Recently, due to a bug when splitting chapters, it was only possible to upload using whole numbers, which is why recent releases ended up with a higher chapter number than the actual chapter number. The chapters already uploaded and their respective novels can no longer be fixed unless we edit and re-upload them chapter by chapter(Chapters content are okay, just the number in the list is incorrect), but that would take a lot of time. Therefore, those uploaded in that way will remain as they are. The bug has been fixed(lasted 1 day), as seen with the recently uploaded novels, which can be split into parts and everything works as usual. From now on, all new content will be uploaded in correct order as before the bug happens. If time permits in the future, we may attempt to reorganize the previously affected chapters.

Chapter 26

Zhang Yunli swept his gaze over them and asked, “Where are your score reports?”

Tong Xiao and the other two: “…”

They obediently pulled up their holo-screens.

Zhang Yunli looked them over one by one. His furrowed brows finally relaxed a bit. “Not bad, at least you all learned something… though you’re all a bit lopsided in your subjects—whatever, exams are over. Effort starts tomorrow. For now, let’s eat.”

The four of them: “?”

Then Zhang Yunli dragged them to a private room in the cafeteria and ordered a mountain of delicious food.

—The one with the worst scores ate the most heartily.

Zhang Yunli watched him, speechless. “You little punk, no shame at all after bombing the exams like that—slow down, don’t choke. No one’s fighting you for it.”

Mu Chenxing nodded vigorously around a mouthful of food, then kept wolfing it down.

Zhang Yunli seemed to imagine something on his own, his face full of heartache as he even picked some dishes for him.

Tong Xiao glanced at Mu Chenxing, then at Zhang Yunli. He beat around the bush. “Teacher, we haven’t done anything weird lately, right?”

“Huh? Oh, no.” Zhang Yunli got it instantly and chuckled. “I was just at the government building handling some business. Figured you’d be done with exams around now, so I came to grab you guys for dinner.”

Then he pointed at Mu Chenxing, who was buried in his food. “And to take him back for a check-up.”

Tong Xiao nodded knowingly. “Is Xingxing’s condition serious?”

Zhang Yunli looked deeply worried. “Not sure yet. Needs more tests—for the records, in case someone else needs a reference later.”

Tong Xiao and the other two all looked at Mu Chenxing with concern.

Mu Chenxing swallowed his food and asked, “Teacher, you’re not heading back for dinner tonight? Or going home early?”

Zhang Yunli: “Nah, your principal’s off in City A for a meeting. Won’t be back till late.”

Mu Chenxing: “Then after you check me out, come hang with us at the Association?”

Zhang Yunli: “?”

Tong Xiao and the other two: “!”

Zhang Yunli didn’t think twice. “I heard from the young docs in the Medical Building that your Association’s been pretty lively lately. If I show up, will it make everyone uncomfortable?”

Mu Chenxing: “Uncomfortable how? We all play the same. Teacher, you’re holed up in the Medical Building all day—no classes, no students—and then you go home to the principal’s icy face. Might as well roll with us.”

Zhang Yunli laughed and scolded, “Your principal at least cooked for you a few days. That’s how you repay him?”

Mu Chenxing flashed a cheeky grin. “The principal’s too aloof. We can’t handle that… It’s settled, then.”

Zhang Yunli nodded. “Alright.”

Tong Xiao and the other two: “…”

Tong Xiao asked carefully, “Teacher, your stamina okay on the regular?”

Zhang Yunli, puzzled: “Should be fine. Standing through experiments for one or two hours is routine. Just slacking a bit this semester.”

Tong Xiao: “…Oh.”

He wanted to say more, but Xia Weizhen tugged his sleeve, and he shut up.

Sated, they strolled to the Medical Building.

A few days away, and Zhang Yunli’s office looked even more like a pharmacy—stacked with new stuff.

Mu Chenxing poked around. “How’d you get so much more junk? Aren’t you not taking students till next semester?”

Zhang Yunli: “That’s why I gotta prep early. Some experiments need borrowing from the school—quit dawdling. Over here, prick your finger for a blood sample.”

“Oh.”

Zhang Yunli: “You three too. I need to check if he’s affected you.”

“Got it.”

After a round of tests, results came back solid. Tong Xiao and the others were unaffected. Mu Chenxing’s state was stable—as long as no one got too close, you could barely smell his Alpha pheromones. Of course, other Alphas wouldn’t work; Alpha pheromones hit them with too much hostility.

All in all, everything was great. Great enough that Mu Chenxing asked Zhang Yunli, “So, can I exercise for over an hour now?”

Zhang Yunli instantly flashed back to the Gymnasium incident, nerves tightening. “What kind of exercise?”

Mu Chenxing: “Anything. Jogging okay?”

Zhang Yunli shot him a glare, checked the data, thought a moment, and said, “In principle, no.”

