Recently, due to a bug when splitting chapters, it was only possible to upload using whole numbers, which is why recent releases ended up with a higher chapter number than the actual chapter number. The chapters already uploaded and their respective novels can no longer be fixed unless we edit and re-upload them chapter by chapter(Chapters content are okay, just the number in the list is incorrect), but that would take a lot of time. Therefore, those uploaded in that way will remain as they are. The bug has been fixed(lasted 1 day), as seen with the recently uploaded novels, which can be split into parts and everything works as usual. From now on, all new content will be uploaded in correct order as before the bug happens. If time permits in the future, we may attempt to reorganize the previously affected chapters.

Chapter 32: Stunned Part 3

With Fu Zheng’s personality, he wouldn’t accommodate him at all.

He’d just say he couldn’t wait and demand it immediately.

Tao Zhi truly lacked the energy; studying was his top priority.

He could only keep it under wraps for now.

As for Fu Si Heng…

The day they returned from the villa, Fu Si Heng messaged that he’d arrived in S City.

After that, Fu Si Heng sent several more messages, but Tao Zhi replied slowly due to busyness, and eventually, contact dwindled.

Hearing Fu Zheng bring it up now reminded Tao Zhi of him.

Indeed, it had been a while.

He replied, “Nope—”

“Probably not. I heard Fu Si Heng went on another business trip.”

Their voices overlapped.

Tao Zhi blinked.

“Is that so.” It took him several seconds to speak.

Fu Zheng hummed.

Fu Zheng had wanted to talk to him since Tao Zhi flopped down but didn’t know what to say. After stewing, this was all he came up with.

After saying it, he didn’t know what else to say. They sat in wordless silence for a while until Tao Zhi slowly flopped back down.

The phone clutched in his palm suddenly lit up.

He didn’t know what was up tonight.

Think of something, and it appeared.

Speak of someone, and they messaged.

They’d just mentioned Fu Si Heng when his message arrived—like he’d been bugged.

Tao Zhi imaginatively lifted his head and looked around.

Seeing no suspicious red flashing lights, he checked WeChat.

Fu Si Heng: 【Are you free to meet this Saturday or Sunday?】

Tao Zhi: “…?”

He frowned in confusion and typed: 【Saturday or Sunday?】

Fu Si Heng: 【Saturday and Sunday, both days.】

Tao Zhi stared at the message, expression blank.

…So much free time?

But hadn’t Fu Zheng just said Fu Si Heng was super busy, out of town, no time even for his mom?

Tao Zhi looked up at Fu Zheng again and called out to him.

Fu Zheng was still racking his brain.

Hearing Tao Zhi suddenly speak, he straightened up inexplicably. “?”

“What’s up?”

“Did you say your brother has been busy lately? Is that true?” Tao Zhi asked sincerely.

“Of course.” Fu Zheng answered without hesitation.

Though he didn’t know why Tao Zhi asked specifically, he was confident. “Guaranteed. He skipped a family gathering; Wei Yu said he’s out of town.”

“My mom came back from a trip to France this Monday, staying only until next Tuesday before flying to Iceland for the aurora. She wanted to see Fu Si Heng during this time, but he had no availability.”

I-is that so?

Tao Zhi felt a bit dazed.

He glanced at Fu Zheng, then at his phone.

“Oh—” He drew it out long. Tao Zhi scratched his head and looked down again.

Fu Zheng: “?”

Tao Zhi turned down Fu Si Heng.

First, the whole weekend was too long; he didn’t have that much free time.

Second… after Fu Zheng said no progress was needed, Tao Zhi lost the drive to “work.”

He felt lazy, didn’t want to be kissed.

Kissing took real courage for a straight guy.

So he refused.

He said he was swamped, no time until after finals. Fu Si Heng said he understood and didn’t push.

Surprisingly easy to brush off.

The next day, Saturday.

Tao Zhi got up promptly at seven in the morning.

Fu Zheng was still asleep.

Tao Zhi had planned to head straight to the library, but then he thought: lately, he hadn’t done much work, too busy with his own stuff to tend to Fu Zheng. Yesterday, Fu Zheng had even washed his own clothes.

That wasn’t right.

Very unprofessional.

Especially since Fu Zheng was moody; what if he fired him on a whim one day? Tao Zhi decided to be extra diligent today.

Specifically, he went to Fu Zheng’s favorite breakfast spot to buy him breakfast.

