After Marrying Professor Song 48

Chapter 48

The premiere was a resounding success.

The theater erupted in thunderous applause and cheers at the end of the performance, lasting for a long time.

As always, Lu Xuefeng took the final bow, his gaze sweeping across the audience, genuinely grateful for their appreciation of the collective effort.

He exited the stage.

Song Muqing was waiting for him with a large bouquet of flowers and a warm embrace.

They held each other tightly.

The dancers passing by tactfully gave them space.

“Congratulations, Director Lu. The performance was perfect,” Song Muqing said.

Lu Xuefeng smiled, accepting his congratulations.

They didn’t linger; Lu Xuefeng still had work to do, meeting with the team and giving an interview.

They shared a quick kiss. “Wait for me,” Lu Xuefeng said.

“Okay,” Song Muqing nodded, his gaze soft and affectionate. “Go ahead.”

He would wait patiently.

After the interview and farewells, Lu Xuefeng returned to Song Muqing.

As they left the theater, they received congratulations from colleagues and friends, Lu Xuefeng accepting them graciously.

Everyone was accustomed to seeing Song Muqing with him; he had often visited during rehearsals. They knew he was Lu Xuefeng’s husband.

They were wearing matching outfits today, their coats seemingly identical, their inner layers complementary, a clear display of their affection.

At the entrance, Song Muqing wrapped a scarf around Lu Xuefeng’s neck. It was cold outside.

He then took his hand, tucking it into his warm pocket.

“What would you like to eat, Director Lu? I’m at your service.”

Lu Xuefeng’s eyes crinkled with a smile. “Anything, as long as you make it.”

He loved Song Muqing’s cooking.

On a cold winter night like this, a warm, home-cooked meal was all they needed.

The success of his new production further solidified Lu Xuefeng’s reputation in the dance world.

But he and the team remained humble, continuing to work hard for their upcoming performances.

Although still busy, it wasn’t as hectic as before.

So, he had more time to spend with Song Muqing.

Lu Xuefeng received numerous invitations, including one from the dance department at Z University, requesting him to give a lecture.

He was surprised and showed it to Song Muqing.

Song Muqing raised an eyebrow, not overly surprised, simply commenting, “Our university has good taste. They should definitely invite you.”

A compliment both to his university and to Lu Xuefeng.

Lu Xuefeng smiled faintly. “You’re flattering me.”

“No,” Song Muqing looked at him, pulling him into a hug. “You’re talented.”

It was a winter afternoon, the warm sunlight streaming in through the window, their loungewear cozy and comfortable.

“Are you accepting the invitation, Director Lu?” Song Muqing asked, knowing he had declined several lecture invitations recently.

Lu Xuefeng looked at him, raising an eyebrow. “Wouldn’t it be disrespectful to your university if I declined?”

Song Muqing chuckled. “Would you do me that favor then?”

Lu Xuefeng pretended to consider it. “Alright,” he agreed. “A special perk for family members.”

He could visit Z University, meet the students, and share his recent insights on classical dance and choreography.

Lu Xuefeng’s skin seemed almost translucent in the sunlight, his soft, short hair slightly lighter in the warm glow. He looked relaxed and approachable.

Song Muqing, his forehead touching Lu Xuefeng’s, asked, “Is that the only perk for family members?”

“What else do you want?” Lu Xuefeng teased, telling him not to push his luck.

Song Muqing lifted him into his arms, kissing him as he carried him to the bedroom. Lu Xuefeng playfully tried to avoid his kisses, making Song Muqing laugh. He pressed him against the door, kissing him deeply before carrying him to the bed.

“How about a special perk just for me, hmm?” he whispered.

Lu Xuefeng didn’t say anything more.

He was too lost in the moment to speak, his special perk already given.

The room was filled with warmth and desire.

Even their moans were a symphony.

The sunlight, falling on their intertwined bodies, seemed to heighten the intimacy.

Lu Xuefeng accepted Z University’s invitation and contacted the department head to arrange the details, coordinating his schedule with the students’ timetable.

On the day of the lecture, Song Muqing had a morning class.

Lu Xuefeng was still asleep when he left.

Song Muqing kissed his forehead before leaving, telling him to sleep a little longer.

Lu Xuefeng had no other engagements today and could sleep in; the lecture was in the afternoon.

So, Song Muqing had been particularly passionate last night, his touch both gentle and possessive.

Lu Xuefeng was desirable, and Song Muqing couldn’t help but feel a pang of jealousy.

In the afternoon, Lu Xuefeng went to the university.

Someone from the department was there to receive him.

After settling in, the students began to fill the lecture hall.

It was packed, everyone eager to hear Lu Xuefeng, a renowned choreographer.

The heating was on high, and with so many people, the room felt stuffy.

Lu Xuefeng set his coat aside and stood behind the lectern, his posture tall and straight, his expression calm and composed.

A large screen behind him displayed the title of his lecture.

He glanced at the audience, his gaze lingering briefly on the back rows before returning to the stage.

The students whispered amongst themselves.

A few latecomers slipped in through the back door.

As Lu Xuefeng began to speak, the room fell silent, everyone listening attentively.

Just then, someone in the crowd noticed an unexpected figure.

Why was Professor Song from the biology department here?

Attending a lecture by the dance department?

Song Muqing was sitting quietly in the back rows, wearing his familiar silver-rimmed glasses, a faint smile on his lips.

His refined demeanor seemed out of place among the young students.

He was quite noticeable.

Two female students were sitting beside him. As avid forum users, they couldn’t help but glance at him in surprise.

After a while, one of them, a girl with short hair, couldn’t contain her curiosity. “Professor Song,” she asked hesitantly, “are you… interested in dance?”

She struggled to phrase the question politely.

Song Muqing looked at them, shaking his head.

“Then why are you here?”

His gaze returned to the stage, to Lu Xuefeng.

Lu Xuefeng, a renowned choreographer, an artist, his every move elegant and refined, his demeanor cool and collected, hiding the warmth and passion they had shared last night.

He was wearing a black turtleneck sweater, revealing a hint of his pale neck. Only Song Muqing knew the marks he had left there last night.

After a moment, he replied softly, “Can’t I come see my beloved?”
