Recently, due to a bug when splitting chapters, it was only possible to upload using whole numbers, which is why recent releases ended up with a higher chapter number than the actual chapter number. The chapters already uploaded and their respective novels can no longer be fixed unless we edit and re-upload them chapter by chapter(Chapters content are okay, just the number in the list is incorrect), but that would take a lot of time. Therefore, those uploaded in that way will remain as they are. The bug has been fixed(lasted 1 day), as seen with the recently uploaded novels, which can be split into parts and everything works as usual. From now on, all new content will be uploaded in correct order as before the bug happens. If time permits in the future, we may attempt to reorganize the previously affected chapters.

Chapter 15: Rent Part 1

Such a strange request?

After hearing Fu Si Heng’s words, Wei Yu pondered for a moment.

He wasn’t actually very close to Fu Zheng.

Setting aside that one time when Fu Zheng had gone to his newly opened bar on his own initiative to ask about Fu Si Heng, and the two of them sat and drank all night, they didn’t have much interaction otherwise.

They were just on nodding terms.

Suddenly inviting him to go skiing felt a bit awkward to bring up.

But just because it was awkward to mention didn’t mean it was hard to handle.

Fu Zheng was currently brewing his scheme with his own little calculations. Once he knew Fu Si Heng was going skiing, he would definitely want to tag along—no need to worry about that.

The tricky part was how to let him know.

Only by revealing it naturally and without forcing it would Fu Zheng take interest. Otherwise, a direct invitation would make him suspicious of the motive.

Wei Yu thought for a bit and soon came up with a plan. He no longer minded Fu Si Heng ditching him and readily agreed.

Not for any other reason.

He just really wanted to see the gossip between these Fu brothers.

Fu Si Heng usually refused to spill anything to him, so this rare opportunity handed over on a platter was impossible to turn down.

Purely for the spectacle, not afraid to stir the pot.

Far away in the school dorm, Fu Zheng sneezed.

But he didn’t pay it any mind.

Because he was thinking about Tao Zhi right now.

According to what he’d heard from his good bro who’d been scammed out of 178k in an online romance, the kind of photos he wanted Tao Zhi to take for Fu Si Heng weren’t like the ones now.

Instead, they were partial edge shots exposing collarbones, backs, shoulders, legs, and the like.

After exchanging photos to get familiar, they’d chat flirty nonsense, meet offline a few times, and before long, they’d lock in a relationship and trap Fu Si Heng.

That was the advice from 178k Bro.

And that’s exactly how 178k Bro had gotten scammed.

When Fu Zheng heard it back then, he thought from the bottom of his heart that the plan was solid, which was why he’d had Tao Zhi take those leg photos for Fu Si Heng.

In fact, it had worked.

The skirts Fu Si Heng sent were all high-end couture and runway pieces worth a fortune—way more than what 178k Bro would splurge. Next, they just needed to strike while the iron was hot.

But Fu Zheng hesitated.

When he’d seen Tao Zhi take photos that didn’t match his request and send them to Fu Si Heng, he hadn’t said a word to stop it.

If he really followed 178k Bro’s script, Fu Zheng felt more and more off about it, downright irritated.

“Fu Zheng, I’m done.”

Tao Zhi had no idea about Fu Zheng’s swirling thoughts. After sending the photos, he poked his head out from behind the bathroom door and blinked at Fu Zheng.

It was a very cute little expression.

Tao Zhi was always obedient and compliant, but his brain really couldn’t wrap around these brothers’ behavior.

He’d never dated, had no experience with girls, and just found Fu Zheng making him dress in women’s clothes for photos truly bizarre.

Fu Si Heng was weird too.

Sending all these expensive skirts just to see him model them? Why not hire a model? He hadn’t even shown his face, and Fu Si Heng hadn’t complained—instead, he’d said they looked pretty and suited him well.

Truly baffling.

But as long as he was satisfied, that was fine.

If he was satisfied, it meant Tao Zhi was doing his job well.

Tao Zhi couldn’t help feeling a bit smug.

