Recently, due to a bug when splitting chapters, it was only possible to upload using whole numbers, which is why recent releases ended up with a higher chapter number than the actual chapter number. The chapters already uploaded and their respective novels can no longer be fixed unless we edit and re-upload them chapter by chapter(Chapters content are okay, just the number in the list is incorrect), but that would take a lot of time. Therefore, those uploaded in that way will remain as they are. The bug has been fixed(lasted 1 day), as seen with the recently uploaded novels, which can be split into parts and everything works as usual. From now on, all new content will be uploaded in correct order as before the bug happens. If time permits in the future, we may attempt to reorganize the previously affected chapters.

Chapter 1 Part 2

“Sit and wait” were not words in Lin Juan’s dictionary.

He tested the door’s sturdiness, took a few steps back, and kicked out.

“Boom—”

With a massive crash, the door collapsed.

The person outside jumped in fright.

“What happened? What’s going on?” Lu Mingxuan leaped up from his chair.

“Holy shit! The door’s broken?”

No sooner had he spoken than a red figure emerged from behind the wrecked door.

“Ghost!!!”

“Where’s a ghost?” Lin Juan perked up the moment he stepped out and heard someone yell about a ghost. Was he finally going to see one?

“Lin Juan?” Lu Mingxuan asked incredulously upon recognizing him.

“You know me?” Lin Juan raised a brow.

“Of course I do,” Lu Mingxuan patted his chest to calm his startled heart. “I was the one who picked you up. You forgot?”

“Nope,” Lin Juan actually remembered nothing. “Got any other clothes? Mine are dirty.”

Only then did Lu Mingxuan notice how wrinkled and soiled his clothes were. “Weren’t you supposed to stay in the bridal chamber with my little uncle for the night? Why’d you come out? And why are you so filthy?”

Afraid something had gone wrong, Lu Mingxuan said fiercely, “Hurry back. The master said you can’t leave the room tonight. What if you ruin the rushing joy ritual?”

Seeing Lin Juan unmoving, Lu Mingxuan pushed him back inside.

Lin Juan went along with the force, figuring the adolescent boy ahead of him didn’t seem scheming. He wanted to see if this guy knew about what had happened in the bridal chamber.

The moment they entered, Lu Mingxuan’s eyes widened. “This… what the hell happened?”

He’d only been away from the room for a few hours. Everything had been fine when he sent the guy in. How had it come to this?

The room looked like it had been violently trashed. There were large and small pits in the floor and walls—that wasn’t the key point. The key was that every pit was embedded with a bizarre creature.

Lin Juan leaned against the doorframe and said leisurely, “That’s what I want to ask you. Wasn’t this rushing joy? Releasing so many monsters—were you planning to feed both of us to them?”

“No way!” Lu Mingxuan instinctively took two steps back, suppressing the urge to bolt.

No, he couldn’t panic. His little uncle was still here.

“I’ll call Grandpa and have them come over.”

Lin Juan observed him impassively for a moment. The adolescent boy seemed unaware of the monsters, but his connection to the others was unclear for now.

Lu Mingxuan pulled out his phone and dialed his grandfather.

“Grandpa, something happened at Little Uncle’s place.”

Unsure of the details, Lu Mingxuan didn’t say much, just described the scene roughly before hanging up. His peripheral vision caught the collapsed door, sending a shiver down his spine.

Their family door had been specially reinforced per the master’s instructions. How had it been wrecked like this?

He glanced at the young man in the room. For some reason, Lu Mingxuan felt like he was different from before.

But with more pressing matters, he didn’t dwell on it.

The adolescent boy was visibly distraught. Lin Juan decided to seize the initiative and get to the bottom of things. “Why were you guarding the door?”

“The master said no outsiders with different surnames could approach. Grandpa’s old and didn’t trust Second Uncle and the others, so he had me wait here overnight.”

Perhaps to ease his tension, Lu Mingxuan rambled on.

Lin Juan sifted through his words for key information, his heart stirring slightly.

If he wasn’t wrong, he had transmigrated into a book.

Because of the shared name, Lin Juan had some impression of it.

Descent of the Weird was a weird novel with some unlucky elements. In the book, all sorts of weird phenomena existed. They would pollute normal humans and infect them. Those infected who got lucky gained supernatural abilities and became ability users, but most turned into new weird phenomena.

The major villain who destroyed the world at the book’s end was a normal human who had been infected.

Lu Yanzhou, the head of Huaguo’s top prestigious Lu Family, should have been heaven’s favored son with a smooth life ahead of him. Yet he fell victim to a scheme. Everyone he cared about died miserably, everything he valued was destroyed, and he himself got dragged into an evil force’s conspiracy. He became contaminated and mutated, died, and fell to become a Weird as he embarked on a path of vengeance.

Lin Juan transmigrated into the cannon fodder character from the early plot who had been married to Lu Yanzhou in a luck-bringing marriage. The character appeared for fewer than three hundred words in the entire story before getting eaten by a Weird on the wedding night.

He wondered how the villain was doing now.

In the book, that luck-bringing wedding night marked a massive turning point in Lu Yanzhou’s life.

After that day, he became contaminated. His condition worsened day by day. While his grandfather negotiated with outside forces in an attempt to save him, the old man met an unexpected end. His nephew got caught in a Weird vortex and failed to break free…

Everything he cared about was destroyed piece by piece. Hope shattered. As expected, Lu Yanzhou turned dark.

Lin Juan shuddered at the thought of the book’s original ending, where darkness invaded and drained the life from the world. He had no idea how he had ended up in this world, but he did not want to witness that ending.

