Wei Yuan couldn’t remember how he got back to his own compartment.
Even now, three days later, at home, he still replayed the scene in his mind.
The man’s forceful kisses, the tingling sensation of his lips being nibbled, their mingled breaths, the feeling of his waist and hips being caressed…
He had never known kissing could be so overwhelming.

Wei Yuan had pretended to be calm as he entered the house.

But his act had been successful. After three days, they had stopped teasing him, and Jiang Su, busy with work, hadn’t come home.

Wei Yuan opened them. They were pictures of the adorable kittens.
Big Orange swaying in the hammock, the calico and tabby playing with a ball. They were still ruling Ping’an Street, but Lu Dingyun would bring them home for short visits, and they had become familiar with his apartment.
They were slightly worried about their missing boss, but otherwise doing well.
Besides them, there were also the two pregnant cats.
Lu Dingyun had told him this morning that they might give birth soon, and Wei Yuan wanted to visit them, but he felt it would be presumptuous to just show up at Lu Dingyun’s apartment.

They all had similar content, claiming someone had anonymously revealed that Lu Dingyun and Wei Yuan had been alone together in a first-class compartment on their flight back from the island, doing something unknown.
Apparently, Lu Dingyun had emerged looking frustrated, while Wei Yuan had looked disheveled and… satisfied, suggesting they had almost… but Movie Emperor Lu hadn’t been satisfied, and Wei Yuan had been incredibly seductive.
Wei Yuan’s vision darkened, reading the reports.
There had been only three witnesses that day: Teacher Ma, the flight attendant, and Fan Tian.
Teacher Ma was definitely out of the question, leaving the flight attendant and Fan Tian as the most likely culprits.
And they had probably told others, who had then spread the news, so finding the original source was impossible.
And even if he did, it wouldn’t change anything.
And clarifying was pointless. It was all true, what was there to clarify?
And they had ignored all the previous rumors, only addressing this one, as if implying that all the other rumors were true.
So, there was nothing he could do. He had lost all face.
He wrapped himself in his blanket, rolling around on the bed, turning himself into a burrito of despair.

His phone rang. It was a video call.

The familiar image of the operating room and Doctor Lu in his white coat appeared on the screen.

Lu Dingyun removed his mask. “I just helped a cat give birth. Do you want to see the kittens?”
He had initially thought Wei Yuan might be afraid of cats, but as Jiang Su had said, he wasn’t anymore, even expressing delight when Lu Dingyun talked about the kittens.
After he had sent Wei Yuan videos of Big Orange and the others, Wei Yuan had even video called him, interacting with the kittens through the phone.
And the kittens seemed to like him, Big Orange even trying to paw at the screen.
So, Lu Dingyun no longer hesitated to talk about the kittens with Wei Yuan.
As expected, Wei Yuan’s eyes lit up. “Show me the kittens!”
He had heard from Lu Dingyun that newborn kittens looked like little mice, their fur sparse.
Lu Dingyun turned the camera, walking towards the incubator.
“Only Cao Mei gave birth today. Pu Tao will probably give birth tomorrow,” Lu Dingyun said.
Wei Yuan didn’t comment on his naming scheme, clearly based on “Gui Yuan” and all fruits.
Cao Mei (Strawberry) was an orange cat, and the kittens’ father was clearly also orange, as they were all a deep orange color.
“Wow, they’re so small,” Wei Yuan looked at the kittens in awe.
“Five of them, all healthy,” Lu Dingyun’s voice was gentle, just like when he was talking to the kitten before.
Having opened his heart to animals, and now able to interact normally with Wei Yuan, a human, Lu Dingyun was pleased with his progress.
“Can you tell them apart?” Wei Yuan asked curiously.
Lu Dingyun moved the camera closer, and Wei Yuan saw thin, colorful threads tied around the kittens’ paws.
They were so thin that they were barely visible.
“You arranged them according to the colors of the rainbow, didn’t you?” Wei Yuan was familiar with Lu Dingyun’s habit of doing things the easiest way possible.
“Yes,” Lu Dingyun chuckled. “Number three is the most energetic.”
Just then, one of the kittens started kicking its legs, bumping into the other two beside it.
Wei Yuan chuckled. “That one must be number three.”
Lu Dingyun checked the yellow thread on its paw. “It is.”
They watched the kittens for a while before Lu Dingyun turned the camera back.
Wei Yuan hadn’t realized how much he liked kittens.
He had missed out on so much.
“It’s eleven o’clock,” Lu Dingyun said. “Time for bed.”
Wei Yuan, who had been lying on his stomach, rolled onto his back, holding his phone up. “Aren’t you going to sleep?”
From Lu Dingyun’s perspective, it looked like he was leaning over Wei Yuan.
“I’m going to wash up first,” he said.
Wei Yuan: “Okay, should I hang up then?”
“Mm, good night.”
Lu Dingyun’s voice was deep and gentle, like a lover’s whisper.
Wei Yuan’s ears felt warm, and he quickly said good night and hung up.
Lu Dingyun smiled, looking at the sleeping kittens.
He suddenly remembered their encounter on the plane.
Besides the visual feast and the physical and emotional satisfaction, there was something else he couldn’t forget.
He had seen a few cat hairs on Wei Yuan’s clothes.
