Pei Jingyi immediately leaned down and nipped at those soft, beautiful lips. Like a wolf pup cradling its favorite prey, he licked and tasted them repeatedly.
Gu Huaiyu kept his eyes open, staying motionless until Pei’s tongue pried past his pearly teeth, driving deep into his mouth in a chaotic, swirling invasion.
Only then did a muffled, muddled “Mmh…” escape his throat.
Pei Jingyi’s breathing grew heavy as he deepened the kiss. The wet sounds of their clashing tongues were startlingly clear in the silence of the night.
Those dark, deep eyes stared directly into Gu Huaiyu’s. His naked lust was entirely undisguised, looking as though he wanted to strip Gu Huaiyu bare from head to toe right then and there.
Gu Huaiyu’s ears burned under the intensity of that gaze. Finally unable to bear it, he closed his eyes. His pale cheeks flushed a soft red, and his thin chest rose and fell with ragged breaths.
Pei Jingyi pulled back slightly, their noses still touching. His voice was low and filled with a teasing warmth. “The Lord Chancellor’s spit is sweet, and that other place is just as pink and clean… is there any part of the Lord Chancellor’s body that isn’t beautiful?”
Gu Huaiyu slowly opened his eyes, turning his head away in a mix of shame and annoyance. Before his breathing could even steady, he said coldly, “This Chancellor is also very beautiful when he’s killing people.”
Pei Jingyi gave him only that briefest moment to catch his breath before leaning back in to hungrily claim his lips again, tirelessly tasting the inside of his mouth.
Gu Huaiyu’s head was still held firmly in Pei’s palm. He was being kissed into a daze, his body turning soft and heavy as if he had indulged in aged wine. Even his eyelashes felt limp against the heat of their breath.
Pei Jingyi tangled their tongues together with a wet, sucking sound. He leaned even lower, hooking an arm under Gu Huaiyu’s knees and suddenly sweeping him up into a horizontal carry.
In his dizzy state, Gu Huaiyu felt the sudden weightlessness. Before he could push him away or ask what he was doing, his back hit the soft mattress of the bed.
The embroidered bedding cradled the back of his head as Pei Jingyi’s handsome face pressed down again, his burning breath returning to cover Gu Huaiyu’s lips.
Kissing while sitting or kissing while lying down… is there really much difference?
He eventually stopped struggling, allowing Pei Jingyi to pin him down and kiss him endlessly.
It wasn’t until those hot, rough hands untied his belt and slid inside his robes, roaming over the skin of his waist, that the thick calluses began to sting his tender skin.
He realized, through the haze, that something was very wrong.
Pei Jingyi’s hot, wet kisses traveled from his lips to his jaw, then down to his fair, slender neck, before finally climbing inch by inch to his earlobe. He lightly bit the tip of an ear that was red enough to bleed.
His heavy, ragged breathing fanned against Gu Huaiyu’s ear. “Lord Chancellor, why don’t you just kill me now? Use your… take me in, and let me die on your bed.”
Gu Huaiyu was still somewhat lost in the passion, his body flushed with heat. He was still sluggishly trying to process what that sentence actually meant when the thing poking against his leg made him bolt upright with a jolt.
The staggering weight of it made his body tremble. Pei Jingyi’s self-proclaimed “Wolf-Tooth Lance” truly lived up to its reputation.
“Get off!” He shoved against those solid shoulders, a chill racing up his spine that made his very scalp tingle.
With that terrifying size… could it really fit?
Pei Jingyi braced himself on one hand beside Gu Huaiyu’s ear, staring down at him with dark, intense eyes. “What is it, Lord Chancellor?”
Gu Huaiyu had fully regained his senses. The flush on his face faded as his gaze flickered downward. “That thing of yours—”
“It’s not as if the Lord Chancellor hasn’t touched it before.” Pei Jingyi looked down at his own crotch with a look of mock grievance, even reaching down to brazenly give it a squeeze. “It’s an old acquaintance of yours. Why are you only just now complaining that it looks too fierce?”
Gu Huaiyu had no desire to argue semantics. To protect his dignity—and his backside—he closed his eyes and said coldly, “I permitted you to kiss me. When did I ever grant you leave to do this?”
Pei Jingyi was shamelessly honest, letting out a fake sigh of helplessness. “My passions are difficult to restrain. I beg the Lord Chancellor’s forgiveness.”
Gu Huaiyu suddenly rolled over to face the wall, burying his burning face into the soft pillow. “Get out… come back when it’s settled down.”
Instead, Pei Jingyi lay down beside him, crossing his arms behind his head. He watched Gu Huaiyu with a burning gaze. “If I’m not holding the Lord Chancellor, it will behave itself eventually.”
Gu Huaiyu glanced at him, his swollen lips pressed tight, and said nothing more.
The two lay in silence, their overlapping breaths clear in the quiet night.

Pei Jingyi did not reveal his plan to extract the “Heshuo City” thorn to anyone.
The first battle had proven his strength; his title as Grand Marshal was well-deserved, and no one dared to question him further.
Over the next two weeks, he sent out a small squad of several dozen cavalrymen every day specifically to hurl insults at the walls of Heshuo City—in the Eastern Liao tongue.
They didn’t target just anyone; they focused entirely on the commanding general, Xiao Chifeng, calling him a spineless coward.
