Lin Zhi discovered that after returning from the hospital, although Song Mian verbally claimed he “didn’t believe it,” he paid a lot of attention to Lin Zhi’s belly. He even called in a family doctor to check him out, resulting in a pile of supplements being prescribed.
Lin Zhi ate them too. Anything that wasn’t too bad-tasting went down easily.
Lin Zhi had accepted his pregnancy over a month ago, but now with the possibility of another one, he still hoped deep down that it wasn’t true. After all, he was a man—how could a man really get pregnant?
But he was in a much better state than Song Mian right now. Song Mian couldn’t believe a man could actually get pregnant, yet he probably suspected it was true. When alone, he looked utterly gloomy.
Lin Zhi glanced at Song Mian’s expression and happily bounced down the stairs, only to be caught around the waist by the approaching Song Mian.
“Watch where you’re going.”
Lin Zhi nearly jumped out of his skin—this was school! He hurriedly pushed Song Mian’s arm away and nodded vigorously. But then he couldn’t resist and deliberately asked, “Are you so sure I’m pregnant?”
Song Mian’s expression turned peculiar, and he didn’t say a word.
Lin Zhi narrowed his eyes. Every time he saw that subtle embarrassed look on Song Mian’s face, all his worries vanished. Song Mian seemed even more troubled than he was.
The school forum was abuzz with incredibly detailed gossip about him and Song Mian. But without confirmation from the parties involved—and since no one had actually seen them kissing on campus—it remained unverified for now. Lin Zhi didn’t want any more fuel added to their CP thread. Although he had admitted he was gay and was trying out a relationship with Song Mian, he didn’t like that CP thread.
In it, he was portrayed as the little wife.
Lin Zhi thought that wouldn’t do.
Neither his account nor Song Mian’s could be used anymore, so Lin Zhi turned his gaze to Zhu Muyun.
Tong Xu had already figured out Lin Zhi was dating Song Mian but hadn’t called it out, and Lin Zhi hadn’t figured out how to broach it yet. Zhu Muyun, on the other hand, hadn’t thought twice about it—he just knew the forum loved shipping Lin Zhi and Song Mian.
So unless Lin Zhi said something himself, Zhu Muyun might never guess they were actually together. When Lin Zhi asked Zhu Muyun for his forum account, Zhu Muyun asked cautiously, “Song Mian’s account—the post calling you the little wife, that was you using his account to comment, right?”
Lin Zhi didn’t lie to the straight-A student. “No choice—those people are spreading rumors like crazy!”
Zhu Muyun adjusted his glasses. “You’re not going to use my account to post that kind of stuff now, are you?”
Lin Zhi: “Of course not!”
Zhu Muyun relaxed a bit.
“Then what do you want it for?”
Lin Zhi raised an eyebrow and sidled up to Zhu Muyun, acting all buddy-buddy. “I want to start a CP thread for me and Song Mian. Call it the ZhiMian Processing Plant!”
Zhu Muyun didn’t quite get it. “There’s already a MianZhi Processing Plant—why start a ZhiMian one? ZhiZhi, you’re starting your own super topic like this? Does that mean you and Song Mian really are together like the internet says?”
“It’s complicated.” Lin Zhi didn’t directly answer about his relationship with Song Mian and grumbled indignantly, “I just think it’s unfair. MianZhi came first, so why should Song Mian be on top?”
Zhu Muyun was utterly baffled. “That’s the only reason?”
Lin Zhi nodded.
Zhu Muyun hesitated. “If they trace it back to me, people will think I’m shipping you and Song Mian.”
Lin Zhi: “Doxxing’s illegal! Your account hasn’t been officially verified on the forum, right?”
Zhu Muyun shook his head.
Lin Zhi clasped his hands together pleadingly. “Lend it to me, pretty please.”
Zhu Muyun gave in. Out of everyone in the dorm, he loved Lin Zhi the most.
Zhu Muyun logged into his forum account directly on Lin Zhi’s phone. Lin Zhi generously gave his own forum account to Zhu Muyun in return but still warned him: “Mine’s already been outed as me, so if you comment, be careful.”
Zhu Muyun: “I’ll just lurk, no commenting. You be careful too—don’t post anything too wild.”
Lin Zhi nodded.
With Zhu Muyun’s account in hand, Lin Zhi immediately created the “ZhiMian Processing Plant (Zhi x Mian CP Main Hub)” thread. Slyly, he wrote: Come here for your sugar fixes—ZhiMian and MianZhi are family!
Right after posting, no one paid attention. Lin Zhi bumped it himself from time to time.
Even after a few bumps, still nothing, so Lin Zhi reluctantly stopped checking.
That evening, Song Mian made him boiled carrots.
Lin Zhi pointed at his belly and grinned mischievously. “You really think I’m pregnant and can only eat boiled stuff? Raw carrot sticks washed clean are fine too—and way tastier than boiled.”
Song Mian’s expression was complicated as he patted Lin Zhi’s head but said nothing.
Soon, the doorbell rang, and a lavish nutrient-rich meal was delivered. As Lin Zhi dug in heartily, he shot Song Mian a teasing eyebrow wiggle. “Maybe I’m not pregnant at all.”
Song Mian’s brows furrowed, but he stayed silent.
Lin Zhi grinned wickedly—until he couldn’t anymore. After eating his fill and opening the forum, he saw that the thread he’d started that day had been bumped to the front page. When he clicked it open, a barrage of negative comments hit him like a truck!
1L: [Why “family”? Is this Lin Zhi himself?]
2L: [Why “family”? Is this Lin Zhi himself?]
3L: [Why “family”? Is this Lin Zhi himself?]
…
Lin Zhi needed oxygen!!
