Recently, due to a bug when splitting chapters, it was only possible to upload using whole numbers, which is why recent releases ended up with a higher chapter number than the actual chapter number. The chapters already uploaded and their respective novels can no longer be fixed unless we edit and re-upload them chapter by chapter(Chapters content are okay, just the number in the list is incorrect), but that would take a lot of time. Therefore, those uploaded in that way will remain as they are. The bug has been fixed(lasted 1 day), as seen with the recently uploaded novels, which can be split into parts and everything works as usual. From now on, all new content will be uploaded in correct order as before the bug happens. If time permits in the future, we may attempt to reorganize the previously affected chapters.

Chapter 22: Because He Used to…

Yu Yan’s kiss was intense.

It didn’t match the gentleness and warmth he usually showed.

But it suited his spiritual body perfectly.

It carried a sense of oppression, like the scent of blood—something that lingered deeply in the memory.

You Fuzhou hadn’t cranked his suppressor up high because he’d been preparing for battle right up until they landed. As a result, all five of his senses were exceptionally sharp.

This made every one of Yu Yan’s actions feel amplified dozens of times over to him, the sensations overwhelmingly vivid.

You Fuzhou wanted to adjust his suppressor higher. Otherwise…

But the moment he moved, Yu Yan held him even tighter, flipping them around to pin him against the wall. He gripped the back of You Fuzhou’s head, his other hand pressing against his neck and the suppressor, deepening the kiss even further.

You Fuzhou felt lightheaded and didn’t dare struggle too hard.

He was afraid he might lose control of his strength and hurt Yu Yan.

No one could say why a single kiss lasted so long.

You Fuzhou felt like his mouth was no longer just filled with Yu Yan’s presence—it was emanating it, as if he’d been marked by him. When a faint, unconscious sound slipped from his throat, mingling with the wet sounds that made his face burn with embarrassment, Yu Yan finally released him.

You Fuzhou half-lidded his eyes, gazing at the guide before him, who looked far too fierce. Yu Yan’s thumb pressed against the corner of his lips, his voice husky and soft, carrying a slightly distorted blur: “You Fuzhou.”

He called his name, then asked, “You know what this means, right?”

You Fuzhou stayed quiet for a few seconds, steadying his breathing before murmuring with the tips of his ears flushed red, “Kissing without thinking it through… that’s what a scumbag does.”

Yu Yan chuckled softly at that. “You’re right. Our Team Leader You isn’t a scumbag.”

So You Fuzhou had thought it through.

Which meant…

Yu Yan couldn’t help but confirm it one more time. “We’re not just in a simple bodyguard relationship anymore, are we?”

You Fuzhou would get embarrassed about things like this, but shy or not, he wouldn’t dodge the question. He nodded. “Yeah.”

With that, Yu Yan broke into a full smile and leaned in to kiss him again.

He could tell that the young sentinel felt shy about it, but he clearly liked it too.

So Yu Yan looked at the obedient You Fuzhou, who let him kiss without resistance, and couldn’t hold back. He stole two more kisses.

You Fuzhou finally spoke up. “…There’s surveillance.”

They were in the fighter jet parking area, and there were cameras here.

Yu Yan glanced at the tiny camera nearby and chuckled lightly. “Yeah, I’ll grab a copy later.”

You Fuzhou blinked at him. “?”

He stared at Yu Yan in disbelief. “What are you even saying?”

Yu Yan replied matter-of-factly, “This captures the moment we officially got together. Of course I need a copy. If you’re too shy to play it at the wedding, we’ll just keep it for ourselves. We can look back on it later when you’re not so thin-skinned. Sound good?”

Truth be told…

You Fuzhou’s heart actually skipped a beat at the idea.

That was probably why Yu Yan said You Fuzhou was so easy to sway with him.

Yu Yan continued, “Let’s head back to your room. I’ll give you some spiritual guidance. Your mental state isn’t great.”

It was because of the battle.

Sentinels were like that—their bodies were incredibly tough, but their spiritual worlds were fragile.

You Fuzhou had seen high-level sentinels collapse before, sobbing like little kids.

Back in his edgy teenage phase, when he still cared a lot about his image, You Fuzhou had thought it was embarrassing.

That was part of why he didn’t like accepting guidance from guides. He knew his spiritual body influenced him—if it felt too good, he might end up nuzzling against them without thinking.

