Recently, due to a bug when splitting chapters, it was only possible to upload using whole numbers, which is why recent releases ended up with a higher chapter number than the actual chapter number. The chapters already uploaded and their respective novels can no longer be fixed unless we edit and re-upload them chapter by chapter(Chapters content are okay, just the number in the list is incorrect), but that would take a lot of time. Therefore, those uploaded in that way will remain as they are. The bug has been fixed(lasted 1 day), as seen with the recently uploaded novels, which can be split into parts and everything works as usual. From now on, all new content will be uploaded in correct order as before the bug happens. If time permits in the future, we may attempt to reorganize the previously affected chapters.

The Long Aotian Cub Becomes the Pampered Darling of a Wealthy Family 2

Chapter 2

On the expensive, brown-black leather seat of the car, the little cub dangled his two short legs, tilting his little head as he stared out the window in a sleepy daze.

As soon as Shen Yuanchuan got in the car, he started a video conference. After it ended, he received a call from his eldest son.

Hearing the icy tone coming from the phone next to him, Shen Tiantian’s drowsy mind struggled to clear. He abruptly kicked his little foot forward, leaving a faint footprint on the front seat, and was instantly wide awake.

Shen Tiantian glanced to his left and saw that Shen Yuanchuan was still on the phone. He quickly perked up his little ears to eavesdrop on the conversation.

“The branch office has just completed the financial estimate for this quarter. Based on the current situation, this project will… by the end of the year…”

Shen Tiantian didn’t understand a single word from the very beginning.

But he still listened very intently. Unconsciously, he leaned his small body against Shen Yuanchuan’s thigh, stretching the seatbelt taut.

The report from the other end of the line finished, but Shen Yuanchuan’s voice didn’t follow for a long time.

Shen Xiuze’s frosty voice fell like snowflakes, rustling to the ground. From his tone alone, one could glimpse his cold and indifferent nature.

“Dad? Is something wrong over there?”

Shen Yuanchuan lowered his gaze to the cub lying by his leg. The little one was staring back at him with big, watery, sparkling eyes, his thick lashes fluttering like butterflies, looking just as puzzled.

Seeing the cub eavesdropping so openly and righteously, Shen Yuanchuan couldn’t help but chuckle.

“It’s nothing. Your little brother just woke up in the car. You two haven’t met yet. Perfect, you’ll be able to see him when you get home tonight.”

Shen Yuanchuan had never been married.

But he was never short of female companions. Coupled with his status as the head of the wealthy Shen family, his love life had always been a hot topic for the media, frequently trending on social media.

Unfortunately, even with three children, the position of Mrs. Chairman of the Shen Group had never been filled.

There was also a significant age gap between Shen Yuanchuan’s three children. The eldest, Shen Xiuze, was already twenty-one, while the youngest, Shen Tiantian, was only three.

Not long ago, some media outlets had even started rumors, extensively reporting on gossip about the Shen brothers fighting amongst themselves for power and profit.

It had once trended high on social media, with many online onlookers placing bets on which Shen son would ultimately inherit the family business.

Fortunately, Shen Yuanchuan intervened and suppressed the trending topic, preventing the news of the Shen brothers’ discord from becoming known throughout the city.

Shen Xiuze seemed to fall silent on the other end for a moment before letting out a soft laugh, so faint it was almost inaudible.

“Alright, see you tonight then.”

Shen Tiantian knew that was meant for him. He hummed in agreement, a stubborn tuft of hair on his head bobbing as he nodded.

“Okay, see you tonight.”

Shen Tiantian deliberately put on a stern expression to make himself appear more mature and composed.

He shifted his chubby little body back to his own seat, swinging his little feet as he wondered what a “branch office” was.

Is it a company that can whip out five million yuan with a wave of a hand, just like on TV?

With this thought, Shen Tiantian couldn’t help but hold up his chubby little hand and count how many fingers made five.

But my palm is so small. Can it really whip out five million yuan all at once?

Before he had even arrived at the Shen family home, Shen Tiantian already had his first worry.

He let out a small, troubled sigh and, lost in his ambitious daydreams, arrived at the Shen family villa.

This was a villa community in the center of C City, with a greening rate of up to eighty percent. Although it was already autumn, the shrubs lining the roads of the community were still lush and green.

The car drove all the way to the villa entrance. Seeing that Mr. Shen had returned, the security guard used his walkie-talkie to order the main gate to be opened.

Once the car came to a stop, Shen Tiantian stretched out his short little legs, tentatively trying to get out of the car.

Unfortunately, his legs were just too short. He stretched for a good while, but his little feet couldn’t reach the ground.

