Recently, due to a bug when splitting chapters, it was only possible to upload using whole numbers, which is why recent releases ended up with a higher chapter number than the actual chapter number. The chapters already uploaded and their respective novels can no longer be fixed unless we edit and re-upload them chapter by chapter(Chapters content are okay, just the number in the list is incorrect), but that would take a lot of time. Therefore, those uploaded in that way will remain as they are. The bug has been fixed(lasted 1 day), as seen with the recently uploaded novels, which can be split into parts and everything works as usual. From now on, all new content will be uploaded in correct order as before the bug happens. If time permits in the future, we may attempt to reorganize the previously affected chapters.

Chapter 12

You Fuzhou held him for a while longer, waiting until Yu Yan’s tears stopped, before speaking softly: “Eat something?”

Yu Yan nodded obediently. You Fuzhou asked if he could turn on the light, and he nodded obediently again, saying it was fine. He had the attitude that anything You Fuzhou said was okay.

You Fuzhou turned on the light, his gaze sweeping over Yu Yan’s red-eyed face before immediately shifting away.

This thought was a bit perverted… but he really looked even more beautiful like this.

Yu Yan sensed You Fuzhou’s mental fluctuations and subtly raised his brow, saying nothing. Every Sentinel had some malicious instinct.

Possession, destruction, obsession… that’s how people described it when Sentinel-Guide bonds were still normal.

Sentinels were like demons from hell, while Guides were like angels. Guides would soothe all of a Sentinel’s pain and “sins,” acting as guides, yet also as the light firmly locked in the demon’s embrace.

Of course, that was a stereotype.

After all, Yu Yan felt like he was more like that demon right now.

Using every means to bind You Fuzhou to his side.

Never mind whether it was like or not—he wanted to possess him first.

You Fuzhou asked if Yu Yan wanted to go to the cafeteria, and Yu Yan showed a bit of embarrassment: “I cried so ugly…”

“…No.” You Fuzhou didn’t dare say he looked even more beautiful now, because that really was perverted. “Then I’ll have my Spiritual Body get some food for you.”

You Fuzhou didn’t even realize that, with the guardian bond established, he had already started marking his territory.

He could have asked someone else for help, but his first thought was his Spiritual Body, which wasn’t even that convenient.

But Yu Yan, who noticed, wouldn’t remind him. He just smiled gently and gratefully: “Okay.”

You Fuzhou asked again: “What do you want to eat?”

Yu Yan said: “Anything is fine.”

But in his mind, he was thinking of ways to make You Fuzhou stop asking and just decide for him in the future.

If You Fuzhou showed that kind of possessiveness toward him… it would feel so good.

You Fuzhou didn’t ask further and instead had his Spiritual Body bring back some easily digestible food.

He walked to the table and casually pulled out a chair for Yu Yan: “Sit.”

Yu Yan gazed at You Fuzhou, whose every casual movement exuded a dashing elegance no one else could imitate, and sat down in a great mood: “Does your Spiritual Body not have a name?”

You Fuzhou nodded: “I’m not good at naming.”

Yu Yan’s eyes lit up: “Can I name it?”

This felt too intimate.

But inexplicably, You Fuzhou could imagine what Yu Yan would say and do if he refused… He’d drunk a bit too much of the tea Yu Yan brewed today—better not.

“Sure.”

You Fuzhou nodded.

After all, he’d even agreed to the guardian bond—what else couldn’t he agree to?

Yu Yan thought for a moment, then teased You Fuzhou: “How about Mianmian? The ‘mian’ from ‘coronet,’ handsome and cute.”

But he didn’t expect You Fuzhou to nod just like that: “Yeah, that’s a good name.”

Yu Yan: “.”

He knew You Fuzhou was sincere and didn’t know what to say for a moment.

As for asking the White Lion’s opinion—it was the embodiment of You Fuzhou’s spirit, which meant… it would like it.

You Fuzhou really did think it was great, just like Yu Yan said. He didn’t care much about names anyway; as long as Yu Yan was happy.

If he had to say he cared about any name…

You Fuzhou considered: “Your name… who gave it to you?”

Yu Yan paused slightly, lowering his eyes a bit, and told the truth: “I gave it to myself… I hate myself.”

For a long time, Yu Yan had hated himself.

Hated being a successful product, hated being a Guide, hated this face of his.

But he didn’t really want to die, so after hating himself for a few years, Yu Yan decided not to reconcile with himself or the world—instead, he’d make the whole world hate him.

So he wanted to destroy it all.

The Yashe Empire occupied three planets. If those three planets fell… with precise calculations, they could be used as three “bombs” for a STRIKE.

Yu Yan felt happy just thinking about it.

