Recently, due to a bug when splitting chapters, it was only possible to upload using whole numbers, which is why recent releases ended up with a higher chapter number than the actual chapter number. The chapters already uploaded and their respective novels can no longer be fixed unless we edit and re-upload them chapter by chapter(Chapters content are okay, just the number in the list is incorrect), but that would take a lot of time. Therefore, those uploaded in that way will remain as they are. The bug has been fixed(lasted 1 day), as seen with the recently uploaded novels, which can be split into parts and everything works as usual. From now on, all new content will be uploaded in correct order as before the bug happens. If time permits in the future, we may attempt to reorganize the previously affected chapters.

Chapter 27: Cooking Noodles Part 2

It was ridiculous.

Even more ridiculous was how terrified he felt because of it.

Afraid of pregnancy, afraid of his true gender being discovered in bed, so he didn’t dare stay with him.

“Won’t you see me out?” Fu Si Heng saw Tao Zhi staring blankly without moving and prompted him.

Tao Zhi snapped back.

He shoved the messy thoughts from his mind and tried to act normal. “Okay.”

Fu Si Heng: “Mm.”

Just two steps to the door, and Tao Zhi saw Fu Si Heng out.

As he watched the man leave, his heart, which had been pounding wildly from fear, slowly settled.

But once it did, looking at the man’s back, he suddenly felt guilty.

Because Tao Zhi realized Fu Si Heng’s words weren’t wrong at all.

He just wanted to take responsibility for the girl.

That was actually responsible behavior.

Even in the feudal little village where he grew up, a kiss didn’t mean marriage, let alone for a wealthy family. The pace was fast, but… normal enough.

Fu Si Heng just wanted to be responsible for the girl.

It was he who felt guilty, afraid of his true identity being exposed, so those words scared him. Fu Si Heng was fine.

With that thought, Tao Zhi felt ashamed.

He hesitated for a moment, then suddenly called out to Fu Si Heng, who was leaving.

Fu Si Heng turned.

“Sorry, Fu Ge, I…” Tao Zhi scratched his nose, convinced himself again, and said softly, “I’ll sleep a bit more later. Once I’m rested, I’ll come find you, okay?”

Such a sincere voice.

The innocent college boy spoke with an unintentional tone of explanation and soothing, his eyes earnestly conveying friendliness.

He probably wanted to say: I’m not deliberately avoiding you or toying with you; I’m just a bit tired.

Please believe me.

Though he felt a bit guilty and his gaze dodged slightly, he still tried to show friendliness.

How obedient.

In comparison, Fu Si Heng felt like a beast in human clothing, utterly shameless, morals in the gutter.

Bullying such a poor little cute rabbit.

“…”

But he wanted to bully him more.

Wanted to do all sorts of excessive things to Tao Zhi.

“Mm.” Fu Si Heng suppressed the urge to go back and kiss him, squeezing out a neutral sound from his throat, and closed the door himself.

Before closing it, Tao Zhi heard him say, “Rest well.”

“I’ll wait for you to come find me on your own.”

Though Tao Zhi felt Fu Si Heng was innocent and he was the one who let him down, terribly sorry,

It didn’t stop him from completely relaxing with a sigh of relief the moment Fu Si Heng left. He flopped onto the bed, rolled around in the covers, wrapped himself up tight, and stared blankly toward the window.

Sigh, what the hell was all this? How did things turn into such a mess?

Tao Zhi was bewildered and felt the path ahead was pitch black.

Going forward might mean marrying Fu Si Heng and having kids.

Retreating… who knew if Fu Zheng would take all the money back if he quit.

Such a tough choice.

Tao Zhi’s mood was heavy. He sighed gloomily and buried half his face in the bedding.

He really hoped to wake up and have all the troubles solved.

Tao Zhi prayed sincerely.

He woke up again three hours later.

One in the afternoon. Tao Zhi groggily opened his eyes and first reached under the pillow for his phone.

So many messages.

Good thing he’d turned on Do Not Disturb before sleeping, or he wouldn’t have slept so soundly.

His WeChat was packed, mostly from Fu Zheng, a few from Fu Si Heng.

Tao Zhi skimmed them.

