Recently, due to a bug when splitting chapters, it was only possible to upload using whole numbers, which is why recent releases ended up with a higher chapter number than the actual chapter number. The chapters already uploaded and their respective novels can no longer be fixed unless we edit and re-upload them chapter by chapter(Chapters content are okay, just the number in the list is incorrect), but that would take a lot of time. Therefore, those uploaded in that way will remain as they are. The bug has been fixed(lasted 1 day), as seen with the recently uploaded novels, which can be split into parts and everything works as usual. From now on, all new content will be uploaded in correct order as before the bug happens. If time permits in the future, we may attempt to reorganize the previously affected chapters.

Chapter 5: Out of Control Part 2

Unwilling to accept it, He Siheng asked, “But it’s just ‘might,’ right? What if we up the dose—like double or triple what others take?”

“Increasing the dose can help, but how much is unpredictable. The best way is to find a same-rank Alpha whose pheromones match yours for a temporary mark or lifetime mark.”

The more the doctor said, the more He Siheng’s heart sank.

In his despair, he heard, “You’re lucky—your friend is an S-Rank Alpha. If it’s convenient, he could get a blood test now for Pheromone Matching Degree…”

“Inconvenient!”

He Siheng cut him off immediately. “We’re not friends.”

The doctor paused and looked at Tan Jing, who stood indifferently from the chair. “I’ll go get the blood drawn.”

Hearing this, He Siheng nearly yanked out his IV in panic. “Like hell you will. Even if it kills me, I won’t let you mark me.”

Tan Jing paused mid-step and looked back, tugging his lips. “You’re overthinking. I’m just curious how low our Pheromone Matching Degree can be.”

He Siheng blinked. “What?”

Tan Jing: “So you’ll give up completely and not come crawling to me during your heat.”

He Siheng: “…”

This bastard—must’ve eaten a ton of bamboo shoots this year to be so sharp-tongued.

Thirty minutes later, the Pheromone Matching Degree results came back.

He Siheng stared at the 100% Pheromone Matching Degree on the report in awkward silence.

An S-Rank Alpha—one-in-a-million chance. An even rarer S-Rank Omega. And a 100% Pheromone Matching Degree, rarer still. Heaven was clearly telling him to wash his neck and offer it up to Tan Jing.

The atmosphere was too awkward. The doctor chuckled dryly. “Why don’t you two discuss it?”

He Siheng woodenly crumpled the paper report and tossed it in the trash. “Just give me a bunch more suppressants.”

Even if he turned into a pincushion, he wouldn’t let Tan Jing bite him.

The hospital visit took several hours. By nearly ten at night, He Siheng finally got home.

Omegas were rare and fragile in modern society, especially S-Rank ones—they received state protection. Before leaving the hospital, the doctor had specifically reminded him that since his differentiation was complete, he needed to register and update his personal data to change his gender to Omega for legal protection.

He Siheng walked in the door and bumped into He Yunlang coming downstairs. He got an earful: “So late? Were you at the internet cafe slacking off again, you punk?”

Struck by the compatibility results, He Siheng listlessly replied, “Nah, had dinner with Wanwan Sis.”

He Siheng couldn’t hide things—his crush on Tan Wan had been no secret in the He family since childhood.

He Yunlang clashed with Tan Cong, but he admired Tan Wan and was happy for He Siheng to chase her. Marrying a Tan daughter into the He family? That was a win.

Too bad Tan Wan had differentiated into an Alpha.

Thinking of this, He Yunlang’s gaze held pity. “Son, don’t mind your old man nagging—two Alphas can’t be together.”

He sighed. “Blame me, though. Why’d I have to pass down my romantic streak to you?”

He Siheng was speechless at the self-loving tone. He was about to hand over the test report when He Yunlang asked, “By the way, you and Tan Jing are at the same school now. What’s he like these days? There was that placement test at the start of term—who got first?”

“…Me.” He Siheng pulled back his outstretched hand. “He didn’t take it seriously this time—did pretty poorly.”

He Yunlang didn’t care about details, only results. Hearing He Siheng had beaten Tan Jing, he beamed. “That’s my boy—making me proud!”

“You don’t know—the bastard Tan Cong snatched another deal from me. Fifty million isn’t much, but his smug face pisses me off. Keep it up, son—crush his kid.”

He Yunlang laughed happily, then noticed what He Siheng held. “What’s that in your hand? Something from school for my signature?”

“Nothing.” He Siheng folded the test report twice and stuffed it in his pocket. “I’m heading to my room.”

He Yunlang didn’t dwell. “Go on, go on. Enough pocket money this month? I’ll double it!”

He Siheng didn’t reply and went straight to his bedroom.

At his desk, he tossed his bag on it and slumped into the chair.

His room was on the first floor, facing the Tan house. From here, he could vaguely see the lit first-floor room in the opposite villa—that was Tan Jing’s bedroom.

Originally, both their rooms had been upstairs. Before they’d started clashing, they’d moved to the ground floor—one in front, one in back—for easy wall-climbing visits to play.

