Chapter 88: Zhuang Jie
On the kindergarten lawn, the sun laid a golden blanket on the ground.
The crisp laughter of children echoed, accompanied by the whooshing sound of the slide, filling the whole park with life and vitality.
In front of a clump of grass, a swing set was set up. Many little friends were lining up, waiting to play, while the little friend who had occupied the swing earlier was sitting on it, laughing happily.
And behind the clump of grass, Nuonuo was being held by the hand by Zhuang Jie, pouting with a bit of unhappiness. “Who… who are you? I want to go back and eat my little cookies!”
Looking at the somewhat remote place, Nuonuo belatedly shrank his little neck and wanted to pull his hand out.
Zhuang Jie, on the other hand, looked left and right, and after confirming that there was no one around, he let out a slight breath and let go of Nuonuo’s hand.
Turning around, Zhuang Jie’s gaze finally fell on the little one in front of him.
His dark eyes were like two black obsidian stones embedded in them, with a lingering ferocity in them. When he looked at people, his eyelids would always unconsciously press down slightly, revealing a hint of gloom.
But when looking at Nuonuo, Zhuang Jie deliberately restrained his gaze, trying to make his eyes look gentler.
Although from the look on Nuonuo’s pouting little face, his method was not very effective.
Wringing his little hands uneasily, Nuonuo pursed his lips and, rubbing the tips of his feet, said, “I’m going to find Teacher Xiao Ran.”
Zhuang Jie’s gaze seemed to be glued to Nuonuo’s body. He stared at his face for a long time before he was brought back to his senses by Nuonuo’s little milky voice.
His eyes narrowed with a complicated feeling. Zhuang Jie took out a piece of cake from his pocket. “You eat this. If anyone snatches your things again in the future, remember to come find me.”
Hearing Zhuang Jie’s words, Nuonuo’s little face was still dazed. He tilted his head and said, “But I don’t know you, ya. And… and no one is snatching my things.”
Hearing Nuonuo’s words, Zhuang Jie’s eyes darkened for a moment. He stuffed the cake into Nuonuo’s arms without any room for argument. “You eat it yourself. I saw it very clearly. Don’t just stand there foolishly and let people bully you.”
Zhuang Jie looked at Nuonuo’s simple and silly eyes, and his thick black eyebrows couldn’t help but furrow slightly.
Why does he feel that the more he looks at this little one, the more dazed he seems?
Milky and naive. In fact, Zhuang Jie was standing so close that he could vaguely smell the sweet fragrance coming from Nuonuo.
His eyes are also not right. Where is the ferocity in them?
Zhuang Jie couldn’t help but want to lean forward and see if Nuonuo had hidden that ruthlessness.
Looking at the little one’s chubby round face and his clear, bottomless eyes, Zhuang Jie felt a strange feeling in his heart.
Looking at him, only that face was familiar.
Zhuang Jie was puzzled. He kicked a small stone next to him with a bit of annoyance and let out a long breath. “Fei Nuo, in short, you remember, if you have any problems, come find me. My name is… Zhuang Jie, in Middle Class Three upstairs.”
Very few people called him by his full name. Nuonuo blinked his eyes in confusion for a while before he reacted and was about to hand the cake to Zhuang Jie. “No, ya. I don’t know you. I’m going back!”
Zhuang Jie furrowed his brow and pushed Nuonuo’s hand back. “You eat it yourself…”
As the two of them pushed and pulled, Zhuang Jie’s strength was a little too great, and he almost pushed Nuonuo to the ground.
“Hey! I was wondering where I couldn’t find Nuonuo! So it’s you who’s bullying him!”
Lei Xiaoyan ran over, panting. Seeing Nuonuo being bullied by a big kid, his anger instantly flared up. “Don’t bully Nuonuo, ahhh!”
Lei Xiaoyan shouted and continued to run over, the flesh on his face trembling. His little hands were flailing in the air as he charged head-on towards Zhuang Jie.
Zhuang Jie had already turned his head when Lei Xiaoyan had spoken.
The moment he saw Lei Xiaoyan’s face, Zhuang Jie was slightly taken aback, but he quickly reacted, his eyes dark, his eyelids drooping, and his whole body exuding a ruthless aura.
Zhuang Jie’s hand had just been raised, and it looked as if the two were about to fight, but Lei Xiaoyan’s foot twisted, and he was tripped by a small stone. With a plop, he knelt in front of Zhuang Jie.
