Recently, due to a bug when splitting chapters, it was only possible to upload using whole numbers, which is why recent releases ended up with a higher chapter number than the actual chapter number. The chapters already uploaded and their respective novels can no longer be fixed unless we edit and re-upload them chapter by chapter(Chapters content are okay, just the number in the list is incorrect), but that would take a lot of time. Therefore, those uploaded in that way will remain as they are. The bug has been fixed(lasted 1 day), as seen with the recently uploaded novels, which can be split into parts and everything works as usual. From now on, all new content will be uploaded in correct order as before the bug happens. If time permits in the future, we may attempt to reorganize the previously affected chapters.

Chapter 23: Jiang Shunnian is My Lover Part 3

Cicadas buzzed in the summer air alongside Fu Yanli’s gentle timbre. Jiang Shunnian perked up, smiling. “Okay.”

His Nono deserves all the good in the world!

Fu Yanli watched quietly, thinking the same.

The next day, the designer arrived from Country F with assistants, bringing showpieces and unreleased designs. Jiang Shunnian tried them on one by one—each stunned.

But the most eye-catching and unforgettable was the collector’s edition Pure White Wings. The lapel of the suit was designed in the shape of layered pale blue wings, with fabric as smooth and shimmering as moonlit silver. It perfectly complemented Jiang Shunnian’s features, stunning everyone into silence.

Fu Yanli had seen plenty of beauties, but none compared to Jiang Shunnian.

It even made him reluctant to blink.

Shen Lingyi found it a visual feast as well. Smiling, she said, “This set is perfect. It even has a matching Fallen Feather. Yanli, go try it on.”

Fu Yanli went upstairs to the walk-in closet and changed into the black-and-gold ensemble. As he descended the stairs at a leisurely pace, the scene felt like it had transported back to the Middle Ages—like a noble patrolling his domain, resplendent and regal, too dazzling to behold directly.

The middle-aged designer, a blond, blue-eyed man from Country F, kept praising from his mouth, “C’est parfait!” (It’s perfect!)

Even Jiang Shunnian was momentarily dazzled, unable to resist stealing a few glances.

Thus, the two suits were finalized, to be remade to fit their exact heights and measurements.

As for Nono’s little suit, the designer said he already had inspiration in mind and promised it would stun the entire venue when the young master wore it.

With the tight timeline, the designer didn’t linger. After noting down the three men’s measurements, he left with his assistant.

Fu Yanli had business at the company, so he bid Jiang Shunnian farewell and departed.

Jiang Shunnian then sought out Shen Boheng to ask about banquet etiquette, receiving a thorough and flawless explanation.

He had stayed at the Fu Family for three days, days filled with unparalleled comfort and happiness. Fu Shizhang had ordered Nono a children’s sports car worth seven figures—top speed only twenty miles per hour, but it could carry passengers. Nono was clever and mastered it quickly, zipping Jiang Shunnian along the mountain forest paths to admire the scenery.

He even felt a bit unaccustomed when he returned home.

But he had already received notice from the production team: filming for the next episode of the variety show would start in five days.

This trip’s destination was the Great Grassland.

As Jiang Shunnian boarded the plane to the grassland, Shen Boheng personally delivered the Fu Family’s invitations to each household.

The gold-embossed invitations bearing the family crest went first to the Qin Family.

Qin Guanyue opened his with a darkened expression. Sure enough, it announced the Fu Family’s banquet in seven days to celebrate the joyous arrival of a son, cordially inviting their attendance.

Qin Guanyue found it utterly unbelievable. If Jiang Shunnian had hooked up with Fu Yanli long ago, why had he been forced out of the industry by him back then?

But he had to attend this banquet. He needed to know exactly what was going on between them.

Qin Huan was there today too. Ever since seeing Nono at the recording site that day, his obsession had only grown. He’d rewatched the aired episodes obsessively these past few days.

Seeing Qin Guanyue’s foul mood, he asked, “Uncle, what’s wrong?”

“The kid you like has overnight become the Fu Family’s child,” Qin Guanyue said to Qin Huan with a cold sneer. “You can’t have him now.”

Qin Huan’s face changed. “Then we’ll bring down the Fu Family.”

