Chapter 105: Self-Reflection
The weather was getting colder, and a thin layer of mist had formed in the humid air of Yuncheng at night.
The cool, misty water, like silk, wound around in the air. With a blow of the cool wind, it was almost completely dispersed.
The night was as cool as water, and the bright moon was hidden behind the floating clouds, its brilliance covered a little.
Fei Jing had just flown back from another city. Because there were fans picking him up at the airport, he hadn’t even removed his makeup and was still wearing his stage clothes.
He had debuted as a singer, and his voice was naturally clear and magnetic. Coupled with the charm that his heavy stage makeup added, it was almost impossible to look away the moment he appeared.
Thinking that Nuonuo had really liked his sparkling eye makeup on the phone last time, Fei Jing had come home with his makeup on, wanting to give the little one a little surprise.
But as he walked into the living room, his front foot had just landed when his back foot felt the different atmosphere in the living room.
It was heavy, like the weather outside, with a bit of dampness and stuffiness, which made one’s heart panic.
Fei Jing was most sensitive to people’s emotions. Almost instantly, he stopped his steps.
“So late to come back?”
Fei Zhiyan’s tone was as cold as the frost on a winter branch. One cold glance from him could directly freeze a person’s heart.
Fei Jing couldn’t help but let out a light hiss. His gaze swept over the two little ones who were writing furiously at the small table in the living room, so well-behaved they didn’t even dare to look up. He roughly guessed that Nuonuo had made his father angry again.
“I’ll go up first…”
Fei Jing looked at Fei Zhiyan’s face, which was as dark as the bottom of a pot, and tried to escape the scene.
Unfortunately, in the next second, Fei Zhiyan let out a cold snort.
“Go and wash your face before you come in! What kind of look is that!”
It wasn’t that Fei Jing hadn’t worn makeup at home before. As an artist, this was an indispensable course.
But this was the first time he had been scolded by his father.
Hearing his papa’s words, Nuonuo’s little hand, which was holding a pen, stopped. He quietly lifted his little head, and with his little hands, he covered his little face to look at his second brother.
But before he could see the person, his little eyes met his papa’s.
Nuonuo, covering his ears like an ostrich, covered his little eyes and pretended he had done nothing, slowly lowering his head again.
Fei Zhiyan looked at the little one’s silly appearance, pressed the acupoint between his brows, and said to Fei Jing, “What are you standing there for? Go and wash your face!”
Fei Jing hummed in agreement and quickly nodded, running out to remove his makeup at a flying speed.
This is clearly just finding an excuse to vent! Fei Jing thought.
With Fei Zhiyan’s current angry look, even a passing dog would probably get a couple of scoldings!
Hearing his second brother’s footsteps gradually fade, Nuonuo’s little ears twitched, but he didn’t dare to look up again and could only lie on the small table and seriously write his self-reflection.
Fei Luo had already written one twice and was very skilled at writing the beginning, process, and end. In a short while, he handed it to Fei Zhiyan.
Fei Zhiyan looked at Fei Luo’s lowered head and, seeing that he had indeed recognized his mistake, he didn’t make things difficult for him anymore and just nodded as he took the self-reflection. “It’s written quite well. Fei Luo, you’re already eight. You can’t be so reckless in the future.”
Fei Luo also nodded with some lingering fear. Now that he had recovered, thinking of the explosion just now, his little heart couldn’t help but shrink.
It was one thing if it were just him, but his little brother was right next to him. What if he hadn’t operated it properly and had harmed Nuonuo…
At this thought, Fei Luo was so annoyed that even the little curls on his head drooped.
If only he could grow up faster, then he would have the ability to protect his little brother!
Fei Luo couldn’t help but think.
“Go up. You still have class tomorrow.”
Fei Zhiyan pushed up his glasses lightly and said.
Fei Luo had no choice but to look at Nuonuo, nod his little head, and go upstairs.
And after his brother went up, Nuonuo, who was left alone to write his self-reflection, scratched his little ears, stuck his little bottom out, and lay on the table, writing with great effort.
“If you don’t know how to write a word, just draw a circle.” Thinking of what his papa had said, Nuonuo held his pen and seriously drew another circle.
When he had finally filled a whole page, Nuonuo let out a breath, shook his sore little hands, and held his self-reflection up to his papa. “Papa, I’m done!”
Nuonuo ran over, stood on his tiptoes by his papa’s leg, and said obediently with his little head tilted up.
Fei Zhiyan also put his documents aside, pinched the light piece of paper with his slender fingers, and took a look—
“Uh…” Fei Zhiyan: “…”
At a glance, it was all circles.
He’s been in kindergarten for two months. Could it be that he still hasn’t learned a single word?
Fei Zhiyan thought, propping his forehead on his hand.
Nuonuo, on the other hand, wrung his little fingers, rubbed his little feet uneasily, and looked at his papa with pleading eyes. “Papa, have you finished reading?”
Hearing the little one’s milky voice, Fei Zhiyan put the self-reflection, which was full of circles, on the table with a slight headache and massaged his temples.
“Do you know what you’re writing?” Fei Zhiyan asked.
Nuonuo nodded his head and, with his little hands, pointed at the first three and read, “Self-reflection…”
Fei Zhiyan lifted his eyelids and was silent for a moment. “Continue.”
