had her own thoughts. She thought that if Shen Yuanchuan ate the fat old hen raised in the countryside, he might pay more attention to Tiantian and not let him be bullied by others.
The chef acknowledged.
Tiantian was drooling. He couldn’t wait and paced back and forth in the dining room, not in the mood to eat any other food.
It was Grandma who felt sorry for him. She picked him up and fed him a couple of mouthfuls of rice.
As soon as the food entered his mouth, Shen Tiantian instantly forgot everything else. He sat back in his baby chair and obediently scooped up rice to eat.
Ye Jiabao, who had been playing computer games upstairs, came down. Seeing that Grandma and Qin Ye had arrived, his eyes darted around a couple of times.
Ye Jiabao’s gaze then fell on Shen Tiantian. Seeing this little fool wolfing down his food, completely ignoring the little male lead, Qin Ye, he was so angry his head ached.
He ran over, sat down next to Shen Tiantian, and gave Shen Tiantian’s arm a hard nudge with his elbow.
The spoon with which Shen Tiantian was scooping up meat was knocked, and the delicious meat slipped off the spoon and fell onto the table with a plop.
Shen Tiantian quickly picked up the meat with his small hand and stuffed it into his mouth with great regret.
Turning his head, Shen Tiantian looked at Ye Jiabao with a reproachful little gaze. Although his mouth was stuffed full, he still managed to educate his cousin with slurred words:
“Cousin, you can’t… touch people when you’re eating. It’s not polite, and you’ll knock the meat off.”
Ye Jiabao was speechless on the spot.
He could only frantically give Shen Tiantian a look, trying to get him to pay attention to Qin Ye, who was sitting opposite him.
But Shen Tiantian, seeing his contorted face, blinked a few times and quickly moved his little bottom a little further away from his strange cousin.
Qin Ye, who had been sitting opposite and ignored all this time, was meticulous and sensitive. He naturally noticed the dislike hidden in Ye Jiabao’s eyes.
Following Ye Jiabao’s gaze, Qin Ye also silently sized up Shen Tiantian, who was eating.
This was the thigh he had to hug in the future.
Shen Tiantian had a lot of flesh on his cheeks, and his round, large, obsidian-like eyes were extremely outstanding, attracting one’s attention at first glance.
His eyes were very clean, like the sky Qin Ye had seen, without a single impurity.
He had a slight nasal tone when he spoke, and would occasionally mispronounce words. His voice was soft and sweet, a bit like the brown sugar cake Qin Ye had eaten once, very sweet.
He was also very focused when he ate, completely unaffected by the outside world.
Grandma called him several times before he looked up from his rice bowl and asked in confusion:
“What is it, Grandma?”
Grandma gave him some vegetables. Her old, calloused hand ruffled Shen Tiantian’s hair, her expression loving.
“Tiantian, eat some vegetables.”
Tiantian looked at the green vegetables in his bowl, and his face also turned the color of vegetables.
