Recently, due to a bug when splitting chapters, it was only possible to upload using whole numbers, which is why recent releases ended up with a higher chapter number than the actual chapter number. The chapters already uploaded and their respective novels can no longer be fixed unless we edit and re-upload them chapter by chapter(Chapters content are okay, just the number in the list is incorrect), but that would take a lot of time. Therefore, those uploaded in that way will remain as they are. The bug has been fixed(lasted 1 day), as seen with the recently uploaded novels, which can be split into parts and everything works as usual. From now on, all new content will be uploaded in correct order as before the bug happens. If time permits in the future, we may attempt to reorganize the previously affected chapters.

Chapter 28: Discussion Part 2

“Mian Mian, who am I?”

“Ha.” At this nickname, Fu Zheng couldn’t help but sneer.

Idiot.

An idiot who didn’t even know his real name.

Fu Zheng felt like he had gained an edge over Fu Si Heng in their competition.

It felt great.

“Mian Mian”: “…”

Don’t ask me! Why drag me into this!

Tao Zhi’s head throbbed.

“Please don’t fight anymore…” He braced himself to mediate.

Though he really didn’t want to get involved in their brotherly affairs, Tao Zhi knew clearly that if they kept sniping at each other, no one would eat today.

He was really hungry.

Tao Zhi timidly raised his right hand, like a elementary schooler answering a question in class, and proactively suggested: “How about I do it? Boiling noodles is quick.”

In the end, the villa staff came to boil the noodles.

Tao Zhi and Fu Si Heng ate noodles, while Fu Zheng, who didn’t like noodles, had instant dumplings cooked separately.

But even after they were cooked, he still didn’t like them. He frowned, his expression picky, occasionally glancing at Tao Zhi.

“…”

Tao Zhi pretended not to notice his gaze and quietly ate his noodles with his head down.

Fu Si Heng ignored Fu Zheng completely, treating the person beside him as nonexistent, only occasionally lifting his eyes to look at Tao Zhi across from him.

Tao Zhi’s eating was very pleasing to the eye.

He ate seriously, fingers resting on the bowl’s edge, picking up noodles with chopsticks and bringing small bites to his mouth. His upper and lower lips brushed the chopsticks, his long lashes casting fine shadows under the light.

“I’m done eating.”

Tao Zhi suddenly placed his chopsticks on the table with a “clack,” drawing the attention of both men across from him.

“So fast?” Fu Zheng was the first to voice his dissatisfaction, frowning again.

“Mm-hmm.” Tao Zhi nodded repeatedly.

It wasn’t fast just because he wasn’t dawdling and checking his phone while eating. He definitely wasn’t eating quickly on purpose to leave first.

“Then I’ll head out first?” Tao Zhi was a very honest and simple college student who couldn’t disguise himself and was very naive. Whatever was on his mind showed almost entirely on his face, impossible to hide from the two men in front of him.

Especially a certain old man.

His tone was light when he spoke, but he was actually quite nervous, his fingers curling involuntarily under their gazes.

Unexpectedly, both Fu Si Heng and Fu Zheng said “Okay” at the same time.

Neither found Tao Zhi’s attempt to leave early rude. They both thought it was because the other was present, making Tao Zhi uncomfortable and want to go.

They had no issue with Tao Zhi; instead, they disliked the other even more.

Unaware of the twists in their minds, the simple and naive male college student tentatively took two steps forward. Seeing no one stopped him, he breathed a sigh of relief and quickly hurried away.

The world was finally quiet.

He was no longer caught in their opposing auras.

…For a brief moment.

Back in his room, he played with his phone absentmindedly. Half an hour later, he received a message from Fu Si Heng.

Fu Si Heng: 【Didn’t you say you’d come find me after waking up?】

Tao Zhi: “…”

Fu Si Heng: 【I’m in the media room on the fourth floor.】

Tao Zhi: “…”

Fine, he had indeed said that.

The little peach from the mountains was honest and simple, never considering that words spoken could be taken back, or that flaking didn’t matter, or that excuses like “I’m tired” could be used.