But Nuonuo was stunned. Looking at the circles behind, he couldn’t remember what he had written at all. “Um… I don’t know anymore.”
Nuonuo pursed his little lips and shook his little head very honestly.
Fei Zhiyan looked at Nuonuo’s silly, dazed look, and his furrowed brows couldn’t help but relax. The corners of his lips even lifted slightly, showing a hint of a helpless smile.
“Forget it. Just remember that you can’t do dangerous things by yourself in the future, you know?”
Fei Zhiyan put away this self-reflection, which even the author couldn’t recognize, picked up Nuonuo, and tapped his nose.
Nuonuo nodded his head very seriously and promised, “I won’t do it again!”
Sighing lightly, Fei Zhiyan glanced at the kitchen, which was finally no longer emitting black smoke, and sent Nuonuo upstairs to sleep.
Having played all day, Nuonuo was also tired. After rubbing his face against his papa’s, he yawned and fell asleep.
Fei Zhiyan’s gaze also completely softened in Nuonuo’s affection. Looking at Nuonuo’s well-behaved and cute sleeping face, the anger in his heart had long since dissipated.
It couldn’t be helped. Who made Nuonuo such a cute, silly little cub? He couldn’t bear to scold him, and he couldn’t bring himself to hit him.
But he also enjoyed it.
And Fei Jing, who had come in after removing his makeup, saw the two self-reflections on the table and, with one glance, knew that the one with the circles was written by Nuonuo.
The little one’s grip on the pen was very heavy, and his strokes were also one by one. Even when drawing circles, he used three times more force than Fei Luo.
Fei Jing could imagine Nuonuo holding the small pen, trying hard to think of what to write, and then, realizing he didn’t know how, he could only foolishly draw a circle.
His lips curling up, Fei Jing directly took out his phone and, with a click, took another photo of Nuonuo’s black history.
When Nuonuo’s coming-of-age ceremony came, he could play it as a gift for him.
At the thought of Nuonuo’s socially dead appearance at that time, Fei Jing couldn’t help but laugh out loud unkindly.
The morning fog was a little thicker than last night, but the wind was strong today. In the time it took Nuonuo to get out of bed, the fog outside the window had completely dispersed.
Hurriedly putting on his school uniform, Nuonuo’s little yellow hat was even worn crookedly on his head as he went downstairs in a panic.
“Papa?”
When Nuonuo got downstairs and found that there was no one in the living room, he turned his little head to look for his papa and brothers.
Walking to the table in the living room, Nuonuo let out a little “huh?” and stopped his steps, tilting his head to look at the strange plate on the table.
The transparent little box was only the size of a palm. The moment Nuonuo touched it, it opened with a thud, revealing the golden eyeshadow inside.
This was a gift box from a brand that Fei Jing had brought back yesterday. He was in a hurry to go out today and had just temporarily left it on the table.
Nuonuo thought of what his brother had said yesterday about giving him a little surprise. He let out a small “wow” and picked up the box to look.
It was golden and sparkling, which was very attractive to a child.
Thinking this was a gift from his brother, Nuonuo happily put it in his little backpack and went to school.
In the class, Nuonuo put his little backpack in his locker and took out the eyeshadow box from inside.
Just as he was about to go and ask the all-knowing Teacher Xiao Ran what it was, Nuonuo was surrounded by a few girls in the class.
“Nuonuo, what’s in your hand?”
“It’s sparkling! So pretty!”
“I know, it’s eyeshadow. My mom has several! But she doesn’t let me touch them!”
The girls in the class were all very fond of beauty. Today they would change into a little dress, and tomorrow they would wear a new hairpin. At this moment, seeing the eyeshadow in Nuonuo’s hand, their eyes naturally lit up.
Hearing their words, Nuonuo let out a little “ah” and said, “This is a gift from my brother!”
The girls all let out a “wow” in envy. “Your brother is so good, Nuonuo!”
“I only have an older sister, but my sister has never given me a gift.”
Hearing their words, Nuonuo puffed out his little chest and said with sparkling eyes, “That’s right. My brother is super, super good!”
The girls all gathered around Nuonuo and began a heated discussion with eyeshadow as the theme.
In the end, it was Bai Xin who couldn’t resist the temptation and looked up. “How about we try it?”
The other girls nodded excitedly. “Okay, okay!”
Bai Xin even turned around, took Nuonuo’s hand, and said, “Nuonuo, you try it too. Your brother Fei… he also wears makeup! And it’s so pretty!”
She had originally wanted to say “Fei Jing,” but she had her own little selfish thoughts and didn’t want the other students to know that Prince Fei Jing was Nuonuo’s brother, so she quickly changed her words.
Nuonuo’s mind flashed with the sparkling light on his brother’s eyes when they had talked on the phone last time. It was so pretty that Nuonuo was dazed, and he foolishly agreed.
And so, the few of them held hands and went to another corner of the classroom, whispering. Some girls even took out the lipstick they had secretly hidden, wanting to become beautiful.
By the time Gu Ze and Lei Xiaoyan arrived in the classroom and were about to call Nuonuo to go out and play on the slide, they saw Nuonuo being pushed out by the girls.
“Ah, a monster!”
Lei Xiaoyan shouted, so scared he even dropped his little backpack.
