Chapter 47
Liang Xusheng discovered that he enjoyed being close to Lu Xun, physically and emotionally. He liked the scent of his body wash and shampoo, the subtle, unique fragrance that clung to his skin. He had slept soundly, nestled against Lu Xun, and woke up feeling content.
Is this love? Dopamine? Endorphins?, he wondered, suddenly regretting not realizing his feelings sooner. He rolled over, burying his face in Lu Xun’s pillow, inhaling his scent. I love his smell. I love him!. He felt giddy with happiness.
Lu Xun entered the room, carrying a glass of milk. “Stay home and rest today,” he said, sitting beside him and handing him the milk.
“Why?” Liang Xusheng asked, taking a sip.
“Are you still sore?”
Liang Xusheng’s eyes lit up. He put the milk down and flopped back onto the bed, feigning pain. “Ow, ow, it hurts so much. My dear husband will stay home and take care of me, right?”
Lu Xun chuckled, pulling him into a hug. “Of course.” He adored this playful side of Liang Xusheng.
“Hubby, you’re the best,” Liang Xusheng said, snuggling closer.
Lu Xun’s heart melted. He’s so sweet.
“Kiss me,” Liang Xusheng said.
Lu Xun leaned in and kissed him softly.
“I used to think kissing was gross,” Liang Xusheng said, after the kiss. “Now I like it.”
“Any goosebumps?” Lu Xun asked, concerned.
“Yeah, but I don’t care,” Liang Xusheng replied, hugging him tighter. “I love hugging you.”
“Do you still feel uncomfortable, physically?” Lu Xun asked, holding him close.
“Kind of, but I don’t care,” Liang Xusheng said. “I like it.”
Lu Xun chuckled, his heart full. “This is nice,” he murmured, kissing Liang Xusheng’s hair.
“It is,” Liang Xusheng agreed. His feelings for Lu Xun were growing stronger, no longer just based on physical attraction. He liked everything about him.
His love for Lu Xun was like a rocket, taking off at full speed.
They kissed again, a sweet, innocent kiss, their lips brushing against each other, their breaths mingling.
“Why didn’t we realize this sooner?” Liang Xusheng murmured between kisses.
“Focus,” Lu Xun said, his hand caressing his face and neck.
“Do you like this?” Liang Xusheng asked.
“Very much,” Lu Xun replied, his voice soft.
They fell back onto the bed, their kiss deepening.
“Do you want to…?” Liang Xusheng asked, sensing Lu Xun’s arousal.
“Not yet,” Lu Xun said, his kisses trailing down to his neck and jawline.
“Should I take a pill?” Liang Xusheng asked, reaching for the bedside table.
“No,” Lu Xun said, taking his hand and intertwining their fingers. “Those things aren’t good for you.” He wasn’t sure where Liang Xusheng had gotten them. “Don’t take them anymore.”
“But they’re the key to happiness,” Liang Xusheng protested.
“What key?” Lu Xun said, getting out of bed and throwing the bag of pills in the trash. “They could be dangerous.”
“Hey!” Liang Xusheng exclaimed.
Lu Xun leaned in and kissed him. “We don’t need them.”
“You don’t need them, but I do!”
“You don’t either,” Lu Xun said, his eyes darkening. “I know how to make you feel good without them.”
Liang Xusheng looked at him, confused.
Lu Xun lowered his head, his gaze intense, and kissed him, then moved lower. Liang Xusheng, watching him, could only see the top of his head.
Soon, he was moaning, his body writhing with pleasure.
He climaxed quickly, his body still tingling with excitement.
“See? It works,” Lu Xun said, wiping his mouth and observing his reaction.
Liang Xusheng, his mind still blank, reached out and pulled Lu Xun down for a kiss. “Again,” he whispered.
Lu Xun smiled, but he gently pushed him away. “Let’s eat something first.”
Liang Xusheng whined, pulling him back for another kiss.
Lu Xun realized that while others might want a cigarette after sex, Liang Xusheng wanted cuddles and reassurance. He held him close, stroking his hair and kissing him gently, until Liang Xusheng calmed down, snuggling contentedly in his arms.
Lu Xun went to get some food. Liang Xusheng, lying in bed, thought, That was amazing! Being gay is so much fun!.
After they ate and brushed their teeth, Liang Xusheng clung to Lu Xun, refusing to let go.
