Recently, due to a bug when splitting chapters, it was only possible to upload using whole numbers, which is why recent releases ended up with a higher chapter number than the actual chapter number. The chapters already uploaded and their respective novels can no longer be fixed unless we edit and re-upload them chapter by chapter(Chapters content are okay, just the number in the list is incorrect), but that would take a lot of time. Therefore, those uploaded in that way will remain as they are. The bug has been fixed(lasted 1 day), as seen with the recently uploaded novels, which can be split into parts and everything works as usual. From now on, all new content will be uploaded in correct order as before the bug happens. If time permits in the future, we may attempt to reorganize the previously affected chapters.

Chapter 9: Is It You, Fu Huixu?

Ji Zhi suddenly remembered that he had vaguely felt the top fan’s voice was somewhat similar to Fu Huixu’s before. But at the time, he hadn’t given it much thought—after all, Fu Huixu didn’t seem like he could have any connection to Zhi Zhi.

Now, however, it appeared that Fu Huixu was one of Zhi Zhi’s fans.

Moreover, Ji Zhi recalled how the top fan had mentioned moving back to his dorm. He had thought it was quite the coincidence back then, that the other guy went to a school that also did dorm checks.

But if it was Fu Huixu, it all made perfect sense. They were both students at A University, after all.

Thinking back on it now, the timing lined up exactly with the day Fu Huixu had moved into the dorm. And Fu Huixu should have just finished his advanced calculus class around then too…

Could there really be so many coincidences piling up like this?

Or could the top fan actually be Fu Huixu?!

The moment this suspicion surfaced in his mind, Ji Zhi’s body shuddered as if struck by thunder right beside his ear.

Chen Xingwen noticed Ji Zhi’s odd reaction. “The cafeteria’s not running the AC right now. Is it really that cold? Why are you shaking?”

Ji Zhi let out a hollow sigh. “I suspect the top fan is Fu Huixu.”

Chen Xingwen: “…”

Now it was his turn to jolt in shock.

The two stared at each other in silence. Chen Xingwen opened his mouth to speak, only to find himself too stunned to get a single word out.

Ji Zhi laid out all his points of suspicion for Chen Xingwen.

Chen Xingwen had been ready to refute him confidently before, but now, hearing all these suspicious details, he swallowed his words.

Chen Xingwen hesitated. “Well… this… that… It does seem possible now, but it’s all just speculation.”

“Why don’t you verify it with the top fan…?”

That was exactly what Ji Zhi had in mind.

If Fu Huixu was just an ordinary fan, that would be fine. But if he was the top fan…

Ji Zhi didn’t dare dwell on it.

Naturally, he couldn’t just go back to the dorm and straight-up ask Fu Huixu if he was the top fan. Instead, he decided to probe from the top fan’s side.

Chen Xingwen suggested, “Why don’t you make up an excuse and have the top fan send you a photo of his dorm?”

Ji Zhi had already thought of that. He fired off a tentative message.

【Ji Zhi: How’s it feel moving into the new dorm?】

He rarely delved into the top fan’s daily life during their chats.

That was precisely why he worried a direct question might arouse suspicion.

【Top Fan: It’s fine. What’s up, Baby?】

【Top Fan: Baby, why aren’t you resting yet? Your throat hurts—you need to rest properly.】

【Ji Zhi: Typing’s no problem. I just suddenly remembered how you can’t call now that you’re in the dorm.】

He tried to keep his tone casual, as always, subtly showing interest in the top fan’s dorm without making it obvious.

The top fan seemed to pick up on it and finally sent a photo of his dorm room.

With trembling fingertips, Ji Zhi tapped it open.

The moment he saw the photo clearly, he shot up from his seat. Chen Xingwen jumped in alarm. “What? What is it?”

Ji Zhi turned his phone screen toward Chen Xingwen.

Chen Xingwen recognized the dorm room instantly—it was all too familiar. He’d visited Ji Zhi here countless times; it felt like a second home to him.

There was the familiar desk, the expensive-looking bedsheet the housekeeper had laid out for Fu Huixu, and even a corner of Ji Zhi’s own bed sneaking into the frame…

This was Ji Zhi’s dorm!!!

The top fan was Fu Huixu!!!!

Chen Xingwen leaped to his feet in shock as well.

Luckily, the cafeteria was nearly empty at this hour, and they’d chosen a corner spot. Otherwise, people would have been staring by now.

The two gaped at each other.

Ji Zhi’s fingertips shook violently; he could barely hold onto his phone.

After all, he’d only suspected before. He hadn’t expected the guess to be confirmed so definitively.

The top fan had been that close all along!

No wonder he’d said no one else was in the dorm right now—because Fu Huixu was currently in the cafeteria!

The cafeteria staff began clearing out for closing time, shooing Ji Zhi and Chen Xingwen to leave.

As they stepped outside, the two were still reeling.

This revelation was a massive shock for both of them.

Even Chen Xingwen felt dazed—what about Ji Zhi, the one directly involved?

It wasn’t until a cool night breeze swept over them that they finally snapped out of it a little.

Chen Xingwen turned to Ji Zhi, panic in his voice. “What do we do now?”

“Fu Huixu really is… Are you still going back to the dorm?”

