After Secretly Having the Film Emperor’s Child 9

Chapter 9: Hospital

“Xixi…”
Yu Han sat on the sofa and hissed at Yu Weixi, who was playing with the cat, “When did you get together with Film Emperor Feng?!”
“Get together with your ass.” Yu Weixi put Nuomi back in the box and poked its little face.
Why does it look so listless, so sickly? Could it be because it’s scared of strangers?
Niangao rested his hands on the edge of the cardboard box, making funny faces to try and cheer Nuomi up, but Nuomi just shrank into a corner.
“But I saw that you two were acting very strange just now. You’re this happy even though you’re not together?”
“Happy in your dreams. I think you’ve lost your mind.” Yu Weixi couldn’t even be bothered to roll his eyes. He petted Nuomi. “Come take a look at Nuomi. Why does it look so lethargic?”
Nuomi’s body was warm, even a bit hot. It didn’t seem like it had caught a cold.
It had just been fed goat’s milk, so it wasn’t hungry either.
“Ah…” Yu Han looked for a moment. “You should take it to the vet for a check-up. Even if there’s nothing wrong, you should still get it checked, just in case it has fleas.”
Niangao said in his milky voice, “Yan-gege also said we should take it to the hospital! Daddy has to be obedient.”
Yu Han pinched Niangao’s cheek. “Whoa, you’ve been bought over by your Yan-gege so quickly?”
“It’s a good thing you’re here.” Yu Weixi said to Yu Han, “Help me watch Niangao tonight. I’m taking Nuomi to the hospital for a check-up.”
“Sorry…” Yu Han said apologetically, pointing to the thermos on the table. “I just came to bring you and Niangao some soup. I have to go to the airport after this.”
Yu Weixi frowned slightly.
This was a problem.
Of the other four group members, two were filming out of town, one had his days and nights reversed and was probably still sleeping, and Niangao wasn’t familiar or comfortable with the last one.
But Niangao’s identity was special. Yu Weixi didn’t want to take him to a public place like this. It was better to be safe than sorry. It wouldn’t be good if they were photographed together and became the subject of malicious speculation.
Yu Weixi knew exactly how many haters he had. He didn’t want Niangao to be hurt or have a single bad thing said about him.
Yu Han paused and asked, “How about letting Niangao stay at Film Emperor Feng’s place? It’s just next door.”
“…Are you crazy?”
“What else? You can’t possibly leave Niangao at home alone. Niangao isn’t familiar with your other friends, he’ll definitely throw a fit.”
Yu Weixi frowned slightly.
“You won’t be at the hospital for long.”
Yu Weixi let out a heavy sigh.
It seemed like he could only leave him with Feng Yan for now. It was rare that Niangao wasn’t afraid of him, even though they had only just met a few times.
“Niangao…” Yu Weixi went over and pinched Niangao’s cheek. “Daddy has to go out for a bit, I’ll be back soon. Can Niangao wait for me at Yan-gege’s house?”
Niangao paused, then grabbed Yu Weixi’s hand. “Daddy will come back for me!”
“I will, I’ll be back soon.” Yu Weixi smiled. “Niangao has to be good. I’m taking Nuomi to the hospital.”
Niangao nodded like a pecking chicken.

After feeding Niangao the nourishing soup, Yu Weixi carried the cat carrier in one hand and the child in the other and went to knock on Feng Yan’s door.
“What’s wrong?” Feng Yan had already changed into home clothes, wearing a loose white long-sleeved shirt, looking just like a retired old cadre.
Yu Weixi said, “Didn’t you say you could help anytime? Then help me watch the kid. I’m taking Nuomi to the hospital for a check-up.”
“Okay.” Feng Yan smiled and took Niangao.
Yu Weixi looked at Niangao, who was clinging to Feng Yan, and frowned slightly.
Although Yu Weixi would only be gone for a little while, he was still a bit worried.
After all, the person in question was Feng Yan.
“Don’t worry.” Feng Yan gently stroked Niangao’s hair and smiled. “I’ll take good care of him.”
“If you’re really worried, how about I take Nuomi to the hospital?”
Yu Weixi shook his head.
That was even more out of the question. He had his own plans.
Yu Weixi had already prepared for the worst. If Nuomi was really diagnosed with something… then he had to solve it, solve it quietly by himself.
“I’m leaving, Niangao.” Yu Weixi reached out and held Niangao’s soft hand. “Is that okay, Niangao?”
Yu Weixi still remembered the first time Niangao stayed at Yu Han’s place. He had cried his heart out, thinking his daddy didn’t want him anymore. Even when Yu Han tried to video call Yu Weixi, it didn’t work. It took many tries before Niangao slowly got used to Yu Han.
Niangao nodded. “I’ll wait for Daddy to come back. Daddy has to come back!”
“…Okay.”
Yu Weixi was helpless.
Niangao had forgotten to call him gege again.
“I’ll bring you back some cake.”