“What are you doing?” Lu Xun asked, amused.
“Cuddling,” Liang Xusheng replied.
“Do you have to cling to me like this?”
“Yes,” Liang Xusheng said, tightening his grip. He nuzzled against Lu Xun’s chest. “I’ve never had a boyfriend before. Be nice to me.”
Lu Xun chuckled, his heart melting. He had never seen Liang Xusheng like this. He knew it was because he loved him.
“I should have realized my feelings sooner,” he said.
“Me too,” Liang Xusheng agreed.
They stayed like that for days, Lu Xun taking time off work. They would cuddle, chat, play games, and watch TV during the day, and at night, they would explore their newfound intimacy, their bedroom a whirlwind of tangled limbs and discarded condoms.
Liang Xusheng’s initial protests of “No more, I can’t” had evolved into moans of pleasure and demands for more, as they experimented with different positions and locations.
“Are you okay?” Liang Xusheng asked one day, straddling Lu Xun. “I can take over if you’re tired.”
Lu Xun, amused, flipped him over and continued.
Finally, one day, Lu Xun couldn’t get out of bed, too exhausted to move.
Liang Xusheng, however, was full of energy, humming cheerfully as he brushed his teeth, his reflection in the mirror glowing with health and vitality. He walked over to the bed and touched Lu Xun’s face. “Only the strong survive,” he said.
Lu Xun, opening his eyes, looked at him, too tired to reply.
“Go back to sleep,” Liang Xusheng said, kissing him several times.
As he left the room, he rolled up his sleeve and examined his arm, the goosebumps gone. Cured!, he thought, and went to the kitchen, humming, to make Lu Xun a nourishing meal.
He called Fu Shu. “Mom, where did you buy those oysters? I want to get some for Lu Xun. He needs to recover his strength.” He chuckled. “Don’t make me sound like a succubus.”
After the call, Lu Xun received concerned messages from both mothers. Yang Yue even messaged him: [You two can’t even have children. There’s no need to be so energetic. Practice moderation.]
Lu Xun: “…”
Liang Xusheng entered the room, carrying a tray of food.
Lu Xun, putting down his phone, smiled at him.
“Here you go, my hero,” Liang Xusheng said, setting up the small table on the bed. “Eat up and regain your strength.”
This is bliss, Lu Xun thought.
Liang Xusheng, understanding his expression, leaned in and kissed him.
They didn’t need words. This was perfect.
“You’re not that big,” Liang Xusheng said casually, as he sat back down.
Lu Xun: “…?”
Chapter 48
After overcoming their physical intimacy hurdle, Liang Xusheng and Lu Xun’s relationship progressed rapidly. They shared a room, their nights filled with passion. Lu Xun noticed Liang Xusheng’s newfound clinginess, how he wanted to be held and touched constantly. He had never seen this side of Liang Xusheng before, and he loved it.
Liang Xusheng was completely lovestruck. He wanted cuddles day and night, asking Lu Xun to skip work and stay home with him, whining and acting spoiled. If Lu Xun insisted on going to the office, he would get ready quickly and accompany him. He would shower Lu Xun with affection whenever he had the chance, often distracting him from work with kisses. He started buying Lu Xun gifts online, from small accessories to furniture, showering his parents with gifts and affection too.
Lu Xun understood. Liang Xusheng’s love extended to everyone around him. He was generous, expressive, kind, and caring. Lu Xun had never felt so happy.
After the initial honeymoon phase, their relationship settled into a comfortable routine. Liang Xusheng realized that, besides their changed feelings, their daily interactions weren’t that different from before. Did I always like him?, he wondered, then dismissed the thought. It didn’t matter. They had always been a part of each other’s lives. They were married now, each other’s only.
His days were filled with simple joys: waking up with Lu Xun, having breakfast together, going to the office hand in hand, buying each other snacks, receiving flowers from Lu Xun every evening, spending weekends with family or on dates.
“So this is love,” Lulu sighed, observing Liang Xusheng’s radiant glow and cheerful demeanor as he shared his dating experiences. “So you realized you liked him just because he looked handsome on stage?” she asked, still finding it a bit sudden.
“He looked incredibly handsome,” Liang Xusheng insisted.
“Love is truly magical,” Lulu said, shaking her head. “You’ve known him for over twenty years, and then suddenly, bam, you’re in love.”
