Recently, due to a bug when splitting chapters, it was only possible to upload using whole numbers, which is why recent releases ended up with a higher chapter number than the actual chapter number. The chapters already uploaded and their respective novels can no longer be fixed unless we edit and re-upload them chapter by chapter(Chapters content are okay, just the number in the list is incorrect), but that would take a lot of time. Therefore, those uploaded in that way will remain as they are. The bug has been fixed(lasted 1 day), as seen with the recently uploaded novels, which can be split into parts and everything works as usual. From now on, all new content will be uploaded in correct order as before the bug happens. If time permits in the future, we may attempt to reorganize the previously affected chapters.

Chapter 8: Dummy Part 1

Hearing Fu Si Heng’s cold tone, Tao Zhi was stunned for several seconds.

Then, through the car window, he saw Fu Si Heng’s furrowed brows.

He didn’t even dare to feel puzzled anymore. He quickly did as instructed, took out his phone, scanned the WeChat QR code, and added him as a friend.

The moment he sent the verification message, the request was approved immediately.

At that moment, he had perfectly completed the task Fu Zheng assigned him. He now had Fu Si Heng’s WeChat.

Huh?

Was it really that simple?

Tao Zhi lowered his head to look at his phone screen, then raised his eyes to Fu Si Heng’s face inside the car, which wasn’t very clear.

Neither of them spoke.

The scene was silent for about four or five seconds before Tao Zhi belatedly realized that he probably needed to say goodbye to Fu Si Heng next. Something like, “Take care on the road, Brother Fu.”

Tao Zhi was a very polite college student.

Although his family was poor, his parents had raised him well.

But clearly, Fu Si Heng’s parents hadn’t taught him quite as well.

Fu Si Heng put away his phone, glanced at Tao Zhi, let out a hum, and then ruthlessly raised the car window.

The Maybach started up and soon disappeared from Tao Zhi’s sight.

Alright then.

Maybe he was used to Fu Zheng’s impoliteness, so he hadn’t held high expectations for Fu Si Heng either. This actually fit the personalities of the two brothers quite well.

Tao Zhi didn’t take this little matter to heart. He just felt that he had excellently completed Fu Zheng’s request that night, which was worth the fifty thousand yuan.

Fifty thousand yuan!

Now, at least half of it should end up in his pocket, and he no longer had to worry about Fu Zheng going back on his word and taking it away.

Tao Zhi’s mood instantly brightened.

As he walked back to the dorm, he reported the good news to Fu Zheng.

Coincidentally, Fu Zheng had just messaged asking if he had added him as a friend.

Tao Zhi typed honestly: 【Added.】

The little dummy was quite pleased and even sent a spinning bunny emoticon.

Fu Zheng was still at the club.

He sat on a bench by the pool, messaging Tao Zhi: 【Good.】

Fu Zheng: 【I’m not coming back tonight. Head back to the dorm by yourself.】

Fu Zheng: 【We’ll review tonight’s events tomorrow.】

Tao Zhi: 【Okay.】

After replying to Fu Zheng, Tao Zhi waited a minute and saw no more messages, so he put away his phone.

The summer night breeze was cool. Tao Zhi’s long black hair was blown up, a few strands sticking to his fair cheeks, the ends brushing his nose tip. He raised his hand to tuck them back.

Tuck?

It took him a moment to realize why his hair was blowing onto his face. Tao Zhi looked puzzled, his steps halting at the same time. Then, a male voice came from beside him.

“Cough, hello, classmate.”

A somewhat familiar voice. Tao Zhi turned his head and saw a senior he recognized.

So he blinked and subconsciously said, “Senior? What a coincidence. Looking for me?”

“?” The senior was stunned.

He couldn’t understand how this pretty girl knew him—he had no impression of her at all… He had mustered up a lot of courage just to come over and strike up a conversation!

But his mind worked quickly. After a brief daze, he reacted and immediately changed his address: “Junior?”

Tao Zhi: “?”

Junior?

Ah…

Oh…

Tao Zhi looked down and saw his skirt.

AHHHHHH!

His eyes widened in an instant, his cheeks flushing bright red.

How could he have forgotten he was in women’s clothing!

Fortunately, this hadn’t happened right under the dorm building. Otherwise, if someone saw him entering the boys’ dorm and returning to his room like this, he couldn’t even imagine the gossip that would follow.

This wasn’t something a conservative, straight guy like him could endure.

After his frantic realization, he didn’t even have time for politeness. He hastily waved goodbye to the senior apologetically and ran off to a less crowded spot, then called Fu Zheng.

He explained his situation to Fu Zheng and carefully gripped his phone as he asked, “What should I do now?”

