Chapter 13
The man had white hair and blue eyes, his face handsome and cold.
The dim light outlined the sharp, elegant silhouette of his profile, his nose straight, his brow bone prominent, his Adam’s apple distinct. His features were hard but incredibly attractive.
His hands were large, long-fingered, and well-defined, radiating strength.
However, he hadn’t used this form in a long time and was still adjusting.
Hugh Elvis’s fingertips brushed against the tears on Shi Nuo’s face. He withdrew his hand, looked at it, and gently rubbed his thumb against the dampness.
Distant memories told him that this was what tears felt like, but to him, tears were something unfamiliar, something he hadn’t experienced since he could remember.
As a child, he had only seen other young Omegas cry; he had never touched tears himself.
Driven by curiosity, he leaned down and sniffed gently at Shi Nuo’s cheeks and eyes, then licked them.
Salty.
Shi Nuo had opened his eyes when the man leaned in to sniff, the touch startling him. Then, when his face was licked, his tears stopped from surprise.
The sudden shift to human form, though in the dim light, allowed Shi Nuo to glimpse the man’s handsome features. But what truly stunned him wasn’t the man’s appearance but his imposing physique, looming over him.
Male Alphas were naturally physically impressive, but Shi Nuo had never been this close to one.
Especially not while naked.
The presence of a living, breathing person was entirely different from that of the giant wolf.
And when the man, in human form, acted no differently from the beast, it was somewhat terrifying to Shi Nuo.
He could excuse the beast’s behavior as uncivilized, deluding himself to lessen the shame. But the man’s blatant, unrestrained actions pushed his embarrassment to the extreme.
Twenty-two years of civilized upbringing, even within the sometimes-debauched world of the nobility, had sheltered Shi Nuo from such directness. Most Alphas he had encountered presented a polished, respectable facade.
He had just graduated from university earlier this year. His family’s only expectation was for him to marry into a prominent family, a proper arranged marriage, for their own benefit. So, despite their emotional detachment, they hadn’t exposed him to such vulgarity.
The man’s strong, muscular body radiated heat and power. Even in the dim light, his broad shoulders and narrow waist were striking, his presence overwhelming the slender, beautiful Omega beneath him.
Shi Nuo, shocked, didn’t dare move.
After tasting the tears, Hugh Elvis didn’t move away but reached out and gently squeezed the Omega’s delicate, fair shoulder.
The sensation of touch was completely different from licking. Beneath his handsome, cold exterior was a curiosity not unlike a beast encountering something new.
After kneading Shi Nuo’s body all over, the scent of tea olive blossoms suddenly intensified.
Shi Nuo’s ears and cheeks burned. He tried to slow his breathing but only became more tense, his breaths coming faster. Finally, he closed his eyes, no longer caring about further embarrassment, and took deep breaths to calm himself.
Hugh Elvis lifted his head, his throat moving as he licked his lips.
Ten minutes later, Shi Nuo calmed down. He didn’t know how to interact with Hugh Elvis. In the dim light of the bedroom, he hadn’t even seen the man’s face clearly before all this happened.
However, the main reason for his silence was the man’s unrestrained behavior.
Nobles maintained a glamorous facade. Whether their refinement was genuine or not, most could maintain a semblance of decorum and politeness.
Hugh Elvis seemed to lack such training, his actions crude and direct, driven purely by instinct.
Shi Nuo felt numb. He remembered that Hugh Elvis’s condition had started after the age of nine, so he must have received a proper upbringing before then.
A top-tier Alpha with superior genes should also have exceptional memory. Unless he had suffered a brain injury, he should retain memories of civilized society.
“Mr. Elvis,” he finally whispered, embarrassed, trying to move away from the man’s hands.
Hugh Elvis, sensing the resistance, withdrew his hands from the Omega’s backside and braced himself on either side of Shi Nuo’s body. His expression seemed cold and indifferent, but his curiosity lingered as he stared at Shi Nuo’s lips.
Silence fell between them.
In the dim light, Hugh Elvis saw Shi Nuo turn his face away, looking towards the desk and chairs by the window, his beautiful, tear-filled eyes trembling slightly.
After a long moment, he finally understood that the Omega was avoiding his gaze out of embarrassment.
His night vision was excellent, and he could clearly see the flush on Shi Nuo’s body.
Their current position was still intimate. In his memories, Alphas and Omegas shouldn’t be this close.
Hugh Elvis pushed himself up and got out of bed.
Shi Nuo finally managed to curl up, a slightly defensive posture.
He wanted to pretend nothing had happened, but his blanket was on the floor, offering no cover. The room was filled not only with the mingled scent of their pheromones but also another, indescribable aroma.
Remembering his earlier behavior, he wanted to disappear.
The man standing by the bed was tall, his legs long and strong. A quick glance revealed the outline of his firm muscles in the dim light, the indistinctness only adding to his imposing height and physique.
Hugh Elvis smelled a slightly bitter sweetness. Unlike Omegas, his Alpha and beast instincts allowed him to easily decipher the information contained in the scent.
