Chapter 35: Oh My Eyes
Unibrow stepped over a pool of blood, pushed the door open, and went to the next room, which was room 207.
Wait, Unibrow quickly noticed something was wrong. The door to room 207 was not tightly closed, but slightly ajar.
Could it be the cleaner? Unibrow thought. Did Peter miss killing a cleaner?
So, he held his gun and pushed the door open.
Room 207 was not large, but it looked very messy, as if it had been visited by a thief. Given the security situation in the lower district, it was not surprising to be visited by a thief.
But when he thought of the task Peter had given him, Unibrow’s heart was in his throat again. They had come to the Beka Hotel this time to find the gem that Charles Brown had hidden here. If the thief had also taken the gem…
Unibrow took a sharp breath and quickly rummaged through the cabinets and drawers, looking for any trace of Vulcan. Unfortunately, Vulcan did not appear as he had hoped.
Just as Unibrow was feeling distressed, a noise from behind him caught his attention. He turned to look, and the source of the sound was the bathroom of room 207.
So there’s a little mouse hiding in there, Unibrow’s lips twitched. The scene of the two Omegas’ deaths was still fresh in his mind. In his mind’s eye, the bright red blood gradually turned black, becoming a greasy oil. A match was lightly dropped, and the viscous blood instantly ignited.
Unibrow squeezed out a confused smile. “Who’s there? Come out.” He picked up the submachine gun, loaded it, and his eyes, following the barrel, were fixed on the front. “You despicable little mouse, if I catch you, you’ll be in for it.”
“Aha—” Unibrow shouted, kicking open the bathroom door. “I’ve got you.”
There was nothing in the bathroom. Although it was messy, there was not even a shadow of a living creature. But Unibrow still found something wrong.
The shower curtain was drawn.
“So you’re hiding here,” Unibrow’s mouth twisted into a strange and cunning smile. “You despicable little mouse, when I find you…”
I’ll put a dozen holes in you! Unibrow didn’t say the last sentence out loud. He just wanted to give this “mouse” a little fantasy fear before it died.
“Aha! I’ve got you!”
He pulled open the curtain, but the smile froze on his face.
A tabby cat was sitting in the bathtub. The cat was holding up one leg and licking the fur on its stomach. The movement of the curtain did not disturb it. It just gave Unibrow a disdainful look and continued to lick the fur on its stomach.
“…Damn it, you dare to play with me?!”
So the reason why room 207 was messy was not because a thief had broken in, but because a cat had. Unibrow’s face turned red with anger. Seeing that this stupid cat didn’t even look at him, he became even angrier.
“Go to hell, you stupid cat!” Unibrow roared. He raised his gun, and just as he was about to pull the trigger, a towel suddenly fell from the sky, tightly wrapping around his face and strangling his neck.
“Bang!”
The gun went off, hitting the wall. The tabby cat was not calm this time. It slipped and slid in the bathtub in a panic.
The towel was extremely tight around his windpipe. Unibrow could clearly feel his breath being stolen. The fear of survival made him subconsciously grab the trigger of the submachine gun. The bullets flew out at high speed. Unibrow couldn’t breathe, so he couldn’t control the recoil of the gun. The bullets from the submachine gun were like a swarm of headless flies with great destructive power, riddling the bathroom walls and ceiling with holes.
Unibrow heard a “tsk” sound. The next moment, the towel that was tightly wrapped around his neck suddenly tightened. He only heard a crisp sound from the joint connecting his neck and shoulder, and a sharp pain shot to his brain. In that instant, Unibrow had an illusion.
He felt that his neck and brain had separated.
The towel that was tied around his neck finally loosened. But Unibrow could no longer fight back.
He was like a fish that had been hit on the head by a butcher. He had no strength to struggle. He collapsed to the ground, his eyes bulging out of their sockets. He felt his eyeballs rubbing against the rough polyester fiber towel. The submachine gun slipped from his body and fell by his arm. He was still conscious, but his consciousness was not enough to support him to pick up the gun and fight.
The towel covering his face was lifted, and a strange yet familiar face came into view.
“Claire Channing…”
Unibrow’s lips trembled slightly. He knew this person, but he couldn’t control his mouth and throat to say her name.
Claire took out a disposable razor. This was a standard item in every room, but now it had become a murder weapon.
She looked very calm, so calm that Unibrow’s heart panicked.
The razor landed on the side of Unibrow’s neck, and then pierced in.
Unibrow’s eyes widened. His senses had not yet disappeared. He could, of course, feel his life fading away as the blood spurted out. The blood was like an hourglass, counting down his life. He was already powerless to stop it.
