Chapter 102: Abandonment
Fei Han picked up Nuonuo and couldn’t help but poke his pink little cheek a couple of times.
It was smooth and soft, like the pudding the chef had made yesterday. A poke would make it tremble slightly.
The warm touch of his fingertips traveled all the way to his heart, making Fei Han purse his lips. In the end, he still couldn’t say anything to refuse.
Unbeknownst to him, the little one’s status in Fei Han’s heart had been rising all the way. Now, thinking back, he actually felt that it was okay if the laboratory was destroyed. Compared to Nuonuo’s happiness, it didn’t seem so important.
After all, Lin Mian and Nuonuo had a good rapport. If he found another piano teacher, it was not certain that they would get along well with Nuonuo.
Various thoughts went through his mind. It was only when Nuonuo was clingily rubbing against his neck that Fei Han looked at Lin Mian with cold eyes and said, “Go and change your clothes. We’ll have a trial lesson later.”
As he said this, Lin Mian finally let out all his strength, his legs weak and sweaty as he leaned against the wall, letting out a long breath.
Thank goodness, my little life is finally saved!
Nuonuo only thought that he would soon be sitting on a high stage, playing the piano with his little hands, so he quickly put on a straight little face, his expression unconsciously becoming serious.
Being carried by his brother and placed in the baby chair, Nuonuo’s little neck was still held high, his lips pursed as if he were already a little pianist.
Fei Jing walked over and poked the little pianist’s beautiful dream. “Want some buns?”
Nuonuo whipped his little head around and nodded quickly. “I’ll eat, ya!”
The little yellow duck on his chest swayed greatly with Nuonuo’s movement, and his soft, fluffy little yellow hair stood up.
The future little pianist was now holding a bun, diligently and seriously gnawing on it with his little baby teeth.
The autumn night was a little cool. The wandering clouds covered half of the bright moon, and the stars in the sky were hidden behind the clouds.
After dinner, Fei Zhiyan received a phone call and then stood up with a frown, preparing to change his clothes and go out.
If it weren’t for the fact that he had promised to come home and have dinner with Nuonuo today, Fei Zhiyan would probably still be working overtime in his office right now.
Seeing his papa get up, Nuonuo also struggled to get down from his chair with a “heave-ho.”
Afraid that he would fall from the chair, Fei Zhiyan reached out and picked Nuonuo up, pinching his little nose and asking, “What are you in such a hurry for?”
Nuonuo wrapped his arms around his papa’s neck, rested his little face on his papa’s shoulder, and pouted. “Where is Papa going? Aren’t you going to watch me play the piano?”
Fei Zhiyan gently and lovingly stroked the little one’s head, his eyes under his glasses also showing an unconcealable apology. “Probably not. Papa has to deal with something very important.”
This time, the transmigrators had caused too much trouble. After all, the explosion at the laboratory couldn’t be hidden, and many media reporters had already gotten some gossip and published all sorts of sensational headlines.
The speculation was even more ridiculous than the truth that there were transmigrators in this world.
As the president of a continent, Fei Zhiyan couldn’t just ignore these things and could only work overtime to deal with them.
Hearing this, Nuonuo lowered his head a little dejectedly, his little feet even swaying listlessly a couple of times. “Papa hasn’t slept with me in a long time.”
Every time Nuonuo wanted to hug his little blanket and go to sleep with his papa, he would always wait in vain. In the end, he would be carried back to his own bedroom by Auntie Wu.
Before Fei Zhiyan came home today, Nuonuo had almost not been close to his papa for half a month.
Fei Zhiyan looked at Nuonuo’s dejected little expression, and a sour and numb feeling surged in his heart.
Before, Fei Zhiyan had unscrupulously wanted to stand at the top for his own selfish desire to destroy everything. But now that he had scruples, this identity had instead become a shackle that burdened him.
When he was considering whether to continue to destroy this world on his own, the desire to expand his territory was almost gone.
Sometimes he even felt that this game was so boring, not as happy as going back to watch Nuonuo build blocks for him.
Sighing lightly, Fei Zhiyan pinched the flesh of Nuonuo’s cheek and said comfortingly, “Nuonuo, be good and learn the piano. When you can play, Papa will come and watch your performance, okay?”
Hearing this, Nuonuo lifted his little head again, his eyes wide and round as he said, “Really?”
Fei Zhiyan nodded. “Of course. Nuonuo will be sitting in front of the piano on the stage, and Papa will be watching you from below, clapping for you.”
By then, the various matters of the transmigrators should be over, and I will have a lot of time to witness Nuonuo’s growth.
Hearing this, Nuonuo’s little eyes unconsciously lit up, and he showed a big smile. “Okay!”
Fei Zhiyan let out a light laugh, his lips curling up as he put Nuonuo back on the chair and took his suit jacket and went out.
The night had completely darkened. Thin clouds slowly drifted over the moon, hiding the moonlight behind them.
The cool breeze blew on people’s skin, making them unconsciously rub their arms and shrink their bodies as they walked past quickly.
In the white room made of special materials, a dozen people were lying on the ground, their eyelids twitching slightly before they struggled to open their eyes.
The effect of the drug gradually dissipated, and they woke up one after another. Seeing the man still lying on the ground, they quickly went over and pushed him.
