Recently, due to a bug when splitting chapters, it was only possible to upload using whole numbers, which is why recent releases ended up with a higher chapter number than the actual chapter number. The chapters already uploaded and their respective novels can no longer be fixed unless we edit and re-upload them chapter by chapter(Chapters content are okay, just the number in the list is incorrect), but that would take a lot of time. Therefore, those uploaded in that way will remain as they are. The bug has been fixed(lasted 1 day), as seen with the recently uploaded novels, which can be split into parts and everything works as usual. From now on, all new content will be uploaded in correct order as before the bug happens. If time permits in the future, we may attempt to reorganize the previously affected chapters.

Chapter 48: Goddess (Minor Revision) Part 1

What?

Delete Fu Si Heng? And he no longer needed to do the things they had agreed on before?

Were these words coming from Fu Zheng?

Tao Zhi was very shocked.

Amid the shock came a trace of panic, as he suspected he might have misheard.

It was hard to believe.

He opened his mouth to confirm with Fu Zheng.

Fu Zheng, unusually good-tempered, repeated it for him once, and Tao Zhi immediately fell into a daze.

“So, I don’t need to seduce Fu Si Heng anymore, and I don’t need to steal the files either. Right?” Tao Zhi murmured.

“Right.” Fu Zheng was in an extremely good mood today; he even answered a third time.

As a result, Tao Zhi felt even more dazed.

He wholeheartedly agreed with not having to steal files anymore, but the first part…

This put Tao Zhi, who had already become Fu Si Heng’s girlfriend, in an extremely awkward situation.

Tao Zhi’s expression stiffened for a moment. After snapping back to reality, he instinctively pulled his arm out of Fu Zheng’s grasp first, then picked up the specialty snacks that had fallen to the floor. Trying to steady his tone, he asked, “Why the sudden change of heart?”

“I don’t want revenge anymore,” Fu Zheng told him breezily.

In truth, he still wanted revenge—especially after leaving Fu Si Heng’s place today, Fu Zheng had been so angry that he kicked a trash can downstairs.

But he wouldn’t let Tao Zhi help him anymore.

He didn’t know if Fu Si Heng could accept a midway replacement.

Yet he also felt that switching people wouldn’t be good.

Devising these plans with someone else would inevitably lead to more contact, and Fu Zheng wasn’t sure if Tao Zhi would get jealous.

Anyway, he figured that since he had someone he liked, he should keep his distance from unrelated people—even if it was just work-related.

Keeping oneself clean was the most basic moral cultivation.

Tch.

He would deal with those matters later; there was no rush. His conflict with Fu Si Heng wasn’t something that had arisen in just a day or two. He could think of a more suitable revenge method later.

Fu Zheng convinced himself and temporarily set aside his worries. He sat down in a chair and started eating the specialty snacks Tao Zhi had brought.

Hiss.

So sour.

But these were specially brought for him by Tao Zhi.

Even the sourness tasted sweet.

Fu Zheng ate one after another.

Tao Zhi: “…”

He looked so relaxed, but Tao Zhi’s mood was extremely complicated at that moment.

Complicated and dazed, his gaze shifted as he watched Fu Zheng’s actions and repeated, “Oh, you don’t want revenge anymore, huh.”

Fu Zheng’s casual remark left Tao Zhi even more confused.

What was he supposed to do now?

He was already Fu Si Heng’s girlfriend.

No more doing bad things brought relief, but it was followed by confusion.

He didn’t know what to do or how to handle his relationship with Fu Si Heng next. Should he tell Fu Zheng everything now and ask for his help?

This was so troubling; the situation was really complicated.

If Fu Zheng heard the reason, he would definitely mock him, pinch his cheeks, kick him while he was down, be sarcastic, and lecture him that it was all because he wasn’t smart enough and had played mind games.

He would nag endlessly until Tao Zhi couldn’t hold his head up high, and having his cheeks pinched hurt too—Fu Zheng wasn’t like Fu Si Heng; his grip was brutally strong.

And… would Fu Zheng really help him resolve things with Fu Si Heng?

Not necessarily.

He still didn’t know why Fu Zheng had decided against revenge.

He feared that spilling the beans might reignite Fu Zheng’s desire for revenge, which would be even worse.

It had been hard enough to avoid stealing confidential company files… He’d heard that was illegal.

Tao Zhi’s mind raced with thoughts, leaving him troubled as he stood frozen in place.

Hiss.

These dried apricots were still too sour.

