Recently, due to a bug when splitting chapters, it was only possible to upload using whole numbers, which is why recent releases ended up with a higher chapter number than the actual chapter number. The chapters already uploaded and their respective novels can no longer be fixed unless we edit and re-upload them chapter by chapter(Chapters content are okay, just the number in the list is incorrect), but that would take a lot of time. Therefore, those uploaded in that way will remain as they are. The bug has been fixed(lasted 1 day), as seen with the recently uploaded novels, which can be split into parts and everything works as usual. From now on, all new content will be uploaded in correct order as before the bug happens. If time permits in the future, we may attempt to reorganize the previously affected chapters.

Chapter 28

Mu Chenxing checked “his” personal profile through the wristband and the school’s backend.

“He” hailed from Galaxy Star Linxi City District 159, with Father Alpha Mu Yifan and Dad Beta Luo Chen.

He had attended Galaxy Star No. 32 Middle School for middle school.

He had heard that Shen Mingshu came from the same planet.

Barring any accidents, Shen Mingshu should have graduated from that school too.

From Tong Xiao and the others’ discussions, it turned out the “original body” had been pretty introverted. Right at the start of the semester, “he” hardly stayed in the dorms and only stuck with the Shen brothers, Shen Mingshu and Shen Mingtao. They only knew he had a blatant crush on Shen Mingtao.

It had only been a little over a month into the semester back then. Not only did Tong Xiao and the rest not know about his connection to the Shen brothers, they hadn’t even had a chance to chat much with him, let alone learn about his family situation.

He was racking his brains on how to make a move when Xu Zhicheng and his crew bumped right into him.

The excuse to rope in this big lug was simple—Class F was buzzing that he and Xu Zhicheng were a couple, which meant this enemies-to-lovers trope sold anywhere.

He simply turned the tables, telling Xu Zhicheng to pretend to pursue him and go fish some info from Shen Mingshu—anything would do.

He didn’t care how Xu Zhicheng pulled it off; he just wanted results.

Luckily, Xu Zhicheng proved somewhat useful and sent him a message that very night.

—Shen Mingshu told him to give up, and he got nothing out of him.

Mu Chenxing immediately called him on voice.

“…He said you won’t go looking for Alphas from other planets and told me not to bother him if it’s nothing important.”

Mu Chenxing: “What were his exact words?”

“That’s pretty much it… Oh, right, he also said you never planned to get into the Military Academy in the first place. You were supposed to go to Galaxy Medical University on Galaxy Star, and if not for his brother being here, you would’ve dropped out and retaken the exams.”

Mu Chenxing lightly tapped the desk with his fingers and asked again, “Why Galaxy Medical University?”

“…How the hell should I know? Ask yourself! You messing with me?!”

Mu Chenxing: “Fine, just kidding—you got nothing? Probe again! Report back!”

Xu Zhicheng howled on the other end: “What? Didn’t you say just once?!”

Mu Chenxing: “I’ll treat you to dinner.”

“Pah! You’ve pretty much ruined my reputation—and eat with you—”

“Bring Xia Xia along.”

“…”

“Deal or no?”

Xu Zhicheng hemmed and hawed: “Uh… he’ll really come?”

Mu Chenxing met Xia Weizhen’s suspicious gaze and calmly said, “Of course. It’s just dinner. Does the school ban Alphas and Omegas from eating together?”

“Well, no… cough cough, fine, I’ll go ask again—what exactly do you want to know?”

Mu Chenxing: “Anything. Best if you record it, saves you from garbling it all up when you report back.”

“…Fine.”

After hanging up, Mu Chenxing got hooked around the neck by someone.

“You sold me out?!” The slightly petite Xia Weizhen glared fiercely. “Spill—what shady deal are you two cooking up?!”

Mu Chenxing: “Sold what? It’s just dinner.”

Xia Weizhen tightened his arm and yelled, “Dragging me along to accompany for a meal isn’t selling me out?! Xiaoxiao, Rui Rui—come beat him up!”

Mu Chenxing pretended to be strangled, rolling his eyes: “Wronged! I never said you’d go alone!”

Xia Weizhen: “…?”

