Chapter 51 Part 1: Extra 1
The fallout from the Shen Qiao incident hadn’t settled yet when the property manager of Jinzhu Bay personally came to see Shi Xu, seeking his opinion.
The manager, like most people, believed that their small community couldn’t contain someone of Shi Xu’s stature, that he would eventually return to the Anomaly Management Bureau, perhaps not as captain, but as director.
He phrased his question carefully, but Shi Xu’s counter-question was blunt. “You don’t want me to work here anymore? Are you firing me?”
The manager broke out in a cold sweat, quickly explaining, “Of course not! It’s our honor to have you here! With you around, Jinzhu Bay will remain the safest community in City S…”
The matter was dropped, the manager never again questioning Shi Xu’s intentions until he eventually resigned.
Did Shi Xu want to resign?
Of course not!
A high-paying, low-stress job with fixed hours was hard to come by. He would be foolish to return to the Anomaly Management Bureau and become a workhorse again.
However, even after leaving the bureau, he still frequently encountered pollutants. Like Qi Yu said, he seemed to attract them.
One afternoon, during his routine patrol, he found a newly evolved C-class pollutant in the bushes, gnawing on a rat. Through its transparent body, he could see the rat’s dismembered body being chewed and swallowed.
Shi Xu always found pollutants repulsive, but this was particularly unsettling.
Perhaps it was because the rat was already decaying, maggots wriggling in the pink flesh, still visible even inside the pollutant’s stomach.
The pollutant, sensing his powerful aura, stopped eating, not fleeing, but transforming into a child’s face, its expression pitiful.
“Big brother, please… spare me…” Its childish voice echoed, its tone as pitiful as its expression. “I’ve been… wandering… for so long… I’m so hungry… I didn’t steal… human food… I only ate… dead rats… from the sewers… I didn’t… do anything… bad…”
Before it could finish its plea, Shi Xu severed its throat, silencing it. Its pitiful expression remained frozen on its face, a tactic that would have swayed many, but not Shi Xu.
The former captain of the Anomaly Management Bureau only showed mercy to one pollutant: an SSS-class one.
Shi Xu, still carrying a handkerchief, his habit unchanged, meticulously cleaned his sword after eliminating the pollutant.
As he took out the handkerchief, it was snatched from his hand. He looked up, Gu Sui’s shadow falling over him, his eyes crinkling with a smile brighter than the setting sun.
“Wife, I’m… here… to take you… home~”
Now that Sui Sui was the size of a normal five-year-old, Shi Xu no longer worried about his safety. Pollutants below A-class couldn’t harm him.
Lately, Sui Sui had become attached to Qi Yu, often going out with him. Shi Xu would leave for work, and Qi Yu would arrive shortly after, taking Sui Sui with him.
Free from childcare duties, Gu Sui was happy, picking Shi Xu up from work every day. Although he had done this before, his mood had noticeably improved lately, his tentacles and tail, no longer hidden, swaying excitedly behind him, increasingly resembling a large, affectionate dog.
Gu Sui cleaned Shi Xu’s sword, shrinking it back into a dagger and returning it to its sheath. He took Shi Xu’s hand, swinging it gently. “I… bought… hot pot ingredients… today… Let’s have… hot pot… tonight…”
It wasn’t that Shi Xu didn’t like talking, but rather that he rarely had the chance around Gu Sui.
Gu Sui loved sharing every detail of his day, no matter how trivial. From the moment Shi Xu finished his patrol until the end of his shift, Gu Sui chattered incessantly.
Shi Xu didn’t stop him. He had initially found Gu Sui’s constant chatter annoying, but now, he felt uneasy without it, enjoying his rambling, especially during their intimate moments, his words filled with love and affection.
Inside the enclosed car, Shi Xu was trapped between Gu Sui and the steering wheel. As if anticipating the kiss, Gu Sui had deliberately adjusted the seat, minimizing the space between them, their bodies pressed close together.
The windows fogged up. Shi Xu’s jacket, removed by Gu Sui earlier, lay discarded, his sweater now damp with sweat.