Mu Chenxing: “So that’s a yes.”

Zhang Yunli: “One hour isn’t enough for you—”

“Enough, enough!” Mu Chenxing slung an arm over his shoulder and signaled Tong Xiao and the others to turn off the lights and lock up. “Once we’re done, let’s roll. Time’s about up—don’t keep the little cuties waiting.”

Zhang Yunli got hustled out the door. “What little cuties? Hey, the testing gear needs shutting down.”

Mu Chenxing: “Our Association’s little Omegas, duh.”

“…You’re just a freshman, barely 18. You calling them little Omegas?”

“Don’t sweat the details—Teacher, why don’t you be our Association’s advisor? I checked the school rules: with an advisor, we get a fixed activity spot. Sure, just reserved times, but still awesome.”

Zhang Yunli: “I’m a Beta. Appropriate for me to advise a bunch of Omegas?”

“What’s not? You’re the advisor, not a member. Plus, as a pheromone studies bigshot, we’d kill for you. If anything comes up… E%^Y&^$%U&^%&…”

Tong Xiao and the other two trailing behind exchanged silent looks: Here we go again.

Midterms plus Mu Chenxing’s hellish review had mercifully paused the Association’s night runs.

But tonight, they resumed.

When Zhang Yunli got sweet-talked to the meetup spot, over thirty Omegas hadn’t clocked the trouble yet. He greeted the members warmly.

Mu Chenxing grinned and introduced him. “This is pheromone studies PhD Zhang Yunli—the one who pioneered turning suppressants from fridge-bound active to room-temp active!”

The crowd was stunned, suspicions dawning, eyes lighting up on Zhang Yunli.

Zhang Yunli, used to this, just smiled patiently.

Mu Chenxing raised his arm high. “Now, the mighty Dr. Zhang’s joined our Omega Growth Association as advisor! With a pheromone expert like him, our activities will be more pro, safer!! Let’s welcome Teacher Zhang~~”

He led the applause.

His MLM-style hype, plus him and Tong Xiao’s crew clapping first, fired up the Omegas—who’d half-expected it—into a frenzy of cheers.

“Welcome Teacher Zhang!”

“Welcome Dr. Zhang!”

Zhang Yunli bowed calmly in thanks.

Mu Chenxing hushed them and went on. “Teacher Zhang’s here with a mission today too!”

Zhang Yunli: “?”

Tong Xiao and the other two: Here it comes!

Mu Chenxing: “Teacher Zhang reviewed our night run logs and footage. He suggests upping the intensity a bit—for better physique and pheromone growth! So from tonight, night runs go from one hour… to an hour and a half!!”

Zhang Yunli: “???”

He never said that!

Tong Xiao and the other two: “!!”

Damn! Overtime!!

The crowd: “!?”

“Nooo! I just got used to this length!”

“Aaah, one hour’s already killing me!”

Protests erupted.

Mu Chenxing pointed at the oblivious Zhang Yunli. “Teacher Zhang says—from a pro standpoint—in the final sex gland development and early maturity stages, moderate extra exercise boosts gland quality, body functions, fertility… right, Teacher Zhang?”

Zhang Yunli: “…Can’t argue—”

“See? Teacher Zhang’s a bio and pheromone expert! Even if not 100%, it’s gotta be 70-80% on point… ¥&…¥%…”

Riding Zhang Yunli’s clout, Mu Chenxing gave no room for rebuttal. He steamrolled the shy, timid Omegas into submission, output a torrent, then bolted ahead without letting anyone speak.

The Omegas glanced pitifully at Zhang Yunli and followed, grumbling.

Zhang Yunli: “…”

I’m innocent—

“Teacher Zhang!” Mu Chenxing jogged in place, urging him. “Run~”

Under the Omegas’ resentful stares, Zhang Yunli gritted his teeth and followed.

Mu Chenxing: “C’mon, match my rhythm, breathe. One-two-one, one-two-one…”

He didn’t just call cadence—he circled the thirty-plus runners, patting shoulders, fist-pumping one, high-fiving another… making sure every Omega got max emotional boost.

Zhang Yunli, trying to catch him for an out: “…”

Slippery little bastard.

Lab-bound, Zhang Yunli was panting hard halfway through.

Tong Xiao and the others, worried, trailed him.

“Teacher, you holding up?”

“Push a bit, almost there.”

“Not sure—didn’t he say an hour and a half?”

Zhang Yunli heard Mu Chenxing’s strong voice from afar and gasped, “How are you guys such machines? Not tired?”

The three wore weary faces:

“Sigh.”

“Trauma-trained stamina.”

“All forced out of us.”

Zhang Yunli: “…What if we stopped?”

“You’d look bad. Real bad!”

“Teacher, you’re staying at school. We’re graduating.”

“Teacher, don’t even try.”

