Ye Mingxu’s eyes burned with resolve as he lowered his head and bit down on the nape of Yu Sui’s neck.
Yu Sui shuddered violently and snapped awake.
He almost wished he hadn’t.
What… what the hell was this?
The man sprawled on the floor glared at them with bloodshot eyes.
Yu Sui’s body trembled with every jolt. He tried to speak, but only fragmented moans escaped his lips.
“Ye… Ye… Mingxu…”
He called out the man’s name, desperate for him to stop. But his husband only grew more frenzied.
“Sui Sui…” The man’s voice came out hoarse and ragged.
Meng Chenxiao stared in stunned silence. He’d seen it before, but this? He was shocked. How could that even fit?
So they hadn’t actually done it before?
To provoke him further, Ye Mingxu gripped the crook of Yu Sui’s knee and yanked him tightly into his arms, his possessiveness on full display.
Meng Chenxiao craned his neck, eyes locked on Yu Sui’s dangling legs. His Adam’s apple bobbed as his throat went dry.
It was all too much for Yu Sui—he just wanted to black out right then and there. But his mind only sharpened with every passing second.
He bit his lip hard, desperate to hold back any sounds.
His body went rigid, tense with what might have been nerves… or rejection.
Ye Mingxu read it as the latter. Fury surged through him, and his thrusts turned even more punishing.
Tears spilled from Yu Sui’s eyes.
Ye Mingxu froze for a moment, then gradually softened his touch.
“I… I want…” Yu Sui regretted downing all that alcohol. He felt miserable now.
Ye Mingxu blinked in surprise and reached down to stroke his belly. “Sui Sui.”
“I need to use the bathroom,” Yu Sui whimpered, his voice thick with tears.
“Sui Sui, I’ll take you there.” His husband’s pleading gaze made Ye Mingxu swallow hard. He scooped Yu Sui up and carried him toward the bathroom.
The man on the floor watched their retreating backs with resentment, but he held his tongue. His own arousal…
Ye Mingxu had no intention of leaving. He kept a firm hold on his husband and even whistled encouragingly.
Yu Sui went rigid. He couldn’t hold it back.
Ye Mingxu watched intently, regretting the lack of a mirror.
He didn’t rush out. Instead, he carried Yu Sui under the showerhead and turned on the warm water.
Yu Sui shivered.
His husband’s strength was impressive—he’d been held aloft the whole time, his toes never touching the ground.
Yu Sui begged for mercy. He felt like he was dying.
“Say some sweet nothings, Sui Sui. Maybe I’ll let you go.” His husband’s pitiful expression finally tugged at Ye Mingxu’s heartstrings.
Yu Sui’s cheeks burned as he murmured that he liked him, loved him.
“That’s not gonna cut it.” Ye Mingxu turned him to face him directly. “You know what I want to hear, Sui Sui.”
Yu Sui stiffened, his mind flashing to the filthy whispers his husband had murmured in his ear over the past couple of days.
“Mingxu… I…”
The words stuck in his throat, barely a whisper.
But to Ye Mingxu, hearing his husband actively beg for it was enough to drive him insane.
The steamy, intimate atmosphere in the bathroom left Meng Chenxiao outside suffering as he listened to every sound.
A vein throbbed at his temple. He felt like he’d been dragged into their little game.
He’d finally broken free of his restraints, but they were a married couple. He was just the dirty secret.
He bit his lip, his face twisting as he glanced down honestly.
Yu Sui finally drifted into a deep, exhausted sleep.
Ye Mingxu bathed him gently, slipped a bathrobe onto his limp form, and cradled him close as he stepped out of the bathroom. His eyes immediately landed on the shameless dog of a man leering after his husband.
His good mood evaporated. “You really are shameless.”
Meng Chenxiao didn’t respond. He just stared at the man cradled in Ye Mingxu’s arms. Even the sliver of exposed calf was covered in kiss marks. The guy’s possessiveness was terrifying.
Ye Mingxu scowled. He had nothing more to say to him and carried Yu Sui away.
Meng Chenxiao seethed with unwillingness but didn’t give chase.
Yu Sui woke the next day in a haze, utterly disoriented.
A strange ache in his body made his expression shift repeatedly. “I…”
[Host… you okay?] The System asked tentatively. [Yesterday’s mosaic was endless.]
Yu Sui choked. “I…”
The memory of that sober moment hit him like a truck, and darkness swam before his eyes. “What the hell happened…”
[Seemed like they got into some bondage play.] The System replied.
“But I… how did he… to me?” Yu Sui’s face grew grave. He tried to push past the discomfort, but the soreness in his waist and back…
[Maybe they had a fight? Trying to make each other jealous?] The System speculated.
“Does that even make sense?” Yu Sui asked dubiously.
[What else could it be?]
Man and System were deep in thought when Ye Mingxu entered, carrying food.
His expression was mild. “Sui Sui, you’re awake. How are you feeling?”
Yu Sui flushed with embarrassment. “I… I…”
Ye Mingxu moved to his side and helped him sit up. “Eat first, Sui Sui.”
Yu Sui clamped his mouth shut and ducked his head.
Once he’d fed Yu Sui the meal, the man stayed perched on the edge of the bed, refusing to leave.
“What… what do you want?” Yu Sui asked warily.
“What were you planning with him yesterday, Sui Sui?” Ye Mingxu inquired.
Yu Sui blinked in confusion. “Huh?”
“Still lying to me?” Ye Mingxu’s lips twisted. “If I hadn’t been one step ahead, he would’ve…”
His face darkened at the thought of Meng Chenxiao’s intentions.
“What?” Yu Sui blurted, shocked.
