Recently, due to a bug when splitting chapters, it was only possible to upload using whole numbers, which is why recent releases ended up with a higher chapter number than the actual chapter number. The chapters already uploaded and their respective novels can no longer be fixed unless we edit and re-upload them chapter by chapter(Chapters content are okay, just the number in the list is incorrect), but that would take a lot of time. Therefore, those uploaded in that way will remain as they are. The bug has been fixed(lasted 1 day), as seen with the recently uploaded novels, which can be split into parts and everything works as usual. From now on, all new content will be uploaded in correct order as before the bug happens. If time permits in the future, we may attempt to reorganize the previously affected chapters.

Chapter 4

Yu Xi and Yi Chen’s initial encounter was far from friendly.

After entering the hall, the atmosphere between them was equally charged with tension.

In the center of the hall, the production team had prepared a medieval-style rectangular long table for the guests.

Yu Xi and Yi Chen sat at opposite ends, as far apart as possible, neither willing to glance at the other.

The other guests seated in the middle: “…”

According to the contract, the prelude live stream started directly with the guest introductions, and there were only five minutes left until broadcast. The atmosphere in the hall was truly awkward.

Yu Xi and Yi Chen had long been at odds and ignored each other. The other guests weren’t very familiar with one another either—only exchanging greetings upon first meeting. They could chat a bit at first, but as time dragged on, they ran out of topics. Worried about saying the wrong thing, the table full of people either stared blankly or scrolled on their phones.

Fortunately, the production team didn’t leave this segment entirely to the guests. They had arranged a host in advance. Soon, the live stream began, and the host appeared on camera, calmly handling the awkward atmosphere.

“Hello, viewers. I’m the prelude guide, Yan Yan. I’m thrilled to meet everyone via live stream and honored to introduce the guests behind me. Next, we’ll join you all for an exciting journey!”

The moment Where to Go This Weekend‘s prelude went live, countless bullet comments flooded in.

【Aaaah, I’ve been waiting forever!! It’s finally starting!!!】

【Where’s the first episode going!!!】

【Sister is so beautiful! I love her! Sister, look at the camera!】

【Lele! Mommy’s here!!!!】

【Holy crap, Yu Xi and Yi Chen are really here. Which genius put those two together? Did the directors forget about the stage fight?】

【They fight everywhere lol, even at award ceremonies!! More drama incoming, I love it!!】

【Sisters! Frontline reports say our Fishy and Yi Chen are wearing matching outfits. Probably agency-mandated for harmony. Fishy can endure for work, so we fans must too! Truce with Yi Chen’s fans during the show!】

【What do you mean Yu Xi is enduring? Yi Chen’s the one suffering here, okay?】

【Okay, okay! Stop arguing first. Didn’t we say truce? Watch the show properly!】

“Before we officially set off, let me introduce the guests.”

The host stood up, leading the cameraman to film and introduce each one.

Weekend Go Where had six regular guests.

Yu Xi and Yi Chen, the two top Alpha celebrities, needed no extra introduction.

Fu Le, an Omega, was the pampered young heir of a wealthy family with a delicate personality. He had starred in a few idol dramas in recent years and was quite popular among young people.

Fang Peng, a Beta, was a respected veteran artist and heartthrob of the older generation. He had won countless awards in his youth and was now retired, participating in the show casually.

Wu Zhiqi, a Beta, was a female idol who had exploded in popularity after debuting first place on a recent survival show.

Song Xuan, a Beta, was a variety show staple with few standout works but plenty of viral moments. He had a great personality and was a regular on multiple shows.

In addition to the six regulars, each episode featured one or two flying guests, but since this was the prelude live stream, none were scheduled yet.

After the brief introductions, Yan Yan said, “I heard everyone brought meeting gifts. Let’s see what they are!”

Up to this point, it was a standard icebreaker segment, with a harmonious atmosphere and friendly interactions among the members.

Fu Le brought everyone a delicately packaged small fruit basket.

Idol Wu Zhiqi brought pheromone perfumes, selecting scents suited to each person.

Veteran artist Fang Peng brought unique traditional Chinese-style bookmarks.

Variety star Song Xuan gave everyone fun toys.

“And you two?” The host turned to Yu Xi and Yi Chen.

He had originally planned to follow up with: Who wants to show their gift first?

But before he could speak, Yu Xi and Yi Chen simultaneously pulled out their prepared sunscreen kits—sunscreen clothing, hats, and lotion sets.

The host: “?”

The other guests: “?”

Yu Xi: “?”

Yi Chen: “?”

Dressed in matching outfits and holding identical gifts, they stared at each other and spoke in unison.

