Recently, due to a bug when splitting chapters, it was only possible to upload using whole numbers, which is why recent releases ended up with a higher chapter number than the actual chapter number. The chapters already uploaded and their respective novels can no longer be fixed unless we edit and re-upload them chapter by chapter(Chapters content are okay, just the number in the list is incorrect), but that would take a lot of time. Therefore, those uploaded in that way will remain as they are. The bug has been fixed(lasted 1 day), as seen with the recently uploaded novels, which can be split into parts and everything works as usual. From now on, all new content will be uploaded in correct order as before the bug happens. If time permits in the future, we may attempt to reorganize the previously affected chapters.

Chapter 42: Probably Part 1

Fu Si Heng found Wei Yu annoying.

He saw Wei Yu constantly craning his neck over to peek at his phone, staring with that complicated, half-said expression. It was very irritating.

Fu Si Heng had no intention of paying him any attention and simply got up to leave.

“What’s that about?” Wei Yu followed.

He was used to being treated this way and didn’t think much of it. He still shamelessly trailed behind Fu Si Heng, pressing, “What kind of hardship could there be?”

Fu Si Heng ignored him.

Wei Yu persisted relentlessly. “Come on, just tell me. How am I supposed to know if you don’t say? Your words are so weird, you know that?”

“Wait a second, don’t tell me—” The words had barely left his mouth when Wei Yu paused, his face instantly turning horrified. “You made up that hardship stuff, right? You’re not actually into him, are you? You really got together?”

If they had really gotten together, then giving money made sense. Boyfriends did that sort of thing.

But how had they actually gotten together?

Wei Yu said, “I thought you were just messing around.”

Back at the club, when Fu Si Heng learned the truth but didn’t expose it, Wei Yu had genuinely believed his line about “wanting to see what waves a fool and an idiot could stir up.”

That was why he had been so curious for gossip and actively planned the New Year’s trip.

During New Year’s, he had indeed sensed something off and teased Fu Si Heng about being lovesick, scheming in romance—but it was just teasing.

Teasing that Fu Si Heng’s old flame had reignited, a joke, said on purpose.

Had it come true?

No way.

He knew Tao Zhi was Fu Zheng’s guy, that Fu Zheng had schemes—yet he still went for it?

Wei Yu wondered if he was overthinking. It was just two hundred thousand anyway; Fu Si Heng had tossed it over casually—money wasn’t an issue—

“Who said I was messing around?” Fu Si Heng stopped in his tracks right after Wei Yu said that.

He turned around, expressionless, and told Wei Yu, “I like him. Spending money on him is perfectly normal.”

“Have you ever skimped on spending on your girlfriend? Quit your yapping.”

Wei Yu: “?”

“No,” Wei Yu said. “Can you even compare to me? That’s my girlfriend.”

Fu Si Heng: “He’s my boyfriend too.”

Wei Yu: “…”

Look at that smug face of yours.

Wasn’t this the moment you called him an idiot and a fool?

Wei Yu’s gaze grew even more complicated. He felt like he had missed a ton of episodes.

“How’d you suddenly fall for him?” Wei Yu couldn’t help but ask.

“Not sudden.” Fu Si Heng’s expression didn’t change, his tone as casual as discussing dinner. “Just human nature.”

Wei Yu: “?”

The words baffled Wei Yu even more, but Fu Si Heng truly believed it.

Falling for Tao Zhi, his surrender—it was entirely reasonable.

It was a perfectly normal, everyday thing. After all, no one could resist three months of seduction.

That’s right, three whole months.

High-frequency tempting cross-dressing photos, online flirting for over a month, calling him “Brother Fu” in that intimate, ambiguous way, proactively sitting on his lap—innocent yet bold.

Everything Tao Zhi did was a reason for his fall. No one could withstand it.

At first, Fu Si Heng thought Tao Zhi’s tactics were clumsy, but that clumsiness revealed cuteness.

He liked it a lot.

It matched his tastes—obedient and adorable personality.

Falling for him was just a matter of time.

Anyone who met him would fall.

Nothing shocking about it.

“But he’s your brother’s guy. Don’t tell me I need to remind you what your brother’s up to,” Wei Yu tried to make him face reality.

That line irked Fu Si Heng. He frowned. “He’ll be mine.”

“Listening to Fu Zheng is because he had no choice, some unavoidable hardship.”

“…” Hardship again.

Wei Yu wanted to say more, but Fu Si Heng cut him off before he could. “Enough. Shut up.”

Fu Si Heng didn’t need anyone advising him on his affairs.

6.

Wei Yu’s expression twisted.

After receiving the transfer, Tao Zhi went downstairs.