“You didn’t know?” Ye Mingxu studied him closely.
Yu Sui just looked lost.
“What’s your relationship with him, Sui Sui?” Ye Mingxu pressed, sensing something off.
“I…” Yu Sui’s lips parted. He consulted the System.
[Showtime.]
At those words, Yu Sui averted his gaze. “Sorry… Mingxu… I…”
Ye Mingxu’s heart plummeted. He seized Yu Sui’s hand. “So you want a divorce? To be with him?”
Yu Sui shook his head vigorously. “I never thought that.”
“Then what? Keep us both on the hook?” Ye Mingxu’s eyes narrowed. “Did something happen between you two at the office before?”
Yu Sui shook his head. How could it have?
But Ye Mingxu was jealous, no doubt about it.
Still, being the guinea pig to test loyalties made Yu Sui want to hurl.
“I don’t care about the past. But if I catch you again, I’ll lock you up.” Ye Mingxu’s hand slipped under Yu Sui’s shirt, caressing his belly. “Knock you up with my kid.”
Yu Sui went rigid and blurted, “I’m a man…”
“If you can’t get pregnant, I won’t step out.” Ye Mingxu shot back.
Yu Sui paled. “You…”
“Be good, and I won’t go that far.” Seeing the fear in his eyes, Ye Mingxu dialed back his intensity and pulled him into an embrace. “Sui Sui, I love you. I can’t stand you getting close to anyone else. You get that, right?”
Yu Sui fell silent, his body tense.
Ye Mingxu took it as rejection all over again.
His heart ached, but it didn’t matter. He’d claim Yu Sui—body and soul—until he belonged to no one else.
After the ordeal of the previous day, Yu Sui spent the next few days recuperating in the hotel. He didn’t see his boss at all, and Ye Mingxu had confiscated his phone.
Thankfully, his husband didn’t push things further. But those intense stares still unnerved Yu Sui.
Meng Chenxiao bombarded Yu Sui with calls and messages. No replies.
He knew that man was behind it.
He tried messaging Ye Mingxu directly. Stonewalled.
But he couldn’t exactly force his way through the door—they were legally married, after all.
Meng Chenxiao fumed, helpless.
His ambition to claim the top spot burned fiercer than ever.
Once Yu Sui had recovered, Ye Mingxu took him home first.
Only at the airport did his husband hand back the phone.
Under that oppressive gaze, Yu Sui messaged his boss that he was heading back early.
Seeing no extra words, Ye Mingxu’s mood soared. He stroked Yu Sui’s hair with a smile. “Such a good boy, Sui Sui.”
Yu Sui shivered.
That very night back home, Ye Mingxu climbed into bed with him.
“Take the lead tonight, Sui Sui, and I’ll call it even after once.” Ye Mingxu gripped his ankle, rubbing slowly. A wicked smile played on his strikingly handsome face.
Yu Sui’s scalp prickled. “I…”
“Looks like you really missed me, Sui Sui.” Ye Mingxu teased, misreading his hesitation.
Yu Sui shook his head frantically. “You promised.”
Ye Mingxu nodded.
Cheeks aflame, Yu Sui turned his back to the man. The shame was overwhelming; his legs trembled uncontrollably.
Ye Mingxu swallowed hard, his eyes riveted as he watched his husband move step by step…
It was unbearably tempting.
Soon, Yu Sui’s strength gave out. His hand slipped, and he ended up kneeling astride the man’s lap.
The sudden shift left them both frozen.
Sweat beaded on Ye Mingxu’s forehead. This was torture.
His eyes burned red. He nearly lost control.
He couldn’t just sit back and watch anymore—especially since his husband lacked the stamina anyway.
With a roll, he flipped them over and seized control once more.
He didn’t renege on the deal, though. Just one round—and it lasted a while.
The next morning, Yu Sui rose with shaky legs but powered through, dressing neatly and grabbing his briefcase for work.
Ye Mingxu noted his sour expression and coughed, a touch guilty. “Let me drive you.”
“No need.” Yu Sui’s face was icy.
He hailed a cab to the office and vented to the System along the way. “I can’t keep this up. This life is impossible.”
The thought of forever being their jealousy-fueling pawn made his legs go weak.
[Check out the protagonist gong’s vibe.] The System said. [Bet he’s totally rattled.]
Yu Sui clenched his fist.
In the office…
He stepped inside and immediately felt a scorching gaze. Looking up, he met his boss’s stoic face. Yu Sui froze.
“I… uh…” His confidence evaporated in an instant.
“You said you wouldn’t let him touch you.” Meng Chenxiao licked his lips, the man looking thoroughly satisfied in a way that made it impossible to look away.
Yu Sui felt a wave of relief upon hearing those words. As expected, he was angry. So then…
“Sui Sui.” Meng Chenxiao called him affectionately. “When are you going to let me take the top spot?”
He couldn’t tolerate these shady days any longer. He didn’t even have the right to complain.
Yu Sui stared blankly at those words. “What?”
“You’re stringing me along every day, and now you’re playing dumb?” Meng Chenxiao stood up. “Yu Sui, are you trying to dump me?”
Did he think that now his wife was better and could satisfy him, making Meng Chenxiao expendable?
Had he become nothing more than a tool to heat up their relationship?
Meng Chenxiao wasn’t willing to accept that. He took a step forward. “Yu Sui, stop pretending to be clueless.”
“Me, stringing you along? Huh?” Yu Sui was utterly baffled. “What the hell are you rambling about?”
Seeing him turn hostile like this, Meng Chenxiao laughed in frustration. “You deliberately brought me home, deliberately let me see and hear your intimate moments. Wasn’t that all to draw me in?”