The still-childish voice carried a hint of viciousness.

Though young, he wasn’t from an ordinary family. He’d seen plenty and witnessed the Qin Family directly bankrupting rivals to seize interests.

So he assumed it would be the same this time.

Qin Guanyue laughed heartily. “Good, that’s the spirit. Since the Fu Family snatched my prized toy, let’s make them disappear.”

“Uncle, can I go to the banquet too?”

“Of course. Your uncle dotes on you the most.”

The servants working at the Qin Family kept their eyes down and noses straight, lightening their steps and breaths, terrified of drawing ire.

If not for the decent pay, they really wouldn’t want to work here—the demands were too high, the pressure immense.

In their downtime, they chatted and knew the Fu Family offered better treatment and kinder employers. But with almost no turnover there, they had no chance to jump ship.

Good luck to that Fu Family, they thought.

Jiang Shunnian was oblivious to the Qin Family drama. At that moment, he was dressed in sleek riding gear atop a chestnut stallion, galloping while drawing his bow to shoot arrows.

His belt accentuated his impossibly slim waist, and the motion of drawing the bow full made him look like a dashing young general.

Yes, today’s “house robbing” game was a grassland-style archery-on-horseback challenge. Targets were five meters away, marked with ten rings—the higher the score, the better the house you could claim.

Jiang Shunnian had learned horseback riding for a drama but wasn’t proficient, and he’d never tried mounted archery. He practiced a few times before official recording began.

Nono had changed into local ethnic attire, cupping his hands to his mouth like a little megaphone, shouting at the top of his lungs, “Daddy, go for it!”

Jiang Shunnian narrowed his eyes slightly, drew the bow full, timed it perfectly, and released. With a sharp whoosh, the arrow sliced through the wind and struck true— an astonishing seven-ring shot!

After dismounting, award-winning actor Li Jiaming approached with a grin. “Gotta hand it to you young folks—that aim is spot on.”

Li Jiaming had only managed three rings.

“I got lucky,” Jiang Shunnian smiled.

Jiang Shunnian had missed the previous episode, and the other guests knew it was because Qin Guanyue had taken a liking to him but he refused to compromise. Many had assumed he wouldn’t return—Qin Guanyue’s reputation preceded him.

Who knew he’d hooked up with the Fu Family, even getting Fu Corporation to inject more funding into the show.

Entertainment circle news traveled fast. From crew to guests, everyone was much warmer toward him upon his return. He knew it was inevitable and couldn’t change it, so he just adjusted his mindset and focused on his role.

The competition ended with Jiang Shunnian claiming the best lodging—a lavish yurt.

Nono was thrilled with the place, even saying, “It’d be great if Grandpa, Grandma, and Big Dad could come stay too.”

Jiang Shunnian hurriedly clamped a hand over the little one’s mouth, embarrassed to ask the cameraman for a retake.

Forgot to remind Nono not to mention the Fu Family.

But the slip-up was harmless. That afternoon’s game was herding sheep back to the pen with the help of shepherd dogs.

The dogs were all black-and-white Border Collies, their dark eyes gleaming with intelligence. They adored kids too.

The kiddos fed them jerky treats, Nono’s face beaming with a huge smile the whole time.

The ranch owner taught a few hand signals and commands, and the dads studied diligently.

But the Border Collies were shockingly smart. Instead of herding properly, they made the dads chase the flock in a fluster while circling them with grinning mouths, as if laughing.

Finally, Nono grabbed his megaphone and yelled, “Good doggies, no teasing Daddy—we’ll grill meat for you tonight!”

Only then did the Border Collies cooperate, successfully driving the sheep into the pen.

The dads were drenched in sweat, while the dogs strolled leisurely back to play with the kids.

“I’ve always heard Border Collies are smart, but today I see they even create show moments,” Lu Chen panted with a laugh.

Liu Sirui nodded. “There was one that filmed its own videos and live-streamed—smart as a fox.”

The dads trudged back to the kids and collapsed on the ground.

Exhausted, the production team arranged a bonfire party that night with whole roasted lambs. Locals held wrestling matches, grassland girls in ethnic costumes danced, and the little ones bounced among them, mimicking perfectly.

