The Entire Demon World is Fighting for My Favor: A Shura Field 70

Chapter 70

Lin Ran finally lost his patience and dragged Shao Mian into a restroom inside the subway station.

“What are you doing? Yuanbao?”

Looking up at Shao Mian, Lin Ran’s tone was slightly unpleasant.

Shao Mian, being held back, looked down at the human in front of him, the corners of his mouth rising uncontrollably.

He looks good even when he’s angry.

“Be serious.”

Lin Ran frowned slightly and looked up at Shao Mian, feeling truly helpless for a moment.

If Yuanbao were still in his lion form, Lin Ran felt he would have mercilessly ruffled Yuanbao’s mane.

Shao Mian instinctively felt a vague unease in his ears, certain that if this were in “Demon World,” he would probably be having his ears pulled again.

“Do you have to take the subway? Wouldn’t it be better if I drove you back?”

The big lion hesitated for a long time before asking pitifully.

“I don’t want to trouble Secretary Ser. Isn’t Secretary Ser busy with work? Is everyone as free as you?”

Lin Ran hugged the sleep pod in his arms and turned his face away to avoid Shao Mian’s gaze as he explained.

“Well, I’m free anyway. I’ll drive myself.”

This time, Shao Mian’s tone was calm, as if he wanted to see what other excuses Lin Ran could come up with.

“…”

Lin Ran finally confirmed that Yuanbao’s behavior was really like that of a large feline. Once he had something he wanted to do, he would definitely push forward relentlessly.

“And if we take a car, it’s definitely less likely to crowd this little guy than the subway, right?”

“His demonic aura is very special. If it attracts some strange beings, he might be snatched away.”

Although Shao Mian always felt that if those who snatched cubs weren’t blind, they should have discovered that Lin Ran, holding Little Feather, was even more peculiar.

Because in this chaotic human world filled with mixed auras, only when near Lin Ran could one smell the same fresh scent as when “Demon World” was first created.

“Besides, haven’t you already given me rides several times in ‘Demon World’?”

Why is it not okay now that he’s in human form?

Shao Mian thought to the end, raising an eyebrow meaningfully.

“…!”

Lin Ran suddenly remembered that in “Demon World,” he had indeed been carried by Yuanbao several times on his way home.

Two of those times, he was in his fluffy white ball form!

Heavens, it was perfectly normal in his fluffy form, but why did it feel so embarrassing in human form?

“Don’t tell anyone about me turning into a fluffy ball.”

Lin Ran, whose face quickly flushed, rarely grabbed Shao Mian to “threaten” him.

“Mm.”

Shao Mian felt the force on his arm, the corners of his mouth unable to stop rising.

This kind of secret, of course, couldn’t be casually told to others!

“But is it heavy? When sitting on your neck?”

Although Lin Ran couldn’t help but ask curiously.

When Shao Mian was a lion, he couldn’t speak. Now that he was in human form, many questions could be asked, and this guy couldn’t pretend to be ignorant and lazily ignore them anymore.

Thinking about it this way, Lin Ran realized that Yuanbao was really lazy, especially when they first met, often simply pretending not to want to answer.

And it was said that the spine of felines was one of the more easily injured parts. Should he stop letting Yuanbao carry him in “Demon World” in the future?

“Not heavy, very light. Like a… um, dandelion.”

Shao Mian glanced at Lin Ran and explained in a low voice.

Just like a dandelion landing on him, without any weight at all.

When the wind blew while running, it would stick to him lightly, as if afraid of being blown away.

“…”

Although dandelion probably referred to weight, Lin Ran inexplicably felt that this guy was saying that his fluffy ball form resembled a fluffy white dandelion.

Impossible, Yuanbao’s language skills clearly couldn’t be that good.

Shao Mian couldn’t help but sneeze, obviously unaware that he was being randomly slandered by the young human beside him who was blushing.

Little Feather, who had woken up quietly in the sleep pod at some point, was lying on the transparent wall, watching A-Ran and the big lion talking.

The little cub was somewhat attracted to good looks, and watching the scene of A-Ran and the big demon together, he inexplicably wagged his tail.

Little Feather also wanted to stand together with A-Ran when he grew up!

However, the unexpected things for Lin Ran clearly hadn’t ended. As soon as he got off the car at school, he received a notification on his phone.

Dormitory renovation project? Temporarily moving to off-campus transitional dormitories!?

Is this news a normal person would see? Isn’t it usually after graduating from university/high school/junior high that one is suddenly shocked to learn that the school cafeteria/dormitories have been renovated?

“Then I’ll go first? Thank you for being the driver, Yuanbao.”