Yu Xi: “Are you copying me?”

Yi Chen: “Are you copying me?”

Everyone: “…”

Not far away, the director frantically gestured for the host to intervene.

Stop them, stop them!!

This is the prelude to a fight!!!!

But Yu Xi spoke first, even before the host.

With a scoff, Yu Xi said, “What about you is worth copying? To avoid being outshone by me, you’ve been studying outfits for days, huh? Researched my style for a long time? Looks like you nailed it today.”

Yi Chen kept his smile: “Working out hard these days? Worried about looking weak next to me? After all, I’m a full 4 centimeters taller than you.”

Yu Xi refused to back down: “It’s 3.85 centimeters. Can’t you use precise numbers?”

Yi Chen: “Fine, you admit it. I’m taller than you.”

Yu Xi’s temple twitched: “So what? Is that your excuse for deliberately matching my outfit and gift?”

“The gift is great—we’re traveling, right? Sunscreen is essential. Matching is normal. You’re so obsessed, always saying I’m deliberately watching you, studying you, copying you…” Yi Chen raised one eyebrow. “Fishy, do you want my attention that badly?”

Yu Xi: “…Your face fell off. Don’t pick it up.”

The two went back and forth, neither yielding. Wu Zhiqi found it amusing and burst out laughing. “Haha, you two don’t seem like arch-enemies. More like exes reuniting after years apart, still with that old chemistry.”

Yu Xi: “?”

Yi Chen: “?”

Both their expressions darkened simultaneously.

Yu Xi: “What did you say? Who has chemistry with him??”

Yi Chen: “Heh, who broke up with him??”

Yu Xi slammed the table and stood. “I’d jump out that window before having anything to do with you.”

Yi Chen lifted his chin: “With your temper, you couldn’t spark a single spark of love with anyone else.”

Yu Xi sneered: “As if you’re so popular.”

Yi Chen stared straight at Yu Xi: “Don’t you know how popular I am?”

Yu Xi: “Watch your expressions before speaking. This is live—careful, or you’ll get memed.”

Yi Chen: “Like when you lost that award show fight?”

Lost?

Who lost?!

Yu Xi laughed in fury: “You’ve got plenty of memes too. Want me to WeChat them to you?”

“Sure, come on, scan my code.” Yi Chen opened his QR code and pushed his phone toward Yu Xi.

The moment Yu Xi saw the profile picture in the center of the QR code, he exploded.

Yi Chen’s avatar was that exact meme from the award ceremony.

Yu Xi’s vision blurred with rage, his expression crumbling. His eyes half-closed, pupils hidden behind lowered lids, leaving only the whites visible, mouth pursed.

Caption below: Lost? Did I freaking lose?

Yu Xi jerked his head up: “You use that as your profile pic?!”

Yi Chen crossed his arms, watching Yu Xi leisurely: “What’s wrong? Illegal to use a meme as an avatar? Go ahead and call the cops on me.”

At that moment, Fu Le pulled out his phone, eyes full of expectation, voice sweet and coy: “Yi Chen-ge, I’ve never added you on WeChat either. Can I add you too?”

Yi Chen glanced up, his gaze sweeping toward Fu Le.

Yu Xi shifted his eyes, looking coldly at Fu Le.

The two gazes clamped down on Fu Le from front and back, stiffening his spine.

Yu Xi and Yi Chen spoke at the same time.

“I’m in the middle of arguing with Yu Xi.”

“I’m in the middle of arguing with Yi Chen.”

Fu Le: “…”

Everyone: “…”

The farce finally ended with the director’s “Cut.”

The introduction segment was over. Per the flow, all the guests should now head to the outdoor shoot.

The host distributed travel kits to each guest, and behind him, the screen lit up.

The prelude live stream took place in A City. The production team played an introduction video for A City, and a local cultural and tourism bureau representative introduced the famous landmarks to the guests.

“Do you know why the production team chose A City for the prelude?” The host looked mysteriously at the guests.

“Why, why?” Song Xuan, true to his variety show expertise, hyped the atmosphere perfectly, feigning eager anticipation. “Is there another surprise?”

“Yes!”

“Not only is A City a perfect tourist spot that fits Weekend Go Where‘s theme and pace, most importantly, it’s right in the center of everyone’s hometowns. A two-hour drive at most to reach any of your hometowns.”

Without giving anyone time to react, the host continued: “For today’s first stop, please head to your local police station and People’s Bank to get no-criminal-record certificates and pull your credit reports. Only if everything’s clean can you continue with the show!”

All the guests: “?”