The roast lamb was delicious—Jiang Shunnian overindulged.

After filming wrapped, Nono grew drowsy but insisted on his lesson. He grabbed Jiang Shunnian’s phone and deftly video-called Big Dad.

Fu Yanli had been waiting and picked up instantly. “Good evening, Nono.”

His deep, magnetic voice was music to the ears of voice lovers.

“Good evening, teacher.”

Nono glanced at the fixed camera and corrected himself.

Clips of Nono’s nightly lessons had aired as bonus content, quickly amassing fans. The studious little one was irresistible, sparking a study craze that even official channels promoted. Nono now had the highest popularity among all guests.

“Tonight’s oral practice,” Nono announced, switching to English for conversation practice with Fu Yanli.

Nono’s voice was childish yet fluent and authentic; Fu Yanli’s was deep and rich—a sheer delight to hear.

It was Jiang Shunnian’s first time hearing them converse. He didn’t catch it all, but it was captivating.

When the episode aired, fans went wild demanding “Nono’s teacher’s” contact info. Even Jiang Shunnian’s Weibo comments exploded, including brazen ones like: [I can’t even imagine how good that voice would sound gasping in bed!]

Lesson over, Nono almost blurted “Big Dad” but caught himself, saying “teacher” instead.

“Thanks, teacher.” Nono eyed the camera again. Jiang Shunnian stepped over and shut off recording.

Nono finally relaxed, joyfully shouting, “Big Dad!”

“Good boy, Nono,” Fu Yanli said. “Did you have fun today?”

“So much fun! Daddy was awesome at horse archery and got the best house,” Nono eagerly shared. “The doggies are super smart—they even teased us. Daddy chased the sheep forever. And the roast lamb was yummy!”

Fu Yanli listened intently. Spotting Jiang Shunnian pass by, he smiled and asked, “Shunnian, tired today?”

Such caring words always touched him. Jiang Shunnian suddenly recalled the first episode, when dads could call their wives at night—except him, with no one to call. If he’d met Fu Yanli then, maybe he’d have dialed him.

He shook his head with a smile. “Not too bad.”

After a pause, he asked, “You? Work tiring?”

A polite return.

Fu Yanli chuckled lowly. “Not at all. Thinking of you and Nono even gives me more drive.”

Jiang Shunnian’s ears burned red. He abruptly ended the call.

Three days of filming ended, and Jiang Shunnian boarded the return flight with Nono. But this time was different—someone was there to pick them up upon landing.

Shen Boheng drove them to Fu Family Manor. Shen Lingyi scooped Nono up and kissed his cheek. “Did Nono miss Grandma?”

“Yes! I missed Grandpa, Grandma, Big Dad, and Grandpa Shen,” Nono said, planting a kiss on her cheek. “Daddy and I brought souvenirs too.”

Jiang Shunnian had asked the crew about local specialties and bought plenty for the Fu Family. He knew they didn’t need them, but it was the thought that counted.

“Thank you, Nono.” Shen Lingyi beamed. “Oh, Shunnian, the clothes arrived—try them on and see if any adjustments are needed. The banquet’s nearly ready; ask Boheng for details or raise any issues anytime.”

“Got it, Aunt.”

The clothes fit Jiang Shunnian perfectly, no tweaks required. Shen Lingyi booked a top industry stylist to ensure he shone as the banquet’s focal point.

Fu Yanli brought back a Blue Sapphire Brooch, pinned to the lapel’s wings, enhancing his regal air.

Nono’s outfit cleverly blended white, blue, and gold. The shoulders extended into little wing shapes, making him look like a descended angel—clearly the child of those two.

For the impending banquet, Jiang Shunnian steadied his mindset, suppressing all nerves and fears. He’d once cowered from Qin Guanyue’s designs, but fate had caught up anyway.

So be it—nothing left to fear. He had Nono, the Fu Family. He wasn’t fighting alone anymore. He would face it bravely.

Thus, the night before the banquet, Jiang Shunnian knocked on Fu Yanli’s door for the first time. Facing the handsome, elegant man, he said, “Mr. Fu, how intimate should we act at the banquet? Do we need to kiss?”