Lin Ran finally looked back at Yuanbao.

“Mm.”

Shao Mian responded softly, feeling like he had sent the person off in the blink of an eye.

However, Shao Mian waited for a long time, but found that Lin Ran didn’t get out of the car immediately, which made the big lion inexplicably flustered.

“…Yuanbao, can your tail just pop out like that?”

Lin Ran looked amusingly at the lion’s tail rubbing against his wrist, convinced that Yuanbao was really not pretending anymore.

The golden lion’s tail was thick and powerful, yet at this moment it was as lively as a kitten’s tail, entwining around him and not letting go, wagging back and forth.

As if teasing A-Ran to chase its fur.

So Lin Ran, touching the tip of the tail, looked along the tail towards Shao Mian’s back, inexplicably curious about how the tail popped out when Yuanbao was wearing pants.

It couldn’t be that while he was cold and domineering from the front, there was a hole in the back of his pants?

No, no, how could he imagine such a scene!

Lin Ran instantly dispelled the image from his mind.

And Shao Mian already wished he could chop off his own tail.

When did this thing quietly pop out!?

Then with a “swoosh,” Lin Ran found that the lion’s tail beside him disappeared without a trace, as if it had never appeared.

“Lin-zai, Lin-zai, great news–“

The voices of his roommates came from not far away. Zhu Yao and the others had made an appointment with Lin Ran to go eat at school.

They didn’t expect Lin-zai to come back so early today, so they probably wouldn’t have to queue.

“Lin-zai, you didn’t take the subway back today and took a taxi? Eh, are you already busy going to your next order?”

Zhu Yao was the first among the four roommates to see Lin Ran and waved frantically.

Lin Ran was still worried about how to explain, but when he turned around, he saw a certain big lion fleeing in a panic.

He couldn’t help but laugh.

Luo Xiao’s face was a bit suspicious. If he wasn’t mistaken, that car was more expensive than the one his father drove. Was he driving for a ride-hailing service?

Are rich people’s interests so simple now!?

Zhu Yao and the others didn’t recognize these things at all and simply hugged Lin Ran to share their joy:

“Lin-zai, the stingy school finally became generous for once and got us a temporary dormitory at the Wen Zhi Hotel right outside the school gate! Who would believe it!? S University is awesome!”

“We’re really changing to temporary dormitories? Are the old dormitories being renovated too?”

This news didn’t feel real to Lin Ran until Zhu Yao and the others rushed over to tell him.

“Yeah, we also got assigned to the best floor. Awesome, no more queuing for showers. Four single rooms connected together, we can still go downstairs to the snack street to eat together, hehe.”

“The class president sent a notice, we’re moving our luggage soon. It’s just right, we don’t have classes before the evening party. By the way, Lin-zai, have you really practiced your magic show?”

The four of them chatted animatedly while eating, and the topic naturally revolved around moving dormitories and the upcoming evening party.

However, regarding the magic show, Lin Ran was indeed quite confident.

After practicing privately with Little Feather a few times, Lin Ran felt that the effect was unexpectedly good.

The class president, Guan Qianqian, also teamed up with several class committee members to forcibly choose clothes for Lin Ran and controlled the budget for costumes, so the show actually looked quite decent.

Now, at this critical moment, having a larger single room dormitory was, of course, even better for Lin Ran.

At least Little Feather didn’t need to hide anymore, he could fly around on the table openly without anyone seeing him.

However, when Lin Ran helped the other boys move all the luggage for the class and finally collapsed on the bed exhausted, he suddenly received a delivery call.

“Mr. Lin Ran, you have a delivery.”

The hotel butler of the temporary dormitory delivered the items directly.

Lin Ran inexplicably guessed what it would be, and in fact, when Lin Ran saw the list in his hand with Secretary Ser as the sender, he sighed helplessly and amusedly.

Sure enough, they sent the things Little Feather bought.

“Here, these are all the good things you bought. Aren’t you worried about owing so much on your loan at such a young age?”

Lin Ran bent down and handed it to Little Feather who was peeking from the side.

It was a good thing they suddenly changed to a bigger dormitory, otherwise there wouldn’t be enough space for this pile of clothes.

“Ee!”

Little Feather didn’t feel burdened by the debt at all, but happily held the list and spun in the air, flying to the box and motioning for A-Ran to wear this tomorrow.

Lin Ran squatted down, resting his chin on his hand, and poked the little guy’s cheek.

“You’ve become a fashion stylist now. Why don’t you buy something for yourself? It’s your first time earning money from work, after all.”

