Recently, due to a bug when splitting chapters, it was only possible to upload using whole numbers, which is why recent releases ended up with a higher chapter number than the actual chapter number. The chapters already uploaded and their respective novels can no longer be fixed unless we edit and re-upload them chapter by chapter(Chapters content are okay, just the number in the list is incorrect), but that would take a lot of time. Therefore, those uploaded in that way will remain as they are. The bug has been fixed(lasted 1 day), as seen with the recently uploaded novels, which can be split into parts and everything works as usual. From now on, all new content will be uploaded in correct order as before the bug happens. If time permits in the future, we may attempt to reorganize the previously affected chapters.

Chapter 7: WeChat Part 2

With that, he picked up the suit jacket draped over Tao Zhi’s legs and, in the same motion, hauled Tao Zhi to his feet: “Let’s go.”

Tao Zhi: “?”

Huh?

Tao Zhi followed Fu Si Heng as he left.

He had no idea where Fu Si Heng was taking him and trailed behind in a daze.

After passing through a long corridor and reaching the club entrance, Tao Zhi finally mustered the courage to ask nervously: “Brother Fu, where are you taking me?”

He wouldn’t drag him out for a beating, right?

Because he had harassed him earlier…?

Thinking of Fu Zheng’s bad temper, Tao Zhi stereotyped that Fu Si Heng must be similar, if not even fiercer looking… A chill inexplicably ran down his neck.

“Back.” Fu Si Heng answered him.

Hm……?

Back? What did that mean?

He still didn’t get it, but facing Fu Si Heng’s cold face, he didn’t dare press further and simply followed closely behind.

They arrived at the parking lot, in front of a black Maybach.

The driver stepped out from the driver’s seat. Fu Si Heng waved him off, indicating no need. The driver nodded and got back in.

Fu Si Heng opened the car door for Tao Zhi, who climbed in. Fu Si Heng went around to the other side.

Tao Zhi’s gaze followed Fu Si Heng the whole time.

He saw him get in and heard the driver up front ask: “President Fu, where to?”

“S University.”

Tao Zhi blinked again.

He had drunk a bit of fruit wine back in the private room. Though it was low-alcohol, he never touched booze, so even a little got him slightly buzzed.

His mind was clear, but his cheeks had flushed red.

The originally translucent light pink blush now seemed to have spread, like peach blossom petals crushed by fingertips to release their juice, becoming even more moist and shy.

“……”

He only looked pure.

In reality, not simple at all.

Very scheming.

“You’re classmates with Fu Zheng?” Fu Si Heng sat with his legs crossed, glanced at Tao Zhi once, then turned to look out the window.

“……Yeah.” Tao Zhi opened his mouth and nodded in response.

Fu Si Heng: “Then I’ll drop you at the school gate.”

Whoa!

He really meant dropping him back literally!

Tao Zhi was a bit surprised, but quickly delighted.

Great!

Being forced back meant he was off the clock today!

Tao Zhi nodded eagerly, moving so fast as if afraid Fu Si Heng would change his mind: “That’s fine, that’s fine!”

Fu Si Heng: “……”

Fu Si Heng acknowledged it, and the driver started the car.

The drive from the club to school took about an hour. Probably because they were no longer under Fu Zheng’s watchful eye, Tao Zhi relaxed and started slacking off without a care.

He and Fu Si Heng sat on opposite sides, far apart in the middle.

……

He had been so bold when flirting earlier, but now he was pretending not to disturb again.

Fu Si Heng wasn’t sure which was the real him. He tugged at his lip, then closed his eyes to rest, ignoring Tao Zhi.

Until they reached the destination.

At the school gate, the car stopped.

The driver glanced at Fu Si Heng in the rearview mirror, hesitating whether to speak, when Tao Zhi took the initiative.

He thought Fu Si Heng was asleep and called out softly: “Brother Fu.”

“Brother Fu, thanks for the ride back. I’ll head in now.”

His voice was very soft, as if afraid to disturb Fu Si Heng’s rest. But his upbringing told him he couldn’t just leave without a word; he had to say goodbye first.

Tao Zhi didn’t expect a response from Fu Si Heng. He finished speaking and opened the car door.

“Mm.” A low male voice suddenly came from behind, startling Tao Zhi.

Tao Zhi turned back and saw that Fu Si Heng had opened his eyes at some point.

