Chapter 25
The bar owner arrived late, cleared the place, and turned off the lights and music. The entire bar instantly fell silent.
Zhong Yuxiao and Xi Shi didn’t look like newlyweds, but rather enemies about to brawl, especially Xi Shi, whose eyes were so fierce it looked like he wanted to bite a chunk out of Zhong Yuxiao.
Very exciting.
Zhong Yuxiao suddenly thought being a piece of meat wasn’t so bad.
You Jiayu had called the bar owner. After learning about Zhong Yuxiao’s identity from Xi Shi, he had a feeling something would happen tonight. As expected, it was a grand spectacle of flying vinegar.
Thrilling!
You Jiayu suppressed his desire to watch the drama unfold and tried to mediate. “Talk it out, don’t fight. This alcohol is quite expensive.”
None of the four people present were short on money. They could afford to smash all the bottles in the bar just for the sound. He was just trying to ease the tension.
One didn’t hit a smiling person. You Jiayu took the initiative to greet Zhong Yuxiao. He said he wasn’t interested, but Xi Shi’s possessive behavior clearly showed that he had feelings for Zhong Yuxiao.
He considered himself Xi Shi’s friend and should contribute to his brother’s love life.
“You go out first.”
Zhong Yuxiao’s reply not only drew a clear line between them but also doused the ambiguous feelings that had troubled Xi Shi for days with a bucket of cold water. Xi Shi licked his teeth, the lingering spiciness of the alcohol the only reminder of the ice and fire.
Like Zhong Yuxiao’s attitude towards him, it seemed hot, but it wasn’t.
Xi Shi glanced at Xu Linfeng, his tone unpleasant. “Take him with you.”
Besides the “big surprise” Xu Linfeng gave Zhong Yuxiao, Xi Shi had also mentally noted the few words Xu Linfeng used to “praise” him. He was like dormant magma beneath a volcano, about to erupt.
“I’m not leaving!” Xu Linfeng jumped up.
He was partly responsible for tonight’s events. If it weren’t for him inviting Zhong Yuxiao to Soul, if it weren’t for his surprise, if it weren’t for his words, things wouldn’t have escalated to this point.
If Zhong Yuxiao and Xi Shi really fought, their elders would tear him apart.
His attempt to cater to Zhong Yuxiao’s tastes had failed miserably. Xu Linfeng wasn’t amused, and he pleaded with a mournful face, “Calm down, don’t be impulsive. Take a step back and broaden your horizons. Night knows martial arts, he can beat ten of you.”
In this aspect, Zhong Yuxiao was quite gentlemanly, never taking the initiative to fight. As long as they could keep Xi Shi under control, the fight wouldn’t happen.
Speaking of which, Zhong Yuxiao seemed a bit unusual tonight.
Xu Linfeng couldn’t pinpoint what was unusual, but it seemed that things started to go wrong when Zhong Yuxiao allowed the dancer to approach him. Every word Zhong Yuxiao said to Xi Shi seemed like a deliberate provocation.
It reminded him of a mischievous little boy pulling a girl’s pigtails to get her attention.
Xu Linfeng shuddered. Impossible, he must be mistaken. The Zhong Yuxiao he knew wasn’t so childish.
Xi Shi looked at him as if he was an idiot, offering sincere advice. “You should buy a ticket back abroad as soon as possible. Even zombies wouldn’t be interested in you, and you still think you can compete with Xu Chengyue?”
Xu Linfeng didn’t understand. Why was he bringing up Xu Chengyue again?
Bad luck!
Zhong Yuxiao helpfully explained, “He’s saying you’re brainless.”
Xu Linfeng: “…”
They were all respectable figures in wealthy circles, how could they possibly fight physically? If it were that easy to start a fight, the incident of Xi Shi beating up Shi Chengze ten years ago wouldn’t still be a topic of conversation in the circle.
Even if they were to fight, they would do it behind closed doors, secretly, without letting anyone know.
He had heard that the eldest son of the Xu family was a useless fool, and he was indeed naive.