It was quite a trek—out the school gate and another seven or eight hundred meters.

Luckily, the weather was nice, a rare warm sun in winter. Tao Zhi wrapped in his scarf, waddling through the snow like a penguin, slowly making his way.

As he passed a black car, it suddenly honked.

Tao Zhi instinctively turned and stopped.

Who was it?

He turned his head in confusion.

From the Maybach behind him, a man got out of the driver’s seat—someone Tao Zhi didn’t recognize.

But soon, the man walked to the back seat and respectfully opened the door.

Fu Si Heng’s figure appeared in Tao Zhi’s vision.

Tao Zhi: “???”

Ah?!

Tao Zhi froze.

He stared blankly as Fu Si Heng walked toward him.

The over-190cm man had a tall, upright figure, long legs, and an expression… slightly cold?

Ah… what was going on? Was it because he’d refused yesterday and Fu Si Heng was mad?

Tao Zhi tilted his head slightly, looking at him.

When Fu Si Heng stopped in front of him, he finally opened his mouth.

His pink lips parted and met. “Fu-ge?”

How did you get here—

“Fu-ge?” Hearing the address, Fu Si Heng sounded puzzled. “You know me?”

“Huh?”

What did that mean?

Tao Zhi froze, expression blank, unable to comprehend the situation. His brows furrowed deeper than Fu Si Heng’s.

He didn’t understand why Fu Si Heng wouldn’t recognize him.

Both wore equally puzzled expressions—

Moments later, Tao Zhi’s pupils dilated as he gasped. “N-no, no, I don’t know you, I-I-I…”

He stammered “I” for ages.

“Mm, I know you.” Fu Si Heng’s expression remained cool as he deliberately teased his “little girlfriend.” “Fu Zheng’s roommate.”

“I’ve looked into everyone around Fu Zheng in advance. Knowing you isn’t strange.”

The waiting assistant nearby: “…”

You’ve never cared about the second young master at all.

“But I’m curious.” Fu Si Heng lowered his gaze, eyes lingering on Tao Zhi’s face. “How do you know me?”

Tao Zhi: “…”

Tao Zhi was stunned.

Ah? Me?

Ah? Me?

Tao Zhi had struggled immensely to make it from the countryside to the big city through sheer hard work on the exams. His family was dirt poor and couldn't afford to send him to university, so he shouldered student loans and scraped by with part-time jobs. He juggled classes and work, heading out early and dragging himself home late, pinching every single yuan until it screamed. Life was brutally tough. Until a rich second-generation heir moved into his dorm as a roommate. The roommate was fierce. Bad-tempered, petty, and loaded with young master syndrome. On his very first day, he bossed Tao Zhi around, making him wash his clothes, polish his shoes, attend classes in his place, and fetch his packages. ...And then handed him a thousand yuan as a hardship fee. Tao Zhi, who had just been inwardly griping about how over-the-top this new roommate was: Huh??? The little money-grubber's eyes lit up. - From that day on, Tao Zhi dutifully stepped up as the rich heir's little lackey. When the roommate ate, he passed the chopsticks. When he drank water, he twisted off the cap. When the roommate bullied someone... he hung back, using his own scrawny frame to prop up the scene. But he didn't quite nail the act and got chewed out for it. That night, he rushed to the library and crammed through over a dozen novels, studying up on how to play the haughty, overbearing lackey. One weekend. Tao Zhi had just returned from the library when he spotted an uninvited guest in the dorm. Dressed in a sharp suit, exuding a cold, imposing aura. The man stood before the roommate, wiping blood from his knuckles. His gleaming leather shoe ground Tao Zhi's god of wealth—his roommate—into the floor. "If I catch you stirring up trouble at school again, you're out." Tao Zhi was petrified. He stood there frozen, not daring to twitch. Only after the man left did he scramble over to help his roommate up. The roommate gritted his teeth, wiped the blood from his nose, and spat at Tao Zhi, word by word: "I order you to seduce my brother, toy with him, then dump him hard. Steal his company's trade secrets while you're at it. I'm seizing power—I want *him* gone!" Tao Zhi: "?" Huh? Tao Zhi's vision went black. Thinking back to the man's icy demeanor, he collapsed straight to the floor and jabbed a finger at himself. "M-Me?" ** Reading Guide: 1. Both pure, mutual first loves.