His lips were numb from being repeatedly sucked and nibbled on, Gu Sui’s tongue exploring his mouth, still insatiable after who knew how many kisses.
Shi Xu had lost track of time, but he estimated about ten minutes.
It seemed like it would never end unless he stopped it.
And he always did.
A slight sting on his lip finally prompted him to push Gu Sui away. Their warm breaths mingled, their tongues still entangled even after their lips parted.
Gu Sui’s eyes, clouded with desire, searched his face, wanting more, his lips reaching for Shi Xu’s again, only to be stopped by Shi Xu’s hand.
He blinked, his golden eyes innocent and pleading, his muffled voice echoing in the small space. “Wife, I… want… more!”
He couldn’t resist Gu Sui’s pitiful expressions. A single look was enough to soften his heart.
And it wasn’t just Gu Sui who wanted more. Shi Xu did too.
He allowed himself a moment to catch his breath, then, under Gu Sui’s increasingly intense gaze, removed his hand, offering an invitation. “Continue.”
Gu Sui eagerly captured his lips again, his kiss even more fervent, as if trying to devour him.
Shi Xu could never match Gu Sui’s stamina. Even just kissing left him breathless. He pushed Gu Sui away again, leaning against the steering wheel, gasping for air.
Gu Sui, still full of energy, held him close, his lips, unable to reach Shi Xu’s, now trailing kisses along his ear, down his neck, each kiss accompanied by a whispered declaration of love.
“Like you…”
“Like you so much…”
“Want you… to devour me!!!”
Shi Xu’s eyes drooped with exhaustion, too tired to even tell him to shut up, but even if he had the energy, he wouldn’t.
He liked Gu Sui’s voice, his passionate, unrestrained words, reassuring him of his love.
Despite planning for hot pot, it was 9 pm by the time they finally ate.
While Gu Sui’s tentacle fragment prepared dinner, he took Shi Xu to the bathroom to clean up. By the time they returned downstairs, dinner was ready.
Gu Sui didn’t need to eat, only occasionally joining Shi Xu. His greatest pleasure was watching Shi Xu eat. He would have preferred feeding him, but rarely had the chance.
Today, however, after wearing Shi Xu out, he finally had his opportunity.
He held Shi Xu on his lap, busy tending to the hot pot, his gaze never leaving Shi Xu’s face.
“Wife, what… do you want… to eat? I’ll… cook… for you~”
“Ready… Ah—Open…”
“Still too hot? I’ll… blow… for Wife…”
Shi Xu endured for a while, then pushed his head away. “Do you even want me to eat?”
Gu Sui instantly cowered, apologizing. “Yes! Wife, I… wrong! I… won’t… bother you… Eat…”
The tentacles around them wriggled excitedly. Shi Xu didn’t think he could enjoy this meal in peace.
Fortunately, he wasn’t a big eater. Before Gu Sui’s intense gaze became too much, he stopped. “I’m full.”
Gu Sui’s hand immediately reached for his stomach, his voice filled with concern. “Full? But… Wife’s tummy… not big… Not even… as big… as my…”
A light slap landed on his cheek. Gu Sui offered his other cheek, coaxing him, “I… said… something wrong… Wife, don’t be… angry… Hit… this side… too… Once… not enough? Twice? Until… Wife… not angry…”
Shi Xu: “…”
He had never met anyone as persistent and clingy as Gu Sui.
He seemed oblivious to the concept of shame, willing to do anything for a bit of affection. And his clinginess had only intensified lately.
“You’re strange…” Shi Xu voiced his confusion.
“I… want to… be close… to Wife… Doesn’t Wife… like it?” He nuzzled his face against Shi Xu’s.
Shi Xu gave up trying to push him away, repeating, “You’re strange.”
Gu Sui: “Sui Sui… not here… I’m so happy… I can… have Wife… all to myself…”
The less time he spent with Sui Sui, the more energetic he became, wanting to be with Shi Xu constantly, even wanting to shrink and hide in his pocket while he was at work.
Then, they could be together in their own little world, making up for lost time.
Shi Xu, you mean cute…right???