His good character and sense of morality made him keep his word. Even though his heart was uneasy, he still chose to go upstairs to find Fu Si Heng.

On the fourth floor, the room farthest to the right. After lightly knocking twice, Tao Zhi pressed down the door handle.

He was quite nervous, not knowing what Fu Si Heng wanted with him.

After the door opened, the media room was pitch black except for the light from the projector in front. Fu Si Heng hadn’t turned on any other lights.

“You’re here.” Hearing the door open, Fu Si Heng looked up. Seeing Tao Zhi still standing at the door without moving, he said, “Close the door and come over.”

“…Okay.” Tao Zhi obeyed.

He turned to close the door, then walked over and sat beside Fu Si Heng.

As soon as his butt touched the sofa, Tao Zhi’s expression hesitated for a moment.

Hmm.

He no longer needed to flirt with Fu Si Heng.

…He was now more afraid of Fu Si Heng flirting with him.

So, there was no need to sit so close.

Tao Zhi shifted to the side, slightly increasing the distance between them.

Sigh.

He sighed inwardly again.

At this moment, he finally understood what “what goes around comes around” meant, and he could empathize with Fu Si Heng’s reluctance to pay attention to him at the club.

Tao Zhi sat up straight, full of vigilance.

“Any movie you want to watch?” Fu Si Heng noticed Tao Zhi’s movements and his expressive face but said nothing for now. He picked up the prepared popcorn and handed it over.

Tao Zhi subconsciously took it: “I’m fine with anything.”

He paused: “Thank you.”

“Alright.” Fu Si Heng played a romance movie.

A youthful campus romance.

When he realized it, Tao Zhi turned to look at Fu Si Heng, wondering if there was some special intent, staying vigilant for a while.

But Fu Si Heng did nothing.

Ah? Me?

Ah? Me?

Tao Zhi had struggled immensely to make it from the countryside to the big city through sheer hard work on the exams. His family was dirt poor and couldn't afford to send him to university, so he shouldered student loans and scraped by with part-time jobs. He juggled classes and work, heading out early and dragging himself home late, pinching every single yuan until it screamed. Life was brutally tough. Until a rich second-generation heir moved into his dorm as a roommate. The roommate was fierce. Bad-tempered, petty, and loaded with young master syndrome. On his very first day, he bossed Tao Zhi around, making him wash his clothes, polish his shoes, attend classes in his place, and fetch his packages. ...And then handed him a thousand yuan as a hardship fee. Tao Zhi, who had just been inwardly griping about how over-the-top this new roommate was: Huh??? The little money-grubber's eyes lit up. - From that day on, Tao Zhi dutifully stepped up as the rich heir's little lackey. When the roommate ate, he passed the chopsticks. When he drank water, he twisted off the cap. When the roommate bullied someone... he hung back, using his own scrawny frame to prop up the scene. But he didn't quite nail the act and got chewed out for it. That night, he rushed to the library and crammed through over a dozen novels, studying up on how to play the haughty, overbearing lackey. One weekend. Tao Zhi had just returned from the library when he spotted an uninvited guest in the dorm. Dressed in a sharp suit, exuding a cold, imposing aura. The man stood before the roommate, wiping blood from his knuckles. His gleaming leather shoe ground Tao Zhi's god of wealth—his roommate—into the floor. "If I catch you stirring up trouble at school again, you're out." Tao Zhi was petrified. He stood there frozen, not daring to twitch. Only after the man left did he scramble over to help his roommate up. The roommate gritted his teeth, wiped the blood from his nose, and spat at Tao Zhi, word by word: "I order you to seduce my brother, toy with him, then dump him hard. Steal his company's trade secrets while you're at it. I'm seizing power—I want *him* gone!" Tao Zhi: "?" Huh? Tao Zhi's vision went black. Thinking back to the man's icy demeanor, he collapsed straight to the floor and jabbed a finger at himself. "M-Me?" ** Reading Guide: 1. Both pure, mutual first loves.