You Jiayu suppressed his laughter and dragged the dejected Xu Linfeng away, leaving only Zhong Yuxiao and Xi Shi facing each other in the booth.
Neither of them spoke, as if whoever spoke first would lose this farce.
Zhong Yuxiao was patient, adhering to the principle of “if the mountain won’t come to Muhammad, then Muhammad must go to the mountain.”
He saw jealousy in the playboy’s eyes. Everything that happened tonight pulled Xi Shi out of his cold and avoidant behavior from the past few days. Zhong Yuxiao was even more certain of his guess: Xi Shi pushing him away wasn’t out of rejection.
Curiosity was the best fuel for maintaining interest. Perhaps his interest in Xi Shi wouldn’t be just a fleeting whim.
After an unknown amount of time, the mountain finally moved. Xi Shi gritted his teeth and poked his phone fiercely.
A few seconds later, Zhong Yuxiao received a message.
[Gold-Inlaid Jade Radish: May I ask Teacher Zhong, what do you mean by “an arranged marriage partner forced on me by my family”?]
He was calling him “Gege Xi” just a few days ago.
Liar! Big liar!!
The more Xi Shi thought about it, the angrier he became. Recalling every interaction he had with Zhong Yuxiao, he felt like a naive man being toyed with, not even knowing Zhong Yuxiao’s true nature.
Nerd, fake.
Proper, abstinent, and rigid, fake.
Even Zhong Yuxiao’s well-behaved appearance was fucking fake.
What was real?
Zhong Yuxiao held his phone, a subtle smile playing at the corners of his eyes. “An arranged marriage partner forced on me by my family means a sham marriage partner, bound by three rules, mutual non-interference, and not coming home.”
He deliberately emphasized the words “not coming home,” bringing up Xi Shi’s avoidance of him these past few days.
Zhong Yuxiao opened the camera app, switched to selfie mode, and pointed it at Xi Shi. “Here, this is an example.”
Xi Shi: “…”
“See it clearly?”
Xi Shi couldn’t bear it any longer and grabbed the phone, his large hand covering the screen completely. As he pressed down, he saw the playful smile in Zhong Yuxiao’s eyes.
His heart suddenly calmed down. “I didn’t do it on purpose.”
Who would have a psychological barrier to kissing? Xi Shi couldn’t afford to lose face like that.
“I was just suddenly immersed in my work, wanting to achieve something great, to let you experience the feeling of being the young mistress of the Xi family.”
“…”
Xi Shi was immersed in his own made-up story. “You’re now juggling both family and career, a true academic vixen.”
“…”
Zhong Yuxiao pulled his hand back and sneered. “I think you also have the look of someone who will ruin the country. Be careful at the company, you might bankrupt Chenxi International.”
Xi Shi choked, abandoning his attempt to deceive him. “Just kidding. Don’t you know you’re supposed to tell a joke to lighten the mood before announcing important news?”
I’ve never heard of that rule.
Zhong Yuxiao leaned back in the booth, stretching his long arms over the back of the seat. He came straight from school, hadn’t changed his shirt, just unbuttoned two buttons.
Xi Shi’s gaze lingered on his collar. “Have you heard of carsickness?”
Zhong Yuxiao didn’t know why he brought this up and raised his eyebrows, playing along. “You get carsick?”
Was the one who sped on the mountain road Xi Shi’s alter ego?
Zhong Yuxiao was amused by his own thoughts. The young master was so unpredictable, he really seemed a bit schizophrenic.
“I—” Xi Shi pointed at himself, a bit embarrassed. “I get mouthsick.”
Tsk tsk, he hadn’t realized how accurate You Jiayu’s description was before.
“I’m afraid of dying on you.”
“…”
Zhong Yuxiao’s lips twitched. He never dreamed of such a ridiculous scenario.
He didn’t say whether he believed it or not and beckoned to Xi Shi. “Come here.”
Xi Shi was speechless. Was he training a dog?
He snorted, put his foot on the booth, rested his elbow on his knee, leaned closer, and asked aggressively, “What?”
“Let’s try it.”
Try what?
Before Xi Shi could ask, his neck was grabbed. Zhong Yuxiao held the back of his neck, forcing him to lower his head with an irresistible force.