The light inside the car was dim, and Tao Zhi’s door-opening action sliced in a patch of light and shadow. He only made out the lower half of Fu Si Heng’s face—sharp and profound contours that made Tao Zhi pause slightly. But he quickly recovered and gave Fu Si Heng a friendly smile: “See you next time, Brother Fu.”

With that, he closed the door.

He thought the farewell was done and could leave, but when he circled to the other side of the door, Fu Si Heng lowered the window.

Just a bit, not much.

One-third of the window.

Tao Zhi: “……?”

Did Fu Si Heng have something to say to him?

Tao Zhi was puzzled but obediently stopped, bent down, and met Fu Si Heng’s gaze inside the car.

Two minutes.

Tao Zhi’s expression was blank.

Fu Si Heng: “……”

For a full two minutes, neither spoke.

Fu Si Heng’s gaze was inscrutable, his expression indescribable.

Tao Zhi didn’t understand what he meant but could tell he was puzzled and his face was very stern.

……A bit scary.

But Tao Zhi couldn’t figure out why he was like this.

Had he said something wrong to upset him?

No, he had been very well-behaved the whole ride without harassing him!

He had been polite when leaving too.

He hadn’t caused trouble or been annoying.

So confusing.

Couldn’t figure it out.

Just then, his phone pinged.

Tao Zhi looked down at the message.

When he left the club, Fu Zheng had asked where he was going, sending a string of question marks.

Tao Zhi had only replied after getting in the car, saying Fu Si Heng was taking him back to school. Fu Zheng had gone quiet then.

Now he messaged again.

Fu Zheng: 【Remember to get Fu Si Heng’s contact info. Add WeChat or something.】

Oh!

This reminded Tao Zhi.

He quickly bent down and knocked on the window.

“Brother Fu, mind if we add WeChat?” Tao Zhi’s eyes sparkled as he asked carefully.

Fu Si Heng didn’t speak.

Where the hell did Fu Zheng find this idiot?

Not professional at all.

“……Brother Fu?” Maybe he didn’t want to add him?

Ugh.

Possible… Sigh, another task from Fu Zheng he couldn’t complete.

Nothing to be done.

He couldn’t force Fu Si Heng.

Rejected, but not upset—just a bit awkward. Tao Zhi scratched his temple, about to withdraw—

A black phone extended from the window.

It displayed a WeChat QR code.

Fu Si Heng’s cold voice followed: “Scan.”

Ah? Me?

Ah? Me?

Tao Zhi had struggled immensely to make it from the countryside to the big city through sheer hard work on the exams. His family was dirt poor and couldn't afford to send him to university, so he shouldered student loans and scraped by with part-time jobs. He juggled classes and work, heading out early and dragging himself home late, pinching every single yuan until it screamed. Life was brutally tough. Until a rich second-generation heir moved into his dorm as a roommate. The roommate was fierce. Bad-tempered, petty, and loaded with young master syndrome. On his very first day, he bossed Tao Zhi around, making him wash his clothes, polish his shoes, attend classes in his place, and fetch his packages. ...And then handed him a thousand yuan as a hardship fee. Tao Zhi, who had just been inwardly griping about how over-the-top this new roommate was: Huh??? The little money-grubber's eyes lit up. - From that day on, Tao Zhi dutifully stepped up as the rich heir's little lackey. When the roommate ate, he passed the chopsticks. When he drank water, he twisted off the cap. When the roommate bullied someone... he hung back, using his own scrawny frame to prop up the scene. But he didn't quite nail the act and got chewed out for it. That night, he rushed to the library and crammed through over a dozen novels, studying up on how to play the haughty, overbearing lackey. One weekend. Tao Zhi had just returned from the library when he spotted an uninvited guest in the dorm. Dressed in a sharp suit, exuding a cold, imposing aura. The man stood before the roommate, wiping blood from his knuckles. His gleaming leather shoe ground Tao Zhi's god of wealth—his roommate—into the floor. "If I catch you stirring up trouble at school again, you're out." Tao Zhi was petrified. He stood there frozen, not daring to twitch. Only after the man left did he scramble over to help his roommate up. The roommate gritted his teeth, wiped the blood from his nose, and spat at Tao Zhi, word by word: "I order you to seduce my brother, toy with him, then dump him hard. Steal his company's trade secrets while you're at it. I'm seizing power—I want *him* gone!" Tao Zhi: "?" Huh? Tao Zhi's vision went black. Thinking back to the man's icy demeanor, he collapsed straight to the floor and jabbed a finger at himself. "M-Me?" ** Reading Guide: 1. Both pure, mutual first loves.