His eyes sparkled as he looked at Fu Zheng, like he’d finally completed a grueling task and was waiting for praise.

Fu Zheng had zero interest in praising him and just gave a perfunctory grunt.

But when his gaze met Tao Zhi’s, Fu Zheng paused for a few seconds, pulled out his phone, and transferred three… no, a thousand yuan.

Mission accomplished.

The little money-grubber’s eyes curved into crescents upon receiving the money, beaming with joy.

“Thanks, Fu Zheng.” This time, Tao Zhi accepted it lightning-fast, without a shred of embarrassment.

This was the fruit of his hard labor!

Those skirts had been so hard to put on! He totally deserved that thousand yuan!

Tao Zhi was so happy he wanted to kiss his phone!

……

Hmph.

What shallow eyelids.

Thrilled over a mere thousand yuan.

Fu Zheng felt annoyed again.

But he didn’t take it out on Tao Zhi. Instead, he snatched the phone from Tao Zhi’s hand and forwarded the photo he’d just sent to Fu Si Heng to himself as well.

This would do for now.

It wasn’t completely without merit.

At least the photo looked pretty good.

Slender fingers rested at the chest, the knuckles bending into a soft curve that covered the flat, exposed V-neck that couldn’t quite fill it out. The neatly trimmed, clean fingertips showed a faint pink under the nails.

Fu Zheng couldn’t resist zooming in on the photo for a closer look.

There was no need to go full flirt mode.

Pure and innocent worked too.

What if Fu Si Heng was into that?

Besides, this photo… was actually pretty tempting.

Fu Zheng looked at it several more times and figured if this didn’t hook Fu Si Heng, then Fu Si Heng must have something wrong with his eyes.

Quit work and go see an eye doctor.

Fu Zheng sneered coldly, turned, and saved the photo to a password-protected album, leaving Tao Zhi to tilt his head in confusion at his back.

Ah? Me?

Ah? Me?

Tao Zhi had struggled immensely to make it from the countryside to the big city through sheer hard work on the exams. His family was dirt poor and couldn't afford to send him to university, so he shouldered student loans and scraped by with part-time jobs. He juggled classes and work, heading out early and dragging himself home late, pinching every single yuan until it screamed. Life was brutally tough. Until a rich second-generation heir moved into his dorm as a roommate. The roommate was fierce. Bad-tempered, petty, and loaded with young master syndrome. On his very first day, he bossed Tao Zhi around, making him wash his clothes, polish his shoes, attend classes in his place, and fetch his packages. ...And then handed him a thousand yuan as a hardship fee. Tao Zhi, who had just been inwardly griping about how over-the-top this new roommate was: Huh??? The little money-grubber's eyes lit up. - From that day on, Tao Zhi dutifully stepped up as the rich heir's little lackey. When the roommate ate, he passed the chopsticks. When he drank water, he twisted off the cap. When the roommate bullied someone... he hung back, using his own scrawny frame to prop up the scene. But he didn't quite nail the act and got chewed out for it. That night, he rushed to the library and crammed through over a dozen novels, studying up on how to play the haughty, overbearing lackey. One weekend. Tao Zhi had just returned from the library when he spotted an uninvited guest in the dorm. Dressed in a sharp suit, exuding a cold, imposing aura. The man stood before the roommate, wiping blood from his knuckles. His gleaming leather shoe ground Tao Zhi's god of wealth—his roommate—into the floor. "If I catch you stirring up trouble at school again, you're out." Tao Zhi was petrified. He stood there frozen, not daring to twitch. Only after the man left did he scramble over to help his roommate up. The roommate gritted his teeth, wiped the blood from his nose, and spat at Tao Zhi, word by word: "I order you to seduce my brother, toy with him, then dump him hard. Steal his company's trade secrets while you're at it. I'm seizing power—I want *him* gone!" Tao Zhi: "?" Huh? Tao Zhi's vision went black. Thinking back to the man's icy demeanor, he collapsed straight to the floor and jabbed a finger at himself. "M-Me?" ** Reading Guide: 1. Both pure, mutual first loves.