Even though they were from Tao Zhi and carried a sweet feeling, he couldn’t eat too many at once.

Fu Zheng stopped eating the dried apricots and shifted his attention back to Tao Zhi. He also remembered something Tao Zhi had ignored: “Why haven’t you deleted Fu Si Heng yet?”

Tao Zhi: “…”

Tao Zhi snapped back to reality.

How could he dare delete him?

Before figuring out a solution, he didn’t dare make any rash moves at all.

Tao Zhi’s mind was in turmoil, and he didn’t really want to deal with Fu Zheng.

How could he resolve things with Fu Si Heng quietly and peacefully without Fu Zheng finding out?

So distressing.

Tao Zhi could no longer force a smile; his face showed pure bitterness and difficulty.

Fu Zheng: “?”

What was with that expression?

Tao Zhi didn’t respond to his words and even showed such a troubled look, which stirred a sense of crisis in Fu Zheng.

In his view, not having to seduce Fu Si Heng should have been cause for celebration for Tao Zhi.

He had even imagined Tao Zhi jumping up in joy to hug him.

Saying things like, Fu Zheng, you’re so good! You’re the best!

Then asking nervously if he would take back the money he’d given before.

A little money-grubber like that.

He would say no, and Tao Zhi would jump up to hug him again, saying you’re so good nonstop and smiling at him.

Cough.

Why was there no hug now?

Maybe he was too excited to react; Tao Zhi was a bit slow sometimes.

Fu Zheng forcibly convinced himself, suppressing the uneasy sense of crisis. He wouldn’t nitpick these details with Tao Zhi and focused on the most important thing.

Fu Zheng stood up and reached out to Tao Zhi: “Hand it over; I’ll delete it for you.”

???!

What?

Tao Zhi was so startled by his action that he retreated two or three steps, eyeing him warily.

Fu Zheng: “???”

“I-I-I’ll do it myself.” How could Tao Zhi let Fu Zheng see his phone?

Just opening the chat with Fu Si Heng would reveal screens full of voice calls, video calls, and Fu Si Heng’s messy pet names like “baby” and “darling.”

Tao Zhi snapped fully awake from the scare. Ignoring future troubles, he dealt with the immediate one first: “I’ll do it myself just fine.”

Fu Zheng: “?”

What kind of reaction was this?

It was the second time today.

Fu Zheng was very displeased.

Ah? Me?

Ah? Me?

Tao Zhi had struggled immensely to make it from the countryside to the big city through sheer hard work on the exams. His family was dirt poor and couldn't afford to send him to university, so he shouldered student loans and scraped by with part-time jobs. He juggled classes and work, heading out early and dragging himself home late, pinching every single yuan until it screamed. Life was brutally tough. Until a rich second-generation heir moved into his dorm as a roommate. The roommate was fierce. Bad-tempered, petty, and loaded with young master syndrome. On his very first day, he bossed Tao Zhi around, making him wash his clothes, polish his shoes, attend classes in his place, and fetch his packages. ...And then handed him a thousand yuan as a hardship fee. Tao Zhi, who had just been inwardly griping about how over-the-top this new roommate was: Huh??? The little money-grubber's eyes lit up. - From that day on, Tao Zhi dutifully stepped up as the rich heir's little lackey. When the roommate ate, he passed the chopsticks. When he drank water, he twisted off the cap. When the roommate bullied someone... he hung back, using his own scrawny frame to prop up the scene. But he didn't quite nail the act and got chewed out for it. That night, he rushed to the library and crammed through over a dozen novels, studying up on how to play the haughty, overbearing lackey. One weekend. Tao Zhi had just returned from the library when he spotted an uninvited guest in the dorm. Dressed in a sharp suit, exuding a cold, imposing aura. The man stood before the roommate, wiping blood from his knuckles. His gleaming leather shoe ground Tao Zhi's god of wealth—his roommate—into the floor. "If I catch you stirring up trouble at school again, you're out." Tao Zhi was petrified. He stood there frozen, not daring to twitch. Only after the man left did he scramble over to help his roommate up. The roommate gritted his teeth, wiped the blood from his nose, and spat at Tao Zhi, word by word: "I order you to seduce my brother, toy with him, then dump him hard. Steal his company's trade secrets while you're at it. I'm seizing power—I want *him* gone!" Tao Zhi: "?" Huh? Tao Zhi's vision went black. Thinking back to the man's icy demeanor, he collapsed straight to the floor and jabbed a finger at himself. "M-Me?" ** Reading Guide: 1. Both pure, mutual first loves.