The argument downstairs was loud. Tao Tao had wanted to follow but stopped halfway.

She usually seemed fierce and unapproachable, like she could protect herself, but she had truly been scared by Third Uncle’s words last year.

With a hesitant expression, she grabbed Tao Zhi’s arm, urging him not to go.

Tao Zhi didn’t listen. He patted his sister’s head and went downstairs to handle it.

The fact that he could come up with two hundred thousand shocked everyone present.

Third Uncle’s side was fine; they were happy to get the money. After questioning him a bit and lecturing him not to go astray, they left with smiles.

But his parents weren’t so easily fooled.

Tao Zhi had no choice but to tell the truth: the money was borrowed from a friend. He even showed them his chat with Fu Zheng, which indeed had his request for a loan.

Tao Zhi had originally asked Fu Zheng for the money.

Because he had thought it through seriously: Fu Zheng wouldn’t package him off to Fu Si Heng’s bed knowing he was a guy.

After all, they were in the same boat. If something happened to him… Fu Zheng couldn’t escape.

They’d both get beaten.

So Fu Zheng wouldn’t do that.

With that in mind, Tao Zhi felt much more at ease and dared to take his money.

Before asking, Tao Zhi had even mentally prepared himself to be Fu Zheng’s slave.

But Fu Zheng never replied.

In the chat, besides his loan request, there were several missed voice calls. Tao Zhi had no idea when Fu Zheng had called.

Five of them, all unanswered, and then Fu Zheng vanished.

Tao Zhi’s desire to settle the family debt had been intense then. With no other options, he called Fu Si Heng.

After it was over, Tao Zhi sat on his bed in a daze for a long time.

A bit regretful—it had been impulsive in the heat of the moment—but what was done was done.

Tao Zhi tallied up all the money he had left: scattered bits totaling less than ten thousand.

He scratched his head, kept two thousand for himself, and transferred the rest to Fu Si Heng.

Fu Si Heng: 【?】

Tao Zhi: 【Repaying part first, okay? I’ll pay back the rest soon.】

Fu Si Heng: 【Soon?】

Tao Zhi pursed his lips and typed: 【Yeah.】

Fu Si Heng: 【Your ‘soon’ doesn’t mean waiting for Fu Zheng to reply, borrowing from him to pay me back, and then owing him instead, right?】

Tao Zhi: “?”

Ah…

How did Fu Si Heng know?

Tao Zhi froze.

He stared at the message on his screen, mouth agape, taking a while to react.

Ah? Me?

Ah? Me?

Tao Zhi had struggled immensely to make it from the countryside to the big city through sheer hard work on the exams. His family was dirt poor and couldn't afford to send him to university, so he shouldered student loans and scraped by with part-time jobs. He juggled classes and work, heading out early and dragging himself home late, pinching every single yuan until it screamed. Life was brutally tough. Until a rich second-generation heir moved into his dorm as a roommate. The roommate was fierce. Bad-tempered, petty, and loaded with young master syndrome. On his very first day, he bossed Tao Zhi around, making him wash his clothes, polish his shoes, attend classes in his place, and fetch his packages. ...And then handed him a thousand yuan as a hardship fee. Tao Zhi, who had just been inwardly griping about how over-the-top this new roommate was: Huh??? The little money-grubber's eyes lit up. - From that day on, Tao Zhi dutifully stepped up as the rich heir's little lackey. When the roommate ate, he passed the chopsticks. When he drank water, he twisted off the cap. When the roommate bullied someone... he hung back, using his own scrawny frame to prop up the scene. But he didn't quite nail the act and got chewed out for it. That night, he rushed to the library and crammed through over a dozen novels, studying up on how to play the haughty, overbearing lackey. One weekend. Tao Zhi had just returned from the library when he spotted an uninvited guest in the dorm. Dressed in a sharp suit, exuding a cold, imposing aura. The man stood before the roommate, wiping blood from his knuckles. His gleaming leather shoe ground Tao Zhi's god of wealth—his roommate—into the floor. "If I catch you stirring up trouble at school again, you're out." Tao Zhi was petrified. He stood there frozen, not daring to twitch. Only after the man left did he scramble over to help his roommate up. The roommate gritted his teeth, wiped the blood from his nose, and spat at Tao Zhi, word by word: "I order you to seduce my brother, toy with him, then dump him hard. Steal his company's trade secrets while you're at it. I'm seizing power—I want *him* gone!" Tao Zhi: "?" Huh? Tao Zhi's vision went black. Thinking back to the man's icy demeanor, he collapsed straight to the floor and jabbed a finger at himself. "M-Me?" ** Reading Guide: 1. Both pure, mutual first loves.
