Drunken Dream Island was not located at sea. Instead, it was situated within a massive lake in the southern regions, a body of water dotted with numerous small islands. The four largest islands were occupied by the four Island Lords, while buildings had been constructed across the remaining smaller islets as well.
If one did not wish to live on the four main islands, they could also reside on the smaller islets. The various island lords had designated the entire lake as the territory of Drunken Dream Island, and bridges were even built between some of the islands that were close to one another. For those spaced further apart, one would either have to take a boat or use their Lightness Skill to fly across.
Once he understood the situation, Lian Li realized that until he achieved some proficiency in his Lightness Skill, Yun Huizhou would have to serve as his personal transport. He also understood the true meaning behind Yun Huizhou’s warning: that without good Lightness Skill, he shouldn’t even dream of leaving the island.
Yun Huizhou brought him back to his own courtyard. The architectural style was similar to the South Island Lord’s, but there were more waterside pavilions here, connected by winding wooden corridors. There were many gazebos scattered across the water, and he even spotted a pavilion in the center of the lake that seemed to float right on the surface.
Yun Huizhou had arranged for him to stay in a pavilion in the middle of the lake. Its doors and windows were wide open on all sides, making the interior exceptionally bright.
To be honest, setting aside the fact that it was surrounded by water, the scenery was top-notch.
Leaving was also very convenient; once he mastered his Lightness Skill, he could fly directly from the pavilion to the island in less than thirty seconds.
If he never managed to master the Lightness Skill, he would be forced to take the long corridor, which would take about a five-minute detour. Lian Li suspected Yun Huizhou was doing it on purpose, so he asked, “You’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you?”
Yun Huizhou didn’t give a direct answer, merely patting him on the shoulder as he said, “Practice hard.”
The next day, Lian Li rose early, ready to begin his martial arts training. As soon as he finished washing up and stepped outside, he found Yun Huizhou standing atop the roof of the pavilion across from him, cradling his blade. Seeing Lian Li emerge, he leaped down and landed before him. “Come,” he said. “I’m taking you to see the spectacle.”
As Yun Huizhou carried him across the lake, Lian Li asked, “Are we practicing martial arts today?”
Yun Huizhou landed on a small boat anchored near the West Island Lord and said, “Once we’re done watching the show, I’ll teach you how to circulate your internal energy.”
The moment he finished speaking, a building on the West Island collapsed.
Two figures soared straight into the sky, truly resembling immortals locked in a magical duel. Massive phantoms of palms, fists, tiger heads, dragon heads, and leopard heads flickered in and out of sight across the heavens.
It was like watching a damn special effects movie; Lian Li was left utterly dumbstruck.
He suddenly felt that the way Yun Huizhou and Zhao Honglan had fought at the Martial Arts Assembly, flying back and forth, was simply weak as hell in comparison.
The West Island Lord was an exquisitely beautiful woman. Not only was she beautiful, but she also possessed a unique temperament—one that was contradictory, yet so captivating that it was impossible to look away.
The South Island Lord held a small bottle in his left hand while sparring with the West Island Lord with his right.
Seeing Yun Huizhou arrive, he forced the West Island Lord back with a single move and then tossed the small bottle toward him.
Yun Huizhou soared into the air in an instant, catching the bottle before landing back on the small boat and thrusting it into Lian Li’s hand.
Immediately, Lian Li felt a deathly gaze lock onto him, scaring him so much that his hair stood on end. Without a second thought, he shoved the bottle back into Yun Huizhou’s hand and said, “Here, it’s yours.”
Yun Huizhou did not try to push the bottle back again; instead, he calmly opened it. As soon as he made this move, the West Island Lord’s assault on the South Island Lord grew even more ferocious, accompanied by her furious shouting.
“Nanrong! You shameless scoundrel, you’ve come to steal my medicine again!”
The only response she received was the South Island Lord’s silence.
Of course, that was only the silence as Lian Li perceived it.
Yun Huizhou dutifully acted as a translator by his side. “Master says he robbed it; he didn’t steal it.”
However, Lian Li’s attention was not on that at all; he was focused on the West Island Lord’s voice.
This… this was a man’s voice!
He turned to look at the West Island Lord. Although they were far apart, it was not hard to see that the West Island Lord was clearly a woman with a graceful figure.
Yun Huizhou seemed to know what he was thinking and said, “The West Island Lord is a man; he simply dresses as a woman.”
Lian Li exclaimed, “Holy crap! A cross-dressing legend!”
Just as he finished speaking, Yun Huizhou popped something into his mouth. It was bitter.
He instinctively wanted to spit it out, but Yun Huizhou covered his mouth. “It’s medicine to assist your martial arts training; it can also condition your body.”
Gulp—
Lian Li swallowed it right down, then looked at Yun Huizhou. “Is there any more? It’s delicious.”
“Nanrong! You stinking beggar!” the West Island Lord continued to curse as he fought.
Yun Huizhou continued to dutifully translate the South Island Lord’s silence for Lian Li. “Master says he hasn’t begged for food in many years.”
He paused for a moment, then suddenly hoisted Lian Li up and flew off toward the South Island.
“Master told us to stop watching the commotion and get out of here, fast.”
Suddenly hoisted up by his belt by Yun Huizhou, Lian Li felt as if his internal organs were being squeezed out of him. He nearly threw up the medicine he had just swallowed.
Fortunately, Yun Huizhou went full throttle this time and quickly made it back to the pavilion. No sooner had they regained their footing than a waterspout appeared in the direction of the West Island, with two figures soaring in the air on either side of it.
Lian Li: “Amazing~”
This world had turned into a fantasy!
Lian Li didn’t know how long the two Island Lords had been fighting, for he was already attempting to cultivate internal energy under Yun Huizhou’s guidance. It was only when Yun Huizhou’s internal energy entered his body once more that Lian Li discovered that, besides the wisp of guiding internal energy Yun Huizhou had channeled in, there was another current of energy present within him.
“This is the effect of the pill from earlier. Control this strand of qi and follow my internal energy. If luck is on your side, with the help of this qi, you will be able to produce a faint trace of your own internal energy after completing one cycle of the internal cultivation method.”
Lian Li hurriedly focused his mind, feeling the path of Yun Huizhou’s internal energy as it circulated through his body.
Yun Huizhou’s internal energy moved very slowly, almost entwined with that strand of qi, leading it along.
Consequently, just guiding him through a single cycle of the Internal Cultivation Method took half a day. Lian Li discovered that he had actually produced a sliver of his own internal energy. After finishing the session, Yun Huizhou looked at him and said, “You’re quite lucky to have succeeded on the first try. Otherwise, Master would probably have had to pick another fight with the West Island Lord.”
In the afternoon, after Yun Huizhou guided Lian Li through another round of his cultivation method, dusk was already approaching. The two were in the middle of their meal when Yun Huizhou suddenly set down his chopsticks and stood up, staring outside the pavilion with a solemn expression.