Mu Chenxing pinched his cheek: “You dumb? Aren’t the three of us people too?”

Tong Xiao, who had overheard the whole thing, tapped the Holo-Screen to flip pages and said calmly, “Xia Xia, instead of worrying about yourself, pity Xu Zhicheng.”

Tao Xirui nodded.

Mu Chenxing grumbled, “I didn’t even do anything to him. Why are you all siding with him?”

The three shot him looks of disdain in unison.

Mu Chenxing pouted: “I’m even treating him to dinner—hey, should we invite the Omegas from our Association? With so many Omegas keeping him company, he’d be making bank!”

The three: “…”

Mu Chenxing pondered: “Seems feasible. We’ve got plenty of funds now. The Association’s been up and running, and everyone’s been running together for three weeks—time for a group meal, right?! Let’s blow some budget on dinner. If it’s not enough, I’ll cover it.”

Thirty-something people eating in the Cafeteria—even with extra dishes, at those prices, it’d only run a few thousand bucks.

Pei Yao had given him sixty thousand, after all.

Xia Weizhen: “…”

Tong Xiao thought for a moment and said, “Rui Rui, check the funds—see if we can swing a meal.”

Tao Xirui opened the ledger: “Funds are plenty right now. After deducting supplies, we can eat, but I suggest saving some—Xingxing, how much can you subsidize?”

Mu Chenxing: “Heh heh, three or five thousand’s no issue. Made some unexpected cash the other day—I’m loaded!”

His three roommates cheered, not prying how he’d earned it, and dove into the Association group chat, hyping everyone up to discuss meal times.

Mu Chenxing glanced at the group chat for a bit, checked the time, and painfully closed it to keep studying—damn it, dead last in the whole grade? He, Mu Chenxing, couldn’t stomach that humiliation!!

He buried himself in studying until the alarm blared.

—Night run time.

The four changed into sneakers and headed out together.

Tonight’s run had an extra buzz; everyone chatted about meal dates while jogging—you free today, I’m not tomorrow—and halfway through, they nailed down a date before debating which Cafeteria and what cuisine.

Mu Chenxing didn’t even need to chant slogans; he just circled, watching them chat to keep these Omegas from getting too hyped and twisting an ankle or smacking into a tree.

Amid the laughter, an hour and a half flew by. When they stopped, everyone was still raring for more.

Mu Chenxing led them through two minutes of cool-down stretches, then clapped: “Alright, back for showers, studying, and rest. Hash out the rest in the group.”

They parted reluctantly, still clustering in twos and threes to chat.

Their voices weren’t loud, but from afar, their excitement was palpable.

Tong Xiao: “Everyone loves group meals this much~”

Xia Weizhen: “Yeah, didn’t expect them to be so pumped.”

Tao Xirui bounced: “I’m looking forward to it too! Never been to a big gathering like this before!”

Mu Chenxing mused: “Not many gatherings before?”

Tong Xiao: “Yeah, just a few graduation meals for me. Before that, my fathers never let me go out alone.”

Xia Weizhen: “Same here. Our high school Omega gatherings topped out at around ten people.”

Tao Xirui: “Mm, I… only had the one school-organized graduation banquet.”

Mu Chenxing: “…If that’s the case for you all, these Omegas probably had even fewer—or just ate quietly at gatherings.”

The Association Omegas were all more introverted than the last; only the later joiners were a tad bolder.

He rubbed his chin. “Looks like I need to organize more activities.”

Tao Xirui quickly: “Not just eating all the time—funds are limited!”

Mu Chenxing: “Relax, meals are just beginner stuff. Tons of free activities out there. If we need cash, I’ll figure out funding.”

Tong Xiao eyed him warily: “Who’re you ripping off this time?”

Mu Chenxing just smiled mysteriously.

Xia Weizhen glanced around: “Speaking of, where’s Teacher Zhang? You didn’t trick him into coming?”

Mu Chenxing: “Cough cough, heard he took leave… Haven’t dared contact him yet.”

The three roommates: “…”

Their expressions turned weird, words on the tip of their tongues.

Mu Chenxing: “No need to say it—Principal must be pretty bold.”

