Recently, due to a bug when splitting chapters, it was only possible to upload using whole numbers, which is why recent releases ended up with a higher chapter number than the actual chapter number. The chapters already uploaded and their respective novels can no longer be fixed unless we edit and re-upload them chapter by chapter(Chapters content are okay, just the number in the list is incorrect), but that would take a lot of time. Therefore, those uploaded in that way will remain as they are. The bug has been fixed(lasted 1 day), as seen with the recently uploaded novels, which can be split into parts and everything works as usual. From now on, all new content will be uploaded in correct order as before the bug happens. If time permits in the future, we may attempt to reorganize the previously affected chapters.

Chapter 24: Hating That Alpha’s Beta

Yu Sui understood each of the words separately, but when they were put together, he truly couldn’t comprehend them.

“System…”

[Those are all just excuses,] the System declared with absolute certainty. [He’s jealous. He wants to wipe away the marks on your body, but because of the persona he’s imposed on himself, he can only resort to this method.]

“Is that how it is?” Yu Sui replied, only half convinced.

Shen Anliu watched him fall silent and grew a little panicked. “Bro?”

“You’re putting medicine on me because you don’t want to see these marks, right?” As Yu Sui spoke, he stared at Shen Anliu’s face, observing closely.

Shen Anliu’s gaze darted away evasively. “I…”

“Fine, then.” With that, Yu Sui felt completely at ease.

He lay prone on the bed.

Shen Anliu’s heart pounded faster, a sweet sensation welling up inside him.

Was Yu Sui coaxing him like this? He was clearly embarrassed but had compromised anyway, just to give him a sense of security.

God, Yu Sui was really something else.

Shen Anliu swallowed hard, sat down beside him, and then tugged the shirt down.

The smooth, pale expanse of his back was marred by unsightly, scattered blotches.

The finger marks on his waist had deepened to a vivid red, a clear testament to that person’s possessive dominance.

Shen Anliu frowned, envy and jealousy churning within him. He hadn’t even kissed those spots himself.

With careful fingertips, he applied the cool ointment, his movements gentle and patient.

Yu Sui pretended to scroll on his phone, but in reality, he was using the screen’s reflection to sneak glances at the young man’s reactions.

When he saw Shen Anliu staring fixedly at his back, his expression exceedingly grim, Yu Sui fully believed what the System had said.

He let out a quiet breath of relief, opened WeChat, and switched to his alt account to check on that task’s progress.

Ding dong—

The moment he refreshed after switching accounts, a message popped up.

[WeChat] x: Hello.

Seeing that Jiang Nianxing had accepted his friend request, Yu Sui’s eyes lit up. He immediately launched into harassment mode.

[WeChat] y: Show me your pecs.

Jiang Nianxing, still in the infirmary, nearly leapt to his feet upon reading the message.

Why on earth would Yu Sui send something like that?

Did it mean the young man was interested in him?

Jiang Nianxing’s ears flushed crimson, blood practically dripping from them. He hadn’t expected Yu Sui to be so forward in private.

But he was still in the infirmary—what if someone saw?

[WeChat] x: No.

Not right now, Jiang Nianxing mentally amended.

Yu Sui, on the receiving end, wasn’t surprised by the refusal at all.

He didn’t send any follow-up messages. After all, the protagonist shou was still applying medicine to him. What if Shen Anliu discovered he was harassing Jiang Nianxing and lost control, beating him up?

Jiang Nianxing clutched his phone, the corners of his mouth lifting. Somehow, it felt just like dating.

Yet after a long wait, there was still no reply.

Anxiety gripped him at once. Had his response been too curt? Had it caused Yu Sui to misunderstand?

With that thought, he lifted his shirt, phone trembling in his hand as he snapped a photo of his abs and sent it over.

Still, no reply came.

Not satisfied?

Or perhaps…

Jiang Nianxing’s heart raced. Perhaps the abs were just a pretext, and what he really wanted to see was…

That was way too much…

His breathing grew ragged, but even so, he couldn’t bring himself to snap that kind of photo in the infirmary.

Yu Sui set his phone aside and gradually relaxed, a wave of fatigue washing over him.

Shen Anliu stared at those marks, his mind swirling with indecent fantasies.

He fought hard to keep any hint of it from showing.

Finally, with great difficulty, he lifted his hands from Yu Sui’s waist. When he looked up, he saw Yu Sui lying there with one cheek pressed to the bed, eyes closed.