Zhang Yunli: “…”

Mu Chenxing looped back, chanting beside them. “One-two-one… Teacher’s doing great—no winded breath yet. Beta stamina for the win!”

Mu Chenxing paused, and dozens of eyes shifted. As the only Beta and teacher there, Zhang Yunli instinctively straightened, panting, “Of course! No stamina, how do hours-long experiments?”

Tong Xiao and the other two: “…”

Hooked again.

Sympathy.

Mu Chenxing: “No wonder!”

He projected: “Hear that? That’s scholar power. Lots of you wanna do research, right? Can’t slack on stamina!”

“Easy—I today—”

Mu Chenxing whipped ahead, accelerating. “We’ve stuck it half a month. Can’t disappoint Teacher Zhang today… ¥%¥%#&…”

Babbling on, he vanished into the Omega pack.

Zhang Yunli, arm outstretched mid-sentence: …

Tong Xiao and the other two:

“Teacher, give up.”

“Just an hour and a half. You got this.”

“No one escapes Xingxing’s training!”

Zhang Yunli: “…”

The hour and a half finally ended.

Zhang Yunli slumped against Tong Xiao, gasping huge, too wrecked to even curse.

The other Omegas were fine—half a month in, just a brief pant from the extension. They clustered, chatting.

Mu Chenxing bantered happily in the crowd.

Right then, a flight vehicle whooshed low overhead. Two figures leaped down.

Before the Omegas could freak, a towering Alpha charged in—

“Yunli!” Fu Mingyuan, in Military Academy uniform, steadied Zhang Yunli, voice urgent. “What happened? Heart rate, blood pressure spiking?!”

Tong Xiao and the other two backed off fast!

All eyes turned to Mu Chenxing.

Zhang Yunli: “Uh, I’m fine.”

“Fine why’re you out late—with this many—students? Mu Chenxing?” Fu Mingyuan followed the stares and glared. “Explain!”

Mu Chenxing: “…”

He coughed lightly. “Principal good. Teacher’s fine, just… exercised a bit—” he pinched fingers “—just a smidge!”

Fu Mingyuan: “…”

Zhang Yunli: “Cough, true. Their Association’s night activity. I tagged along for fun.”

Fu Mingyuan: “…?”

Night activity? Outdoors?

He scanned.

…Omega Association?

Mu Chenxing clapped. “Greet the principal!”

The Omegas mustered courage, murmuring hellos.

Fu Mingyuan nodded stone-faced. “Late. End activity, rest up.”

They chorused soft “Yes.”

Mu Chenxing: “Tonight’s done! Dismissed~ See ya tomorrow~~”

The group scattered in all directions in an instant.

Mu Chenxing grabbed his two dormmates’ arms, planning to slip away in the chaos—

“Mu Chenxing, come here.” Fu Mingyuan’s voice gave nothing away.

Mu Chenxing pulled a long face as he dragged Tong Xiao and Xia Weizhen along. Tao Xirui hesitated for a moment before stopping too.

“It’s this late—why are you calling him over?” Zhang Yunli asked, puzzled.

“He’s the one who wore you out like this. Shouldn’t he get a scolding?”

Zhang Yunli saw Mu Chenxing’s pitiful face under the streetlamp and softened. “Exercise is good. Didn’t you say my stamina was too poor? Xingxing was just looking out for me.”

Mu Chenxing secretly winked at Tong Xiao and the others.

Tong Xiao and the rest: “……”

Fu Mingyuan said, “If it’s stamina training, shouldn’t he come to me? What if you hurt yourself messing around like that? Your vitals spiked out of nowhere and scared the hell out of me.”

“Sorry,” Zhang Yunli said, lowering his head. “I’ll be more careful next time.”

Mu Chenxing jumped in right away. “It’s fine. We ran really slow. Teacher Zhang’s just out of practice—that’s why he’s like this. A few more days and he’ll adapt just fine.”

The Omegas in their Association all had poor stamina and ran slowly. Unless it was a heart condition—damn, still need to check that out next time.

“But I should’ve asked about Teacher’s health first. My apologies—sorry, Teacher. You’re not hiding any health issues, right?”

Zhang Yunli’s expression softened. “Silly kid, if I had a problem, how could I have kept up with you all?”

Mu Chenxing grinned. “Good to hear. So, Teacher, you’ll keep exercising with us from now on, right?”

Zhang Yunli was at a loss for words.

Fu Mingyuan glared. “Keep running?”

Mu Chenxing put on an innocent face. “Doesn’t the Principal want Teacher to be healthy? I hear you take the Mecha Academy seniors training all the time. How come you train yourself but not Teacher? Don’t tell me you don’t want to grow old together with him?”

Fu Mingyuan: “……”

Zhang Yunli: “……Say less!”