After Yu Weixi left, Niangao turned his head and stared blankly at Feng Yan.
Feng Yan carried Niangao into the apartment. Although Niangao liked Feng Yan, he was still a little shy around strangers. He stared with wide eyes at the unfamiliar surroundings.
Feng Yan’s home was very different from Yu Weixi’s. Yu Weixi’s home was filled with furniture gifted by his colleagues and group members. It was a bit messy and didn’t have a specific style, just whatever he felt like. The walls were also covered with Niangao’s drawings, scribbles, and photos.
It was a bit messy, but a home full of life.
Feng Yan’s was different. The gray and white color scheme and simple design created a sense of distance and seriousness. The house was spotlessly clean, as if even all the furniture had been precisely calculated and placed in the best position.
Feng Yan noticed Niangao’s tension and said softly, “Do you want to see the puppies? They’re very cute.”
“Puppies?” Niangao blinked.
“Facai! Dashun! Come out and welcome our little friend.”
At Feng Yan’s call, two gray and white huskies came running and jumping out of the room… crashing into things along the way.
They crashed into tables and chairs on their way out, even flipping over the carpet.
Feng Yan: “…”
There’s no need to be so enthusiastic.
Niangao was startled by the commotion. He grabbed Feng Yan’s sleeve and looked uncertainly at the two huskies circling around Feng Yan, wagging their tails and barking wildly.
“They like you.” Feng Yan squatted down, holding Niangao. Niangao saw one of them pounce forward and rub against his pant leg.
It was warm.
Niangao’s eyes lit up. He glanced at Feng Yan, and with his encouraging gaze, reached out and patted the husky’s head as it came closer.
The husky named Facai nuzzled Niangao’s palm. Niangao was overjoyed. He was no longer afraid and leaned forward to hug Facai and Dashun, playing with them.
Feng Yan quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

On the other side, Yu Weixi carried the carrier to the elevator, opening his map for navigation while pressing the elevator button.
Swoosh—
Yu Weixi suddenly turned his head and looked behind him, frowning slightly.
Just now, did he glimpse a black shadow ducking past in the corner?
Yu Weixi paused and took a few steps forward, trying to get a clearer look.
There was nothing in the corner.
Did I see it wrong…?
Yu Weixi blinked, thinking that he might be overthinking things. This was a high-security luxury apartment complex. You needed identification to enter and exit. Outsiders couldn’t sneak in.
Yu Weixi rubbed his temples.
Because of the system, he had become incredibly sleepy. It was already quite late, and now he was even starting to have hallucinations.
“Ding-dong!”
The elevator doors opened.
Yu Weixi put on his sunglasses and mask and stepped out.

