Master of Masters 37

Chapter 37: Dogs Fighting for Master’s Attention [Wien, 55%]…

“The colonel’s excitement and focus during training today seem much higher.”

“Yes, he encountered some problems a few days ago, but after a few days of rest, he seems completely different.”

“The colonel is going to break the record again…”

The military females standing by, recording and observing, whispered amongst themselves, noting the steadily rising data curve on their tablets.

He Yue watched Koeyle training diligently behind the glass of the observation room and the training room, an inappropriate analogy popping into his head.

What did Colonel Koeyle resemble now? Perhaps a peacock, displaying its vibrant plumage.

His eyes occasionally glanced towards the observation room where He Yue was, and whenever their gazes met, the numbers on the monitoring equipment would rise slightly, his thoughts and intentions clearly displayed.

He was serious and dedicated, his training suit damp with sweat. Even as he gradually reached his physical limit, he didn’t slacken his efforts. Between breaths, he would turn his head and smile at He Yue, sweat dripping from his forehead, his expectant gaze like a puppy seeking its master’s praise.

He Yue nodded affirmatively, and Koeyle, as if reenergized, threw himself back into even more intense training.

The glass of the observation room faintly reflected the room’s interior, and He Yue’s gaze shifted from Koeyle in the distant training room back to the glass. Wien, standing beside him, wasn’t looking at Koeyle, nor at the monitoring screens in the corner of the observation room.

Wien was looking at his accompanying male insect, his gaze never leaving him.

He Yue turned around, slightly puzzled, and saw Wien quickly lower his head, as if looking at the tablet in his hand.

A crack sound came from beside him, and He Yue saw a crack appear on the screen of Wien’s tablet, a distinct black line on its surface. There wasn’t a single stroke on the tablet. Wien gripped the stylus tightly, his jaw clenched, his face tense.

“Wien?”

He Yue placed his hand over Wien’s hand, which was gripping the tablet, feeling the prominent veins on the back of his broad hand.

He stepped closer to Wien, their shoulders touching, and beckoned him with his other hand.

Wien obediently lowered his head, leaning close to He Yue, as if to whisper.

“You crushed the optical transceiver last time, are you going to crush the base’s tablet this time?”

Wien coughed awkwardly, his grip on the tablet loosening slightly. His hand didn’t move, He Yue’s hand still covering the back of it.

“Record properly, this is your job, Major Wien.” He Yue chuckled and patted the back of his hand.

The monitoring screen flickered, emitting a beep. The training performance curve suddenly spiked, almost becoming a vertical line. Everyone’s attention was drawn to Koeyle on the other side of the observation room glass.

He swung the simulated lightsaber in his hand, striking the final boss, a spin and a flourish ending the training instance.

The score jumped, a golden “new” appearing in the top right corner, and “top.1” displayed in the center.

Koeyle tossed the simulated lightsaber into the designated container. He turned to face them in the observation room, arms crossed, a victorious smirk on his face.

Sweat plastered his hair to his forehead. His smile was unrestrained and arrogant, a clear provocation towards the female insect behind his Master.

“Wow, he actually broke the record.”

“As expected of the only female colonel, so impressive.”

The military females, like Koeyle’s fans, showered him with praise, their chatter incessant.

“Shut up!” Wien’s face darkened, his expression almost terrifying. Coupled with his imposing physique, one of the most robust in the entire base, and the major’s epaulettes on his shoulders, the effect was quite intimidating.

The military females immediately fell silent, exchanging glances, hurriedly bowing and excusing themselves, fleeing with their tablets. They were so hasty that the observation room door slammed shut, the floor seeming to tremble.

The room was quiet, the monitoring screen occasionally beeping. The sounds from outside couldn’t be heard. Koeyle, in the training room behind the double-layered glass, banged on the window a couple of times, but it didn’t attract He Yue’s attention.

“You didn’t record anything.” He Yue glanced at the blank screen of Wien’s tablet. “What are we going to do? Make Colonel Koeyle train again?”

Wien immediately replied, “No need, I’ll fill it in later from the recorded data.” He wouldn’t create another opportunity for He Yue to stare at Colonel Koeyle’s moment of glory.

He Yue, seeing his displeasure, added fuel to the fire with a smile. “Won’t it be inaccurate? The training progress and other data might not match up.”

A crack sound echoed as the screen of Wien’s tablet shattered completely. The screen glitched, flickered a few times, then went black, unresponsive no matter how many times he pressed it.

