Recently, due to a bug when splitting chapters, it was only possible to upload using whole numbers, which is why recent releases ended up with a higher chapter number than the actual chapter number. The chapters already uploaded and their respective novels can no longer be fixed unless we edit and re-upload them chapter by chapter(Chapters content are okay, just the number in the list is incorrect), but that would take a lot of time. Therefore, those uploaded in that way will remain as they are. The bug has been fixed(lasted 1 day), as seen with the recently uploaded novels, which can be split into parts and everything works as usual. From now on, all new content will be uploaded in correct order as before the bug happens. If time permits in the future, we may attempt to reorganize the previously affected chapters.

The Cub Comes from Planet Meow 47

Chapter 47: Meow

“…Okay.”

With his mouth covered by a small hand, he could only make muffled sounds.

Although Wang Qiuqiu was a bit confused, he subconsciously chose to obey.

First, because of his professional habit as a former police dog. Second, because of Mimi’s personality; going along with him could avoid unnecessary conflicts.

Jing Zhi smiled helplessly at Wang’s father and mother behind Wang Qiuqiu. Just as he was about to invite them in, Wang’s father said, “We have some work to deal with later, so we won’t go in. Qiuqiu can call us directly when he wants to go back. Sorry for the trouble.”

Jing Zhi shook his head and said, “No trouble. It’s easier to take care of two children when they have company.”

While the adults were exchanging pleasantries, Wang Qiuqiu handed the kitten balloon to Jing Mimi, walked into the entryway, and sat on the small stool to change his shoes.

Jing Mimi freshly led the “flying” kitten balloon around the entryway, suddenly remembering the wonderful feeling of weightlessness after the kitten Mimi died.

At that time, the kitten spirit could fly freely in the sky, as if growing a pair of small wings. However, he was too panicked about leaving his papas to enjoy the feeling of flying.

Now he suddenly wanted to experience it, but couldn’t.

But he heard there was something called an airplane that could fly into the sky.

When he had the chance in the future, he would take an airplane with Papa, fly into the clouds together, and look for cat-shaped clouds.

Just as he was thinking, Wang Qiuqiu had changed his shoes, stood up, and walked in front of him.

Jing Zhi finished exchanging pleasantries with Wang Qiuqiu’s parents and closed the door.

Seeing Mimi liked the kitten balloon very much, Jing Zhi tied the other end of the balloon string to his hat, following behind him as he ran. He could see it as soon as he looked up.

Because they had a cat before, things at home were tidied up well and wouldn’t be easily knocked over by the balloon. Just tell the little guy to be careful.

Jing Mimi took Wang Qiuqiu’s small hand and led him to the cat room to play with toys for a while.

Wang Qiuqiu recognized this as the kitten Mimi’s former room. There was a big cat nest and a cat climbing frame inside. He also sharply spotted some light yellow cat hair on them that didn’t belong to the little human Mimi.

When he was the puppy Qiuqiu, he also had his own small house, bigger than Mimi’s room. But he didn’t like staying in the room. He liked running wild in the estate until the sunset dyed everything colorful, then returning home covered in grass clippings to be groomed by his mom and dad.

If the kitten Mimi lived with him at that time, it would have been great. They could run, jump, and roll around in the estate together. He would share half of his nest with Mimi and sleep tail to tail with him.

A life with a cat… just thinking about it was wonderful.

Jing Mimi didn’t know what Wang Qiuqiu was thinking. He waved his small hand at him, inviting him to lie in his cat nest.

Wang Qiuqiu obeyed obediently.

His body was slightly larger than Mimi’s and couldn’t fit perfectly into the cat nest, but he could feel the softness and comfort of the cat nest and found a few new cat hairs in the crevices.

Suddenly remembering something, Wang Qiuqiu sat up from the cat nest and asked, “Mimi, where is the note from the cat abuser you mentioned yesterday?”

Jing Mimi also remembered this serious matter. His expression became serious instantly, and he said, “Papa put it away. I’ll go ask Papa.”

Jing Zhi was in the living room where he could see the cat room, dealing with some work on his phone while keeping an eye on the two little cubs.

Out of the corner of his eye, two small figures suddenly walked towards him hand in hand.

Jing Zhi put away his phone. Seeing their stern faces, he smiled and asked, “What’s wrong?”

“Papa, where is that bad guy’s note?” Jing Mimi asked.

Jing Zhi was stunned for a moment, realizing he was talking about the note with “Welcome back!” written on it.

Jiang Suifeng told him about Mimi calling Qiuqiu and agreeing to catch the cat abuser together.

Although subconsciously he felt such small cubs couldn’t help much, he wouldn’t dampen their confidence, nor did he want to be a killjoy parent.

Moreover, Mimi was originally a kitten, and his hatred for cat abusers was even greater than humans.