The pure-hearted trio instantly got his drift and all flushed red.

Mu Chenxing was about to tease them when a faint cool breath crept up his ankle. He paused, changing tack: “Think we’ve rested enough. Wanna learn some fighting techniques from me?”

The three: “!”

Mu Chenxing: “Super simple. I’ll teach you—”

“Oops, I have a video call with Dad—gotta go!”

“I have plans with a classmate.”

“I-I-I have class!”

“Just half an hour!”

“No no!”

“You practice alone!”

The three linked arms and bolted.

Mu Chenxing tsked: “Jeez, such a prime opportunity.”

Laughter sounded behind him.

Mu Chenxing turned, eyes flickering as he raised a hand: “Evening—why so flashy tonight?”

Not really flashy.

Pei Yao, who had popped up out of nowhere, wore a black suit and white shirt—very proper.

But he looked good, tall with long legs, standing at the edge of light and shadow like a male model, giving off an impure vibe that screamed flashy.

Pei Yao glanced down at himself, then met his eyes with a teasing smirk: “So, got you hooked?”

Mu Chenxing: “…”

Couldn’t out-sass this guy.

He changed the subject: “Banquet tonight? Can you slip out this early?”

Pei Yao kept teasing: “What banquet tops you? I’d have skipped it if not to wear this suit to dazzle you.”

Mu Chenxing: “…Let’s cut to the chase.”

Pei Yao: “This eager?” He scanned around, lowering his voice with a sultry bubble of ambiguity. “How about somewhere comfier~”

Mu Chenxing gave him a deadpan stare: “Gonna die if you don’t flirt?”

The guy dodged like a ghost when he actually swung.

“No helping it—you came at me first—”

Pei Yao retreated several meters in a flash.

Mu Chenxing frowned, halting: “Why dodge so far?”

Pei Yao: “You just ran. Rest up first.”

Mu Chenxing: “…”

Because yesterday I only trained 12 minutes before my Pheromones went unsteady—but didn’t get my fix?

He eyed the grinning Pei Yao and put up his fists. “Fine, then what now?”

Pei Yao patted himself down and extended his palm: “Snagged from the banquet hall. Eat?”

A few small snacks in his palm.

Mu Chenxing: “…Treating me like a kid?”

His shell was 18, but the core sure wasn’t.

Pei Yao’s tone turned a touch serious: “Can if you want. Anytime.”

He thought of something and chuckled: “After all, you call me Uncle Pei.”

Mu Chenxing: “…”

He couldn’t help laughing too. “Shameless. Actually taking ‘uncle’ to heart.”

Pei Yao offered the snacks: “Try?”

Mu Chenxing rubbed his belly and stepped up without ceremony: “Sure, I’m hungry anyway.”

He was still growing.

He usually needed a snack at night or he’d starve awake—

Wait.

He’d only gone out for food last night.

But during exam week, Pei Yao had been lurking in the air exchange layer, wrapping him in Pheromones… He knew I snack every night?

Lost in thought, his hand froze mid-air.

Pei Yao saw him stall, stepped closer, and placed snacks in his open right palm. After a few, he nodded: “Left hand.”

Mu Chenxing: “…”

His 1.8-meter palms couldn’t even hold one of Pei Yao’s handfuls!

Looks like not many!!

He silently extended his left.

But Pei Yao pulled back: “I’ll hold these. You eat first.”

Mu Chenxing: “…Oh.”

He looked down at the snacks.

Assorted cookies and cakes, sweet and savory.

He picked one, unwrapped it, and popped it in his mouth.

Pretty good.

Chewing, he mumbled, “You into snacks too?”

Pei Yao watched him, eyes smiling: “Nah, I don’t eat them.”

Mu Chenxing eyed the packaging: “Then how’d you know they’re good?”

Pei Yao: “Asked.”

Mu Chenxing: “?”

He swallowed the cookie, baffled. “At the banquet?”

Pei Yao: “Problem?”

Mu Chenxing unwrapped another, chatting idly: “How? Straight-up ask the mayor if the cookie’s good?”

“Yep.” Pei Yao corrected: “Not the mayor—Alliance-level banquet tonight. That one’s recommended by the Alliance Chairman.”