“How did you…”

As He Yue spoke, the hand covering Wien’s hand turned over, gripping his. Koeyle’s warm, broad palm covered the back of He Yue’s hand, the rough calluses faintly perceptible.

“Don’t look.” Wien frowned slightly, the imposing aura he had displayed before the other military females completely gone. “Can Master, please, not look at him?” He pleaded softly, his tone humble and ingratiating, his expression dejected.

He knew he was a civilian military female. Even if he climbed from major to colonel, he wouldn’t be as powerful as a regular officer. Even with his muscular physique, he wouldn’t have the opportunity to enter the training room and participate in the special training…

Master would never look at him with that admiring, even slightly reverent, gaze.

That was Colonel Koeyle’s unique advantage in front of He Yue, not his.

The seeds of possessiveness had been sown long ago, but Wien had always been obedient and sensible, never showing it. However, seeing He Yue staring intently at the powerful Colonel Koeyle during training, the gentle encouragement and affirmation in his eyes, made the seeds of jealousy sprout and grow wildly.

“Master, don’t look at him…” Wien knew he was being unreasonable, so he looked at He Yue even more anxiously.

He Yue pinched his cheek with his free hand, not angry as he had imagined, but asking gently, “What are you thinking about?” He subtly addressed Wien’s insecurity, his words carrying a captivating power, pulling Wien back from the brink.

“I don’t want Master to look at him.” Wien regained his composure under He Yue’s gaze, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath, putting on an obedient expression once more. “I didn’t mean to make things difficult for Master, I’m just very jealous. Everything about an accompanying female insect belongs to you, including my thoughts. Since Master asked, I should answer, even if Master doesn’t care.”

He appeared sensible, obedient, and understanding, willing to suppress himself for He Yue, like the always well-behaved eldest son, the child who never caused trouble. But his hand, pressed against He Yue’s, was trembling slightly, a subtle tremor only He Yue, holding his hand tightly, could feel.

Moreover, He Yue saw that his other hand, half-hidden in his sleeve, was clenched into a fist, the knuckles white.

He Yue remained silent, and Wien became even more anxious.

He used almost all his strength to suppress his surging emotions, forcing out the words, “Master can do whatever you want, look at whatever you want, I will always support you, I’m not important…”

“Wien.”

He Yue interrupted him at the right moment. He gently touched Wien’s face with the back of his free hand. “Don’t be like this, I don’t like it.”

He saw the tension in Wien’s face ease, his clenched fist relaxing.

“Master.” He softly uttered the title only he used.

[Wien, 55%.]

He Yue patted his head. “Good dogs get treats. You are my accompanying female insect, you are important.”

Wien pursed his lips, closing his eyes and nuzzling He Yue’s palm affectionately. His eyes were hot, the closed lids hiding the tears that had welled up.

He would be the obedient dog He Yue spoke of.

“Master, I’m sorry.” Wien smiled, like a warm, comforting large dog.

He Yue ruffled his hair and chuckled. “My little golden retriever.”

The observation room door opened, and Wien and He Yue looked towards the entrance.

Koeyle had changed out of his training suit and into his full colonel’s uniform, which he kept in his personal locker. The creases on the clothes suggested it was the first time it had been taken out of its packaging, the brand-new black fabric almost gleaming.

A silver chain connected the silver colonel’s epaulettes on his shoulders to the colonel’s medal on his chest.

This was the formal uniform usually worn only for official public occasions, exquisite and elegant.

He Yue’s gaze lingered on the gleaming epaulettes for a few seconds. They represented not just honor, but also power and status, highlighting Koeyle’s unique advantage as the base’s only female colonel.

“Major Wien, it’s an honor to have you record my data.” Koeyle said, raising an eyebrow, his tone laced with hostility.

Wien narrowed his eyes, sizing up Koeyle’s uniform, taking a deep breath to compose himself. He gritted his teeth, placed his right hand on his chest, and gave Koeyle a standard imperial military salute.

“Good day, sir.” Every word was laced with barely concealed resentment, his vulnerability exposed.

Koeyle, of course, smirked, not bothering to hide his satisfaction. “Major Wien, how was my training performance?”

Wien held the broken tablet behind his back and replied perfunctorily, “Not bad.”

Koeyle stepped forward and leaned closer to He Yue. “Master, there’s something about the training I’d like to discuss with Major Wien.”

As if they would actually discuss training.

