Chapter 6: Mo Lin: There’s Something Wrong with His Brain. I Heard He’s Mentally Ill.

Unlike the skyscraper-choked bustle of the Capital Star, the Lyra Constellation was warm and humid, a climate perfect for diverse flora and fauna. The journey took them past sprawling farms and glass greenhouses nurturing exotic flowers and fruits. Even the air carried a faint, sweet fragrance.

Princess Xiya’s residence was nestled at the edge of a vast vineyard. She had claimed a plot of land for a private estate—a pastoral-style villa surrounded by lush, thriving greenery. Life here seemed peaceful and effortlessly comfortable.

Luo Fei and Emile were dropped off at the gate. The old steward immediately came forward to greet them.

Luo Fei recognized the steward. As the man moved to bow, Luo Fei caught him by the arm. “No outsiders here. We can dispense with the formalities.”

The steward beamed. “Yes, Your Highness. Please, come in. The Madam has dinner ready.”

Luo Fei had barely stepped inside when Princess Xiya rushed over. She looked up at him, her eyes warm and gentle. “Luo Fei, you’ve grown so tall. Last time I saw you, you were only a few centimeters taller than me. Now, I barely reach your chest.”

An Alpha’s growth spurt hit hard around seventeen or eighteen. In a year and a half, the First Prince had shot up over ten centimeters, his frame already rivaling his father’s.

Luo Fei leaned down and embraced her gently. “Aunt, has your health improved at all?”

She smiled, nodding. “I’m doing quite well. How is your Royal Father? Everyone back home? I haven’t been back in over a year.”

“Everyone is well, I assure you.” Luo Fei reached into his bag and pulled out an exquisite box, offering it to her. “My Royal Father asked me to bring this gift for you.”

Princess Xiya opened it. Inside lay a stunning ruby necklace, flawlessly crafted. Tucked within its spatial button was a state-of-the-art medical monitoring mecha, capable of constantly tracking the wearer’s vitals. This was clearly a cutting-edge product not yet available on the market.

For Xize, the ruler of the Empire, weighed down by affairs of state, to so thoughtfully send her exactly what she needed… Xiya carefully tucked the necklace away, her eyes glistening. “He still worries about me, his older sister.”

“My Royal Father is just busy, unable to get away himself. You should visit the Capital Star to see him when your health permits,” Luo Fei said.

She nodded. “I will. Once I’m a bit stronger, I will definitely make the trip.”

She led him into the dining room. The table was, indeed, groaning under a lavish spread.

Xiya gazed at him affectionately. “Eat up. I made all of these myself.”

He sighed, a touch helpless. “You shouldn’t be cooking in your condition. Leave kitchen work to the servants.”

“But you’re here so rarely! You must try my cooking.” She slid his favorite pastries closer to him. Noticing him glancing around, she explained, “My husband and your other cousin aren’t here. Work at the company has been frantic. They’re at the cultivation base in the Cigar Galaxy and haven’t returned yet.”

Emile added, “We’re partnering on a major project with the Fengyang Group. That’s why Father and Big Brother went personally to inspect things.”

Luo Fei turned to him at that. “Partnering with the Fengyang Group?”

“Mm.” Emile elaborated. “You probably don’t follow the business world much. Fengyang Group is currently the absolute best in intelligent systems programming. Our cultivation bases need a complete intelligent system overhaul, so Father reached an agreement with them.”

Emile’s father was a local magnate in the food industry, owning countless farms and fruit cultivation bases, his products ranking among the Empire’s top sellers. From Emile’s description, this Fengyang Group partnership was about integrating their advanced management programs—a strong alliance to boost food processing efficiency.

Emile continued, “Because of this partnership, Old Master Mo’s birthday banquet invitation extended to us as well. My father is stuck in the Cigar Galaxy, so he’s sending me as his representative.”

Princess Xiya cast a long-suffering look at her son. “Don’t bore Luo Fei with business talk he doesn’t care about. Can we just eat?”

But Luo Fei smiled. “No, I’m quite interested.”

Xiya was startled. “Really? You… have an interest in business?”

Luo Fei admitted freely, “I’m just very interested in the Fengyang Group and the Mo family. I keep hearing that name everywhere.”

Xiya considered this. “The Fengyang Group is certainly prominent. The current head, Mo Qiming, is always in the top ten of the Empire’s wealth rankings. I don’t understand much about business myself, just what I hear from my husband. He’s always praised CEO Mo, saying he has brilliant business acumen and always seizes the best opportunities.”

Emile picked up a piece of beef and placed it in her bowl. “You don’t need to understand any of that. Father and I handle the earning. You just handle the spending.”

Xiya laughed. Hearing this, a smile also touched Luo Fei’s lips.

When Princess Xiya had married far away back then, her family had been so reluctant to let her go.

It was a relief she had met an Alpha who so cherished and adored her, and raised a son so devoted and filial. Her life was peaceful and sweet.

Knowing this… his Royal Father could finally set his heart at ease.

The next day at noon, Luo Fei and Emile arrived at the Mo family’s private estate.

A steward stood at the entrance, smiling as he greeted guests. Emile stepped forward, presented their invitation, and they were admitted.

The scale of this private estate was breathtaking, almost rivaling the Imperial Palace itself. Its architectural style was unique—none of the gilded, nouveau-riche ostentation Luo Fei had anticipated. Instead, it was exquisitely refined and elegantly serene.

Right inside the entrance, a stone bridge arched over a massive man-made lake filled with beautiful ornamental fish. The water was crystal clear, the fish swimming leisurely. Along the shore, trees heavy with verdant foliage intertwined, swaying gently in the breeze. The air hummed with the sounds of insects. It felt like stepping deep into a living botanical garden.

