Chapter 37
The game began.
Shen Tiantian, wearing the large blue waterproof raincoat that a staff member’s older sister had put on him, had a tense little face as he carefully transported the beans with a ping-pong paddle.
His little expression was serious and earnest. His usually round little belly was now sucked in tightly.
Xiaowan stood behind, looking at her little brother Tiantian’s stout, toddler-sized body. The large raincoat covered him, making it hard to even see where his little feet were.
But Xiaowan still felt that at this moment, her little brother Tiantian seemed to be glowing.
Xiaowan’s eyes couldn’t help but sting a little. She took two deep breaths and silently cheered herself on.
If little brother Tiantian can do it, she can too!
On the other side, the first to go in the parent group was Qi Nanhuai.
He was very good at performing. Knowing that the most important thing in this kind of game was the variety show feel, he dropped half of the beans from his ping-pong paddle when he passed the first obstacle.
“Hey, hey, hey!” he shouted twice, putting on a heartbroken and devastated expression.
Shen Tiantian, who was two steps away from him, turned his head. Seeing Uncle Qi drop a bunch of little beans, a sparkling light appeared in his eyes.
The rules said that you couldn’t pick up the beans you dropped yourself.
But these were beans that someone else had dropped.
Shen Tiantian stopped for two seconds, then resolutely walked to where Qi Nanhuai had just been standing, squatted down carefully, and picked up the beans on the ground.
He picked up most of them and happily placed them all on his ping-pong paddle.
The director, who was watching the game from the side, was dumbfounded. He was stunned for a moment, thinking, What kind of move is this?
The several children in the baby group were all shouting and cheering for Tiantian with all their might.
“Tiantian, pick up more!”
“Pick up all the beans!”
The one shouting the loudest was Qi Nanhuai’s son, Zhaozhao. His face was flushed, and in his excitement, he had completely forgotten that these were his father’s beans.
The rest of the parent group couldn’t help but laugh and asked the director if this was considered a foul.
The director quickly took the megaphone and shouted at Shen Tiantian from outside the yellow line:
“Tiantian, you can’t pick up the beans that others have dropped on the ground either! This doesn’t count towards your score!”
After being called out a few times, Shen Tiantian finally pouted, huffed, and threw the beans back.
The director uncle is just afraid of him winning.
After two or three obstacles, Shen Tiantian finally reached the water gun section.
Several staff members with water guns stood outside the track, spraying water at the guests.
Qi Nanhuai was walking fast, but at this moment, he was also trapped in the water gun section. He had been sprayed several times, and his face was also covered in water.
The most troublesome part was that the ground was also covered in water, and it was easy to slip.
Qi Nanhuai, who didn’t have many beans left to begin with, now only had a pitiful few left.
Shen Tiantian had been walking very steadily, and there were still quite a few beans left on his ping-pong paddle.
But in the next second, Tiantian was sprayed in the face by a big sister with a water gun. His eyes instinctively closed, his little feet swayed, and several beans instantly fell.
Shen Tiantian: !!
His beans were gone!
Shen Tiantian stood there, his lashes wet. His already dark, moist, and bright eyes, stained with water, seemed to have turned into a clear, gurgling stream.
Shen Tiantian pressed his lips together and thought for a moment, then simply lay down and crawled forward.
This was much more stable than standing and walking.
Even if the ground was covered in water, he didn’t have to worry about slipping and accidentally twisting his ankle and dropping the beans.
Qi Nanhuai, next to him, was still struggling forward under the attack of the water guns. He glanced to the side and found a wriggling caterpillar Tiantian beside him.
Holy crap.
You can do that? Qi Nanhuai thought.
But Qi Nanhuai had debuted as an idol and really couldn’t let go of his idol’s burden. He gritted his teeth, thought for a moment, and still chose to brave it and walk forward.
And Shen Tiantian, who was crawling forward, was much faster than when he was walking.
Don’t be fooled by the fact that Shen Tiantian’s two little feet were smaller than a person’s hand. He wiggled his little bottom, and when he pushed off, he was as fast as a nimble little gecko.
In the end, he even surpassed Qi Nanhuai and reached the finish line a step faster.
In the parent group, from the moment Shen Tiantian started picking up beans, Shen Xiuze’s heart had been trembling with cuteness. He couldn’t help but take out his phone to record.
Until Shen Tiantian crossed the finish line, the smile on Shen Xiuze’s lips never stopped.
The corners of his eyes and brows were like melting winter snow, as if the ice had been broken in an instant, giving people a warm illusion.
The film empress Guan Miao, who was next to him, saw Shen Xiuze’s expression and couldn’t help but be surprised.
It seems that the relationship between the Shen brothers is quite good?
At the finish line, Shen Tiantian poured the beans into the small bucket, squatted down to count them, and there were a full eight!
And Qi Nanhuai, next to him, was miserable, with only a pitiful two left.
Shen Tiantian held a small towel, not even having time to wipe his face. Water dripped from his long lashes, and he pressed his lips together and giggled.