“Brother Shi, wake up!”
“Where is this?! I remember now, we were caught by Fei Zhiyan!”
“What should we do! He won’t kill us, will he!”
Amidst the chattering noise, the leader, Stone, slowly woke up.
But the moment he opened his eyes, he was scared by the group of people surrounding him. “Holy shit! Who are you guys! What are you doing in my house!”
Stone, with a dazed face, looked at the people in front of him, and a bad thought instantly came to his mind. “Are you guys after money? I have money. As long as you let me go, I’ll go and get it right away!”
If it were just one or two people, Stone, being tall and strong, could have knocked them down in two or three moves. But now, with a dozen people surrounding him, even if he were stronger, he had to lower his head first and see if he could find a way to escape.
And hearing Stone say this, and seeing the panicked look on his face, which really didn’t seem fake, the others looked at each other, all of them stunned.
“This… Brother Shi?”
“No way, Brother Shi ran away?!”
The day before the transmigrators came to this world, besides Lin Mian, who had missed it because he was eating, almost all the other eighteen people had believed Stone’s words and had secretly used the spirit transmission system to come to this world.
An old player like “Grandpa Gu” had kept a trick up his sleeve, thinking he had a chance to complete the mission and go back, so he hadn’t dared to occupy a “living person’s” body but had chosen a dead person.
Although in the end he still couldn’t escape the fate of completely dissipating, he at least had a brain and didn’t completely believe this person named Stone, and still had his own little tricks.
The others more or less also had their own ideas, but in the face of huge energy, they couldn’t hold on to their original intentions.
And so, on the surface, these transmigrators were fragmented, seemingly divided into seven or eight different teams. Some were on the path of strategizing against the villain, some were fighting head-on, and some were even secretly waiting for the apocalypse to come and directly become saviors.
But everyone still had a system group and maintained a subtle connection with each other.
During the mission to blow up the laboratory, the reason so many people had come was purely because Fei Zhiyan’s search, which was like looking for a needle in a haystack, had made the others who were hiding in the dark have no way out, so they had chosen to join in.
Otherwise, how could Fei Zhiyan have been as busy as a spinning top these past one or two months? Even without this mission, he had already found out all the remaining people and was just one step away from arresting them.
Among them, Yingying, who had more experience, was trembling, her chest heaving as she said, “We were all tricked by Stone! He wouldn’t care about our life or death at all!”
Before the mission, Stone had acted like a big brother, patting his chest and guaranteeing that nothing would happen. Even if the mission failed, they still had Lin Mian in front of them. They were hidden and could run away if something happened.
But how good could a person who could easily trick a newcomer into their death be?
Sure enough, the moment something happened, they were also instantly abandoned.
Hearing Yingying say this, the others couldn’t help but feel indignant, and even a sense of impending doom.
“Fuck! I knew he was no good! He looks like a monkey with a sharp mouth!”
“Ahhh, we’re not going to be locked up for life, are we?”
“I think it’s possible. This room has a transparent shell. We can’t penetrate it with our consciousness.”
And Stone, on the side, who had been mistakenly brought in, had a dazed face. Looking at these dozen or so people who were raging with anger, he thought to himself, Could this be a group of mental patients?
Could it be that he was actually locked in a mental hospital?
Just as the scene was about to get out of control, Fei Zhiyan walked in, dressed in a suit. He tapped the watch on his hand and said lightly, “You don’t have much time left.”
Hearing this cold tone, the transmigrators all looked up. They were so oppressed by Fei Zhiyan’s cold aura that they could barely breathe, and they opened their mouths but didn’t know what to say.
“We won’t die…”
Thinking of something, one of the girls said in a small voice.
They were all consciousness bodies. Even if their bodies died, they could still use energy to protect their consciousness and find the next body.
But Yingying, who was sitting among them, suddenly thought of her good friend Dan Ran’s crazed appearance in the hospital.
After Dan Ran woke up that night, she could no longer feel her good friend’s consciousness fluctuations in her body.
It was as if… the other’s consciousness had really dissipated in this world.
At this thought, Yingying couldn’t help but shiver and hugged her legs in fear.
The transmigrators sat there in a daze, and Stone, seeing Fei Zhiyan, was like seeing a savior. He quickly pounced on him and said, “Brother, you’ve got the wrong person! I’m not mentally ill, and I’m not with them!”
Fei Zhiyan looked at the righteous look in Stone’s eyes, pondered for a moment, and then had someone take him out.
When he had caught these dozen or so people, Fei Zhiyan had felt that this leader no longer had two mixed consciousnesses in him. It was just that it was too chaotic at the time, and Fei Zhiyan didn’t have the mood to deal with him.
That real transmigrator had probably taken advantage of the chaos at that time and had long since escaped.
Fei Zhiyan dealt with Stone’s matter and, after instructing someone to observe him for a while, turned his head and looked at the other transmigrators’ various panicked and angry expressions, and couldn’t help but push up his glasses with a sarcastic look.
Although he had caught these people, Fei Zhiyan thought of Nuonuo’s system, and that transmigrator who had run away but seemed to have something to rely on.
Narrowing his eyes slightly, Fei Zhiyan suddenly thought of a possibility.