Liang Xusheng also found it strange. He hadn’t felt anything special for Lu Xun before.
“But if you had to divorce him…” Lulu started to say.
“He wouldn’t dare!” Liang Xusheng exclaimed.
“What if he married someone else? What if he fell in love with someone else and had a family?”
Liang Xusheng scoffed.
Lulu snapped her fingers. “I get it. You weren’t oblivious to your feelings; you were just too close to him to realize them. But if you had to separate, you’d be jealous.” She added, “You know what you’re doing, right? You’re having your cake and eating it too. You’re living like a couple while claiming to be just friends.”
“Am I?” Liang Xusheng asked.
“Stop showing off,” Lulu said, rolling her eyes.
Liang Xusheng chuckled and messaged Lu Xun: [Lulu says I’ve always liked you. She also says I’m stringing you along, pretending to be just your friend.]
Lu Xun: [Tell her it’s my honor.]
Liang Xusheng relayed the message to Lulu, who rolled her eyes again. “Perfect match,” she muttered.
They were walking through the mall when Liang Xusheng stopped at a watch store.
“Buying a watch?” Lulu asked.
“Looking for one for Lu Xun,” he replied. “We should get matching couple watches.”
“Such a good wifey,” Lulu teased. She looked at the price tags. “You’re going to bankrupt him.”
“No way,” Liang Xusheng said, grinning. “He’s rich.”
“Just spend more money on the game,” he added. “Then I can buy more watches.”
Lulu: “…?” She raised her fist. “I’m going to hit you!”
That night, after sex, they sat on the balcony, enjoying the night view.
“When the new game is released, and I’m not so busy anymore, we should take a long trip,” Lu Xun said. “Anywhere you want to go?”
Liang Xusheng smiled, looking at him. “Anywhere is fine. I’m not picky.”
As their conversation drifted to the future, Liang Xusheng said, “When you become a big-shot CEO, I might have to join my dad’s company.”
Lu Xun was surprised. “Why?”
“It’s the family business,” Liang Xusheng said casually. “My dad’s still young and can manage the company himself. But when he gets older, I’ll have to take over.”
Lu Xun looked at him, realizing Liang Xusheng, despite his carefree demeanor, was thinking about the future.
“You don’t have to if you don’t want to,” he said, taking Liang Xusheng’s hand. “I’m here.”
“I can’t just leave everything to you,” Liang Xusheng said, smiling, and intertwined his fingers with Lu Xun’s. “I’m planning to enjoy myself for a few more years, then join the company when I turn 30. I’ve been freeloading for long enough. It’s time to grow up. I can’t be playing video games all day while you’re running a company.”
“Why not? As long as you’re happy,” Lu Xun replied. “With me, you can live however you want.”
“Thank you for supporting me,” Liang Xusheng said sincerely. “But I can’t be 18 forever. I can live like I’m 18 when I’m 28, but not when I’m 38 or 48. I’ve been indulging myself for long enough. It’s time for a change.”
“Have you made up your mind?” Lu Xun asked.
“Yes,” Liang Xusheng said, his gaze firm.
“Okay,” Lu Xun replied. “Whatever you decide, I’ll support you.”
“Thanks, hubby,” Liang Xusheng said, grinning.
They both laughed.
“What if I run the company into the ground?” Liang Xusheng asked suddenly.
“Don’t even joke about that,” Lu Xun chuckled. “Your dad would have a heart attack.”
“I’m thinking of taking over your company too…”
The crescent moon hung in the sky, like a smiling mouth.
The next morning, Xunsheng’s employees arrived at the office. As they were settling in, Lu Xun and Liang Xusheng walked past, holding hands.
“Morning,” Liang Xusheng said, raising his coffee cup.
“Morning,” his colleagues replied.
“Boss’s wife is here again,” a female colleague teased.
“Of course,” Liang Xusheng replied, grinning. “Your boss can’t function without me.”
“Oooooh!” his colleagues teased.
Lu Xun, walking past the office, lifted Liang Xusheng’s hand and kissed it. “What do you want for lunch?”
“You,” Liang Xusheng replied, jumping onto Lu Xun’s back, then putting his arm around his shoulder as they walked towards Lu Xun’s office, laughing.
They are so sweet aaaaaaa
