Recently, due to a bug when splitting chapters, it was only possible to upload using whole numbers, which is why recent releases ended up with a higher chapter number than the actual chapter number. The chapters already uploaded and their respective novels can no longer be fixed unless we edit and re-upload them chapter by chapter(Chapters content are okay, just the number in the list is incorrect), but that would take a lot of time. Therefore, those uploaded in that way will remain as they are. The bug has been fixed(lasted 1 day), as seen with the recently uploaded novels, which can be split into parts and everything works as usual. From now on, all new content will be uploaded in correct order as before the bug happens. If time permits in the future, we may attempt to reorganize the previously affected chapters.

Chapter 2: Pure White Part 2

But this was her bro.

Her bro never lied…

“Alright then.” Assuming her brother had really met a good person, she steadied herself: “As long as he doesn’t bully you. Anyway, you’re studying away from home alone—take good care of yourself, don’t push too hard, got it?”

“And don’t send me so much money anymore! Eat properly!”

“Okay.” Her sisterly tone made Tao Zhi chuckle.

He agreed.

“Mm-hmm, got it. That’s it then—I’m off to evening study hall. Bye-bye.”

“Okay.”

After hanging up, Tao Zhi stared at the darkened phone screen and felt a warmth in his heart for no reason.

At least his sister’s issue was resolved.

So, for Tao Zhi, Fu Zheng’s appearance had solved at least 80% of his troubles.

…The other 20% was dealing with Fu Zheng’s bad temper on a daily basis—

No, no.

How could he badmouth his god of fortune like that? Fu Zheng was a good guy!

Tao Zhi shook his head vigorously, banishing the disloyal thoughts from his mind, and desperately boosted his loyalty to Fu Zheng +1 +1 +1.

He decided that even if Fu Zheng made excessive demands today, he wouldn’t grumble inwardly. Instead, he would enthusiastically and unconditionally agree to everything his benefactor boss asked!

Absolutely—!

Filled with gratitude for his golden boss, Tao Zhi returned to the dorm in high spirits.

Be enthusiastic with Fu Zheng, don’t talk back—Fu Zheng was his fortune god, his golden boss—

He mentally reviewed the dos and don’ts all the way back. But just as he reached the dorm door and was about to open it, a massive “bang” echoed from inside, stunning him.

Wh-What happened?

Was there a fight in the dorm? Between who and who?

Tao Zhi was completely dumbfounded. He froze at the door for a good while, his heart pounding.

As he hesitated about whether to go in and check, the guy from the dorm across opened his door and asked curiously, “What was that huge noise? What’s going on?”

“…I don’t know either.” Tao Zhi answered honestly.

“You got a key? Sounds like they might be fighting.” The guy said, “Should we call security to check it out?”

“?!”

No way!

Fighting on campus could get you disciplined!

“It’s f-fine! Probably just knocked something over by accident.” Tao Zhi wasn’t good at lying, so his cover for Fu Zheng came out stuttery and full of holes.

The guy across raised an eyebrow.

Tao Zhi pressed on doggedly: “It’s fine, I have the key. I’ll go in and check.”

With that, he unusually rudely pushed the guy back inside, shut the opposite door, and returned to his own.

He took a deep breath and turned the doorknob—

The scene inside shocked him.

Even more than a fight would have.

Before opening the door, he figured that if it was a fight, Fu Zheng would be the one beating someone else. He never imagined that Fu Zheng was the one beaten to the ground!

Tao Zhi’s pupils shook!

At that moment, his golden boss, his fortune god, his boss, was being mercilessly pinned to the floor.

A pair of pitch-black, sharply lined expensive leather shoes stepped on his boss’s back, gleaming with a cold light.

“Fu Zheng, you’ve really made something of yourself. A college student dragging people to a high school to bully a high school kid.”

The man’s voice was icy as he spoke, carrying a bone-chilling chill even in October.

Tao Zhi shuddered involuntarily at the door.

“Fu Si Heng, be reasonable.” Fu Zheng was defiant right now, gritting his teeth and struggling to get up: “He started it—”

“Shut up. I don’t want to hear any excuses.” The man cut Fu Zheng off.