It was a staff member’s older sister who was afraid he would catch a cold. She quickly came over and helped him dry the water on his face and hair with a towel.
After drying his hair, Shen Tiantian’s hair was sticking up in all directions, turning him into a messy and dazed little cub.
When the director next to him saw this, he quickly had the camera give him a close-up.
But Shen Tiantian was completely unaware. He stood at the finish line, used his hands as a small megaphone, and cheered for the next contestant, big sister Xiaowan.
With the even smaller Tiantian as a template in front of her, an infinite courage burst forth in Xiaowan’s heart, and she passed through several obstacles with a fierce momentum.
When she reached the water gun section, she also followed his example, lay down, and crawled forward with the ping-pong paddle.
Not just her, but all the children behind her followed Tiantian’s lead, transforming into little geckos and crawling to the finish line.
The parent group was much more miserable.
They were not as unrestrained as the children, and there were two celebrities among the parents who really didn’t want to make a fool of themselves on camera. They all braved the attack of the water guns.
Shen Xiuze was the last to go.
The same large waterproof raincoat, which made others look fat and round, looked like some high-end coat on him.
Shen Xiuze’s pace was unhurried. When he passed the water gun section, he was still silently calculating the time in his heart, and he wasn’t very wet after walking halfway.
This won’t do, the director thought. There’s no highlight.
He coughed twice and frantically gestured to the staff, telling them to increase the intensity.
In the next second, water slid down Shen Xiuze’s face, wetting the hair on his forehead and his eyelashes, sliding down his fair neck, and slowly disappearing into his collar.
Shen Xiuze wiped the water from his face with his hand, pushed his wet hair back, revealing his clear forehead.
He smiled, a hint of helplessness in his eyes.
“Can you not aim for my face?”
The director, however, couldn’t help but suck in a breath. This is a sure thing! he thought.
When it airs, it will definitely attract a group of looks-supremacist fans!
Shen Xiuze walked to the finish line and saw Shen Tiantian holding a small bucket, impatiently stomping his little feet, his eyes shining with anticipation as he looked at him.
“Big brother, big brother, over here, over here! Pour it into the small bucket!”
Shen Xiuze’s smile deepened, and his dark eyes softened in an instant, making him seem as if he had fallen from the heavens to the mortal world.
“That won’t do, you little bad egg. This is your group’s bucket.”
Shen Xiuze saw through the little one’s little scheme at a glance. He pressed his lips together, suppressed a smile, and found the parent group’s small bucket.
Shen Tiantian, next to him, was still circling around him, looking up with his soft little face, and tugging on his sleeve.
“Big brother, you’re the best big brother in the world. Can you share the beans with us?”
Shen Xiuze tried his best to keep his lips straight, but an infinite smile still shone through his eyes, and his voice softened a lot.
“If I don’t give you the beans, I’m not the best big brother in the world anymore?”
Shen Tiantian rubbed his little face against him and even pressed his chubby little face against his neck, saying in a milky voice:
“Big brother! You’re the best, the best!”
Shen Xiuze held the little one’s chubby little body to prevent him from falling, the smile on his lips not diminishing.
“No, this is a game, so it should be a fair competition. Otherwise, it would be unfair to the other parents.”
He thought for a moment and added:
“But don’t worry, the parent group doesn’t have many beans. We’re probably going to lose.”
The other parents: “…”
That was a rather cutting truth.
The final result was naturally that the baby group won.
Shen Tiantian was the first to cheer, raising his little fists and bouncing around, just short of wagging his tail and taking off.
Under his lead, the other children also started to jump and cheer.
Each of the winning children received a small gem. In the final episode, the person with the most gems would receive a reward from the production team.
Shen Tiantian happily put the small gem in his pocket. To prevent it from falling out, he would lower his head to touch it every two seconds to make sure the gem was still there.
The physical game was over, and the second game was much simpler.
“This time, the children and parents will be in a group to test your chemistry.”
The game was also very simple. The children would act out, and the parents would guess the word.
The five families would play at the same time, and the group that guessed the most words in the end would win.
As soon as the game started, Shen Tiantian, who was responsible for acting out, scratched his little head, looked at the words on the whiteboard opposite him, tilted his head, and asked:
“What is this word?”
The director had forgotten that Shen Tiantian was a child who had only been to kindergarten for a few days.
The other children were all older than him and knew at least some simple words.
And the words the production team gave were also very simple, like “sky,” “grass,” and the like.
But Shen Tiantian didn’t know how to read at all.
The director was worried for a moment and quickly had a staff member go up, whisper in Shen Tiantian’s ear, and tell him the word directly.
Only then did Shen Tiantian nod and begin his abstract performance, waving his hands and feet.
Shen Xiuze looked at the little bean in front of him, stretching his short little arms and shaking them, his mouth puffed out, his little feet together, looking very cute.
Shen Xiuze’s lips lifted again. He had guessed what it was, but he deliberately said:
“Let me think. Is it a hamster?”