Claire picked up the towel again and covered Unibrow’s face. The white towel was soon dyed red. This had the advantage that the blood would not splash everywhere.
“Phew~” Claire breathed a sigh of relief. It was finally over. It had to be said, it was quite dangerous just now. The submachine gun’s bullets had almost hit her.
She walked to the bathtub and saw the tabby cat cowering in the corner, looking frightened. Oh, it looked so pitiful. Its pupils had turned into discs.
“Come on, kitty, let’s go.”
She gently picked up the small cat. The small cat first looked around in a panic, but after smelling Claire’s soothing pheromone scent, it relaxed and kneaded her arm in her arms.
This is a real cat, right?! It’s a real cat, right? Claire couldn’t connect the big-eyed, pitiful little cat in her arms with a simulation robot cat at all. In Claire’s eyes, it was just a cute, living creature.
Alright, now was not a good time to pet the cat.
Claire glanced at Unibrow, who was lying on the ground. After confirming that he couldn’t get up, she put the small cat on her shoulder, opened the bathroom window, and saw the old lady from the building opposite, holding a cup of hot coffee and looking at her with confusion.
Claire greeted her, then nimbly climbed down from the window.
Below the window was a small street. A somewhat old black van was parked downstairs. The moment Claire’s feet touched the ground, the door of the black car opened, and Della stood at the door, beckoning Claire to get on quickly.
Claire did not hesitate. In two or three steps, like an eel into a hole, she nimbly got into the car with the cat. The moment she got in, the car door closed without a moment’s hesitation. Then, RV, who was in the driver’s seat, stepped on the gas, and the black car quickly disappeared from the neighborhood.
Things were more complicated than Wen En had imagined.
First was this annoying pheromone.
It was a well-known fact that Alphas and Omegas in heat were like a large collection of fragrance brands. The moment a customer stepped into the mall, before they could even see the signs, they would be dizzy from the mixed fragrance.
The problem was, Wen En and the others were not in a mall, where only consumerism, not life and health, was at stake.
Pheromones were not a harmless fragrance for non-rhinitis sufferers, but a deadly smell.
At this moment, Xiaoli, Wen En, and Romeo were squeezed into an extremely small room.
This was originally the cleaning supply room for the dock workers. There were even a few moldy and smelly rags that had been hanging on the hooks above Wen En’s head for more than twenty years.
He also found several cleaner’s uniforms that had been sealed in plastic bags for more than twenty years in this room. Wen En opened the bags and found that not only were the uniforms well-preserved, but they were also one-piece suits with hoods, which could cover the glands on the back of the neck to block some of the pheromones from escaping.
So Wen En made a decisive decision and had Romeo and Xiaoli change into the uniforms immediately.
Normally, when Alphas and Omegas changed clothes, it was best to be separated, especially during heat.
But pressure was the best inhibitor, especially in a life-or-death situation like this. Even the most flirtatious Omega and the most promiscuous Alpha would not be in the mood to reproduce under pressure.
Not to mention that Romeo had no interest in Omegas at all.
Xiaoli took off his clothes first, revealing his thin and bruised body, and changed into the cleaner’s uniform.
Ugh, who would love a body like a tree branch? Romeo almost couldn’t suppress his disgusted expression.
“Hurry up and take it off,” Wen En stood in front of Xiaoli and looked at Romeo with a warning gaze, signaling him not to cause trouble and think about unnecessary things.
“I’ll throw your clothes into that room later,” Wen En pointed to a room and said.
They had just encountered many of Peter’s subordinates who had been drawn by the scent. These subordinates were all desperate Alphas with countless blood and sins on their hands, and they were not to be trifled with.
And of the three of them, only two had combat power, and both were seriously injured. How could they win? Even if Wen En was usually a tough guy, he knew that he had to choose a roundabout and opportunistic tactic in the face of overwhelming odds.
So, it was best to hide. Wen En planned to use the pheromone scent on Romeo’s and Xiaoli’s clothes to distract the enemy, and then take the opportunity to escape.
“Got it,” Romeo said with dissatisfaction. Why is Wen En so protective of this green-tea Omega? It’s so annoying. He even maliciously thought that it would be great if this Xiaoli Omega could suddenly get lost.
Then it would be just him and Wen En. Maybe…
Looking at Wen En’s calm eyes, Romeo couldn’t help but get excited again. He took off his clothes, revealing a strong, muscular, bruised, and lean body.
And a certain place that would blind a dog’s eyes…
Wen En (forehead in hand) (frowning) (can’t bear to look): My eyes…
Xiaoli: o(╯□╰)o
I’m scared of Alphas now…