And as Fu Zheng struggled, he pressed his shoe down harder.

Fu Zheng was crushed to the ground, unable to even lift his head.

“I’m here today for one thing only. I don’t care who you have beef with. If there’s one more complaint to me, you’re out.”

“Out means, if I’m in a good mood, you leave the country.”

“If I’m in a bad mood, I’ll have you suspended for half a year or a year and toss you into some rural backwater. Just one word from me.”

As he spoke, the man bent down and patted Fu Zheng’s face with the back of his hand: “Got it?”

Fu Zheng’s face was full of humiliation, his eyes burning with undisguised hatred.

“…Got it.” Defiant, but he gritted out the words one by one.

Tao Zhi was scared silly.

His mind went blank, but he was still professionally thinking that, oh, so this was the kind of move Fu Zheng wanted him to do—it really was pretty humiliating…

“And that little lackey of yours.” After warning Fu Zheng, the man looked up toward the door.

The pale-faced boy at the door was still standing there, frozen.

He was so shocked by the scene that his pupils were dilated, staring blankly, unable to react.

Only when Fu Si Heng’s gaze landed on him did his eyes finally focus.

Terrified and trembling, he stepped inside, closed the door, and stood against the wall, trying his best to minimize his presence.

Such a scaredy-cat.

…And he looked pretty small too.

His youthful face had delicate, petite features. Soft black hair obediently fell over his forehead, and with his head bowed, he inexplicably seemed very well-behaved.

The kind of person who, at a glance, gave off a clean, pure, and simple vibe.

After entering, he didn’t even dare lift his head. But under that gaze, he instinctively straightened his back, his neck tensing.

A bead of cold sweat slid down his neck.

It traced the line of his neck downward, disappearing into his collarbone.

Pure white.

His skin was white—dazzlingly so.

Even the sweat beads seemed to sparkle crystal clear.

Tao Zhi had struggled immensely to make it from the countryside to the big city through sheer hard work on the exams. His family was dirt poor and couldn't afford to send him to university, so he shouldered student loans and scraped by with part-time jobs. He juggled classes and work, heading out early and dragging himself home late, pinching every single yuan until it screamed. Life was brutally tough. Until a rich second-generation heir moved into his dorm as a roommate. The roommate was fierce. Bad-tempered, petty, and loaded with young master syndrome. On his very first day, he bossed Tao Zhi around, making him wash his clothes, polish his shoes, attend classes in his place, and fetch his packages. ...And then handed him a thousand yuan as a hardship fee. Tao Zhi, who had just been inwardly griping about how over-the-top this new roommate was: Huh??? The little money-grubber's eyes lit up. - From that day on, Tao Zhi dutifully stepped up as the rich heir's little lackey. When the roommate ate, he passed the chopsticks. When he drank water, he twisted off the cap. When the roommate bullied someone... he hung back, using his own scrawny frame to prop up the scene. But he didn't quite nail the act and got chewed out for it. That night, he rushed to the library and crammed through over a dozen novels, studying up on how to play the haughty, overbearing lackey. One weekend. Tao Zhi had just returned from the library when he spotted an uninvited guest in the dorm. Dressed in a sharp suit, exuding a cold, imposing aura. The man stood before the roommate, wiping blood from his knuckles. His gleaming leather shoe ground Tao Zhi's god of wealth—his roommate—into the floor. "If I catch you stirring up trouble at school again, you're out." Tao Zhi was petrified. He stood there frozen, not daring to twitch. Only after the man left did he scramble over to help his roommate up. The roommate gritted his teeth, wiped the blood from his nose, and spat at Tao Zhi, word by word: "I order you to seduce my brother, toy with him, then dump him hard. Steal his company's trade secrets while you're at it. I'm seizing power—I want *him* gone!" Tao Zhi: "?" Huh? Tao Zhi's vision went black. Thinking back to the man's icy demeanor, he collapsed straight to the floor and jabbed a finger at himself. "M-Me?" ** Reading Guide: 1. Both pure, mutual first loves.