“Ee…”

Little Feather thought about it for three seconds before shaking his head.

It’s more fun to work hard and buy gifts for A-Ran!

He was so well-behaved that Lin Ran couldn’t help but want to rub the little guy. He felt that Little Feather’s personality was occasionally like a little angel, with no trace of his possessive and hostile side.

[Ding——Cub Exclusive Task: Virtue Development (1) Completed!]

[Cub Affection Level increased to 75! Activated Halo: Primary Curse Halo X 48H!]

[Those who possess this halo will have a 25% increase in attractiveness to everything around them. This is Eno Gard’s exclusive limited skill.]

Just then, a series of new notifications from “Demon World” popped up. Little Feather’s exclusive halo appeared for the first time.

Looking at the halo’s description, Lin Ran felt inexplicably strange. A 25% increase in attractiveness to everything around him sounded like a positive effect, so why was the halo called “Curse”?

Moreover, looking at the oblivious Little Feather in front of him, Lin Ran always felt that this skill of Little Feather’s was peculiar in every sense.

If this skill could be exerted to 100%, so that everyone around could be attracted to Little Feather, wouldn’t they no longer care about the imperfections on his face?

Isn’t that a good thing?

Lin Ran lowered his eyes and gently rubbed Little Feather’s small wings, then peeled the skin off a Golden Spirit Fruit he brought back from “Demon World” and handed it to Little Feather.

Although the Golden Spirit Fruit couldn’t directly heal the scars on Little Feather’s face, Lin Ran found that feeding the little guy one every day would at least make the scars fade a little, although he didn’t know if it was a psychological effect.

“Aw…”

Little Feather obediently took a bite of the fruit A-Ran peeled for him, looking at A-Ran after every bite.

“Just eat your fruit properly, why do you keep looking at me?”

Lin Ran couldn’t help but laugh when he noticed the little guy’s small action.

“Ee.”

A-Ran seems to look even better, the kind that makes it hard to look away.

In a daze, Little Feather was affected by his own talent halo, especially since he already liked A-Ran very much.

As for why this halo was called a curse, it was simply because it was originally a halo created by Little Feather to catch prey. Once the prey was tricked into approaching, Little Feather would immediately devour it and burp.

But after the halo appeared on A-Ran, it seemed to have become something else entirely.

Lin Ran didn’t notice that the halo had already subtly taken effect. Instead, he looked down at his phone with a slight worry.

Snowball had said he would video call him tonight, but suddenly said he couldn’t make it.

Did something happen?

Not long ago, at the Central Mall, Lu Ya, who had been impatiently waiting for her husband, finally found her husband, An Hongyu, running naked amidst screams.

“Why aren’t you wearing any clothes!? An Hongyu!”

Lu Ya felt extremely embarrassed and wished she could just take her things and bypass the man clinging to her, ignoring the onlookers.

“Monster! I saw a monster again! The same kind as An Xun…”

In An Hongyu’s chaotic memory, the last image was Little Feather’s half-burnt face when he turned around. The terrifying feeling was almost etched into his bones.

Half of his face, even his eyes were burnt, yet he was still alive and could even move!?

“What nonsense are you talking about?”

Lu Ya’s face instantly turned ugly as she covered the man’s mouth. Saying such things in public could have endless repercussions!

Was An Hongyu really crazy, wanting everyone to know that An Xun was a monster!?

An Hongyu, who was somewhat sobered by Lu Ya’s glare, finally stopped his frenzy. He glanced at the crowd looking at him in surprise, and suddenly shouted to check the surveillance: “Check the surveillance… I want to check the surveillance!”

That monster must have been caught on camera!

However, a few minutes later, the manager in the control room apologized with a look of apology: “I’m so sorry, but for some reason, the surveillance footage from just now is completely offline.”

“But we’ve carefully checked all the surveillance footage before and after, and we haven’t found the small, palm-sized monster you mentioned…”

The manager said, his expression becoming strange. If An Hongyu didn’t look so presentable, he would have suspected him of being mentally ill.

How could such a thing exist in the world?

“You must be accomplices of the monster! This is impossible, how could it be so coincidental that it’s just gone!”

An Hongyu looked at the manager, his face filled with fear and disgust.

“Sorry, he seems to have a fever. I’ll take him to the hospital first.”

Lu Ya, who always cared about her image, couldn’t stay any longer, especially after noticing that An Hongyu clearly had a high fever. She just wanted to take him away from here.

“Okay, do you need us to arrange someone to help you?”

The manager’s expression, which had been accused of being a “monster accomplice,” finally relaxed a little. Even so, his expression was still strange.