Tan Jing had been a sickly kid as a child, getting ill every few days with meds and shots—like a fragile porcelain doll.

The porcelain doll was strictly controlled by his family, not allowed to get rowdy.

So, on many nights, He Siheng would sneak over the wall with his game console, taking Tan Jing on rampages in games.

He Siheng had had a vivid imagination as a kid. After watching a few horror movies, he’d always feel like ghosts lurked everywhere during thunderstorms.

His parents were often busy with company affairs and returned home late or not at all, leaving only him and the household servants at home.

Thus, on many stormy nights, Tan Jing wore a thick winter coat, held an umbrella, secretly climbed over the wall, and knocked on his window.

They had once been friends who relied on each other, but later, it became nothing but competition—competition, competition.

“Sigh…”

A soft sigh fell gently in the quiet room.

He Siheng took the test report out of his pocket, stared at it for a long time, and finally stuffed it into the drawer.

Boss He had high expectations for him to surpass Tan Jing. The He family had always been overshadowed by the Tan family, and now Tan Jing had differentiated into an S-Rank Alpha. If he told him now that he had differentiated into an Omega, his father would be even more frustrated.

So, at least wait until after the college entrance exam.

Once he beat Tan Jing and claimed the Science Top Scorer title in Qinan City, then he could bring it up. It would be one good thing offsetting one bad, softening the blow a bit.

After sorting out his mood, He Siheng plugged his phone into the charger and got up to take a shower.

When he returned from the shower, he habitually picked up his phone to check the battery level and noticed an extra WeChat friend request.

The request came from Tan Jing, whom he had angrily deleted as a friend several years ago: Approved, have something to send you.*

He Siheng puzzledly tapped to accept. Just as he was about to ask what it was, before he could finish typing, the other party sent a message.

It was a document titled “ABO Common Sense Manual,” which appeared to be made by Tan Jing himself.

He Siheng: ?

Tan Jing: Read it through; it’s not bad for you.

He Siheng found it baffling and didn’t open it, tossing the phone back onto the table.

After a while, he couldn’t resist his curiosity, picked up the phone again, and tapped into it.

The first line in the document was in bold uppercase: Protecting the gland is extremely important for Omegas. Do not easily expose it to others.

Immediately following was the second line, also in bold uppercase: An Omega voluntarily exposing their gland to an Alpha is equivalent to seeking pleasure.

“…”

“…………”

In the silent bedroom, Young Master He stared at his phone for a long moment. A flush crept from his neck up to his face, and he cursed awkwardly, “…Fuck!”

The He Family had deep roots, yet they were always suppressed by the Tan Family. Thus, from a young age, He Siheng was burdened with great expectations—he had to compete with Tan Jing for first place in everything.

In high school, after the schools merged, the two unluckily ended up in the same class, clashing like fire and water.

Right at the start of the semester, Tan Jing stole most of He Siheng's popularity. Even when He Siheng tried to chase after girls, Tan Jing sabotaged him.

When He Siheng heard that Tan Jing had differentiated into an S-Rank Alpha, he immediately issued a challenge, declaring that once he passed his own Differentiation Period, they would have a Pheromones showdown.

However, during another conflict, He Siheng—who had shown no signs of differentiation—suddenly flushed red, his legs went weak, and he collapsed into Tan Jing's arms.

Tan Jing looked down at him, his fingertip gently rubbing the back of He Siheng's neck: "Congratulations, you've differentiated into an Omega."

He Siheng blurted out like a stubborn arguer possessed: "Then I'm the strongest Omega!"

...Damn, how could he be an Omega?!

*

To prove that ability had nothing to do with AO gender, He Siheng decided to hide his differentiation from everyone.

To do so, he had to endure humiliation and seal the mouth of the only person in the know, Tan Jing. He went all out to show Tan Jing his "classmate love."

When asked for hush money, he gave it generously.

When ordered to run errands, he gritted his teeth and did it.

During one class break, Tan Jing propped his cheek lazily and said offhandedly, "You take such good care of me."

He Siheng cursed inwardly but smiled on his face: "As long as you're satisfied."

Suddenly, in a voice loud enough for the surrounding classmates to hear, the other asked seriously, "You take such good care of me, you're so thoughtful and caring—don't tell me... you like me?"

The other classmates: "!!!"

He Siheng: "...?"

*

After differentiating into an S-Rank Omega, suppressants had no effect on He Siheng. During every heat period, he could only rely on an Alpha of the same grade for a Temporary Mark.

And the school's only S-Rank Alpha was Tan Jing.

During one PE class, someone saw He Siheng grab Tan Jing by the collar and drag him away forcefully, as if they were about to fight again.

Half an hour later, when they returned to the classroom, Tan Jing had a split lip.

A friend gave He Siheng a thumbs-up in admiration: "Heng Bro is awesome! You actually beat the Class Monitor!"

He Siheng, who usually loved praise the most, looked strangely this time. He rubbed his bitten neck, which ached, blushed to his ears, and after a long while, managed to squeeze out an "oh."

*That damn guy did the Temporary Mark so hard.*

*Damn, next time, no more biting his mouth.*