Until he found a way back, he planned to live in this world. Compared to a barren world overrun by Weird only, he much preferred the current vibrant era where humanity thrived.

By the plot’s timeline, this was the early stage of the Weird Phenomena’s arrival. Only a handful of humans knew of their existence. The world was not yet riddled with holes—it was much like the one Lin Juan had come from.

Lin Juan decided to check on the villain’s situation first.

He was now married to the villain, placing them in the same camp for the short term. If possible, he wanted to prevent the plot from following its original course.

Exactly how to do that would depend on the Lu Family’s attitude.

Lin Juan casually chatted with Lu Mingxuan to fish for information.

Unfortunately, the kid seemed carefree on the surface, but when he calmed down, his mind proved quite sharp. He only revealed irrelevant tidbits.

The room was a total mess with nowhere to sit. When Old Master Lu arrived with his people, he saw his grandson and the newlywed spouse standing by the rickety doorframe, talking about something.

“Grandpa.” Upon seeing his grandfather, Lu Mingxuan quickly straightened up.

Old Master Lu walked to the doorway. Even with his vast experience, the scene inside still startled him.

It looked like a war had raged through the place—no, a real battle had taken place, complete with a motionless Weird creature of unknown status. Old Master Lu gripped his cane tighter and looked at the two young men. “Xiao Lin, Mingxuan, are you two alright?”

“I’m fine, Grandpa. The room was already like this when I came in.” At that point, Lu Mingxuan realized something. He slowly turned his head and pointed to a massive crater. “Lin Juan, did you do all this?”

“And the door…”

His little uncle lay unconscious. Apart from the monster, Lin Juan was the only living thing left in the room. Lu Mingxuan’s eyes widened in horror.

What kind of person had they married off to his little uncle?!

“No manners.” As someone who had seen it all, Old Master Lu quickly regained his composure. “Call him Little Uncle.”

Lin Juan had often gone down the mountain with his master to assist others in their cultivation training, so he had encountered all sorts of people and developed a knack for reading them.

Through their brief exchange, Lin Juan confirmed that Old Master Lu was someone he could work with. He admitted frankly, “That was me. And not just that—there was more…”

Lin Juan gave a simple recounting of everything that had happened since he woke up.

He spoke casually, oblivious to the stormy waves he stirred in Old Master Lu and Lu Mingxuan’s hearts.

They never imagined such a heart-pounding incident would occur on their youngest son/little uncle’s wedding night.

The thought of what might have befallen their son/uncle if Lin Juan hadn’t possessed such abilities—and if the monster had appeared—made them both shudder.

Luckily.

Old Master Lu glanced at his youngest son, who lay peacefully on the bed, and felt a bit relieved.

Lin Juan noticed their reactions but paid them no mind. He paused at the end, his expression turning grave. “That is…”

“What?” Old Master Lu assumed it was something even more serious and felt his heart lift into his throat.

What could be an even harder problem to solve?

No matter what it was, they wouldn’t let Lin Juan face it alone anymore.

They had been unaware of tonight’s events. Otherwise, they never would have left him here by himself.

With that in mind, Old Master Lu spoke up. “Xiao Lin, whatever you need from us, just say the word. Even though we’ve never seen or heard of things like this before, I believe the Lu Family still has some pull. You…”

“No, no.” Lin Juan cut him off. “That’s not what I meant.”

“Then what is it?” Lu Mingxuan asked curiously.

“I trashed the room like this. It’s going to cost a fortune to fix, right?”

Judging from the furnishings and the book’s description of the Lu Family, Lin Juan was certain the repair bill would be an enormous sum!

He had just arrived in this new world without earning a dime, and now he was already in massive debt. Lin Juan’s vision went black.

He had always had immense strength and wrecked things easily, costing him a lot in compensations before. Besides, as a cultivator plagued by the five disadvantages and three shortcomings, he was fated to lack money. He had never been able to save any. And to top it off, he had just transmigrated here utterly penniless.

Lin Juan fiddled with the hem of his clothes. “Plus the door repairs… Can I pay in installments?”

Status: Ongoing Native Language: Chinese
Lin Juan was born with monstrous strength. One day, he transmigrated and became the cannon fodder male wife sent in the book to bring joy to the great villain Lu Yanzhou. Lu Yanzhou, the head of a top-tier conglomerate, was originally heaven's favored son. Unfortunately, he fell victim to a scheme—his entire family perished tragically, he died full of resentment, and afterward devolved into the world's most terrifying anomaly. In the end, he eliminated the protagonist group and destroyed the world. When he arrived after transmigrating, the villain had already fallen to the scheme and lay gravely ill. On their wedding night, the anomalies lurking in the shadows stirred restlessly, awaiting the moment to deliver their final strike to Lu Yanzhou. But when they revealed themselves, Lin Juan—the one who should have been a soft, weak pushover turned into their fodder—narrowed his eyes and clenched his fist— Bang!!! One, two... every last one of them. All the anomalies were smashed straight into the floor. Lin Juan, who had just taken a bite of a snack, planted one foot on the Stacking Toy Anomaly, still unsatisfied: "So fragile?" The joy-bringing succeeded spectacularly. The Lu Family gave far too much, so Lin Juan took the initiative for after-sales service. Every day, he stuck by Lu Yanzhou's side for protection (crossed out) eating, drinking, and merrymaking, conveniently handling anomalies for him and enjoying himself immensely. When the appointed day arrived, Lin Juan—who had become the new big boss of the anomaly world—was about to produce the divorce agreement when black-mist-shrouded tentacles wrapped around him. The man's voice was low and husky, his tone dangerous yet ambiguous: "Juan Juan, planning to use me up and toss me away?"