Shen Anliu swallowed thickly, leaned down slowly, and pressed a scorching kiss to the young man’s back.

His heart felt like it was about to leap from his chest. He licked his lips, carefully tucked the blanket over Yu Sui, and beat a hasty, awkward retreat to the bathroom.

The coolness of the ointment lingered on his fingertips, but from it, Shen Anliu caught the unique fragrance that belonged only to Yu Sui.

Pleasant yet restrained sounds echoed softly through the bathroom.

Jiang Nianxing rested for three hours until the potion’s side effects fully faded. After a quick check-up confirmed he was fine, he headed back to the dorms.

In the shower, his thoughts drifted to Yu Sui’s silence.

Was he dissatisfied with him?

He recalled what he’d found online: a good dog couldn’t just passively await its master’s commands; it had to learn to take the initiative and please proactively.

He bit his lip and leaned against the shower wall. His prominent Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed, the veins along his waist taut and sensually defined. Water droplets clung to his abs, trailing downward.

With one clearly boned hand gripping himself, Jiang Nianxing bit down harder on his lip, a mix of shame and excitement surging through him.

Was this the feeling of being a dog?

Click. He snapped the photo and sent it to Yu Sui, heart pounding as he awaited his master’s verdict.

[WeChat] x: Satisfied?

After his death, Yu Sui was bound to the System. All he had to do was play the role of a tool character in R18 novels, pushing the plot along to gather revival energy. System: You're really just foreplay for the protagonists. Yu Sui: Fine. World One: Beta Who Hates Alphas [You are a foolish Beta who hates Alphas. You disguise yourself as a high-class Alpha to infiltrate an all-Alpha boy band, using a fake identity to belittle your teammates. Out of jealousy for their talents, you become twisted, hell-bent on ruining them as you repeatedly court disaster—but you always end up hoisted by your own petard. Thanks to your schemes, the protagonists find their happy ending. Then your true identity is exposed, and brutal revenge awaits...] Yu Sui diligently stuck to the script. By day, he trashed his teammates to build up their hatred. Behind the scenes, he pulled off one shady stunt after another. To cook up a teammate scandal, Yu Sui used an alt account to add one of them and chat about flirty topics. But his target dove in even harder, obsessing day after day over his legs, his waist, dying to kiss his mouth... Yu Sui was floored. Whatever happened to that deep devotion, with eyes only for the protagonist shou and everyone else just background noise? Did a dog eat that character setup? Desperate to snap proof of infighting, he racked his brains to stir up trouble between them. Instead of teaming up to mess with him as scripted, his teammates actually threw down for real! All over his missing underwear... Yu Sui: He felt a little dead inside. Exactly who the hell stole his underwear?! The scheme to drug his teammates and make them look bad—which was meant to accidentally spark the protagonists' romance—backfired spectacularly. Yu Sui took the hit instead. His Alpha-phobic teammate rubbed his ankle with an ambiguous purr. "Tried to screw me over? So how should I make you pay?" Terror gripped Yu Sui. Fear consumed him. He shook his head wildly. Don't come any closer! World Two: Incompetent Husband [Unable to give your beautiful wife the happiness he deserves, you've grown psychologically warped, forever fantasizing that he's stepping out on you. To test the theory, you drag your boss home, engineering one chance after another for them to be alone as you try to catch them in the act. In the end, they really do cheat—and since you can't cross the boss, you swallow your rage and play dumb...] Yu Sui threw himself into the role of the paranoid, spineless husband. Timid and cowering outside the home, he'd raise a fuss indoors, inviting the boss over again and again to give the pair "privacy." But the wife—supposed to lose patience and hook up with the boss out of spite—ditched his usual restraint. Pinching Yu Sui's waist, eyes red with fury, he snarled, "Shoving me aside over and over, then bringing your boss home to make googly eyes—do you think I'm blind?" Body and soul worn to the breaking point, Yu Sui refused to give up on salvaging the plot. He cornered the boss to test the waters. Spotting Yu Sui's suggestive outfit, the boss's voice soured. "Didn't you promise to keep him away?" Eyes lighting up at the jealousy, Yu Sui figured a job threat was coming next. "Stringing me along every damn day—when are you dumping him so I can step up?" The boss's gaze burned with envy. Yu Sui: ??? When the hell had he strung the boss along?! No way—the plot was derailing again!