This guy’s surname is An. Could he really be the father of that celebrity An Xun?

For a time, rumors spread throughout the mall.

And Secretary Ser, standing on the glass walkway in the atrium, watched all this with an expressionless face, holding An Hongyu’s phone in his hand.

The next second, this last trace was crushed and destroyed.

Beside him were Oni, Yorke, and other demons.

Theoretically, this level of affairs shouldn’t require him and Yorke to come personally, but it happened nearby, and Secretary Ser happened to be present.

So Oni had to temporarily let Sootball wander around the school by himself and come to inspect the scene.

“What kind of small demon was it this time? They don’t even know the basic rules. Isn’t it a basic rule not to reveal demon characteristics in front of humans?”

Oni frowned slightly.

“It’s the demon hatched from that cursed egg of the Feather Clan.”

Secretary Ser explained to Chairman Oni.

The egg beside Lin Ran?

Oni immediately reacted. If it was unintentionally brought to the human world by Lin Ran, it was normal for the little guy to have no access to learning these rules.

And this cursed egg had been a thorny historical issue for the Feather Clan for many years, which Oni also remembered.

“But I will be responsible for teaching the little guy the relevant regulations next, so please don’t worry.”

Ser looked at Oni and explained.

“If it’s you, I’m certainly very relieved.”

Oni smiled and said it wasn’t a big deal.

It’s just that, as expected, Secretary Ser and the others also noticed Lin Ran’s existence.

Oni knew best whose attention Secretary Ser’s appearance symbolized.

“Let’s go, someone is coming.”

After a few dozen seconds, Secretary Ser signaled that they could leave, and Oni nodded in agreement.

Sure enough, soon dozens of plainclothes figures appeared in the Central Mall and looked at the cameras in the monitoring room.

The manager, who had finally sent away that big shot, was now faced with a sudden “annual inspection,” and his head was about to explode.

Fortunately, although these people were very serious, they didn’t seem to have any intention of making things difficult for the mall.

“Chief Zou, those demons have already come to deal with it in advance, and it didn’t cause a commotion.”

Qiu Ying, the person in charge of the Monitoring Bureau, briefly reported the situation on the scene to the communicator.

“The only problem is that the demonic aura here is too heavy. These demons’ activities seem to be getting more and more frequent, they even dare to cause trouble in the city center, although they still know how to deal with the aftermath.”

Another younger staff member looked at the monitoring device in his hand with a look of disgust.

“This time, I’m afraid it wasn’t necessarily the demons who provoked it first. That demon is young, probably accidentally got lost from its parents and was frightened.”

The short-haired female captain, Qiu Ying, looked at An Hongyu’s behavior on the monitor, including his cursing and calling him a “monster,” and frowned slightly.

Even if the demon itself had no intention of attacking, being targeted and provoked like that, and still surviving, Qiu Ying was actually quite surprised.

It meant that the little demon cub had a gentle personality?

It just simply scared the other party as revenge.

Quite childish.

This point made Qiu Ying very interested. So demon cubs also had such a lively side?

After all, the great demons she had come into contact with at her level were all serious and arrogant, which Qiu Ying found rather boring.

On the other side, after all the commotion, Lu Ya finally calmed An Hongyu down. The exhausted couple were on their way home from the hospital.

“An Hongyu, you better not be really crazy. You made me lose face today.”

If she wasn’t pregnant again, Lu Ya would really be disgusted with An Hongyu.

She felt that his emotions were unstable, like a crazy lunatic. She was only blinded by his tall and handsome appearance when he was young.

“…”

An Hongyu remained unusually silent in the face of his wife’s accusations.

This experience of facing all kinds of strange looks and even being treated as a lunatic, was undoubtedly a huge blow to An Hongyu.

No one believed him no matter what he said, and even his wife, Lu Ya, cared more about her so-called face and told him to shut up.

As if he had become a completely isolated island.

If he continued to make a fuss, An Hongyu suspected that they would even consider him a monster and forcibly send him to a mental hospital!

Just like An Xun back then.

No, why would he think of his eldest son?

Suddenly feeling a chill, An Hongyu couldn’t help but imagine how An Xun had endured all these years, considering he, an adult, couldn’t stand this short half-day experience.

An Hongyu felt that he could perhaps ask An Xun. Maybe his eldest son, An Xun, would comfort him…

Maybe An Xun even knew what he saw and could testify for him!

However, before An Hongyu, who was lost in thought, could finish his thoughts, he was startled by his wife’s scream.

As soon as Lu Ya entered the house, she was shocked to find that her dressing room had been opened, and the jewelry and accessories inside had been ransacked.

