Chapter 25 (End of Main Story)
Little Flower had set up the recording device in advance, capturing their unconventional, chaotic, yet free and unforgettable wedding ceremony.
When Lin Ling announced, “It’s time for the newlyweds to enter,” Shi Changyuan didn’t offer his arm and proceed towards the church as planned. Instead, he pulled Little Flower into a deep, passionate embrace.
Under the aurora’s glow, amidst the dark sky and the vast, icy plain, stood the two figures, locked in a kiss.
When Little Flower was breathless, his breath misting in the cold air, the Abyss finally released him, whispering in his ear, “Sorry, I just wanted to kiss you.”
“Th-then can we continue now…?”
Before Lin Ling could finish, Shi Changyuan whispered again, “But now, I still just want to kiss you.”
“You’re so annoying!”
Despite his words, when Shi Changyuan leaned in again, Lin Ling wrapped his arms around his neck, returning the kiss with heartfelt passion.
“…C-can we continue now?” Little Flower finally couldn’t take the cold of the icy plain any longer.
“Okay.”
Shi Changyuan finally released Lin Ling, sweeping him up into his arms, and headed towards the church.
“Wait, wait, wait! That’s not right!” Little Flower struggled in the Abyss’s arms, protesting that the order was wrong. He was supposed to walk down the aisle, together.
“I don’t have a red carpet, but I planted lots of little white flowers. We can walk a flower path together.”
Shi Changyuan then noticed the long path of flowers winding at their feet, starting with a heart shape and extending into the church.
“But can Ling Ling even walk on his own?” Shi Changyuan’s genuine concern made Little Flower blush in embarrassment.
“Well, whose fault is that?”
Little Flower didn’t want to be carried either, but he was weak and breathless, clinging to the Abyss like a vine.
“It’s okay, we’ll do it my way,” Shi Changyuan chuckled, carrying Lin Ling inside.
Although the church was in ruins, the main entrance was still intact. Lin Ling had also entwined the Roman columns with vines and small white flowers as decorations.
“Aren’t we going inside?” Little Flower asked, puzzled.
“What for? I’m not religious.” Shi Changyuan kissed Little Flower’s eyes, then placed him on the church steps, so Little Flower stood on higher ground, looking down at him.
He took Little Flower’s hand, kissed the back of it reverently, and declared, “You are my faith.”
Lin Ling, looking at Shi Changyuan, suddenly remembered his lines. He skipped the preamble and asked, “Then do you take Little Flower to be your partner for all eternity, to be by each other’s side, always and forever?”
“I do.”
Lin Ling’s eyes crinkled into a smile. He jumped from the steps into the Abyss’s arms and declared loudly, “I do too!”
“From this day forward, Shi Changyuan and Lin Ling shall never be parted.”
They exchanged vows before the church.
In this moment, witnessed by heaven and earth, their love was etched into eternity.
“Okay, now we exchange rings!” Little Flower looked at Shi Changyuan expectantly. “You prepared them, right?”
Shi Changyuan knew that Lin Ling had discovered his secret since their world tour began, after their first stop at a human base.
Little Flower had found the Abyss acting suspiciously and had become curious. So, when Shi Changyuan tried to secretly measure his finger size while he was sleeping, he was caught red-handed.
Shi Changyuan had designed the rings himself, searching for beautiful and rare materials during their travels and meticulously crafting them by hand.
Little Flower had discovered this but kept quiet, secretly thinking that since the Abyss was preparing the rings, he would prepare the wedding. It would be wonderful to surprise each other.
The Abyss chuckled and played along, feigning ignorance. “Hm? How did Little Flower know?”
Lin Ling puffed out his chest. “I saw you, secretly.”
Shi Changyuan smiled, took out the matching rings he had made, and gently slid the smaller one onto Little Flower’s ring finger. Then, he pressed something, and a soft “click” sounded.
The ring was a Möbius strip formed by vines and a small white flower, like a tiny bloom growing in the vast, endless Abyss, binding them together.
“So beautiful! I love it!” Little Flower held out his hand, showing it off to the Abyss from all angles.
Then, Little Flower took out the other identical ring and slid it onto the Abyss’s ring finger with a “click.”
“Eh, I can’t seem to take it off,” Little Flower suddenly discovered the ring’s secret.
“Mm, you can’t,” the Abyss confessed honestly. “It’s made of a special metal. It can’t be removed unless… life ceases.”
Lin Ling carefully examined the ring’s material, then, mimicking the Abyss, kissed his ring finger and said, “Well, if it can’t be taken off, then it can’t be taken off. I hope it’s waterproof.”
He then took Shi Changyuan’s hand, their fingers interlacing.