Zhuang Jie: “…”
“Aiyo, my foot hurts so much! Wuuu—”
Lei Xiaoyan, with his large size, fell to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust. Tears also streamed down his face, and with a wipe of his hand, he completely smeared his face into a dirty mess.
Zhuang Jie looked at Lei Xiaoyan’s face and, with a bit of disdain, moved two steps to the side.
To have such a person as an opponent, he himself felt it was beneath him.
Nuonuo, on the other hand, was so scared his little hands trembled. He quickly ran over, patted Lei Xiaoyan’s head, and comforted him. “Xiaoyan, don’t cry. I… I…” Nuonuo saw the cake in his hand, his little eyes lit up, and he turned his head and stuffed the cake into Lei Xiaoyan’s mouth.
And Lei Xiaoyan, tasting the sweet taste in his mouth, blinked a couple of times, chewed mechanically in a daze, and then, the more he chewed, the more fragrant it became, and his eyes also became brighter. “So yummy—”
With tears and snot still on his face, Lei Xiaoyan simply sat on the ground and happily ate the cake.
This cake was made with milk, soft and delicious, fragrant and sweet. Lei Xiaoyan loved it so much he swallowed more than half of it in one bite.
And Zhuang Jie, who was watching all this on the side, his brow was almost twisted into a knot. “Fei Nuo, you’re not allowed to give things to Lei Xiaoyan to eat in the future!”
Zhuang Jie’s face was stern. He unconsciously imitated Nuonuo’s posture of putting his hands on his hips and stared at him with wide eyes.
And Nuonuo turned his head, also feeling a little bad. He whimpered a couple of times and then opened his little mouth. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have given your things to Xiaoyan to eat. But… I can give you little cookies to eat. They’re also very delicious!”
Zhuang Jie directly shook his head in refusal. “I don’t like to eat little cookies… No, wait, this isn’t about eating little cookies or not!”
Zhuang Jie, who had almost been led astray by Nuonuo, his chest heaved a couple of times before he let out a breath and continued, “You can eat my things if you want, but you have to eat them yourself! Don’t share them with others!”
Nuonuo’s little head turned for a little while before he understood and asked in confusion, “But good children can’t just eat other people’s things.”
Zhuang Jie almost couldn’t hold it back and directly shouted, “I’m not other people!”
Realizing that his tone was a little too loud for a child, Zhuang Jie quickly added, “In short, don’t get too close to Lei Xiaoyan. He’s not…”
He wanted to say that the other was not a good person, but Zhuang Jie then thought of himself and found that he himself was even less like a good person.
After a moment of awkward silence, Zhuang Jie said, “Forget it. It’s almost time for class. I have to go first.”
The middle class curriculum was obviously more compact than the small class. Zhuang Jie didn’t have much time. He could only glare at Lei Xiaoyan before leaving and then quickly ran off.
And Lei Xiaoyan, receiving Zhuang Jie’s gaze, felt that the milk cake in his mouth was no longer fragrant. He instantly raised his little brow in anger. “He glared at me! He actually glared at me! Nuonuo, don’t stop me. This time, I’m going to beat him until his teeth are all over the floor!”
Lei Xiaoyan, who couldn’t use idioms correctly, even stood up and put his hands on his hips with a sense of pride.
Nuonuo, on the other hand, said in confusion, “I’m not stopping you. But… why would his teeth be all over the floor?”
Lei Xiaoyan let out a light “hmph.” After showing off, he finished the milk cake in one bite and answered, “That’s an idiom. It describes how amazing I am!”
Nuonuo, who didn’t even know what an idiom was, let out a “wow” and said with envy, “Xiaoyan, you know idioms! That’s so amazing!”
Only then did Lei Xiaoyan wave his hand. “It’s just so-so. By the way, Gu Ze is also looking for you. Let’s hurry back and find him!”
After snack time was free activity time. The small class students all ran to fight for the swings. After Gu Ze and Lei Xiaoyan found that Nuonuo was missing, they thought he was lost and quickly split up to look for him.
“Gu Ze said he saw a shadow over there and ran over there to find you.”
Lei Xiaoyan, on the other hand, went in the opposite direction, but he never expected to run into Nuonuo.
Halfway there, Lei Xiaoyan was attracted by the slide, and his little feet were as if they were glued, unable to move away. “I’ll just play for a while. It’ll be quick!”
And so, Nuonuo waited for him to play for a while, but one “while” turned into another, and in the end, Nuonuo’s little legs were so sore that he simply went to find Gu Ze by himself.
