Recently, due to a bug when splitting chapters, it was only possible to upload using whole numbers, which is why recent releases ended up with a higher chapter number than the actual chapter number. The chapters already uploaded and their respective novels can no longer be fixed unless we edit and re-upload them chapter by chapter(Chapters content are okay, just the number in the list is incorrect), but that would take a lot of time. Therefore, those uploaded in that way will remain as they are. The bug has been fixed(lasted 1 day), as seen with the recently uploaded novels, which can be split into parts and everything works as usual. From now on, all new content will be uploaded in correct order as before the bug happens. If time permits in the future, we may attempt to reorganize the previously affected chapters.

Chapter 3 Part 2

“It hurts, it hurts!” Shen Zuwei’s face turned pale, his body instinctively shrinking downward. Perhaps the image of the previous Chu Yi being easy to bully was too ingrained; while shouting in pain, he blustered fiercely: “Let… let go, let go! Chu Yi, I fucking warn you, let go of me now! It’s just a bowl of Stir-fried Rice Noodles; you’ve got money now and you’re still so stingy? If you don’t let go, do you not want to borrow my Extra Actor Permit anymore?”

“Who’s your ‘old man’?” Chu Yi’s voice was cold and stern as he tightened his grip on Shen Zuwei’s wrist pulse, making cold sweat break out on him.

“I-I… I’m your old man, you’re my old man, okay?” Finally, Shen Zuwei could not hold out and took the initiative to beg for mercy.

Chu Yi released his hand, but Shen Zuwei quickly swung a fist at him: “Bastard!”

Chu Yi was prepared. He lifted his long leg and precisely kicked him out the door. Although his body was slim, it had been honed by years of labor, unlike Shen Zuwei, who had wasted away sitting in front of a computer.

He had avoided him earlier because he had not eaten; now full and with restored strength, Shen Zuwei seeking trouble was asking for it.

Shen Zuwei painfully clutched his stomach, still not forgetting to hurl threats: “Fine, you’ve got guts, burning bridges after crossing the river. Don’t ever come begging to me in the future!”

But he was all bark and no bite; he was actually scared inside. After the threats, he crawled up from the ground and scurried back to his own room, slamming the door behind him.

Chu Yi was not worried at all. Shen Zuwei was the typical lazybones who bullied the weak and feared the strong. Previously, he had targeted the original owner because he was easy to bully and needed something from him, constantly pressuring and tormenting him.

Not only did the original owner wash his clothes and buy his meals before, but late at night he was often woken up to buy cigarettes or midnight snacks. Though they had agreed on a fifty-fifty split, Shen Zuwei had cheated quite a bit behind his back.

To put it bluntly, Chu Yi could just hand the money to the group leader directly; cooperating with him was more hassle.

Chu Yi ignored Shen Zuwei. Having just showered and feeling hungry again, he simply sat down and ate the Beef Stir-fried Rice Noodles before going out to use the communal washing machine for his clothes.

While Chu Yi was hanging up his clothes and blowing in the wind on the rooftop, incidentally observing the stars at night, Ouyang Yuyuan in a high-end apartment in Beijing received a call from his close friend Mu Jiajun: “What, go out for a couple drinks at this hour?”

For some reason, his voice sounded a bit weak.

“What’s wrong with this hour? It’s not even ten yet. We used to stay up all night eating, drinking, and having fun, then go racing at dawn! Just say if you’re coming or not?”

Ouyang Yuyuan: “You said it yourself—’used to.’ Don’t you remember who I work for now? If Cousin Xian finds out I still smell of alcohol tomorrow, he might deduct my pocket money again…”

It was not easy to save some pocket money.

“You’re just afraid of losing money, right? Fine, fine, how much? I’ll cover it. You take tomorrow off; that work?” Clearly, Mu Jiajun understood Ouyang Yuyuan’s stingy nature well and directly offered to pay an “appearance fee.”

“Better not. I’ve only been at the company less than three months; taking leave so soon isn’t good.”

“Look at you!” Mu Jiajun said in frustration: “You’re practically half a Yu Family member. Being your cousin’s assistant is one thing, but do you want to compete for employee of the month too? Bros, I’ve really got troubles these days. If you’re a brother, come out and drink with me!”

Ouyang Yuyuan hesitated, then gritted his teeth: “Really can’t. I’ve got work tomorrow; find someone else!”

Without waiting for a response, he quickly hung up.

He did not believe that gibbering extra actor bro; he was afraid his Cousin Xian would uncover his little stash!

After hanging up, Ouyang Yuyuan received several texts like “You’re such a coward; don’t say you’re my bro anymore,” “No guts,” “Go be your cousin’s lackey then”—all mocking him.

Ouyang Yuyuan had felt a bit guilty at first, but after reading them, he ignored them. Heh, who didn’t have a temper these days!

Ouyang Yuyuan slept soundly in the middle of the night when a call suddenly woke him. Groggily, he answered, and the other side blurted: “Yuanzi, Yun Kai’s in trouble!”

“What?” Ouyang Yuyuan snapped awake: “What happened?”

Mu Jiajun seemed to have some reservations: “He… he got his head busted open with a wine bottle… I’m at City First Hospital now; hurry over.”

His mind was in chaos; he did not even know how to tell the Li Family.

Ouyang Yuyuan was completely jolted awake: head split open and bleeding—it had really come true!

Li Yunkai was also one of their close childhood friends. If he had not refused Mu Jiajun tonight, would the one getting his head bashed with a bottle have been him?

Did that mean Yun Kai had taken it for him…

Thinking of that possibility, Ouyang Yuyuan quickly said: “I’m coming right now!”