“After exchanging rings, the Abyss can kiss his Little Flower. But since the Abyss has already completed this step, we’ll skip…”
Lin Ling wanted to skip the repeated step, but he was too naive.
By the time Little Flower remembered his recording device, it had been frozen by the cold wind and had run out of battery. Fortunately, the previous scenes had been perfectly recorded, beautiful, spectacular, and visually stunning.
“You even brought this?”
The Abyss was curious as he watched Little Flower fiddling with the device.
“Of course, human weddings are always recorded, so you can watch them again later.”
“When Little Flower becomes an old flower, I can still relive this day.”
Little Flower puffed out his chest proudly, “And I’ll send this back to those humans to show them that Little Flower’s wedding planning is the best and most perfect!”
“Mm.”
Although the Abyss unconditionally supported Little Flower, there was a question he had been wanting to ask for a long time. “Little Flower, did you plan to come here and wait for the aurora from the beginning?”
“Yes.”
Lin Ling nodded. “I wanted to find the perfect atmosphere for you. We’ve been to the ocean, the jungle, the snowy mountains, but none of them felt quite right.”
Little Flower puffed out his cheeks. “If I could have held the wedding in the sky, among the stars and galaxies, I think the dark universe, dotted with shining stars, would be perfect for you.”
Shi Changyuan paused, then chuckled. “But I’m the Abyss, I only devour. I’m just pitch black, like the starry sky.”
Little Flower looked at the Abyss and muttered, “You’re both mysterious, but one is in the sky, visible but untouchable.”
“And the other is on the ground, by Little Flower’s side, visible, embraceable, and lets me fill the Abyss with little white flowers.”
“For a wedding, we have to use the best, even for the backdrop.” Little Flower nodded in agreement. “So I borrowed it.”
“The stars and the aurora are beautiful, yes, but when they appear with you, they become mere background.”
Little Flower paused, took the Abyss’s hand, and placed it over his heart. “My heart only beats for you, can you feel it?”
Shi Changyuan chuckled and pinched Little Flower’s puffed-out cheeks. “Why are Little Flower’s sweet words flowing like a river?”
“Because I want you to know that I like you, very, very much.”
Little Flower’s straightforward and passionate love made the Abyss want to devour him whole.
Acting on impulse, Shi Changyuan hugged Little Flower again, and with a “whoosh,” the scene blurred, and Lin Ling was back in the familiar Abyss.
“Eh, why are we back?”
“Hm?” Shi Changyuan chuckled. “It’s our wedding night, we shouldn’t spend it on a freezing cold icy plain.”
Little Flower understood, his face turning crimson. He stammered for a long time before finally managing, “D-do you even know how…?”
The Abyss, amused and exasperated, kissed Lin Ling, silencing him before he could say anything more disastrous.
But Little Flower still suffered.
“Y-you…said you wouldn’t tire me out…”
Lin Ling whimpered, his voice hoarse. Feeling the still energetic Abyss, he was both scared and exasperated.
“I never intended to tire Little Flower out.”
Shi Changyuan kissed Lin Ling’s earlobe again, soothing him, then trailed kisses down his neck, across the marks on his shoulder, to the now no longer pristine skin of his neck, feeling his control slipping.
His Little Flower was simply too alluring.
…
The Abyss seemed to be particularly fond of leaving marks on Little Flower, as if his possessiveness overflowed. Every morning, during their intimate moments, the Abyss would kiss each mark, then lose control again, pulling the barely rested Little Flower into another passionate embrace.
…
By the time Little Flower finally emerged from the Abyss and saw the light of day again, the humans had already had his wedding video for almost a month, practically wearing it out.
It was the most unique wedding in the apocalypse, captivating countless people who saw it.
Besides the extreme romance and the protagonists’ stunning beauty, the fleeting glimpses of the apocalyptic landscape in the video were also of great research value.
Lin Ling, hearing Lu Jiajia’s feedback, perked up, ready to receive the humans’ praise, when he first received an invitation from Mo Cheng.
She said that they had collected quite a few good things using Little Flower and the Abyss’s name, and asked Little Flower to come and “divide the spoils.”
Little Flower, hearing there were good things, readily agreed and went with the Abyss.
“By the way, we have a small request,” Mo Cheng said, looking at them.
“It’s about your travels. We hope to record some of your experiences, to give humanity a chance to understand this world again.”
The Abyss, watching Little Flower happily skip off to choose his share of the loot, didn’t refuse.
Mo Cheng sensed a change in the Abyss and smiled, about to say something, when she heard him suddenly say,
“The human era of apocalypse won’t last much longer.”
—”Together with Little Flower, I look forward to that day.”
Congratulations to the newly wed couple 🎉🎉

Something about the wording of the last two sentences sound like a casual extinction notice rather than an early congratulations. 😂