This was a healthy Omega, an adult. The bitter sweetness indicated that after being driven into heat, his body was ready for conception.
However…
Hugh Elvis lowered his eyes, searching his memories.
After the age of nine, he had often been confined to his room or the basement. At fifteen, he had been exiled here. His human will had slumbered, and his beast instincts had driven him to fight and kill other beasts in the wilderness and forests. Although his existence was muddled, it was exhilarating.
The hot, gushing blood of his prey, the taste of blood, soothed the rage surging within him. But most of the time, he fought not for food or blood but simply because of his volatile emotions.
At fifteen or sixteen, he was still young, newly released from his family, with little experience facing the dangers of the wild. He had been injured many times fighting other beasts, but the battles had made him stronger. The giant beasts and alien beasts that had once dominated this land had been vanquished by him two years ago.
He had no interest in ordinary beasts unless they challenged him. With his increased strength in recent years, there were no beast kings on this planet that could threaten his dominance. And as his emotions gradually stabilized, he had become less inclined to roam.
Before, apart from hunting, eating, and sleeping, he had spent his time seeking out beast kings to fight, paying little attention to anything else.
Although he lived as a beast, his experiences in human society inevitably influenced his thinking. During his idle moments, he had noticed that beasts were different from humans. They mated openly, wherever and whenever.
In the natural world, the strong preyed on the weak, and the strongest had the right to mate. But ordinary beasts also had keen instincts, and no female had ever dared to approach him. It was an instinctive way of distinguishing their own kind.
After reaching maturity, he possessed all the abilities of an Alpha, occasionally becoming restless, but there were no Omegas here, no way to release his pent-up pheromones.
Shi Nuo’s arrival had made him wary, but it had also piqued his interest.
However, he had seen beasts mate, but never humans.
Hugh Elvis’s gaze involuntarily fell on the huddled Shi Nuo. Humans could kneel with their backs turned, similar to beasts. In that case, it didn’t seem difficult.
Shi Nuo suddenly felt uneasy. He activated the intelligent system with his voice: “Natural light.”
The dimness gradually faded. The rain outside hadn’t stopped, and the light wasn’t as bright as on a sunny day, but it was enough to see clearly inside.
The nearly two-meter-tall man stood shirtless, a white animal skin wrapped around his waist. His limbs were long and powerful, his posture relaxed and casual. His long legs, tall stature, and firm, well-defined muscles gave him perfect proportions.
His icy blue eyes, influenced by years of living as a beast, held a cold, ferocious glint.
His strong physique exuded a wildness, and his face was strikingly handsome and cold. Shi Nuo was momentarily stunned.
Hugh Elvis suddenly bent down and, his back muscles flexing, pinched Shi Nuo’s reddened earlobe.
His fingers moved from the earlobe to the Omega’s slightly parted lips, rubbing them gently until they turned a vibrant red.
“Mr. Elvis, please…please don’t do this,” Shi Nuo whispered, not daring to look at the man, trying to pull away slightly, his current state deeply embarrassing.
The finger on his lip paused, pressing firmly against his lower lip before moving away.
Shi Nuo didn’t dare to show anger or speak out.
The man by the bed straightened up, crossed his arms, and looked down at him with a casual air, making no attempt to leave.
Naked and without a blanket, Shi Nuo forced himself to speak, “I need to get dressed.”
Hugh Elvis looked down at the floor, picked up the small piece of cloth he had removed earlier, and held it out to Shi Nuo.
Shi Nuo’s ears burned even redder. He carefully took his garment and mumbled, “Mr. Elvis, I mean, I need some privacy.”
Hugh Elvis, unconcerned, turned and walked out.
The payment he had received today far exceeded his expectations. It was enough. He wasn’t a greedy or unreasonable person.
As for the next payment, he ducked his head to avoid hitting the top of the doorframe, thinking absently, the Omega’s lips were very soft and pink…
The bed was a mess.
After showering, Shi Nuo dressed fully and, enduring the shame, gathered the bedding and stuffed it into the washing machine.
The two metal doors facing outside were open, and the imposing figure stood at the doorway, his back to Shi Nuo, looking out.
Shi Nuo had seen Hugh Elvis leave his bedroom earlier. The man was so tall, taller than the doorframe, that he had to duck to go through.
The room he was staying in was a servant’s room, both the door and the space inside relatively small. However, the front door and the living and dining areas were large, designed for the wolf’s beast form, requiring no ducking or bending.
The animal skin around Hugh Elvis’s waist looked familiar, white and soft, likely a mimicry of his fur in beast form.
Shi Nuo didn’t dare look too closely. He lowered his head and returned to his bedroom, thinking that Hugh Elvis must be about two meters tall in human form, even among Alphas, that was exceptional.
He locked the door.
But he knew that if Hugh Elvis wanted to come in, a simple lock wouldn’t stop him.
Shi Nuo sat on the edge of the bed and touched his sore neck. The temporary marking this time had been a bit rough, and too much pheromone had been injected. It was uncomfortable.
Before he could estimate how long it would take for his scent gland to recover, a terrifying thought struck him: his heat cycle was approaching.