Fu Zheng heard this and said: “…”

“Are you an idiot?” Fu Zheng was exasperated.

After cursing at Tao Zhi, he hung up and immediately rushed back to school.

An hour later, Fu Zheng arrived near the school’s artificial lake.

Tao Zhi didn’t dare go back to the dorm or sit in a crowded milk tea shop, so he chose a quiet bench to wait for Fu Zheng.

When Fu Zheng arrived, Tao Zhi was in the middle of rejecting the 12th person who had hit on him that night.

Now that he remembered he was in women’s clothing, he didn’t even dare speak. He just pursed his lips and waved them off.

Fu Zheng stood there watching for a few seconds without being noticed: “…”

Unable to tolerate it any longer, he walked over with a cold face, grabbed Tao Zhi without regard for the onlooker, and dragged him away.

Tao Zhi jumped in fright but relaxed when he saw it was Fu Zheng.

But that relief lasted only two seconds.

Two seconds later, his heart was in his throat again.

Because that night, he had made a super serious mistake.

If he said it out loud, Fu Zheng would probably curse him to death.

Earning money was really so hard.

Tao Zhi sighed to himself.

“Fu Zheng.” After steadying his emotions, he softly called Fu Zheng’s name: “……There’s something I want to tell you.”

“Speak.” Fu Zheng’s tone wasn’t great.

Tao Zhi scratched his head, brewing for a while before daring to say: “I-I think I forgot I was pretending to be a girl.”

This was a very serious matter. Because he had forgotten, he hadn’t deliberately pitched his voice higher, and the whole voice disguise thing had slipped his mind completely.

It probably started from when he got in the car.

The comfortable temperature inside the car, and no one staring at him constantly, so he had completely forgotten about it.

After getting out, he had even spoken several sentences to Fu Si Heng.

Thinking that he might have been exposed, Tao Zhi felt a chill of fear.

He had bustled around all evening for nothing. He didn’t know how Fu Zheng would scold him or if he’d demand the money back. He had made such a big sacrifice…

“I’m sorry, Fu Zheng.” Tao Zhi braced himself and said: “I ruined your plan. I’m really sorry.”

Fu Zheng: “……”

Fu Zheng considered himself a bit smarter than Tao Zhi, so he quickly realized what this apology meant.

What an idiot Tao Zhi was.

Fu Zheng had a bad temper. Back in the day, if any of his underlings screwed up, he absolutely wouldn’t let them off. But now, seeing Tao Zhi looking up at him cautiously with that apologetic expression… for some reason, he suddenly couldn’t get angry.

Ah? Me?

Ah? Me?

Tao Zhi had struggled immensely to make it from the countryside to the big city through sheer hard work on the exams. His family was dirt poor and couldn't afford to send him to university, so he shouldered student loans and scraped by with part-time jobs. He juggled classes and work, heading out early and dragging himself home late, pinching every single yuan until it screamed. Life was brutally tough. Until a rich second-generation heir moved into his dorm as a roommate. The roommate was fierce. Bad-tempered, petty, and loaded with young master syndrome. On his very first day, he bossed Tao Zhi around, making him wash his clothes, polish his shoes, attend classes in his place, and fetch his packages. ...And then handed him a thousand yuan as a hardship fee. Tao Zhi, who had just been inwardly griping about how over-the-top this new roommate was: Huh??? The little money-grubber's eyes lit up. - From that day on, Tao Zhi dutifully stepped up as the rich heir's little lackey. When the roommate ate, he passed the chopsticks. When he drank water, he twisted off the cap. When the roommate bullied someone... he hung back, using his own scrawny frame to prop up the scene. But he didn't quite nail the act and got chewed out for it. That night, he rushed to the library and crammed through over a dozen novels, studying up on how to play the haughty, overbearing lackey. One weekend. Tao Zhi had just returned from the library when he spotted an uninvited guest in the dorm. Dressed in a sharp suit, exuding a cold, imposing aura. The man stood before the roommate, wiping blood from his knuckles. His gleaming leather shoe ground Tao Zhi's god of wealth—his roommate—into the floor. "If I catch you stirring up trouble at school again, you're out." Tao Zhi was petrified. He stood there frozen, not daring to twitch. Only after the man left did he scramble over to help his roommate up. The roommate gritted his teeth, wiped the blood from his nose, and spat at Tao Zhi, word by word: "I order you to seduce my brother, toy with him, then dump him hard. Steal his company's trade secrets while you're at it. I'm seizing power—I want *him* gone!" Tao Zhi: "?" Huh? Tao Zhi's vision went black. Thinking back to the man's icy demeanor, he collapsed straight to the floor and jabbed a finger at himself. "M-Me?" ** Reading Guide: 1. Both pure, mutual first loves.