He Yue scoffed inwardly, curious about what these seemingly calm officers would argue about. He nodded in agreement. “I’ll be outside, don’t keep me waiting.”

“Just a few words, I’ll be right back.” Koeyle replied.

The observation room door closed, the sound inside completely blocked. He Yue, of course, wouldn’t miss such a good opportunity. He quietly turned the doorknob, opening the door a crack.

Now, he could hear everything inside.

Koeyle spoke first: “Major Wien, can I see my training data? Although I broke the base record this time, I think there’s still room for improvement.”

Wien was still holding the broken, blank tablet. “I haven’t finished yet. I’ll send the analysis report to you later, sir.”

Koeyle scoffed. “Really? I thought you were staring at Master the whole time, without writing a single word.”

Wien flinched, his vulnerability exposed. He considered the feasibility of punching Koeyle in the face, but suppressed the urge upon seeing the gleaming silver epaulettes.

He calmed down, a smirk playing on his lips. “There are many things the colonel hasn’t noticed. For example…” He stepped closer to Koeyle, his voice regaining its confidence, neither servile nor arrogant. “Does the colonel address him as ‘Master,’ like other female insects, instead of ‘Master’ or ‘Insect Master,’ because you, dislike it?”

He watched Koeyle’s smile falter with satisfaction.

Koeyle’s face darkened, and he snapped, “What do you have to be smug about? You’re just allowed to call him Master, but in reality? Has Master bonded with you?”

“I’m Master’s accompanying female insect. Master’s name is engraved on my genetic imprint. It’s been with me since birth, and will be with me for life. What about you, sir?”

Wien ruthlessly struck Koeyle’s deepest insecurity.

Koeyle clutched the colonel’s medal on his chest, his eyes filled with anger and resentment. “So what? Have you been whipped by Master? Do you know what Master’s shoe sole feels like? Do you know what Master’s cum tastes like? Have you experienced the warmth and comfort of Master’s embrace?”

He was truly enraged, blurting everything out, trying to gain an advantage over Wien. He laid all his cards on the table, hoping that when weighed against Wien’s status as an accompanying female insect, he would have more weight.

“I am the only, active duty, female colonel.” He gripped the medal on his chest, the sharp silver edges almost drawing blood. “Major Wien, I’m at a height you’ll never reach in your lifetime.”

He smirked, a ruthless glint in his eyes. The usually composed and cunning colonel, who always hid his ambition well, now revealed another kind of ambition in front of Wien.

Ambition for He Yue.

“Major Wien, why don’t you think about whose name is on that recommendation letter? Without me, without Master’s favor, what are you?”

Koeyle clenched his fists, suppressing the urge to draw his gun.

Indeed, without Koeyle’s recommendation, Wien might not have become a major so smoothly. Starting as a new recruit, climbing up the ranks, who knew when he would become an officer.

For the first time, Wien found Koeyle’s epaulettes incredibly glaring, making his eyes ache. He felt suppressed by the power and status they represented, his own embroidered civilian epaulettes suddenly seeming dull in comparison.

“Major Wien, the time I’ve spent with Master is countless times more than yours.”

Wien’s mind was in turmoil from Koeyle’s provocation, but he still wanted to compete, to fight back, to win.

“Thank you for your promotion, sir, and thank you for taking care of my Master.”

“You!” Koeyle roared. “What do you mean, taking care of your Master?”

“Isn’t that right? He is my Master, I am his only accompanying female insect.” Wien’s eyes seemed calm, but they held a deep madness and boundless possessiveness.

“Is that all you can say?”

Wien finally chuckled. “No, I can also remind the colonel, have you forgotten why you’re by Master’s side?” He remembered that first day in Koeyle’s basement, watching the colonel being forced by He Yue, the words he had spoken.

He had found his opening, a glimmer of hope. He smiled politely. “Has the colonel achieved his goal?”

Koeyle’s face instantly paled. His mind went blank, as if an invisible dagger had pierced his heart, and he held his breath.

Wien raised an eyebrow and smiled. “Does the colonel intend to stay by Master’s side forever? Or a year, half a year?”

Koeyle stood frozen.

“Or, a quarter, three months… Cough!”

Before he could finish, Koeyle lunged forward, grabbing Wien by the collar.

The tightening collar choked Wien, making it difficult to breathe. Koeyle didn’t let go, instead tightening his grip.

“Gah… it’s three months…” Wien struggled to speak, his aggression unwavering.

