Chapter 29
A few clouds drifted across the night sky, slowly floating by, obscuring the cold moon behind them. The already hazy moonlight was now veiled in a layer of cloud-like gauze.
The moonlight couldn’t reach inside the house, but the bright lights had already illuminated every corner of the dining room.
Shen Tiantian had finished two small bowls of chicken noodle soup. The noodles were few and the soup was plenty, so it didn’t burst his little belly.
The weather was getting colder, and Shen Tiantian also favored warm, fluffy pajamas, which wrapped around him warmly, like a little animal about to hibernate.
He licked his soup-stained lips, his little expression extremely satisfied after eating and drinking his fill. He slumped in his baby chair and propped up his little feet.
“Next… next time, you’re not allowed to eat secretly behind my back.”
He wiggled his little feet at his two brothers. His feet, clad in fluffy socks, were so chubby that you couldn’t even see his ankles when he wiggled them.
Shen Jinfeng let out a cold scoff, glanced at the round curve of Shen Tiantian’s belly, and unceremoniously gave it a pat.
“Just keep eating. Let’s see what you’ll do when you get so fat you can’t walk, with all that meat on your belly.”
Shen Xiuze’s gaze had been fixed on Shen Tiantian’s round little belly from the beginning.
Seeing Shen Jinfeng pat the little belly, which jiggled twice, duang duang, Shen Xiuze couldn’t hold back either. His palm itched, and he quickly reached out and gave it a couple of light pats.
It was very springy!
Unlike the belly that wasn’t full before, which would sink in when poked, this one would bounce right back.
Shen Xiuze’s eyes instantly sparkled.
Shen Tiantian watched as both his brothers patted his belly. He looked down in confusion, hugged his little belly, his little expression unhappy.
“I ate very little. I went to bed early tonight and didn’t even have dinner.”
Shen Tiantian pouted, trying to prove that he had only eaten a little bit and wouldn’t get fat.
He mumbled on and on, going into great detail, even mentioning the mulberries he had eaten this afternoon.
Shen Jinfeng immediately started to “find fault.”
“We left all the chicken noodle soup for you. Where are your mulberries? Why didn’t you take them out to share with your two brothers?”
Shen Jinfeng folded his arms, deliberately brought his face closer, and looked at the little brat with a displeased expression.
Hearing this, Shen Tiantian quickly shook his little head, tilted his head, and pretended to be foolish.
“What mulberries? I didn’t eat any.”
When he pretended to be foolish, his voice became particularly light and soft, like a little cloud incarnate, sounding like he was acting spoiled.
But how could Shen Jinfeng not see through the little one’s clumsy trick?
“You didn’t eat them? Then how did your tongue get dyed purple from the mulberries?”
Shen Tiantian quickly clamped his little mouth shut and even covered it with his hands, his little eyes darting around wildly.
Shen Jinfeng found it amusing in his heart, but on the surface, he was relentless, and managed to pry two small clusters of mulberries from the iron-fisted Shen Tiantian.
Shen Tiantian stood on his tiptoes, took the mulberries out of the refrigerator, and walked to the dining table with a huff.
Shen Jinfeng felt no guilt at all for bullying a child. Instead, he smiled, his eyelids slightly raised, his smile as brilliant as a peach blossom.
“Thank you, Tiantian. It’s good to eat some fruit before bed to help with sleep.”
Shen Jinfeng broke off two mulberries and leisurely tossed them into his mouth.
Shen Tiantian put his hands on his hips. “Just keep eating. Let’s see what you’ll do when you get so fat you can’t walk.”
He threw the words right back at Shen Jinfeng.
Shen Tiantian even walked over to Shen Jinfeng and patted his stomach with his little paw.
It was hard and bony.
Shen Tiantian disgustedly retracted his little paw, his little mouth unforgiving:
“Your belly is fat.”
Three black lines slid down Shen Jinfeng’s forehead. He wanted to grab this little monkey and give him a beating, but in the blink of an eye, the little brat had run far away.
Standing a few meters away, Shen Tiantian unilaterally reached an agreement with his two brothers:
“You ate my mulberries, so you can’t fight with me for the company anymore!”
With that, without waiting for his two brothers to catch up, Shen Tiantian quickly patted his bottom and slipped upstairs.
Shen Jinfeng stood up, almost laughing out of anger.
“Little brat,” he cursed with a light laugh.
Shen Xiuze, on the other hand, sat to the side and slowly ate two mulberries.
The sweet taste melted on his lips, causing Shen Xiuze’s cold expression to also melt, a hint of a smile appearing on his lips.
“Not bad.”
He put the remaining mulberries back on the fruit plate, stood up, his dark brows raised, and patted Shen Jinfeng’s shoulder.
“Go back and get some sleep.”
After saying that, Shen Xiuze seemed to remember something and said as if unintentionally:
“Tianyu Company’s branch products have had some safety issues these past few days. They’re discussing cutting the less important entertainment section.”
Shen Jinfeng was surprised for a moment, then understood and accepted the favor.
“Okay.”
Perhaps it was because Shen Xiuze had never shown him any goodwill before, but Shen Jinfeng couldn’t even find any other words of thanks.
He could only give a dry acknowledgment.
Fortunately, Shen Xiuze didn’t mind.
Having patted the soft little belly tonight, the corners of Shen Xiuze’s mouth couldn’t help but keep curling up. He was particularly satisfied.
A night of sweet dreams.