While taking Nuomi to the vet for a check-up, Yu Weixi ran into an unexpected person.
“Xixi?”
Yu Weixi ran into Ji Shilin while registering at the counter. Ji Shilin was there to buy medicine for his hamster and was holding a large bag of things.
When Ji Shilin saw Yu Weixi, he couldn’t hide the happiness on his face.
“I didn’t expect to see you here. You left right after the All-Idol promotional shoot, so I didn’t get a chance to ask you out for a get-together.” Ji Shilin went up to greet Yu Weixi and glanced at the carrier in his hand. “You got a cat? And it’s so small.”
Yu Weixi nodded.
“Sir, you can go in for the examination now.” The nurse led Yu Weixi into the examination room.
Ji Shilin smiled and quietly followed.
The doctor was an old man with a white beard and a kind face.
After examining for a moment, the doctor frowned slightly, his expression not looking good.
“This…”
Yu Weixi’s heart skipped a beat. “What’s wrong?”
“I’m not sure, not sure. I’ll do a full X-ray scan.”
Yu Weixi paused and took a deep breath. “It’s okay, you can just tell me.”
The old man shook his head. “It’s FIP.”
Ji Shilin, who was listening on the side, paused, the smile gone from his face.
Yu Weixi was confused. “What’s that…?”
The old man explained, “It’s a terminal illness for cats. You can spend a lot of effort and money on treatment, but the survival rate is not high, especially for such a small cat…”
Yu Weixi was stunned.
Although he had prepared himself, he didn’t expect it to be really sick, and with such a serious illness.
“Xixi… don’t worry, we can try to treat it… and it’s not confirmed yet.” Ji Shilin reached out and patted Yu Weixi’s shoulder comfortingly, his tone gentle.
Yu Weixi subtly moved away and let the doctor take Nuomi for a more detailed examination.
After sitting on the waiting bench for a while, the results came out.
The doctor handed the report to Yu Weixi, his expression grave as he nodded.
“I suggest trying treatment, but if it doesn’t work, then euthanasia is the best option. The late stages of this disease are very painful.”
Yu Weixi took the report with a blank expression.
“You can think about it.” The doctor also gave Yu Weixi a treatment manual.
Yu Weixi clutched the manual, staring blankly while sitting on the bench.
Ji Shilin sat beside him. “Xixi, don’t be sad…”
“I’m not sad.” In the end, Yu Weixi didn’t make a decision. He just picked up the carrier and prepared to go back.
“Xixi…?” Ji Shilin was a little surprised. He hadn’t expected Yu Weixi to just leave.
The cat was so small, it didn’t have much time left. It was either euthanasia or treatment. He had to choose!
Yu Weixi looked at Ji Shilin, who had followed him, and felt a little annoyed.
He had specifically not let Niangao and Feng Yan come along, thinking that if something happened to the cat, the system could help. But with Ji Shilin hovering around him, he had no chance to use the system at all.
“Xixi, are you okay?” Ji Shilin meant well. Seeing that Yu Weixi didn’t look well, he was worried something might happen to him. “Should I take you home?”
“No, I’ll call a car myself.”
“Call a car?” Ji Shilin frowned slightly.
“I should take you home.”
“I said I’ll go back myself. I have a driver. Can’t you understand human language?” Yu Weixi had never been good-tempered. After shouting and making up a random excuse, he turned and walked towards the main entrance.
“Xixi…” Ji Shilin frowned slightly.
However, when Ji Shilin followed him out, he froze.
A black Mercedes-Benz was parked on the side. Feng Yan was wearing sunglasses, his hands on the steering wheel.
Then, Feng Yan rolled down the window and waved at Yu Weixi.
“Hi, I’m here to pick you up.”
Ji Shilin: “…”
Ji Shilin: “???”

A chapter unlocks every Wednesday and Saturday.
Yu Weixi was bound to a Sass System, roasting everyone in the entire entertainment industry. He roasted the veteran Film Emperor Feng into becoming his arch-nemesis and successfully made a name for himself as a top-tier celebrity through his antics. Until one day, Yu Weixi and the Film Emperor got drunk, had a wild night, and Yu Weixi even ended up pregnant. Yu Weixi: ... This was a bit of a big problem. Four years after running away with the baby, Yu Weixi passionately roasted Film Emperor Feng at a gala. After leaving the stage, he was cornered backstage by the Film Emperor. Film Emperor Feng loosely caged Yu Weixi with one arm, holding a hospital report in the other. He raised an eyebrow and said with a smile, "That three-year-old son of yours, whose is he?" Film Emperor Feng's eyes were dangerous, his presence exuding the oppressive aura of an older man. Yu Weixi: ... Yu Weixi: This really is a bit of a big problem. :) Film Emperor Feng: Not a big problem at all. :)

Short Skit:

Bystander: Why does it feel like the way Yu Weixi roasts Film Emperor Feng is so different from when he roasts other people? And why is it that when Yu Weixi roasts Film Emperor Feng, not only does the Film Emperor not get angry, he even looks happy?? Is that helplessly doting way he roasts back really okay?
Shipper: Because they're publicly bickering but secretly flirting! I'm shipping this so hard!
Solo Stan: Pfft, their relationship is so strained. If they get together, I'll eat a microphone!

And then... Film Emperor Feng posted on Weibo. It was a photo of him with a small child, whose expression was a carbon copy of Yu Weixi's.
In the photo, Film Emperor Feng was gently kissing the child's chubby cheek, with the caption:
You and him are both my most precious little treasures.