Mu Chenxing: “…”

He glanced at the half-eaten cookie in his hand, then at Pei Yao, crunching away wordlessly. “I suspect you’re trying to give me indigestion.”

Pei Yao arched a brow: “You seem fine.”

“What else can I do?” Mu Chenxing rolled his eyes and kept munching. “Etiquette’s minor; starving’s major.”

Pei Yao chuckled lowly.

Mu Chenxing finished another cookie and frowned: “Crap.”

Pei Yao: “?”

Mu Chenxing eyed his hand: “Bet you didn’t bring water.”

Pei Yao: “…This work?”

He handed over a small packet.

Like suckable jelly.

Mu Chenxing grinned: “Should do.”

He snatched it, twisted open, and sucked.

This thing could only be sipped, designed for kids with a tiny mouthpiece. He had to purse his lips and suck in his cheeks, making the whole process especially arduous.

Pei Yao stared at him for two seconds before suddenly looking away.

Mu Chenxing didn’t notice, taking a few sips before commenting, “This one’s a bit sweet. Don’t bring it next time.” And it’s such a pain to drink.

Pei Yao: “…Okay.”

His averted gaze landed on a roadside bench, and he smiled again. “How about we sit down first?”

The two of them had been standing there chatting like idiots for ages.

Mu Chenxing: “…”

He promptly walked over and took a seat.

Pei Yao sat on the other end of the bench, a good three or four feet away.

All talk, no action… Mu Chenxing ignored him, finishing one pouch after another. Once he’d polished off the lot, he reached out for the rest.

By the time he was finally full and satisfied, twenty minutes had passed.

He tossed all the wrappers into the trash bin, turned back, and clapped his hands. “Alright, let’s get started.”

But Pei Yao lounged there with his long legs stretched out lazily. “No intense exercise right after eating.”

Mu Chenxing: “…I only had some snacks.”

Pei Yao: “Then no intense exercise right after snacks.”

Mu Chenxing: “…You’re doing this on purpose?!”

Pei Yao: “Doing what on purpose?”

Mu Chenxing gnashed his teeth. “If you don’t want to train with me, just say so. Using snacks as an excuse—what kind of man does that?”

Pei Yao patted the spot beside him. “I’ll keep you company, I’ll keep you company. I’ll definitely train with you in a bit. Just rest for now, be good~~”

Mu Chenxing: “…”

What the hell is this tone?!

Coaxing a kid?

Mu Chenxing met with an ambush and died while carrying out a mission. When he woke, a bizarre heat and dizziness overwhelmed his body. He spotted the shady figures around him and calmly grabbed a wine bottle. Clang! He smashed it and jabbed the jagged edge into his thigh before charging forward— By the time he pieced together what had happened, he realized he'd transmigrated into some bizarre world. The interstellar expanse stretched vast, technology advanced beyond measure, but humanity's classifications were downright strange. His kind was called Omega—weak as dodder vine, their lives seemingly revolving around nothing but marriage, popping out kids, going into heat, and hooking up with guys. Fuck! Pei Yao was notorious for despising Omegas—until he witnessed that spectacular showdown at the mouth of the alley. He caught the lingering scent of wine in the air and suddenly thought, Omegas aren't so bad after all. He couldn't stop thinking about that Omega from that night. When he attended his alma mater's celebration, he ran into that very same pretty Omega with explosive power from the alley. He immediately blocked his path and smiled. "Little beauty, looks like we're pretty fated. Wanna bond with me?" What came back at him was a vicious groin kick from the little Omega. Pei Yao: *Hiss... that's hot. At the University Arena Competition between interstellar universities, a pretty Omega burst onto the scene out of nowhere. He crushed a horde of Alphas and stormed into the finals. Online, the insults, mockery, and disgust began to brew into a storm of negativity. But then the Omega-phobic Admiral—judged doomed to a life of lonely widowhood—suddenly opened a Starbo account. His first post was just a single photo: A bruised-faced Omega kicking an Alpha opponent flying. @Pei Yao: *My wife—handsome, right? The entire net: *...* Mu Chenxing: *...*
