Chapter 15: You Little Deceitful Cat Part 1

Li You stared at his older brother’s eyes for too long, and his heart panicked. One front paw had already moved out in preparation to flee when, in the next moment, Little Black, who was lying nearby, suddenly leaped up lightly and coiled onto his older brother’s shoulder. It poked its head over and licked his face once.

The barbs on its tongue scraped his skin, making it itch.

Li You: “……”

The paw pads pressing on his older brother’s abs rhythmically kneaded gently, stretching as he kneaded, while he let out a low purr from his mouth.

After a while, his face was licked again.

Li You stopped kneading, lifted his front paw to wipe his own face, and resentfully stared at the little monster coiled on his older brother’s shoulder. He tilted his head back: “Meow—”

Little Black, who had wanted to lick again, paused and tilted its head in confusion. In the next moment, Li Ye took it back.

The little black cat transformed back into a slender little snake. It drilled into Li Ye’s sleeve, but after only a moment inside, it wriggled out flexibly again. Its flat, smooth black head came forward, and its soft nose tip rubbed against the ragdoll cat’s pink nose twice before finally returning completely to Li Ye’s body.

Li You was stunned. After the little snake disappeared completely without a trace, he finally lifted his paw to touch the nose that had just been touched and looked up at Li Ye: “Meow.”

This meow was neither light nor heavy, and it sounded a bit dazed.

Li Ye’s gaze fell on the ragdoll cat. After a long time, he picked up the cat from his lap and placed it on the nearby booth seat before standing up and leaving.

The spot where Li You was sank into a dent. He blankly watched his older brother’s departing figure, a murmur rising in his heart.

Where was he going?

With the person gone, Li You was left alone in this vast bedroom, and his heart instantly felt empty. He stood up, pondered for a moment, and then followed in the direction his older brother had left.

However, he got lost again.

The bedroom was ridiculously large. He circled around a few times and couldn’t even find the way back.

Li You perked up his cat ears. His round, disc-like face looked left and right, and he raised his head, twitching his nose tip, trying to judge the route with the keen sense of smell of a cat. Unfortunately, the floral scent here was too strong, and he couldn’t smell anything.

After several twists and turns, he stumbled by chance to a floor-to-ceiling glass window. Li You, who had come through the flower clusters to this side, shook off the petals from his body and looked up to see a familiar figure outside the floor-to-ceiling glass window.

Little Wan Sis was planting flowers in the garden outside.

Li You went forward and looked at Little Wan Sis, who was holding a small hoe outside, through the glass. He raised one front paw and gently scratched at the glass, instinctively letting out a “Meow.”

The sound wasn’t small, but Little Wan Sis outside showed no reaction. She earnestly hoed the ground and scattered flower seeds. Even when facing the direction where Li You was and glancing over, she only swept her eyes quickly, clearly not seeing the ragdoll cat inside.

Li You’s two front paws gently scratched at the glass, trying to attract Little Wan Sis’s attention in hopes that she could come rescue this lost little kitty. But Little Wan Sis never noticed him.

Tired from clawing at the glass, Li You squatted down and sat upright on the spot, quietly thinking. He came to a conclusion.

This was one-way glass; the outside couldn’t see inside.

Not long after, Li You saw Little Wan Sis, who was wiping the fine sweat from her forehead with her sleeve, stop moving. A moment later, she crouched down to set aside the hoe in her hand and turned to face a man who had come to deliver water.

From his attire, that man was also a villager responsible for garden work, wearing the same work jacket as Little Wan Sis.

The two chatted happily, with smiles overflowing on Little Wan Sis’s face. The glass of the Sunlight Palace was of too high quality; nothing from the outside conversation could be heard inside.

Li You watched for a moment before refocusing. He began to worry again about finding the way back. At this moment, with his sharp vision, he suddenly saw several strip-like things slowly rising up from the flower clusters surrounding Little Wan Sis and that man.

He froze his body, which was about to turn, and looked closely.

Those strip-like things were clearly leeches.

The flower clusters’ branches and leaves were crawling with densely packed leeches.

In an instant, those little monsters all stood up and shot toward that man.

Li You’s heart jolted in shock. In his urgency, he crashed into the glass with a muffled “Thump,” and he stumbled back several large steps.

Little Wan Sis outside seemed to hear the noise and turned her head to look this way.

Her face was calm. She hadn’t been attacked by the leeches and merely glanced toward the direction of the strange muffled sound before withdrawing her gaze, continuing to quietly watch the man being piled up and gnawed by the leeches.

Li You watched the scene before him in disbelief. But in just a few seconds, he saw a reversal.

The man under siege by the leech swarm suddenly broke free, but what emerged was not a “human”—it was a monster with a head that opened into a jagged maw.

This garden worker wasn’t human at all; it was an abyss pollutant mutant species.

Li You stiffened in place. In the next short dozens of seconds, he witnessed an extremely bloody and brutal scene.

The abyss pollutant mutant species and the leech mutant swarm tore into each other. In less than a minute, the human mutant species controlled by the abyss pollutant fell behind and was quickly gnawed clean by the swarm of leeches. Even the bloodstains on the ground and the filthy blood on the flowers were sucked dry.

The leech swarm retreated and disappeared into the flower clusters.

Little Wan Sis, who had watched everything, stepped forward. She squatted down to pick up the “man’s” clothes that had fallen to the ground one by one, draped them over her arm, then turned to pick up the hoe and bamboo basket on the ground before slowly leaving the garden.

The wind blew the flower petals and branches, gently lifting the skirt hem of the girl who was walking away.

Li You stared dazedly outside the floor-to-ceiling glass window. After a long time, he slowly lowered his head and stared blankly at his own paw pads stepping on the floor, unable to digest the shock in his heart for a long time.

The garden worker was a mutant species.

Li You withdrew his gaze and turned his head. As soon as he looked up, he saw Li Ye standing not far away in front of the glass window, looking outside. His raised front paw instantly froze in midair, and he couldn’t help but let out a soft “Mew” from his mouth.

Li Ye tilted his head slightly toward this side, his gaze falling on the ragdoll cat.

Li You took a step back and looked at his older brother with slight panic.

Li Ye lowered his head to look at the cat rubbing against his leg, showing no reaction.

After a long silence, Li You even started licking his paws. He pondered how to leave this place. If Li Ye wouldn’t take him, he’d have to figure it out himself.

His four paws flailed randomly in the air a few times. The kitty looked up at Li Ye and discovered the other’s gaze was on him.

Li Ye’s brow was furrowed.

He hadn’t had such an expression even when looking out the glass window earlier.

Li You’s four legs kneading the air slowly stopped. He quietly gazed at Li Ye’s face and, in a daze, made an instinctive action—he raised his head, pressed his pink nose tip against Li Ye’s chin, and gently licked his older brother’s face with his soft tongue.