Rong Yao had laughed at him for quietly leaning on her shoulder during sessions in the past.

She’d said, “Bro, you know? That was the time I felt like we were most like real siblings.”

Because You Fuzhou always kept his distance from people, even his little sister.

It wasn’t that he disliked physical contact by nature. It was just that after becoming a sentinel, touches felt magnified, often making him uncomfortable.

There wasn’t really any need to connect spiritual guidance with going back to a room, but since Yu Yan suggested it, You Fuzhou nodded.

And they went to You Fuzhou’s room.

His room was simple, without much clutter—just a few manga books on the shelf.

It was clear that a sentinel’s life could be a bit monotonous. No wonder there were so many things they didn’t get.

Even his manga were all hot-blooded battle stories.

Yu Yan pulled You Fuzhou down onto the sofa. He’d thought it would be something simple like a hug at most, but after Yu Yan clasped his hand, he kissed him again.

Their mental energies intertwined as well. Before You Fuzhou could protest, he was already lost to the guidance.

For the guidance, Yu Yan’s kisses were gentle this time, different from the earlier dominance—but somehow still the same.

You Fuzhou felt utterly pinned down by him, with no way to resist.

Yu Yan’s cool body temperature rose amid the tangle of lips and tongues, turning hot yet comforting—like a monster that had lost its teeth, devouring him without any pain.

It simply enveloped him, simmering slowly.

To You Fuzhou, it just felt…

So good.

Really good.

So incredibly comfortable that he couldn’t think straight. His whole body felt hazy.

Like soaking in a hot spring too long and getting dizzy, but not nauseous—just addicted, sinking deeper in.

That made You Fuzhou lose his composure. After an unconscious wiggle, he nuzzled against Yu Yan.

Yu Yan stopped instantly.

He pulled back from the kiss, but the guidance continued. A thin silver thread stretched between their lips before snapping, dripping onto You Fuzhou’s chin, neck, and collarbone. It melted away upon touching his heated skin, like fleeting silver light—beautiful.

The You Fuzhou pinned beneath him on the sofa had his eyes half-closed, head turned aside. As Yu Yan withdrew, he unconsciously nudged his hand with his head.

…Lions were cat family after all. Cats really did share those traits.

Yu Yan was utterly charmed by the head-nudge.

Especially since You Fuzhou was such a big guy, yet the guidance had coaxed out these vulnerable moments… It was so endearing for an S-Class sentinel.

Yu Yan took a deep breath, leaned down to stroke You Fuzhou’s head, and kissed his eyes.

The gentle motions, combined with the mental guidance, made You Fuzhou crave even more.

It was his trusted guide.

The subconscious urge prompted instinctive actions.

He shifted, flipping subtly like a cat, exposing his front even more—as if hinting for belly rubs, signaling to Yu Yan what he wanted.

Yu Yan was so smitten he wanted to scoop him up and shower him with kisses.

Cats could be this adorable…

When Yu Yan kissed him again, the full effect of the spiritual guidance returned—that indescribable comfort made You Fuzhou lose control a little even in that single kiss.

When a tail wrapped around his waist, Yu Yan paused.

He lifted the hand cradling You Fuzhou’s head higher, and sure enough, he touched You Fuzhou’s ears.

Not human ears.

Beast ears.

Lion ears.

A young sentinel had materialized his spiritual body from the pleasure.

Yu Yan: “…”

He gently pinched the tip of You Fuzhou’s ear, sighing softly to himself.

Getting to spiritual materialization this easily meant You Fuzhou really hadn’t received much proper guidance from guides.

Even back then, with Rong Yao around, given You Fuzhou’s personality, he’d probably only asked her for help right after seeing her—never seeking out other guides afterward.

Yu Yan didn’t know what to say.

He wanted to scold the reckless young man for not knowing his limits, but his heart ached for him too.

An S-Class sentinel who’d been through so many battles… No wonder he hadn’t fully recovered.

When Yu Yan pinched the beast ear, You Fuzhou clearly stiffened.

But as Yu Yan stroked down to the base and rubbed it, You Fuzhou shuddered. A sound escaped him without him even noticing, stoking Yu Yan’s own fire.

This was his sentinel.

The man he liked.

How could he possibly stay unaffected?

Yu Yan let go, worried that going too far too fast might make You Fuzhou shut down and lock himself away afterward.