Shen Tiantian slept until the sun was high in the sky and still hadn’t woken up.
The sun was shining on his little bottom. Shen Tiantian, wearing his fluffy pajamas, was spinning wildly in bed.
Shen Jinfeng was supposed to go to his studio early in the morning, but remembering that there was a variety show live stream this morning, he patiently entertained the staff.
Pushing open the bedroom door, Shen Jinfeng saw the little cub still sleeping soundly. His eyes narrowed, and a mischievous smile appeared.
Shen Jinfeng walked over, patted the little one’s chubby bottom, pinched his nose, and pulled him out of his dream.
Shen Tiantian was dreaming of fighting his two evil brothers.
Just as he was about to snatch the sweet mulberries from his brother’s hands, Shen Tiantian’s nose inexplicably couldn’t breathe. He suddenly opened his eyes and saw Shen Jinfeng’s face.
Shen Tiantian opened his mouth and, with a little “aow,” bit Shen Jinfeng’s hand, which was pinching his nose.
Shen Jinfeng hissed in pain. His slightly drooping eyelids flew open, and he quickly rescued his hand from Shen Tiantian’s mouth.
“Are you a little puppy, Shen Tiantian?”
Shen Tiantian stuck out his little tongue and spat twice in disgust, then stood up, holding onto the railing of the bed.
“What was your hand doing on my teeth?”
The villain strikes first! The little brat was turning the tables!
Shen Jinfeng rolled up his sleeves, walked over, gritted his teeth hard, and gave him a flick on the head.
“You think you’re in the right? I came to wake you up. Look what time it is. Are we going to record the variety show or not?”
Only then did Shen Tiantian remember that they had to record a live stream today.
He quickly bounced off the small bed, not even putting on his shoes, and trotted over to his wardrobe to start picking out his clothes one by one.
“Should I wear this, or that…”
Shen Tiantian hugged his two little outfits and, holding no grudges, walked over to Shen Jinfeng to ask for his help in choosing.
Shen Jinfeng was truly impressed by the little one’s big-hearted and forgetful personality.
He pointed to the ugly little brown bear set, and Shen Jinfeng lifted his eyelids slightly.
“Wear this one.”
Shen Tiantian decisively gave up the little brown bear set and changed into the other one.
Shen Jinfeng: “…”
After the two brothers had finished hurting each other, they walked out of the bedroom one after the other.
In the hallway, the cameraman was holding up his camera, guiltily filming the wall.
The audience in the live stream chat was laughing wildly.
[Cameraman, don’t be a coward! Weren’t you filming with great enthusiasm just now?]
[It’s okay, we won’t tell anyone!]
[The two brothers are so interesting, torturing each other first thing in the morning, haha.]
The cameraman, who had been secretly filming for a short while, was now very well-behaved. Seeing Shen Jinfeng move, he finally dared to aim the camera at him.
Shen Tiantian was immediately unhappy. He trotted in front of Shen Jinfeng, stood on his tiptoes, and stretched his little neck, trying to block his second brother.
Unfortunately, with his toddler-sized body, he couldn’t block Shen Jinfeng’s face even if he jumped.
Shen Jinfeng was also afraid of this little thing. He sighed, reached out, picked him up, and aimed him at the camera.
“Alright, now everyone can see you.”
Shen Tiantian was very satisfied. With the camera on him, he looked much more obedient and shy. He covered his mouth and smiled, his eyes sparkling.
“Thank you, big brother. I love you.”
He starts putting on an act as soon as the camera is on!
Shen Jinfeng shivered in disgust, goosebumps covering his skin.
He held the little one’s bottom with one hand and tapped his head with the other, his voice low:
“Behave yourself.”
Shen Tiantian hummed twice, glanced at the camera with his little eyes, giggled, and obediently waved his two little hands at everyone.
“Hello, everyone. It’s me doing the live stream again today.”
With one sentence, he had completely kicked Shen Jinfeng, the owner of the live stream, out of his position.
It was as if this live camera had been following Shen Tiantian from the very beginning.
Shen Tiantian even excitedly wiggled his little bottom and patted his second brother’s arm without a care.
“Big brother, let’s go downstairs and play with Grandma.”
Shen Jinfeng was utterly helpless. This little brat really knows how to take advantage of a situation. He can’t go a single day without causing some trouble, he thought.
Sighing helplessly, Shen Jinfeng acted as a human sedan chair and carried the little brat downstairs to the guest room.
The guest rooms were all on the left side of the first floor, near the garden.
Grandma and Qin Ye had stayed in the guest room by the garden entrance last night.
As soon as he got downstairs, Shen Tiantian quickly struggled out of his brother’s arms, ran to the guest room door, and knocked with his small hand.
“Grandma, it’s me!”
Hearing no sound, Shen Tiantian looked up again, patted the door, and shouted:
“Grandma, it’s Tiantian!”
The door was opened from the inside. Qin Ye stood there, looking a little helpless and nervous, his misty gray eyes tinged with sadness, his voice tight.
“Grandma left early this morning.”
Grandma felt that she was old and a burden, and that staying too long would leave a bad impression on others, so she had left early in the morning.
Shen Tiantian’s eyes widened. He flailed his short little arms and was about to rush out to find his grandma.
It was Shen Jinfeng who held the little one by both arms, lifting him into the air, that stopped him.
“Call Grandma and ask about the situation. At this time, Grandma has probably already gotten on the bus. You won’t be able to catch up even if you go.”