11L: [User 14535, still a default username. Whose account is this? Bet it’s Lin Zhi borrowing someone else’s again. Last time I didn’t believe Song Mian posted that stuff either. Even if he did, it was probably at Lin Zhi’s request. A real top doesn’t care about being called the wife.]
12L: [Lin Zhi, a real top doesn’t sweat these details! Show Song Mian the thread—he probably won’t even bother looking and might call you hubby just to placate you.]
Lin Zhi didn’t—didn’t believe it!!!
Song Mian was at his computer studying human anatomy diagrams. Lin Zhi didn’t tease him this time and just pushed his phone over.
Song Mian glanced at it and immediately spotted the thread title and the string of “Lin Zhi himself?” comments below. He looked at Lin Zhi, who put on a timid little-wife expression. “What do you think?”
Song Mian soothed him. “Hubby, don’t mind what they say.”
Lin Zhi’s face went pale, and he bolted with his phone.
Song Mian: ??
Song Mian quickly stopped Lin Zhi from running around the house. After pinching his cheek until it hurt, the stubborn Lin Zhi nodded like a chick pecking rice.
Lin Zhi was dejected.
Very dejected.
Song Mian was placating him. Did real tops really not care about this stuff? Then he—he wouldn’t care either!
No—no way!
Song Mian was taller, buffer, more reliable, and a cool stoic type. If he didn’t care about this, wouldn’t Lin Zhi become the thorough little wife? He’d bent straight—fine—but not like this.
Lin Zhi felt awful.
But that thread had to go—it completely backfired on his intentions. Just as Lin Zhi went to request its deletion, as the OP, he got real-time notifications for new replies.
Lin Zhi’s brain buzzed.
20L: [User 14535 is our comp sci bigshot! He’s posted several expert threads—still up on his profile. Helped us comp sci folks with tons of questions. How’s he shipping CP now?]
21L: [Shocked! His favorites are only study resources and Lin Zhi’s posts—no Song Mian ones. Word is Lin Zhi has a straight-A roommate he’s super close with. Any classmates wanna claim?]
22L: [My baby ZhiZhi, don’t tell me this is you again?]
23L: [Drama time—no one’s claiming it?]
27L: [Classmate here! Yeah, that’s Lin Zhi’s roommate—I’ll call him Student Zhu, no full name. One of his posts got singled out by the prof in freshman year; he debated it with the prof forever. We knew it was his account then. But Student Zhu’s a total nerd—not the type to ship his roommate. Still, he and Lin Zhi are tight; always saves him back-row seats. So I figure Student Zhu posted this ’cause he hates Lin Zhi being bottom?]
28L: [LMAO, wouldn’t that make the nerd too cute?]
…
Lin Zhi was completely dumbfounded.
They were screwed!
Zhu Muyun’s posts had even been shared in class—he had zero memory of that. And now Lin Zhi realized those posts of his were actually impressive.
This was bad.
He couldn’t make Zhu Muyun admit he posted it—Song Mian was a jerk sometimes, but Zhu Muyun was too good to him. Couldn’t screw over his bro like that. But Lin Zhi admitting it himself? No way.
Way too embarrassing!
Lin Zhi hesitated, then went back to Song Mian. He primly sat on Song Mian’s lap, hands obediently folded in his own lap, and looked up at Song Mian with utter sincerity.
Song Mian eyed the fawning Lin Zhi and seemed to guess instantly. “That thread I just saw—you posted it using someone else’s account again, and now it’s been exposed?”
Lin Zhi amped up the sincerity. “Song Mian-ge, you’re so smart. So I’ve decided—you should be the head of the household.”
Song Mian’s mouth twitched. “No.”
Lin Zhi: “Why?”
Song Mian lowered his gaze. “What do I get out of being head of the household?”
Benefits… there really weren’t any.
Lin Zhi: “But wouldn’t it make you happy? Head of the household~”
Song Mian was brutally honest. “No.”
Lin Zhi: “Hmph.”
Lin Zhi bolted again, only to be caught by Song Mian. After another cheek-pinch reddening, he nodded like a chick pecking rice, promising not to run next time!
Lin Zhi hid on the sofa, pondering for a while before tentatively messaging Zhu Muyun: [Seen the forum?]
Zhu Muyun: [You post something?]
Lin Zhi: [My bad, your ID got leaked. I’ll claim on the forum that I posted it! Muyun, I won’t rat you out!]
Lin Zhi felt tragically heroic.
A good while later, just as Lin Zhi thought Zhu Muyun was mad and was about to video call to beg forgiveness, Zhu Muyun replied.
[I scoured the forum—couldn’t find anything, not even searching your name. Did Song Mian get it cleaned up for you?]
Lin Zhi: ???
He hadn’t!!
Lin Zhi checked the forum himself—searching “Lin Zhi” turned up zero threads!
Lin Zhi immediately harassed Song Mian again, plopping shamelessly onto his lap. “Was it you?”
Song Mian ignored him.
Lin Zhi rubbed his iron-headed tough-guy aegyo against Song Mian’s chest. “Sigh., you’re my hubby—this head of household gig, you’re doing it!”
Song Mian finally glanced at him. Lin Zhi looked up, and Song Mian pointed to his own lips.
No social death was worth avoiding—Lin Zhi would do anything. He shyly pecked Song Mian’s lips, only to have Song Mian hold his head and kiss him deeply. Gasping, Lin Zhi was carried to the bedroom. Just as it seemed something might happen, Song Mian suddenly pulled away.
“Forget it.” Song Mian’s voice was still husky with desire, but his actions were pure. He even buttoned up Lin Zhi’s pajamas.
Lin Zhi sat up on the bed, legs crossed, pointing at his belly with a wicked grin at Song Mian. “Maybe I’m not pregnant after all.”
Song Mian: “……”