Humanity had long since embraced the high-tech age. To save space, many buildings on the Capital Star were suspended mid-air. Yet, the more people lived in sterile, mechanized urban environments, the more they craved this kind of original, natural ecology. The Mo family, one of the Empire’s wealthiest, choosing such a back-to-nature residence… it made sense.

Luo Fei followed Emile across the bridge, winding along the picturesque stone pathways.

Surrounded by flowers and plants, it was like being lost in a garden landscape.

The air, dense with greenery, was exceptionally fresh.

Led by a service robot, they finally reached the main villa. The birthday banquet hadn’t officially started yet. Guests inside the main hall were clustered in small groups, mingling.

The wealthy young ladies attending the event were all decked out in their finest. A young Omega nearby was practically a walking jewelry exhibition, draped in dazzling, priceless gems. Another group of Omegas was huddled together, animatedly discussing the latest designer fashion. Further off, an Alpha scion was openly flirting with an Omega girl, his body language highly suggestive.

Luo Fei’s gaze swept coolly across the room. They were all roughly the same age group, but these empty-headed rich kids had nothing but money and not an ounce of substance. All flash, no substance—they’d go crying home to their parents the moment they met a real problem. Parasites, every one of them.

Emile leaned close and whispered, “Every single Omega here is meticulously dolled up. Know why?”

Luo Fei arched an eyebrow. “Why?”

“Because the Mo family’s eldest son, Mo Han, is currently single,” Emile said with a knowing grin. “These families are rich, sure, but compared to the Fengyang Group? Ants. If one of them catches Mo Han’s eye… they’re set for life. Marrying into the Mo family would also pull their own family businesses up by the bootstraps.”

Luo Fei nodded in understanding. Arranged business marriages were common practice.

It wasn’t just business; political unions in the military and government circles were equally widespread. In these circles, marriage could be a weapon to achieve an objective. Genuine feelings, in contrast, were often seen as far less important than so-called “family interests.”

That was exactly why he admired his Royal Father so much.

Back then, his Dad hadn’t publicly revealed his Omega identity, instead disguising himself as a Beta to attend military academy. His Royal Father, a Prince, had dared to be with a Beta of unremarkable background. The sheer courage that took… most Alphas couldn’t even conceive of it.

Perhaps his Royal Father’s influence ran too deep; Luo Fei’s own views on love were shaped by it.

He only wanted to find a Prince Consort he genuinely liked and admired, regardless of their background.

He was the First Prince. He possessed ample power to protect the one he loved. He had no need for a political marriage.

Watching the Omegas all prettied up like merchandise on a shelf, vying for the Mo family scion’s favor, Luo Fei just felt disgusted.

Lowering his voice, he asked, “Is Mo Han the designated heir of the Fengyang Group?”

Emile nodded. “Yes, Mo Qiming’s son. He’s quite good-looking, actually. And Mo Han is genuinely capable. Rumor has it his mental power was off the charts since childhood. Since he was sixteen, he’s been shadowing his father in the Fengyang Group’s management. Most of the highest-selling products in recent years were developed under his supervision. He’s only nineteen, but he already holds over 20% of the Group’s shares. His position in the Fengyang Group is second only to his father, Mo Qiming.”

From Emile’s description, this Mo Han seemed to have actual talent, not just a name.

But… nineteen?

In the Omega Association files his Royal Father had shown him, Mo Lin was also nineteen, also with exceptionally high mental power.

A flicker of confusion crossed Luo Fei’s face. “Doesn’t CEO Mo also have an Omega son named Mo Lin? How can he be the same age as Mo Han?”

Emile froze. Immediately, he dragged Luo Fei aside. “Keep your voice down.” He scanned the room to ensure no one was paying attention, then leaned in close to Luo Fei’s ear and whispered, “Mo Han and Mo Lin… they’re twins. Mo Han is the Alpha, the older brother. Mo Lin is the Omega, the younger. Mo Han, with all his capabilities, is his father’s greatest pride. But Mo Lin? Cough. Mo Lin is the forbidden topic in the Mo family. You really shouldn’t mention him.”

Luo Fei frowned. “A forbidden topic? Why?”

Emile cleared his throat, his voice dropping even lower. “He’s crippled. Lost the use of his legs. And there’s something wrong with his brain… I heard he’s mentally ill.”

Luo Fei: “…”

So, the Omega Association, in their grand genetic matching process… had matched him with a crippled, mentally ill Omega?

When the First Prince Luo Fei turned 18, the database screened the genes of all Omegas across the empire. The genes of a wealthy merchant's only son, Mo Lin, showed over 90% compatibility with the First Prince. However, the moment Luo Fei met Mo Lin, he realized that this Omega was a sickly invalid—paralyzed in both legs, suffering from hemiplegia, and also had a severe mental illness???

After school started, Luo Fei encountered a familiar-looking opponent during a mecha competition. He looked exactly like a certain Omega—tall and slender, with a handsome smile—and he nearly trashed Luo Fei's mecha.

——What happened to the promised paralysis???

1. A feigning sickness and weakness, actually sharp-tongued queen-type bottom × a gentle, loyal puppy prince top; the top spoils the bottom to the heavens;

2. An Alpha-Omega pairing. This is a story where both the top and bottom are peeling off each other's disguises. A light and sweet story, no angst;

3. Regarding point of view, the story starts from the top (Luo Fei)'s perspective, but the entire story revolves around the bottom. Later on there's a lot of bottom POV, so I chose to list it as bottom-focused. Actually, the top and bottom have equal screen time. Just enjoy the story, don't worry about the POV issue, muah.