Helpless, Shen Tiantian had to turn his little body around, lie on his stomach on the seat, and use his little feet to feel for the ground bit by bit.

Just as his left foot finally touched the ground, in the next second, Shen Tiantian lost his balance and fell right on his bottom.

The little cub, like a round little rubber ball, rolled twice on the ground by the car before anyone noticed, and then lay still on the lawn.

Two thin blades of grass stuck to his tender little face. Shen Tiantian was stunned by the fall and didn’t get up for a long time.

Shen Yuanchuan got out from the other side. Before he could even lift the cub out, he saw him roll to his feet.

Like a small ball of dough, he lay there, a soft little lump.

He looked both adorable and pitiful.

Suppressing a smile, Shen Yuanchuan pressed a fist to his lips to keep from laughing out loud. That would be too disrespectful to his newly-arrived son.

Shen Tiantian slowly got up. As he looked up, he saw a group of people standing in front of the villa, watching him make a fool of himself.

His face instantly flushed crimson. Shen Tiantian was a little cub who cared a lot about his pride. His face turned as red as a translucent, ripe persimmon.

He scrambled to his feet, brushed the two blades of grass off his face, and then patted the dust off his pants.

“I’m… I’m Tiantian. I’m a Long Tiantian cub.”

Shen Tiantian hurriedly declared his impressive identity, thinking that on TV, whenever the protagonist said something like that, everyone would show expressions of astonishment.

But reality was clearly different.

After Shen Tiantian spoke, Shen Yuanchuan beside him burst into laughter. He reached out, picked up the cub, and corrected him:

“Your surname is Shen. You’re Shen Tiantian, not some Long Tiantian.”

Shen Tiantian shook his head vigorously, craning his little neck to retort:

“No! I’m Long Tiantian!”

Cousin said, a Long Tiantian cub never admits defeat!

Shen Yuanchuan was at a loss for whether to laugh or cry. He ruffled the little one’s soft hair and, no longer dwelling on this nonsense, introduced him:

“These are the aunties who clean the house. This is Auntie Mu, who was hired especially to take care of you.”

Shen Tiantian was too young. Before bringing him to the Shen family, Shen Yuanchuan had already made arrangements and hired a nanny specifically to look after him.

Auntie Mu stepped forward cautiously. Her face was kind, and when she smiled, fine lines appeared at the corners of her eyes. She nodded at Shen Tiantian.

“Hello, Tiantian. I’m Auntie Mu.”

Shen Tiantian was placed on the lawn by Shen Yuanchuan. He tilted his little face up and said sweetly:

“Auntie Mu-Mu.”

He liked to repeat words, partly because he wasn’t yet fluent. His voice was light and soft, like a small cotton ball gently floating into one’s heart.

That “Auntie Mu-Mu” made Auntie Mu’s heart melt. Seeing the little one’s rosy face and obedient demeanor, she couldn’t help but feel delighted.

“Oh, my. The little one must not have had breakfast yet, coming over so early in the morning, right?”

Auntie Mu took the little one’s hand and led him inside, her face wreathed in smiles.

Shen Yuanchuan was a very busy man.

Even though his newly-acknowledged son had just arrived, he had no intention of staying with him. After entrusting Tiantian to Auntie Mu, he turned, got back in the car, and left.

Shen Tiantian watched Shen Yuanchuan’s car drive away. He stopped, tilted his little head, and asked in confusion:

“Daddy left?”

Auntie Mu was afraid the little one would feel insecure, having just arrived at the Shen home with his father gone. She quickly explained:

“Mr. Shen’s company is very big, and he’s busy every day. Tiantian is a good boy. Why don’t you come have something to eat with Auntie Mu, okay?”

Shen Tiantian didn’t dwell on it any longer. He nodded, and his short legs started pattering along.

He liked to eat.

Only with a full tummy would he have the strength to be Long Tiantian and fight for the family fortune!

The Shen family villa had three floors in total. The third floor housed the bedrooms of Shen Yuanchuan and the two older young masters, and now, a room for Shen Tiantian had been added.

The second floor was an integrated level with a gym, a billiard room, a game room, an audio-visual room, and so on.

The first floor had bedrooms for several of the nannies, as well as the living room, dining room, and kitchen.

Auntie Mu was very conscientious and patiently explained the layout of the house to Tiantian.

“…There’s also a small swimming pool in the backyard. When Tiantian gets bigger, you can go swimming with your two older brothers.”

Tiantian sat in the baby chair Auntie Mu had prepared, skillfully tucking a bib under his chin. He held a small spoon and shook his little head.

“I’m not going with my brothers.”

He even wrinkled his little nose, as if he found his two brothers quite distasteful.