Koeyle raised his fist, about to strike Wien in the face.

“What are you doing?” He Yue entered at the right moment, stopping Koeyle’s punch.

He Yue stood beside them, patted Koeyle’s arm, and said in a low voice, “Let go.”

Koeyle snapped out of his rage, He Yue’s words bringing him back to his senses. He glared at Wien, then reluctantly released his grip.

“What’s all the commotion?” He Yue’s voice was cold as he looked at the two agitated dogs, their bodies trembling slightly. He had heard everything clearly from outside, but in front of them, he still pretended to know nothing.

Koeyle was even more affected. His eyes reddened the moment he regained his senses and saw He Yue. He turned his head away, not wanting Wien to see him like this.

He could lose face in front of He Yue, but absolutely not in front of Wien.

“Koeyle, speak.”

“We had a disagreement.”

“Reason?”

“…”

Koeyle opened his mouth, but no words came out.

Wien spoke up from the side. “Because I said he could only stay by Master’s side for three months.”

He Yue nodded thoughtfully. “So the colonel resorted to violence? Is there anything wrong with what Wien said?”

“Nothing wrong! There’s nothing wrong with what he said!” Koeyle’s voice was loud, echoing through the observation room. He swiftly drew his gun, loaded it, and pointed it at Wien.

His finger rested on the trigger, but his hand trembled uncontrollably.

“The only accompanying female insect? With one shot, my Master will have no accompanying female insect in this world.”

Wien wasn’t afraid at all, even taking a step forward, pressing his forehead against the cold muzzle. He knew Koeyle wouldn’t shoot, but he still felt a sense of accomplishment for pushing him this far.

“Murdering a civilian officer, a bonded accompanying female insect, does the colonel want to be dismissed?” He chuckled nonchalantly. “With one shot, there will be no more unique female colonel in this world either.”

He Yue rolled his eyes and pushed Koeyle’s gun away. “Have you two had enough?”

The tense atmosphere didn’t dissipate even after Koeyle holstered his weapon. He glared at Wien again before turning and leaving.

“This guy…” He Yue sighed. He had heard their entire conversation clearly and knew that Wien had struck a nerve with Koeyle. His frustration was written all over his face, and He Yue was curious what he would do.

Wien quietly took He Yue’s hand and whispered, “Master, the colonel, he…”

The closed door suddenly opened, and Koeyle, who had just stormed off, barged back in, grabbing He Yue’s hand under Wien’s gaze and dragging him away without looking back. His actions were forceful, not giving He Yue a chance to react, nor Wien a chance to intervene.

In fact, Wien didn’t even try to stop him. He watched in surprise as He Yue’s gaze lingered on Koeyle, his hand slipping from his own.

He was determined to be the obedient dog He Yue wanted him to be, just abiding by the genetic imprint, staying by He Yue’s side forever, always responding to his Master’s every call.

Wien could still feel the lingering warmth of He Yue’s hand in his palm.

But even after convincing himself of this, he still felt incredibly sad.

He clenched his fist, but the warmth still faded.

But how could an accompanying female insect be willing to share his beloved Master with another?

Koeyle dragged He Yue through the corridor outside the training room, ignoring the stares directed at He Yue and the swaying of his high ponytail as he ran. He pulled He Yue into the locker room, the door slamming shut behind them.

The locker room was empty, and the loud noise didn’t elicit any response.

“What do you want to do?”

The colonel released his grip, no longer clutching his wrist tightly. Without Wien’s gaze, he shed his last layer of pretense and armor.

It didn’t matter how much he lost face in front of his Master. He had climaxed in front of He Yue, endured and restrained himself under his command, and found pleasure under his permission.

So, losing face didn’t matter.

Koeyle turned around, tears welling up in his eyes. He had been holding back for so long, his heart crumbling when he heard Wien mention those “three months,” tears threatening to spill. He wouldn’t allow himself to cry in front of Wien, biting his lip until it almost bled.

“What’s making you so upset?”

The moment He Yue spoke, the invincible, iron-blooded colonel shed two tears.

“I…” Koeyle didn’t know how to address this dilemma, ultimately unable to utter a single word. He gritted his teeth, silently crying.

As long as he could stay by He Yue’s side. Koeyle clung to this thought, his sinking heart suspended in mid-air by a thick rope.

“If you don’t want to talk…”

He Yue opened his arms.

“Come and hug me.”