Zhong Yuxiao leaned in, his handsome features magnified in front of Xi Shi’s eyes. He saw a determined glint in those golden eyes, like a sharp knife, unstoppable once unsheathed.
“Let’s see if I’m capable of killing you.”
Xi Shi didn’t have time to struggle.
Or rather, he didn’t even think about struggling.
The calmness of the past few days hadn’t extinguished his restless thoughts. The more he suppressed them, the stronger they became. Zhong Yuxiao’s approach was the trigger, igniting the madness in Xi Shi’s heart. His throat itched, and his blood boiled.
Trying it once, it shouldn’t be a problem, right?
If something did happen, he would be the first person to die from a kiss. That would be too embarrassing.
Xi Shi’s thoughts were in turmoil when he suddenly felt a coolness on his lips.
His first reaction was: so soft.
Fireworks exploded in his mind, repeating three words – kissed, kissed, kissed…
“Holy shit, they kissed!”
You Jiayu, who was secretly observing the situation, shouted.
Xu Linfeng covered his ears, pretending to be calm. “It’s just a kiss, what’s the big deal?”
His inner thoughts: Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit! They kissed!!
Did Zhong Yuxiao’s OCD die? Or did Xi Shi wear a condom on his mouth?
He wouldn’t be surprised if they fought, but they were actually kissing.
Zhong Yuxiao kept his eyes open. He didn’t miss the expression on Xi Shi’s face: panic, shock, confusion… Xi Shi hadn’t lied to him, his “mouthsickness” was real.
Would he really kiss him to death?
Zhong Yuxiao was worried, hesitating whether to continue.
Almost thirty years old, experienced in everything, yet more innocent than a high school student having their first kiss, just touching lips without moving.
Xi Shi didn’t feel any pleasure, but it was thrilling. From the moment Zhong Yuxiao kissed him, his mind went blank, his nervous system paralyzed, purely from the psychological impact.
Forget it, they had already kissed.
Whatever.
Zhong Yuxiao made up his mind and pinched the back of Xi Shi’s neck.
This was a signal. Xi Shi tensed up, and the next second, his lower lip was caught between Zhong Yuxiao’s teeth.
Zhong Yuxiao gently nibbled on the soft lip, the slight sting making Xi Shi tense up. Zhong Yuxiao soothingly rubbed the back of his neck, the skin there soft, covering the slightly protruding bone.
Just like the feeling Xi Shi gave him, a gentle exterior with sharp edges underneath.
Zhong Yuxiao was captivated by that and, taking advantage of Xi Shi’s momentary daze, forcefully breached the barrier of his lips and teeth.
Their first kiss, without any skill, purely driven by instinct, inevitably seemed a bit rough.
The sudden pain forced Xi Shi to stay awake.
The expected dizziness didn’t come. He was clearly aware that Zhong Yuxiao was kissing him passionately.
Zhong Yuxiao, with his disguise removed, was a true refined scoundrel, his innate aggressiveness no longer restrained. He held Xi Shi’s head with one hand and his lower back with the other, completely controlling him.
Xi Shi was stimulated by his aggressiveness and instinctively struggled.
A man who regularly practiced martial arts had surprising strength and easily suppressed him. Zhong Yuxiao intensified the kiss, becoming even more aggressive.
From Xu Linfeng and You Jiayu’s perspective, it looked like Xi Shi was being held in Zhong Yuxiao’s arms, their posture even more provocative than the lap dance.
Xu Linfeng: Oh!
So this was what Zhong Yuxiao looked like when he was truly passionate.
You Jiayu: Woah!
My poor bro, what are you doing? Do you still remember you’re a top?
You’re being kissed until your legs are weak!
I guess I thought too much about Xi Shi’s reaction to Zhong Yuxiao’s description of their relationship, lol. I’m just glad it wasn’t anything like I was imagining and they’re actually more honest with each other than I gave them credit. Now the only concern in their relationship, in terms of physical intimacy, is for Xi Shi to accept his eventual role as the bottom, lol.
Thanks for the chapter!