Suspecting a thief at first, Lu Ya was about to call the police when she saw the guilty-looking agent, Fu Yan.

Fu Yan was also startled, not expecting anyone to be in the villa.

“Ms. Lu Ya, I forgot to tell you in advance. An Xun gave me the password today and asked me to come find something.”

She explained, trying to appear calm.

But Lu Ya looked at the agent, Fu Yan, then looked down at the jewelry and the clothes she bought on the table, and the suspicion in her heart couldn’t be suppressed.

“An Xun asked you to come here to find something?”

But she hadn’t even brought An Xun here a few times. Lu Ya had always planned to use this villa as her private retirement home.

Lu Ya, who had always trusted Fu Yan, this agent, felt an indescribable suspicion for the first time.

She dared to ransack her villa like this. Had her son, An Xun, already been treated as her private property by this woman?

Especially since Lu Ya knew that An Xun never cared about these things.

But An Xun was her son, how could Fu Yan, an agent, be worthy of doing this?!

Lu Ya suddenly felt the need to investigate carefully.

As for An Hongyu, he was still fantasizing about his son, An Xun, testifying for him, proving that he wasn’t schizophrenic and seeing hallucinations. He’d see if Lu Ya dared to call him crazy next time.

A black raven on the eaves of the house quietly observed all of this.

After tracking them all the way, Ser unexpectedly discovered that the mutated snow leopard cub beside Lin Ran was also quite extraordinary.

The situation of mutated demons in human society was always difficult and delicate, which Ser naturally knew. However, this group was somewhat of a “grey area.”

Many demons also believed that they shouldn’t be managed by the Demon World, and it was best to let them fend for themselves.

But this one, so young, already knew one of the eternal ways to deal with humans: infighting.

Would the little guy also show this side in front of Lin Ran?

Ser was rarely curious.

In fact, An Xun, who had just received the news from the driver, was also a little surprised to learn that Fu Yan hadn’t been able to resist rummaging through things and had been caught red-handed by Lu Ya.

He had originally wanted Fu Yan to succeed a few more times, and only be caught when her boldness grew.

He didn’t expect Lu Ya to return so early today.

But being caught like this at the beginning made the situation a little too light.

Moreover, looking at the messages sent by his father, An Hongyu, who hadn’t contacted him for hundreds of years and was suddenly overflowing with paternal love, An Xun frowned at the last few sentences while feeling disgusted.

A monster with wings and a half-burnt, blackened face?

“Ding ding dong–“

But before An Xun could ponder for long, his phone rang. It was A-Ran taking the initiative to video call him!

“Didn’t you say you were going to call me today? Why haven’t you called? Did something unexpected happen?”

Lin Ran looked at the little guy frantically answering the call and couldn’t help but ask with a smile.

“Ee?”

Little Feather also clung to the screen, blinking at Snowball.

And An Xun, looking at A-Ran on the screen, instantly softened, his previous sharpness and hostility almost completely gone.

“No, I was just about to call A-Ran.”

The little guy wagged his snow leopard tail and replied super obediently.

“If nothing’s wrong, you can come over from the hotel. We’ve changed dormitories to single rooms. Come find Little Feather and me to play. Tomorrow, I can take you directly to the stage?”

Lin Ran looked at An Xun on the screen and couldn’t help but invite him.

Even though they had just parted not long ago.

But seeing An Xun sitting alone in a large hotel room, Lin Ran couldn’t help but feel that Snowball was indeed too lonely.

No wonder he wanted to call his guardian often.

“A-Ran…”

An Xun held the phone and looked at A-Ran on the screen. At this moment, he wanted to rush over and be hugged by A-Ran.

“Ee!”

Unexpectedly, at this moment, Little Feather dragged a pair of gloves and squeezed into the screen.

He spun 360 degrees, showing off the gifts he bought for A-Ran to Snowball.

“Little Feather, don’t fly while holding the phone, you’ll drop it.”

And Lin Ran watched in surprise as Little Feather hugged his phone and flew towards the wardrobe.

“Ee~”

These were all bought by Little Feather with the money he earned for A-Ran.

After proudly showing off the pile of new clothes, Little Feather lay in front of the camera and flapped his wings smugly at Snowball.

How ridiculous it is for An Xun’s father to realize how horrible it is to be treated like a monster, the same way he did to his son, and then not care how An Xun had lived with it all these years while expecting his son to comfort his own half-day experience with it. I really can’t wait until An Xun’s parents and agent are sent to jail or for some other event to happen that will free him from such horrible people sooner.

Thanks for the chapter! 😀
