Chapter 86: Contradiction
The orange-red sun of the golden autumn evening cast a soft, shallow light over the earth.
Nuonuo lay in his papa’s arms, holding up his little hands, excitedly showing Fei Zhiyan the little red flower sticker on the back of his hand. “I… I have two! The other little friends only have one!”
Nuonuo tilted his little face up, and the tiny, bright light in his eyes, facing the sunset, seemed to be even more brilliant than the sun.
Fei Zhiyan lowered his eyes, his stern expression also softening. His face was dyed a layer of orange-red by the sunset, and his tone was tinged with a bit of gentleness. “Very amazing. Tonight, you can be rewarded with an extra cookie.”
Hearing his papa’s words, Nuonuo’s little hands clenched, and he happily and clingily rubbed against his papa’s neck. “I like to eat little cookies. I also ate little cookies at kindewgawten today!”
Before going to kindergarten this morning, Nuonuo’s chubby little face had been tense.
In fact, his mood in the morning was similar to Bai Xin’s. Faced with a strange new environment, Nuonuo had also been panicked and wanted to hide in his papa’s arms.
But Nuonuo also hoped even more that he could become a brave child.
“I want to become very amazing, just like Papa and my brothers!”
Nuonuo tilted his little face up, his clear, soft eyes still holding a hint of determination.
Fei Zhiyan saw the hope in Nuonuo’s eyes. His fingers, which were about to rub the little one’s hair, paused for a moment before he sighed lightly and put them down. “But Papa and my brothers… are not…” good people.
Fei Zhiyan closed his eyes, a self-deprecating scoff in his heart.
“You grow up well. Don’t be like us.”
Fei Zhiyan felt that he was not a very good role model, and he didn’t want Nuonuo to eventually grow up to be a terrifying existence. The little one was so cute; he deserved a bright and beautiful future.
Nuonuo, on the other hand, opened his little mouth, blinked a couple of times, and asked in confusion, “Why, ya? I also want to be a wittle villain, just like Papa!”
Fei Zhiyan’s motion of getting into the car stopped. He frowned slightly, wanting to say something, but seeing the driver sitting in the front row, he could only temporarily respond with a hum and get in the car.
Back at home, just as he got out of the car, a white, fluffy ball lunged at Nuonuo.
006 let out an excited bark, its four short little legs flapping so fast that in the blink of an eye, it had run from the steps to the main gate.
Having not seen Nuonuo all day, 006’s cheerful actions couldn’t be contained, and it directly bumped into the person in front of it, knocking itself over on its back.
“Wuuu, woof—”
Its four legs swayed in the air for a while before 006 lifted its little doggy head from its excitement and looked at the person in front of it.
But the moment it looked up, it met a slightly grim, sharp-eyed face.
006’s barking instantly stopped. It silently turned around, shook its head, which was covered in grass clippings, and took two small steps towards Nuonuo.
Fei Zhiyan looked at the stupid dog that had bumped into his leg, his brow twitching fiercely a couple of times. Then, thinking of what Nuonuo had said on the road, he simply half-crouched down and lifted the dog by the scruff of its neck with his fingers.
006 was held by the great villain, its little legs stiff, its eyeballs not daring to move. It quietly looked up and gave Fei Zhiyan a fawning smile.
Because Fei Zhiyan usually left early and came back late, the one person and one dog had really not run into each other many times. An opportunity like this, face-to-face, was probably a once-in-a-lifetime chance.
Quietly swallowing, 006 was carried upstairs by Fei Zhiyan.
Having played wildly for two months, 006’s mainboard was now running with great difficulty. Its mind was blank for a moment, and it could only stare foolishly at Fei Zhiyan.
Fortunately, Fei Zhiyan also knew that this system was quite stupid and didn’t beat around the bush. He sat in his chair and asked with a dark look in his eyes, “Your mission is to make Nuonuo a villain?”
As he said this, Fei Zhiyan’s face was as cold as a night covered by layers of dark clouds, oppressive and terrifying, which scared 006 into a howl.
But when it came to the mission, this was a top secret. 006 couldn’t possibly say it and could only shake its head desperately.
Fei Zhiyan took a deep breath, but in the end, he still couldn’t hold it in and gave the system a cold glare.
He and Fei Han had had the same guess before, thinking that this system was bound to Nuonuo to stop their future plans as villains.
In fact, when he knew of this possibility, Fei Zhiyan had been on the verge of giving up his own plan.
In the past two months, all of Fei Zhiyan’s development plans for Yunzhou and Huazhou had been changed from aggressive to conservative.
This change had also made those transmigrators who were still opposing Fei Zhiyan confused. For a time, they had revealed many of their true colors and were almost wiped out by Fei Zhiyan.
But even so, more than half of that team of dozens of transmigrators were still caught by Fei Zhiyan and directly handed over to the highest council court under the charge of “invasion.”
At the end of the day, they were just humans with special abilities. In front of heavy weapons, they were still as scared as quails. Without even having to do anything, they had revealed all their purposes.
It was only when he heard that the most serious consequence of a failed mission was death that Fei Zhiyan, thinking of Nuonuo, who also had a system, began to consider whether to give up all his deployments.
Although Fei Zhiyan himself had dirty methods and a cold heart, he hoped that Nuonuo could live a happy life, and that his future would also be filled with sunshine.
So he would absolutely not let Nuonuo end up like these transmigrators.
After a while, when Fei Han’s energy-capturing device was developed, the final end for those transmigrators would be nothing more than becoming a stone.