If they hadn’t picked up Mimi back then, but a cat abuser had found him, who knows how much suffering the kitten would have endured.

Anyway, it didn’t matter if he showed them the note. Jing Zhi got up and went to the study to take out the note.

Not long after, the two little cubs put their heads together, each holding a corner of the note, studying it with extra focus.

Jing Mimi even found a magnifying glass from home and studied the note intently, looking like a kitten detective.

Wang Qiuqiu tried to sniff the note close to his nose, but unfortunately, he was no longer Police Dog Qiuqiu, and his nose couldn’t distinguish the scent on it.

If it were before, within the time limit of scent residue, the German Shepherd Qiuqiu could identify the person who wrote the note just by smelling it and encountering them again.

If only he could ask his former colleagues for help…

But it wasn’t realistic. Former colleagues probably retired, and some had gone to Planet Woof. Besides, Mimi was afraid of dogs, and they couldn’t search door to door; after all, this wasn’t a criminal case.

Wang Qiuqiu couldn’t help feeling a bit disappointed.

Jing Mimi also mimicked him, sniffing the note close to his nose. Not only did he smell nothing, but he also sneezed.

The balloon tied to his hat trembled with his sneeze, looking a bit cute.

Jing Zhi took in their reactions and casually shared it with Jiang Suifeng.

Jiang Suifeng replied quickly: [Meow-Woof Detective Squad, met their Waterloo in the first case.]

Looking at this cute little title, the smile in Jing Zhi’s eyes deepened unconsciously.

Mimi was a cat, Qiuqiu’s surname was Wang (Woof), so it was indeed the Meow-Woof Detective Squad.

Just then, the doorbell rang suddenly. The takeout app on the phone showed arrived. Jing Zhi habitually looked at the surveillance at the door, saw it was the delivery guy carrying fruit delivery, and stood up immediately.

Jing Mimi and Wang Qiuqiu also heard the noise. Before Wang Qiuqiu could react, his small hand was held, closely following Jing Zhi’s steps.

The rampant cat abuser hadn’t been caught yet and knew their address. Papa couldn’t go to the dangerous doorway alone. The kitten wanted to be with Papa, protecting Papa closely!

Jing Zhi glanced at the three small lumps following closely—Mimi, Qiuqiu, and the floating kitten balloon—out of the corner of his eye and ignored them. Anyway, it was just opening the door to take the fruit from the delivery guy.

Click, the door opened.

Jing Mimi and Wang Qiuqiu instantly looked out the door vigilantly.

Outside the door, the man in the delivery uniform was carrying several very large bags, obviously Jing Zhi bought too much fruit, too heavy.

Jing Zhi opened the door fully to facilitate bringing the fruit in.

Mainly because he bought a very large Musang King durian, the kind with the shell, quite heavy.

Afraid of bumping into the two little cubs, Jing Zhi took the bags while asking them to step back a bit.

Wang Qiuqiu suddenly tugged gently at the corner of his clothes.

“Uncle, I’ll ask my dad to check the surveillance and find the person who wrote this note.”

Jing Zhi was confused by his sudden sentence.

He knew Qiuqiu’s family had some background, and checking surveillance shouldn’t be difficult. But Zhu Shan said he had checked the surveillance, and the person probably went through the stairwell without surveillance, leaving no trace.

He didn’t think too much about it, hummed twice, and said, “Go in first.”

Couldn’t chat at the door.

Bang, the door closed.

Jing Zhi carried the fruit quickly to the table in the living room. Just as he was about to ask the little guys what they wanted to eat first, Wang Qiuqiu suddenly put on a stern face and spoke again: “Uncle, do you know that delivery guy just now?”

Jing Zhi was completely stunned now. He subconsciously glanced at the door, then looked back at the little cub in front of him, answering confusedly: “Don’t know him. What’s wrong?”

Contemporary young people were very lazy. With convenient delivery, when Jiang Suifeng wasn’t home, he liked ordering runners online, not wanting to go out shopping alone.

He had seen too many delivery guys and had almost no impression. Moreover, sometimes when busy, he would directly note to leave the delivery at the door and take a photo, no need to hand it to him personally.

Wang Qiuqiu pursed his lips and answered deliberately: “His eyes were so strange just now.”

Eyes?

Jing Zhi really didn’t notice.

His attention was on the fruit and the two little cubs.

Wang Qiuqiu used to be a police dog after all, and his insight into humans was far superior to ordinary people.

Just now when the door opened, that delivery guy saw the note with “Welcome back!” written in red in his hand, and his micro-expression was very wrong.

That was why he said that sentence deliberately; he wanted to verify.

He verified successfully.

