This really wasn’t a good time for a conversation.
Huo Boyan’s hand still gripped Zhu Ran’s waist, while Godzilla pressed aggressively against Zhu Ran’s body. The usually gentlemanly and refined Huo Boyan had revealed his most undignified side at that moment.
Desire and instinct had taken over, making it hard for him to calmly weigh the pros and cons.
Huo Boyan was forced to tilt his head back, but his body’s reaction hadn’t fully subsided. His eyes stared intently at Zhu Ran, a hint of guilt flashing across his face as he said in a pleading tone, “Can we talk about this another time?”
Zhu Ran froze for a moment, then rage ignited within him. He fiercely pinched Huo Boyan’s neck and said, “Huo Boyan, you bastard! You don’t trust me, and yet you still do something like this with me?!”
Bang—
At the same time, a loud crash came from outside the door. Chen Jiaming had been waiting anxiously, holding his breath. He knew his boss was always self-disciplined, prioritizing the big picture above all else with astonishing restraint. There was no way he’d get intimate with a suspicious person in the lounge. Finally losing patience, he burst through the door.
Sure enough, the scene inside was just as he’d feared. Huo Boyan was being choked by Zhu Ran. Despite having the clear advantage in size and strength, he showed no signs of resistance—likely drugged!
Chen Jiaming’s heart jolted. He immediately said, “Boss, I’m here to save you!”
Chen Jiaming’s arrival only made the already disastrous situation worse. Huo Boyan’s forehead twitched as he said coldly, “Get out.”
Chen Jiaming understood and immediately ordered the bodyguards, “Take Zhu Ran out!”
Huo Boyan: “You get out.”
Chen Jiaming: ?
Huo Boyan closed his eyes briefly, then patiently instructed, “Everyone out. Close the door behind you.”
Chen Jiaming was stunned, but he still couldn’t believe it.
What tricks hadn’t his boss seen? Over the years, countless honey traps had failed against him. Huo Boyan had firm goals and grand ambitions—he could never be someone who succumbed to base lust.
He suspected Huo Boyan was being threatened, forced to say those words. Chen Jiaming tapped out a string of Morse code: Are you being threatened?
Huo Boyan finally lost his patience and snapped, “Get out—”
Chen Jiaming understood everything then. With an embarrassed expression, he closed the door and apologized profusely several times.
The room fell quiet again, the earlier intimacy dissipating into thin air.
Huo Boyan seemed to realize he couldn’t avoid it anymore. He patted Zhu Ran’s lower back seriously and said, “Get off me first.”
Zhu Ran’s lower back was already sensitive, and with the lingering sensations from before, that pat made him go weak. He unexpectedly buckled at the waist, colliding with Huo Boyan’s Godzilla.
A numb sensation shot through Zhu Ran’s tailbone. He struggled to straighten up, flushed with shame and anger as he threatened, “Don’t try any tricks!”
Huo Boyan also seemed somewhat uncomfortable, his brows furrowing slightly as he restrained himself. “I don’t mind, but are you sure you want to discuss serious matters like this?”
Zhu Ran fell silent, shocked to discover that Huo Boyan’s Godzilla was still swelling further. Complex expressions crossed his face—”How could Huo Boyan do this?” and “How could Huo Boyan do this?!”—before he scrambled off Huo Boyan like he was fleeing for his life.
His waist and legs were weak, and there was still the embarrassing lingering touch from Huo Boyan’s fingers behind him. Zhu Ran nearly lost his balance; if Huo Boyan hadn’t steadied him, he probably would have collapsed to his knees.
This realization only worsened Zhu Ran’s mood. He sat coldly on a chair, then suddenly noticed a chill on his chest. Looking down, he was shocked to find that his shirt had been soaked by Huo Boyan’s licks at some point. The damp, cold fabric rubbed against his chest, bringing an undeniable icy tingle.
Zhu Ran crossed his arms over his chest to cover the embarrassment, tempted to rush over and beat Huo Boyan senseless.
Huo Boyan glanced at Zhu Ran and began removing his jacket.
Zhu Ran bristled instantly. “What are you doing?”
The next moment, Huo Boyan tossed the suit jacket onto Zhu Ran and said in a low, husky voice, “I don’t have other clothes prepared. Make do with this for now.”
Zhu Ran wanted to throw it back, but he really didn’t want to go out in such an embarrassing shirt. He accepted it reluctantly.
The jacket was oversized, carrying Huo Boyan’s scent and warmth—like a gentle embrace. Zhu Ran kept a blank expression but cursed Huo Boyan inwardly once more.
Huo Boyan sat on a chair, seemingly unsure how to begin. After a long silence, he said, “Zhu Ran, I don’t want to lie to you. I did suspect your motives at one point.”
At one point…
Huo Boyan was undoubtedly a master negotiator. Those words were so disarming and sincere that a softer-hearted person might have forgiven him on the spot.
Unfortunately, Zhu Ran wasn’t buying it. He said coldly, “Don’t tell me you don’t still suspect me.”
Huo Boyan was silent for a moment, then looked up at Zhu Ran. “I won’t deceive you. I still can’t be sure.”
“You’re not sure, and yet you still kissed me?” Zhu Ran laughed incredulously, pointing rudely at Huo Boyan’s impolite protrusion. “You’re not sure, and it still stood up to me without manners?”
“This time was just an accident,” Huo Boyan adjusted his sitting position, his tone calm and detached from his body’s reaction. “You might have some misunderstandings, but I’m truly not someone who indulges in vulgar desires.”