An hour after kicking Fu Zheng out, Fu Zheng messaged asking if he was awake. Several in a row, and when no reply, he vented with a bunch of random emojis, called him a pig for sleeping so much, and trashed Fu Si Heng for wearing him out into a pig.

The last one was from an hour ago: Fu Zheng said he was starving to death and told Tao Zhi to get up quick and eat with him, or he’d go without.

Tao Zhi: “…”

He stared at the messages in a daze for a bit.

So… that was an hour ago. Fu Zheng must have eaten already, right?

With how aggressive and urgent Fu Zheng was—”starving to death”—Tao Zhi figured he wouldn’t wait.

He paused a few seconds and typed: [I just woke up now. I’ll eat on my own later, no need to worry about me ^-^]

After sending, he waited half a minute.

No reply from Fu Zheng; probably busy.

He checked Fu Si Heng’s messages.

Compared to the black-hearted boss’s barrage, Fu Si Heng’s were simple: asking if he was awake, it was noon, want to eat first?

No reply, so a few minutes later: rest well.

Mm.

Reminded twice about eating, Tao Zhi’s stomach suddenly growled several times belatedly.

Yeah, time to eat; it was already one-thirty.

Tao Zhi rubbed his belly, replied to Fu Si Heng, threw off the covers, and got up.

With their interruptions, the bewilderment from before sleep and anxiety about the future had mostly dissipated. Though… no troubles were solved, at least it wasn’t ruining his mood anymore.

After getting up, Tao Zhi washed his face in the bathroom, changed into women’s clothes, and left the room.

The villa was quiet today.

Most people were at the ski resort; Fu Zheng and Fu Si Heng were probably eating at the hotel. Tao Zhi went downstairs and only saw two cleaning staff in the hall.

He greeted them politely, then headed to the kitchen.

Though the vacation was only three days and most meals were at the hotel a few kilometers away, the fridge was still fully stocked with fresh fruits, veggies, everything for a big meal.

But eating alone, no need for fuss.

Tao Zhi found noodles and eggs to make do. As he boiled the water, two thuds came from behind.

Ah? Me?

Ah? Me?

Tao Zhi had struggled immensely to make it from the countryside to the big city through sheer hard work on the exams. His family was dirt poor and couldn't afford to send him to university, so he shouldered student loans and scraped by with part-time jobs. He juggled classes and work, heading out early and dragging himself home late, pinching every single yuan until it screamed. Life was brutally tough. Until a rich second-generation heir moved into his dorm as a roommate. The roommate was fierce. Bad-tempered, petty, and loaded with young master syndrome. On his very first day, he bossed Tao Zhi around, making him wash his clothes, polish his shoes, attend classes in his place, and fetch his packages. ...And then handed him a thousand yuan as a hardship fee. Tao Zhi, who had just been inwardly griping about how over-the-top this new roommate was: Huh??? The little money-grubber's eyes lit up. - From that day on, Tao Zhi dutifully stepped up as the rich heir's little lackey. When the roommate ate, he passed the chopsticks. When he drank water, he twisted off the cap. When the roommate bullied someone... he hung back, using his own scrawny frame to prop up the scene. But he didn't quite nail the act and got chewed out for it. That night, he rushed to the library and crammed through over a dozen novels, studying up on how to play the haughty, overbearing lackey. One weekend. Tao Zhi had just returned from the library when he spotted an uninvited guest in the dorm. Dressed in a sharp suit, exuding a cold, imposing aura. The man stood before the roommate, wiping blood from his knuckles. His gleaming leather shoe ground Tao Zhi's god of wealth—his roommate—into the floor. "If I catch you stirring up trouble at school again, you're out." Tao Zhi was petrified. He stood there frozen, not daring to twitch. Only after the man left did he scramble over to help his roommate up. The roommate gritted his teeth, wiped the blood from his nose, and spat at Tao Zhi, word by word: "I order you to seduce my brother, toy with him, then dump him hard. Steal his company's trade secrets while you're at it. I'm seizing power—I want *him* gone!" Tao Zhi: "?" Huh? Tao Zhi's vision went black. Thinking back to the man's icy demeanor, he collapsed straight to the floor and jabbed a finger at himself. "M-Me?" ** Reading Guide: 1. Both pure, mutual first loves.