But once the mission failed, there was a great possibility that Nuonuo’s energy would also be depleted, and he would disappear from this world…
A lump of anger was stuck in Fei Zhiyan’s chest. Looking at the little dog in front of him, he couldn’t even maintain his calm expression and almost directly killed it.
“If I kill you, will you and Nuonuo be unbound?”
Fei Zhiyan’s icy words made 006 shiver and shake its head repeatedly.
“No! We… we’re on the same side, after all. Big boss, you must calm down!”
At this moment, 006 couldn’t even figure it out. I’m a villain system, and I’m being killed by the great villain. Isn’t this way of dying a bit too ridiculous?
At the very least, I should die at the hands of the protagonist to be worthy of my lifelong reputation!
Amidst 006’s wails, Fei Zhiyan rubbed his aching forehead and squeezed out two words from between his teeth. “Shut up.”
006 closed its mouth with a wronged look, shrank its little head, and secretly peeked at Fei Zhiyan from the corner of the wall.
Fei Zhiyan took off his glasses with a bit of annoyance, closed his eyes, and thought about the current situation.
But he thought of something, suddenly opened his eyes, and asked, “Since you’re from the same place, why are your missions different?”
The missions of those transmigrators were easy to understand. From beginning to end, they stood on the side of justice. Although their methods were a bit shameful, they still followed the proper routine.
But this little system, how did it end up in the villain camp?
Hearing Fei Zhiyan say this, 006 let out a little “ai,” tilted its head, and really started to think about this question.
But it was destined not to figure anything out. It continued to look at Fei Zhiyan with its dark, beady eyes and said, “I’m just a villain system. Of course, I’m in the villain camp.”
Hearing 006 say this, Fei Zhiyan still tapped the desk, shook his head lightly, and said coldly, “That’s not right. Although you’re stupid, your main system won’t be so stupid as to contradict itself. One of your two systems must have the wrong mission.”
Fei Zhiyan himself was in a high position. Without much thought, he could think from the perspective of the main system.
And managing so many systems, and even dividing them into various departments, some mistakes were inevitable. But no matter what, it couldn’t be so ridiculous.
Let one side save the world, and the other destroy it?
This was a confrontational situation from the source. No matter how Fei Zhiyan thought about it, he felt it was impossible.
Hearing this, 006 felt its still-smoothly-running core stagnate for a moment. It seemed to be trying to grasp something, but nothing came to mind. 006 stood there in a daze, not coming back to its senses for a long time.
Fei Zhiyan just watched 006 in a daze, his eyes slightly narrowed. He looked up at the sky, which was almost dark outside, and then slowly said, “Forget it. You can go now.”
This system was so stupid that Fei Zhiyan didn’t even want to waste his energy. He just waved his hand and let him out.
And so, 006 walked out in a daze and obediently. It wasn’t until he reached the living room that he suddenly came back to his senses.
Blinking his eyes, 006 thought to himself, This villain’s ability to fool people is too strong. I was almost led into a ditch by him! I’m a villain system. I just have to do my job well. The main system must have its own considerations. Why should I think so much!
And so, shaking its little head, 006 happily went to find Nuonuo to play.
And Nuonuo, at this moment, was lying on the sofa with his little feet up, rolled over twice, and then happily propped his little face in his hands, using his phone watch to call his second brother.
This watch was a school-opening gift from Fei Jing to Nuonuo. Although its functions were relatively simple, only able to see the time and make calls, its operation was simple. You just had to tap the little icon to make a call.
And so, Fei Jing, who was getting his makeup done backstage, heard his phone’s special ringtone, opened his eyes, said a few words of thanks to the staff, and then quickly took his phone and left.
The several makeup artists’ hands, which were holding their tools, were still in mid-air. They couldn’t help but look at each other. Fei Jing went to the small room next to the dressing room, answered Nuonuo’s call, and Nuonuo’s magnified face popped up on the video.
“Brother, brother! Do you see me?!”
Fei Jing looked at Nuonuo’s little nose, which was pressed against the screen, and his eyes curved in an amused smile as he said softly, “I see you. You move back. You’re too close.”
Only then did Nuonuo hum in agreement and move his face, which was pressed against the screen, away. Seeing his brother’s face appear on the screen, he let out a “wow.” “Brother is so handsome, ya!”
Fei Jing was wearing heavy makeup today. He had a stage performance later, so it was different from his usual makeup. His black eyeliner was slightly winged, and with his smoky gray eyeshadow, it made him look even more sharp and flamboyant.
Fei Jing was already beautiful and exquisite. With this makeup on today, he was so handsome that Nuonuo couldn’t take his eyes off him.
“I… why don’t my eyes have sparkling pieces, ya?”
Nuonuo leaned closer to look at his brother. Seeing the glitter on Fei Jing’s eyes, he tilted his head in confusion and asked.
“You’re still young. You can’t use it. Why did you think of calling me?”
Fei Jing was very pleased with the little one’s praise. He squinted his eyes slightly, like a cat that had been stroked, his temper so good that he even retracted his claws.
Only then did Nuonuo think of something. He quickly held up the sticker on his hand. “Brother, I went to kindewgawten. I have two wittle red fwowers!”
Hearing this, Fei Jing couldn’t help but smile. He nodded and said, “I knew it. Alright, very good, very good. Brother is about to go on stage. You have to work hard in the future too.”
With that, Fei Jing heard his manager rushing him again and quickly hung up the phone.