Mu Chenxing: “For real, Teacher—I suspect the Principal has cheating intentions! He’s an Alpha, an S-Level Alpha at that. His stamina already crushes yours. You can’t even keep up normally! And he’s still pushing his body like crazy… Holy crap, does the Principal have another family out there?!”

Fu Mingyuan: “……”

Zhang Yunli: “……” His suspicious gaze shifted to Fu Mingyuan.

“No!” Fu Mingyuan hurried to say. “You’re the only one for me!”

Mu Chenxing muttered, “Teacher hasn’t even asked, and you’re explaining? Explaining is just covering it up.”

“Mu Chenxing!”

Zhang Yunli narrowed his eyes. “Why are you yelling at him? You do work overtime a lot… And back when we were long-distance, I couldn’t reach you half the time…”

Sweat beaded on Fu Mingyuan’s forehead. “A-Li, I swear I don’t!”

Zhang Yunli huffed and glanced around. This was their starting and ending point for the run, and now there was hardly anyone left.

But…

He turned and strode off. “Come on, let’s go home and sort this out!”

“A-Li!!”

The two hurried away, one after the other.

Mu Chenxing wiped his brow. “That was close—almost got an earful from the Principal!”

Tong Xiao: “……You might dodge today, but not tomorrow.”

Mu Chenxing stayed calm. “We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it—deal with soldiers using generals, block water with earth! Tomorrow’s problem is for tomorrow!”

He grinned. “Anyway, Teacher Zhang’s super soft-hearted. He’ll have my back~~”

His three dormmates: “……”

Tao Xirui looked worried. “What if something happens to Teacher and them?”

Mu Chenxing: “Relax. I’ve lived with them for a few days—I can tell. They’re fine.”

He winked lewdly. “I’m just spicing up their love life a bit~”

His three dormmates all shot him looks of disdain.

Mu Chenxing slung an arm around Xia Weizhen’s shoulders. “C’mon, back to the dorms for showers~~”

The four turned toward the dorms.

After a few steps, Mu Chenxing suddenly stopped.

Xia Weizhen halted too. “What’s up?”

Mu Chenxing kept a straight face. “Think I dropped something. I’ll go look—you guys head back first.”

“What’d you drop? We’ll help.”

“Yeah, we’ll come with.”

“We can’t just let you go alone.”

Mu Chenxing: “……No need. I’ll just check around the intersection here. I won’t run off into the gardens alone. Five minutes tops—alright, fine, truth is I wanna grab some snacks. You go wash up; my treat.”

The three: “……”

They all placed their orders.

Mu Chenxing noted them down and watched them walk far down the road before turning back. He glanced around and whisper-shouted, “Old rogue, come out!”

A tall figure dropped from above, landing lightly and silently in front of him.

“How am I an old rogue?” Pei Yao asked helplessly.

Mu Chenxing didn’t answer. He looked up at the sky, seeing only a long row of tall, umbrella-shaped streetlamps.

“Where’d you jump from? You were hanging on a lamppost again?”

Pei Yao: “……That’s not ‘hanging.’”

Mu Chenxing nodded knowingly. “Yup, a lamppost. You really have a thing for lampposts, huh, Lamppost Bro.”

Pei Yao: “……”

Great, another nickname.

Mu Chenxing met with an ambush and died while carrying out a mission. When he woke, a bizarre heat and dizziness overwhelmed his body. He spotted the shady figures around him and calmly grabbed a wine bottle. Clang! He smashed it and jabbed the jagged edge into his thigh before charging forward— By the time he pieced together what had happened, he realized he'd transmigrated into some bizarre world. The interstellar expanse stretched vast, technology advanced beyond measure, but humanity's classifications were downright strange. His kind was called Omega—weak as dodder vine, their lives seemingly revolving around nothing but marriage, popping out kids, going into heat, and hooking up with guys. Fuck! Pei Yao was notorious for despising Omegas—until he witnessed that spectacular showdown at the mouth of the alley. He caught the lingering scent of wine in the air and suddenly thought, Omegas aren't so bad after all. He couldn't stop thinking about that Omega from that night. When he attended his alma mater's celebration, he ran into that very same pretty Omega with explosive power from the alley. He immediately blocked his path and smiled. "Little beauty, looks like we're pretty fated. Wanna bond with me?" What came back at him was a vicious groin kick from the little Omega. Pei Yao: *Hiss... that's hot. At the University Arena Competition between interstellar universities, a pretty Omega burst onto the scene out of nowhere. He crushed a horde of Alphas and stormed into the finals. Online, the insults, mockery, and disgust began to brew into a storm of negativity. But then the Omega-phobic Admiral—judged doomed to a life of lonely widowhood—suddenly opened a Starbo account. His first post was just a single photo: A bruised-faced Omega kicking an Alpha opponent flying. @Pei Yao: *My wife—handsome, right? The entire net: *...* Mu Chenxing: *...*