But the moment his hand left, the sentinel—starved for proper guidance for so long—lost all reason. Not only did his head chase after Yu Yan’s hand, but he grabbed Yu Yan’s wrist with one hand.

Gripping hard.

Then he leaned in, pressing his beast ear into Yu Yan’s palm and between his fingers, rubbing against it deliberately.

Yu Yan: “…”

He gazed at You Fuzhou’s ridiculously handsome face making such a move…

Yu Yan pinched the ear between his fingers, exhaling heavily. “Baby.”

His tone carried a hint of warning as he applied a little pressure, intensifying the already electric sensation. You Fuzhou’s reaction was immediate and obvious, complete with leaking sounds.

Yu Yan leaned down to kiss him, his voice low and muffled. “You’re the one who started this. Don’t get mad at me when you snap out of it later.”

As Yu Yan’s kisses trailed downward, the brief spiritual materialization sharpened his teeth. They easily snapped through You Fuzhou’s suppressor.

You Fuzhou felt a rush of heat, but it was so very comfortable.

Two complex sensations intertwined within him, mingled with the secondary one that Yu Yan brought—a feeling that struck him as strangely appealing, even if it was utterly unfamiliar…

You Fuzhou realized that Yu Yan had stopped kissing his face and lips. He’d stopped caressing his ears, too.

Subconsciously, he wanted to pull Yu Yan back, to make him keep touching his ears. He loved it that much.

But Yu Yan deftly unbuckled his gun belt and used it to bind You Fuzhou’s hands. Then he pressed down on his chest, his guiding mental energy taking on a firmer, more commanding edge. “Be good. Don’t move.”

Gazing into those agate eyes, he asked, “Let me help you this once… It’ll make the guiding even more effective.”

You Fuzhou’s reactions were just too obvious.

Yu Yan could tell from his pure, innocent expression that he’d probably never gone through anything like this before.

—He guessed right.

You Fuzhou truly hadn’t.

Because he’d never even considered such things in the past.

So in that instant when Yu Yan called out to him, his mind went completely blank—like he’d scaled the heights of paradise, only to be hauled back by Yu Yan’s immense mental power. The ensuing chaos resembled a kitchen catastrophe, every spice jar overturned in a hopeless tangle of flavors that defied any attempt to sort it out.

His firm muscles trembled against Yu Yan’s body, an instinctive reaction he couldn’t control.

You Fuzhou felt as if he’d tumbled straight into a shark’s belly.

He was about to be devoured, and not figuratively.

Yu Yan wasn’t particularly practiced at this.

After all, it was his first time helping someone in this way.

But it didn’t matter. As a Guide, he was a master at sensing people’s reactions and mental fluctuations. He knew precisely how to provide the best support for his Sentinel.

Status: Completed Native Language: Chinese

You Fuzhou was the strongest Sentinel in the Freedom Alliance, and also the number one bounty target on the black lists of every empire.

When he learned that the Yashe Empire had captured their nation's strongest Guide and planned to publicly auction his Binding Right, You Fuzhou—the leading figure in the fight for freedom and equality—didn't hesitate for a second. He led his team in leveling the auction house and rescuing the empire's precious rose.

Yet it was precisely because of this that You Fuzhou ended up with this rose clinging to him.

~~~
Unsure if it was due to some twisted ideology drilled into him since childhood, but Yu Yan was convinced that since You Fuzhou had taken him away, he must be his Sentinel.
The man would lounge on his bed in semi-sheer clothes, his muscles toned and exquisite—the ideal form of an attack Guide in You Fuzhou's eyes.
But with his eyes downcast, he seemed incredibly meek. In a soft voice, he murmured, "You took me away and bought me. I'm your belonging now. Use me however you like."
You Fuzhou, who had never touched a strange Guide beyond the brush of a fingertip his entire life: "......"
His ears flushed red instantly!
If that had been the end of it, fine. But after being thoroughly ensnared by this alluring Guide—claimed and marked completely—You Fuzhou's very first thought was: Who says Guides are fragile and weak?!!!
~~~

Yu Yan had originally woven an enormous trap, one capable of obliterating everything he loathed. But into it crashed a young Sentinel.

He was like a sleek and ferocious young cheetah, charging into Yu Yan's world—right into the depths of his gaze.

Thus—

Yu Yan wanted to have him.