But You Fuzhou’s appearance—the arrival of someone like You Fuzhou—halted Yu Yan’s plan.

He pulled him out.

In every sense of the word.

You Fuzhou was quiet for a few seconds. He could easily understand Yu Yan’s words, because he’d hated himself for a long time too.

But looking at Yu Yan, he felt that hating himself was completely unnecessary. Because… someone would care.

You Fuzhou wasn’t good at comforting people. He could only say it clumsily and straightforwardly: “Don’t hate yourself.”

He added: “You’re great.”

You Fuzhou felt his words were so pale, but Yu Yan lifted his eyes amid those powerless words, and that gaze suddenly lit up: “You think I’m great?”

You Fuzhou nodded, and Yu Yan smiled. That face instantly became dazzling: “Then maybe I don’t hate myself so much anymore.”

You Fuzhou stared at him in a daze, his heartbeat skipping a beat involuntarily.

For some reason… Yu Yan always drew his gaze.

You Fuzhou thought. Maybe their Compatibility Rate was high… Oh, Yu Yan was an adaptive Guide, with over 90% compatibility with all Sentinels.

His Compatibility Rate with Yu Yan was definitely over 90% too.

You Fuzhou had never met a Guide with over 90% compatibility with him—not even his blood sister Rong Yao, who was at 83%.

It must be that 90%+ at work.

But… Yu Yan was really captivating.

In that instant, You Fuzhou could even understand why Li Santian changed his ideal type for him.

Because when Yu Yan smiled like that, he too felt the impulse to do anything for that smile—as long as Yu Yan stayed this happy.

“What about your name?”

Yu Yan asked: “How did you get that name?”

You Fuzhou came back to himself: “…My teacher gave it to me.”

You Fuzhou’s name really wasn’t given by his parents: “The teacher who raised me from childhood said it means ‘water can carry a boat, but it can also capsize it.'”

Yu Yan was a little surprised: “And him now…”

“Ten years ago, executed on the spot for ties to the Freedom Alliance. Charges: reactionary, terrorist organization.” You Fuzhou said softly.

Yu Yan moved his hand, covering You Fuzhou’s fist with his palm, silently soothing and drawing all the emotions into himself.

Maybe because they’d hugged twice before, You Fuzhou didn’t blush as easily, but he still felt a bit awkward: “You don’t have to…”

“You Fuzhou.”

When Yu Yan called his name, his pronunciation was always so gentle, making You Fuzhou unconsciously follow him. Especially with that gaze so tender, like fine spring rain trapping a person: “You care about me, and I’ll care about you.”

You Fuzhou fell silent, not knowing what to say, his ears flushing red again.

Yu Yan continued: “I’m your Guide now. You can rely on me too.”

Enveloped by his mental power and endless gentleness, You Fuzhou didn’t retreat further and responded uncomfortably: “Yeah.”

It was the first time… someone had told him “you can rely on me.”

You Fuzhou thought.

What a wondrous feeling, an indescribable mood.

But… maybe it was because Yu Yan smiled brightly again after his response.

You Fuzhou felt it was okay.

Sentinel-Guide Trap

Sentinel-Guide Trap

向哨陷阱
Status: Completed Native Language: Chinese

You Fuzhou was the strongest Sentinel in the Freedom Alliance, and also the number one bounty target on the black lists of every empire.

When he learned that the Yashe Empire had captured their nation's strongest Guide and planned to publicly auction his Binding Right, You Fuzhou—the leading figure in the fight for freedom and equality—didn't hesitate for a second. He led his team in leveling the auction house and rescuing the empire's precious rose.

Yet it was precisely because of this that You Fuzhou ended up with this rose clinging to him.

~~~
Unsure if it was due to some twisted ideology drilled into him since childhood, but Yu Yan was convinced that since You Fuzhou had taken him away, he must be his Sentinel.
The man would lounge on his bed in semi-sheer clothes, his muscles toned and exquisite—the ideal form of an attack Guide in You Fuzhou's eyes.
But with his eyes downcast, he seemed incredibly meek. In a soft voice, he murmured, "You took me away and bought me. I'm your belonging now. Use me however you like."
You Fuzhou, who had never touched a strange Guide beyond the brush of a fingertip his entire life: "......"
His ears flushed red instantly!
If that had been the end of it, fine. But after being thoroughly ensnared by this alluring Guide—claimed and marked completely—You Fuzhou's very first thought was: Who says Guides are fragile and weak?!!!
~~~

Yu Yan had originally woven an enormous trap, one capable of obliterating everything he loathed. But into it crashed a young Sentinel.

He was like a sleek and ferocious young cheetah, charging into Yu Yan's world—right into the depths of his gaze.

Thus—

Yu Yan wanted to have him.