When he said “Uncle, I’ll ask my dad to check the surveillance and find the person who wrote this note,” the delivery guy’s reaction was more obvious—a little nervous, yet a little contemptuous and mocking, obviously confident that the surveillance couldn’t find him, and didn’t take such a small child seriously.

Ordinary people might not detect anything, but he saw it all. He believed in his judgment and his ability.

He was a formidable police dog, with a proven track record.

Jing Zhi didn’t take the little cub’s words lightly. He also became serious and asked him some details.

In his opinion—children have many special abilities that adults don’t have.

He immediately reopened his phone. The delivery guy had left in the surveillance, but there was his information on the delivery app.

Name was “Guo Shangjin.”

He remembered Zhu Shan said that person was about 1.7 meters tall. The delivery guy just now was indeed about 1.7 meters compared to his height.

Regardless of whether it was a coincidence, it couldn’t be ignored. What if it was him? Better investigate wrongly than let him go.

Jing Zhi immediately told Jiang Suifeng and Zhu Shan about the delivery guy separately.

Jiang Suifeng watched the surveillance just now again, but the surveillance video wasn’t that clear after all, showing nothing. He planned to investigate this delivery guy.

Zhu Shan thanked him and said he would pay extra attention to this delivery guy.

After all this tossing, the fruit hadn’t been processed yet, and not a bite had been eaten.

Meeting the worried eyes of the two little cubs, Jing Zhi patted their heads one by one and said, “Already investigating. If that delivery guy is really the cat abuser, I believe there will be results soon.”

Wang Qiuqiu nodded.

When he was a police dog, he also told his human colleagues the clues he found, and the colleagues could quickly follow the clues to find out the truth.

Jing Mimi didn’t notice anything, not even remembering what the delivery guy looked like just now. Looking at Wang Qiuqiu with admiration, stars twinkling in his eyes: “Brother Qiuqiu, you are so amazing.”

Fireworks exploded in Wang Qiuqiu’s heart, but he looked a bit embarrassed on his face, touching his nose with his hand, the corners of his mouth turning up uncontrollably.

Although he failed to get Mimi’s admiration in speaking English, he achieved his goal now.

Jing Zhi’s gaze returned to the fruit on the table, asking: “What fruit do you want to eat first?”

Out of selfishness, Jing Zhi promoted: “This Musang King durian is the most delicious.”

Jing Zhi liked eating durian very much and bought it often before.

However… every time he ate durian before, he would smoke out the kitten Mimi. Sometimes the kitten would mimic burying litter with his small paws, thinking he was eating some smelly poop, his cat eyes full of worry about Papa’s mental state.

Now that the kitten turned into a little human—he wanted to let Mimi know the deliciousness of durian.

“Musang King?” Jing Mimi was attracted by the name. “Is it the king on Cat Mountain?”

Jing Zhi didn’t know how to answer, or rather, he hadn’t looked into why Musang King was called Musang King, so he simply took out the durian directly. “This is it, very delicious.”

Jing Mimi twitched his nose, finally knowing the source of the strange smell. He covered his nose and backed away instantly, saying while retreating: “Papa, let’s not eat poop. Only dogs eat poop.”

Wang Qiuqiu: “…”

After Jing Mimi died, it went to Planet Meow.

The God of Planet Meow said to it: Mimi, welcome to the Cat Paradise. All the cats here will be your new family.

Mimi let out a "meow" and burst into tears: I want Papa.

The soft-hearted Cat God eventually sent this crybaby kitten back to its fathers' side.

In exchange, Mimi had to assist the Cat God in fulfilling the wishes of the kittens on Planet Meow.

For example, placing a kitten's favorite foxtail grass at their owner's doorstep; rubbing a little hand cream on the hand of a human scratched by a kitten; or giving a gentle kiss to the owner's newborn baby...

**

On the day the cat they had raised together for many years passed away, after yet another argument, Jing Zhi broke down and asked to break up.

Not long after, Jing Zhi found a sleeping little cub at his doorstep.

The little cub didn't cry or fuss; he just loved to burrow into his arms.

Soon, he learned his very first sound: "Meow."

**

After a cooling-off period following the breakup, Jiang Suifeng finally returned from his business trip. The first thing he did was buy a bouquet of Jing Zhi's favorite Chinese roses to apologize and seek reconciliation.

Unexpectedly, from a distance, he saw his boyfriend holding a little cub in his arms. The cub was calling out "Papa" with every breath, and his appearance actually bore a resemblance to his boyfriend.

Jiang Suifeng felt like he had been struck by a bolt from the blue. His brain crashed, unable to think. The flowers in his hand fell to the ground as he strode swiftly up to Jing Zhi, his eyes red, demanding an explanation.

The little cub blinked his eyes, suddenly giggled at him, and called out "Papa" again.

Jing Zhi looked at him as well. "Don't you think he looks a bit like you, too?"
