After eighteen years in hiding, Lin Ling throws off his disguise, ready to run through the streets and celebrate his new position at the top of the food chain.

But the moment he pokes his head out, a cunning human throws a sack over him and carts him away.

Shivering, Lin Ling stares at the mad scientist before him, clad in a white lab coat and holding a syringe. He can already picture his fate on the dissection table.

He trembles and asks tentatively, "Why did you capture me? QAQ"

"You're a stray," the mad scientist replies.

The little zombie is heartbroken. "Do strays have to be captured?"

The man flips through the Novice Pet-Rearing Guide in his hands and offers some comfort. "But you were the liveliest and cutest one in the entire zombie horde."

The mad scientist struggles to think of another reason, then adds, "…One must adopt via abduction."