Ji Zhi had calmed down by now. “Yeah, they’ve got dorm checks. Besides, I don’t have anywhere else to go right now.”

Chen Xingwen remembered that too.

The school was checking dorms every night—no overnight stays off-campus allowed. Ji Zhi had no way to crash elsewhere.

He and Ji Zhi were in different dorm buildings too. Once checks were done and the buildings locked, Ji Zhi couldn’t come over to his place.

That realization made Chen Xingwen worry. “But didn’t you say the top fan was acting weird? If it’s Fu Huixu, won’t that put you in danger?”

His mind flashed to several cases where top fans, unhappy after meeting their streamer in person, had stabbed them in rage. He dreaded Ji Zhi becoming the first cross-dressing streamer to meet that fate.

Back when Ji Zhi had first started streaming, they must have talked about it a lot—big data kept pushing similar news articles to Chen Xingwen. That was a big reason Ji Zhi avoided getting too close with top fans.

Ji Zhi was a bit worried too. From what he knew of the top fan, it might not even be a knife coming his way.

“It’s fine. He doesn’t know who I am yet.” That was the thought that let Ji Zhi force some calm.

He knew Fu Huixu was the top fan, but Fu Huixu didn’t know he was Zhi Zhi.

Luckily, his streaming voice was different from his everyday one, and Fu Huixu had no intention of chatting with him anyway. So he hadn’t been recognized.

Reminded by Ji Zhi, Chen Xingwen realized he’d been too worked up and overlooked that.

Chen Xingwen: “Right.”

“Bro, don’t worry. I’m always got your back. Hit me up if you need anything.”

Ji Zhi: “Now’s not the time for you to stand behind me.”

Ever since those three gay guys had latched onto him, Ji Zhi always felt weird whenever Chen Xingwen offered to stand behind him.

Better if he stood in front or beside him.

Still, Chen Xingwen’s little interlude eased Ji Zhi’s initial tension.

Dorm check time was approaching, so they parted ways quickly, heading to their respective buildings.

Hanging with Chen Xingwen had been fine, but now, walking alone toward the dorm, Ji Zhi’s nerves tightened again.

When he pushed open the dorm door, his tension peaked.

He crept inside quietly and saw Fu Huixu standing by his bed, phone in hand, typing away with his head bowed.

As before, Fu Huixu’s attention wasn’t on Ji Zhi at all.

Ji Zhi couldn’t help feeling relieved at how Fu Huixu ignored him completely. It spared him the polite greeting upon entering—otherwise, he might have given himself away.

Though he told himself in his head to act normal, Ji Zhi’s gaze still drifted involuntarily toward Fu Huixu.

Even with the top fan identity confirmed, he still struggled to picture that icy face softly calling him “Baby.”

He’d always assumed the top fan’s looks were holding back his love life. Now it seemed he had no shortage of admirers. Who knew why he’d taken a shine to Ji Zhi?

Ji Zhi had no intention of revealing himself to the top fan. He was just glad he hadn’t leaked any personal info before—otherwise, Fu Huixu would surely have figured it out…

A whirlwind of thoughts churned in Ji Zhi’s mind, leaving him in a complicated mood.

Ding—

A message notification chimed in the quiet room, snapping Ji Zhi back to reality.

He first thought it was Fu Huixu’s phone, but when he noticed Fu Huixu’s gaze flick over, he realized it was his own.

Ji Zhi sneaked a glance at Fu Huixu, confirming he only looked once before looking away. Then he pulled out his phone to check.

【Top Fan: Baby, why’d you suddenly stop replying? You okay?】

Ji Zhi: “…”

He’d almost forgotten he hadn’t replied to the top fan… er, Fu Huixu.

After seeing those dorm photos, he and Chen Xingwen had both zoned out completely, forgetting all about responding. Fu Huixu must have waited a bit without a reply and messaged again to check.

No wonder he’d been standing by the bed typing—it was to message him.

Ji Zhi first muted Fu Huixu’s special notification tone, then typed back quickly: 【Just went to take my medicine. Couldn’t reply in time.】

【The dorm’s great, but how long are you planning to stay here?】

After sending, Ji Zhi looked up at Fu Huixu.

He hadn’t paid much attention before, but now, observing closely, he saw Fu Huixu typing with his head down, a gentle light in those dark eyes, especially clear under the room’s glow.

At the same time, Ji Zhi’s phone buzzed with new messages.

【Top Fan: Good you took the medicine. Such an obedient Baby.】

【Top Fan: Won’t be too long. Don’t worry, Baby. Wait a bit more, and once my off-campus approval comes through, we can call freely like before.】

Ji Zhi: !!!

He wasn’t worried about the calls!

But sure enough, just as Fu Huixu had told him that day, he wouldn’t be staying here long-term.

Great, great. He just had to hold out until Fu Huixu’s off-campus approval went through.

Finally, using the excuse of needing rest, Ji Zhi wrapped up their chat. He sneaked another peek at Fu Huixu.

Though Fu Huixu had heard the notification chime earlier, he clearly hadn’t connected him to Zhi Zhi.

After all, Fu Huixu had no idea he was a student and assumed he lived alone off-campus.

Fair enough—if not for that photo belonging to Fu Huixu and the slip-up in his messages, Ji Zhi wouldn’t have linked them either.