Auntie Mu thought she must have said something wrong to make the cub dislike his brothers and quickly tried to remedy it:

“The two young masters are very nice, and they were both looking forward to Tiantian’s arrival! They will definitely like you when they see you!”

Shen Tiantian held up a heaping spoonful of steamed egg custard, opened his small cherry-colored mouth, and stuffed his cheeks full.

“No, they won’t!”

I’m not a silly little cub!

I’m a clever cub who’s going to fight for the family fortune!

There’s no way the two brothers would like a Long Tiantian cub like Tiantian!

It would be good enough if they don’t throw Tiantian out.

After finishing his brunch, before he even had a chance to explore his new home, Shen Tiantian’s eyelids began to fight a losing battle.

He leaned against the sofa, swaying left and right, his vision blurring. It looked like he was about to fall asleep any second.

“Auntie Mu, I heard my little brother is back?”

A young man walked in through the door. Unlike Shen Xiuze’s icy coldness, his voice was gentle, yet his tone carried a hint of carelessness, adding a touch of frivolity.

Shen Tiantian’s eyelids drooped, his little head nodding. He struggled to keep his eyes open to see who was speaking.

In the hazy glow before his eyes, a person wearing a shirt and light coffee-colored pants slowly walked in.

His eyes held a mix of amusement and detachment. Although his tone was relatively gentle, the content of his words was incredibly sharp.

“Well now, he looks like a little fool.”

There was no need for veiled insults; it was a direct, blatant jab at Shen Tiantian.

Shen Tiantian’s previously drowsy little mind was jolted awake by this sentence. He was instantly alert.

“I’m not!”

Shen Tiantian furrowed his delicate little brows, tucked his hands in, and jumped off the sofa. He stomped over to the young man indignantly.

In the next second, to everyone’s surprise, Shen Tiantian stuck out his little foot and stomped hard on the young man’s foot.

“Ow!”

Before Shen Jinfeng, the one whose foot was stomped on, could cry out in pain, the little villain Shen Tiantian had already retracted his own foot. Unable to bear the pain in his foot, he plopped down on the floor, his eyes welling up with hot tears.

He lifted his little foot and pulled off his shoe and sock.

Sure enough, his toe was already swollen.

“Wuwu, he’s bullying me!”

Shen Jinfeng screamed what the hell in his mind, three black lines running down his forehead.

What’s the deal with this new little brother?

A green tea cub?

Or just plain stupid?

Translator’s Notes

  1. Long Tiantian (龙天天): Tiantian mishears/misremembers “Long Aotian” (龙傲天) as “Long Tiantian” (龙天天). “Tian” (天) means “sky” or “day,” so it doesn’t have the same powerful connotation as “Aotian” (傲天 – proud sky/heaven). It’s a cute, childish mistake.

  2. Green tea cub : “Green tea” is a Chinese internet slang term for someone who appears pure, innocent, and harmless on the surface but is actually manipulative, calculating, and scheming. A “green tea cub” would be a child version of this.

Having just been welcomed back into his wealthy family, Tiantian confidently lifts his chubby little chin, planning to get things done in one go and seize control of the company as soon as he arrives! The first people he must defeat are his two older brothers, the major villains in the book. His eldest brother is handsome and aloof, with ruthless methods, destined to become the autocratic ruler of the Shen Group. His second brother is gentle yet rebellious, with a super-high IQ, who becomes a God of Investment thanks to his sharp business acumen. Faced with this little brother who suddenly appeared, both of them sneer, their eyes filled with disdain. Tiantian, on the other hand, hugs his little cookie jar and makes a fierce declaration with a soft hmph: “I’ll twade you my wittle cookies for the company, okay!” Blinking his big, round eyes, Tiantian adds with some reluctance, “But you can only take one~” The villainous brothers: “…” Is this little brother a little… silly? To succeed, Tiantian uses his soft, round little face and sparkling eyes to bewitch his two villainous brothers, attempting to make them give up on work by acting cute. But in secret, he stealthily uses little red flowers to win over the shareholders, promising that if they choose him, everyone will get one!
In the novel, the villainous brothers, who are brutal and inhumane in their methods to seize power, couldn't care less about this little brother who only looks cute and would topple over with a single poke. But under the hopeful gazes from their little brother's soft eyes, again and again, they feel their hearts melting. The company? Who cares. Let's just give it to our little brother to play with! P.S. This is just a super cute and fluffy cub-raising story. The business warfare isn't real.

Translator's Notes

  1. Long Aotian : A popular web novel trope referring to an overpowered, arrogant, and often ridiculously successful male protagonist.

  2. Little red flowers : In Chinese kindergartens, these are often given to children as rewards for good behavior, similar to gold stars in Western schools.
